Love the armory. Now I can play multiple builds without an army of alts, and more importantly I can share gear between builds without logging in and out of characters to swap gear.
So i tested FB, LS and incinerate. All mobalytics versions. This is not a true scientific tests since I do not record data with formal analysis. It is my impression running all 3 through the PIT. The gear optimization are also not exactly the same (since I do not have the resources to triple MW anything) but they are all MW12. Also note that this is eternal.
FB is buffed. I just did a PIT 96 which I was not able to do in S6. I main FB so it is all the old gear, kind of optimized, but re-did skills and paragon (e.g. infernal instead of unstable current).
I then tested all 3 on PIT 80. LS performs roughly as well as FB, except FB is faster on the boss. I have the same conclusion by using both in infernal horde and undercity. However, my LS build is not optimized at all and should be way better when I get a better ammy (right now only GA on conj mastery, whatever it is called now and INT, but no other passive).
Incinerate, to my disappointment, did not perform well at all, even struggling a bit at PIT80. I wonder if I am playing it wrong. Sometimes the damage is just not there.
Going forward, I probably will go back to LS as I like the play style. I have not tested the new BL builds yet, but they are all very low on the tier list. Has anyone tested them out?
Am I missing something it did they change grav aspect? And is ball lightning only through the unique now?
Edit: for them to orbit the caster
I can't get enough mana to continuously cast ball lightning I get like 8-10 then my mana runs out I'm trying to make my own build so any advice on ways to get mana back would be appreciated 👍
With changes that it triggers also on boss stun attempts, is this now viable? There is a weapon temper which allows +7 and it can also roll on amulett. So its easy to push this quite high. Is this the boss damage sorc needed?
I am currently running a fireball build with Banished Lord's Talisman, and I love it. It gives 6 to core skills with a double masterwork bonus. I have a crit chance of 98%. So my question is.. would there be a legendary option that would out perform Banished Lord's Talisman, and exactly how/why. My fireball is level 42 with it equipped.
On live, the permafrost tooltip says it only increases the damage of frost skills. Most of the build guides and last week's patch notes have it as all damage. Is this a last minute change or a bugged tooltip?
Hello everyone. I start the season today and i wanted to play the sorc for the first time. Probably the wrong season for that but after playing spiritborn last season i am up to a challenge. I play on the ps4 and there can be some difficulties for right positioning of spells. I see a lot of fire builds out there with that wall of fire and my question would be if this would be good idea to play or is lightning bolt the better way to play on console?
I just checked the tier-lists on mobalytics and maxroll, which paints to very different picture for sorc.
On maxroll, the highest sorc build is firebolt, which no one likes to play, at the bottom of A-tier. Every else is B or lower.
On mobalytics, there are 5 sorc builds on s-tier, with a new Inferno build (which I may try .. sounds fun).
I think Lurkin is a better sorc content creator, but that is just my opinion. And i am clearly a big sorc fan so I may be biased that way. Anyhow, it is interesting to note such a big discrepancy between the two websites.
I unsure what build to main next season, after they killed Jon Snow. I want a build with similar decent single target damage and excellent aoe. Really not motivated for another LS-sorc,and I have never been a big fan of BL, but maybe the new uniques will help. Have you decided, only a few hours left now
So, I'm a newb to D4 (or actually a long time returning player from D2 days). I always play Sorc/Mage in all ARPGs and MMORPG. I've been reading a lot of Reddit discussions about how lame Sorc is going to be in S7 because it's so underpowered, etc. but my question is, why be like everyone else?
The majority will just automatically play the highest DPS meta class, all with a copy-paste build from a website, totally identical, zero originality (in order to faceroll) and to me that equals kind of boring. I've always gravitated toward the non-meta classes or semi-meta classes, not only to be different (because I enjoy different) but also as an added challenge.
Granted, this doesn't always apply in every situation since, let's face it, in many games you have the issue of elite-minded players gating you because you don't have xyz spec (in which case I usually have a meta alt / spec on hand) but in the case of D4, where you can faceroll most content... why not give yourself an added challenge and be different than the cookie-cutter crowd at the same time?
I haven't gotten to endgame yet, but is Sorc truly impossible to play at endgame, even in S6? From what Lurkin shows, the situation with Sorc is only going to get better in S7 not worse, with the likelihood of even more positive adjustments before S7 launches. The devs in the video I watched also stated that Sorc was still behind other classes. Would they verbally mention this if they weren't planning on addressing it (serious question)?
following an incinerate leveling build, but question, when multiple mobs surround me they automatically get this blue spinning circle above their heads... what is that from?
Every class has a build in the s-tier. The highest sorc build is firebolt which few likes at the bottom of A. FB, LS, BL are all B or C.
I know this is early and there will be adjustments. And they are not always right. But so far the signal is not good. I guess we will know more in a few days.
