Thu 11/14 Licht cafe Crush and Bunker Maybe Larry’s and/or Uproar?

Fri 11/15 No 9 + Trade Green lantern (rough house)

Sat 11/16 Going to Andrew Bayer at soundcheck, may or may not go somewhere earlier

Sun 11/17 Little Gay Pub

Not locked into the specifics, other than maybe rough house at GL on Friday since that’s a scheduled event. Not sure if there are better days or events to check out for any of the above (or anything I missed). I guess my main goal here was a mix of livelier and more chill places. I will be here Tue and Wed night too and not opposed to going out if there’s something worth checking out.

What places did you go to? Lost and Found had a nice restaurant. So did The Eagle. Club Washington. Eagle in Exile. Chesapeake House. There was a store second floor on 9th, I think, sold things like poppers and leather toys. What was that theater on 9th that had strip shows? There was another strip bar on 9th down from Chesapeake House. What was the name?

Hi all! I’m 25 and moved to the city earlier this year for work. But due to being busy at work, I haven’t had much of a chance to meet and go some of the gay spots around the city. Sure I’ve heard of all the different gay clubs in the city but I haven’t had the chance or know when to go to check out these places. All my friends in the city are either women or straight men so I’ve had no one to go with to explore. Do y’all have any tips? Hookup apps and dating apps haven’t produced more than just one night stands. Of course that’s their main purpose but a more consistent line of communication would be ideal.

Hey! I’m a guy in early 20s and gonna be living in DC in the month of November. I come from a very conservative background and lived in a very close-minded community my entire life.

However, I have been very curious about my sexuality. I’ve heard DC is very open when it comes to sexual orientation and I’m interested to try out my bi-curious side when I’m there. Im gonna be away from home and have the freedom to be on my own so of course I’d like to take advantage of it to explore my identity. But I do have a few questions:

Q: What is the best way to try something with guys in DC in a safe way? I tried downloading the apps like grinder in my hometown but mostly everyone there is very experienced or advanced already, and I prefer to experiment with someone who is ideally as new as me. I would like to be a receiving-partner, which they call as a “bottom” and apparently it’s better to try with someone who has a lot of patience, which doesn’t seem to be the crowd on the apps. So is it better to go to bars or nightclubs? Which ones? idk… what do you recommend?

Q: I prioritize safety very highly and have been researching on ways to engage in same-sex activity safely. One of the things I found was being on PrEP. Is that common in DC? If so, is there a place where I can access it in an affordable way? Anything else you recommend? Anything to be wary of?