When I play HC, I start out on "Hard" and then go to "Expert" just after level 40, and then "Torment 1" after level 60. I've never gotten past "Torment 1." Does this seem reasonable?
I'm conflicted on which sorcerer build to go for between ice shards or incinerate which one is stronger ? Edit, ice shards is getting a buff next season
and they did say they are going to buff sorc because sorc is the weakest in the PTR. I have not seen the actual patch notes yet. Hopefully the buff is going to be substantial.
I'm curious what the community's thoughts are on season 7 for sorc.
I personally don't have high hopes.. Enlightenment is still wildly powerful. Conjuration mastery is still wildly powerful but only for conjurations..
Where is the 100%x damage going to come from now to help us compete? I think blizzard has dropped the ball on this patch.. I've only played s6 but hearing the issues with sorc go all the way back to S1 it really just feels like blizzard doesn't care about the sorc.
A conjuration build is still extremely likely to be the top build. Or it will just be enlightent lighting ball. Fire gets essentially no change. Ice gets essentially no change.. Am I missing something?
Thanks, I really want to enjoy d4 but it's the summary of everything wrong with d3 in my opinion.
Edit: The changes I vehemently dislike were all added in Vessel of hatred. I didn't realise this, and shows me why my opinion is not the norm.
As per title, I'm very new to diablo IV endgame and I reached a point where I don't know what I need to be doing in order to progress further. Managed to squeeze through Pit tier 30, tried 35 but no dice, there isn't enough firepower here to reach the boss on time. I've beaten all so called "tormented bosses" on T1, have 0 resplendent sparks to show for it and honestly not sure what to do next. Thanks in advance for any and all tips!
I have 2 mythics, both are the lance that use a shrine every 30 sec or something, pretty useless drops, so im looking for a build without any Mythics besides that I have every single normal unique
So I feel like I've got pretty decent gear for the most part...but I die alot anywhere near pit 49. I think I messed up by not masterworking or leveling up my glyphs until recently. I feel like I should be alot farther along by now. Also is there a way to share gear from an eternal to seasonal character?
What body is better for fireball tyraels or the shroud. I have both but am unsure as to which is better.
Hi, this subreddit have felt quite like a midsaharan desert this season, what have you sorc guys been up to? What ended up being your favourite builds this season? I played all classes except necro, and as always frozen orb was my favourite. I played barb for the first time in d4, dd/ww/Eq and Mighty throw, barb was actually good fun. What surprised me most was how fast I got bored of my quill volley SB. Strong AF, but having that much power just wasn't fun.
Ok I got a fairly great winter glass... Perfect roles at the bottom and I was able to triple hit conjuration mastery for +10.
I see hits for up to 50M and can play the game on Torment 4 without dying but it still takes forever to kill anything.
I have the demon killing hat, a perfect 25% tal Rasha, and mythic ring.. I am using the 4GA ice sword that adds 6700 +4000 ice damage on lucky hits...
I did kill the Torment 4 council, but it took forever.
What damage should I be seeing in Torment 4? Torment 3 is very fun as everything just instamelts. Pit 65 can do but 15m-50m hits are painful. I have usually 12-15 conjurations at all times.
I started D4 in S6 after my Xbox 360 bricked D3. Been 100% chain lightning through the leveling process; originally focused on crowd control affixes which was a blast /s. After hitting T1, I quickly picked up a 0GA Axial Conduct and struggled with mana management all the way until T2.
At around 160 hours in total, playing in to T2 i got my first Mythic Unique helm and the rest being Unique or ancestral. Started burning through EVERYTHING in T2 and bumped to T3... only to be 1-2 spotted from lack of armor (660). Dropped back to T2 and farmed for three days trying to get more Mythics -- no dice. However, I got a sweet 2GA Axial conduit with a bonus to crackling damage reduction which i quickly upgraded with the salvaged mats.
Long story short, I hit twice on damage reduction masterworking per crackling and now sit at 74% damage reduction with full stacks.
Average crit for CL is around 12 million and able to support 5-7 chain lighting at T3. My lightning nova via amulet pushes 30-100+ million.
Cleared Pit 64 tonight in 6 minutes... can't wait for T4!
And yes, I'm going Eternal lol
Since boots with +4 meteor and a starfall coronet dropped into my lap I decided to give Lurkins meteor build a try. Just started and t2 is alright, but since this build is supposed to be able to clear pit95 I gotta ask about the playstyle? Yes, meteor does a lot of damage but in between casting there is no basic skill involved and familiars, lightning bolt and ice blades are not enough to keep the monsters from killing you in between the meteor cast delays. What do I miss? Does the meteor cooldown have to go to almost zero? Is that the trick?
Got bored min/maxing a SpiritBorn to try and get past P120.
Seems there are 3 variations of Chain if you look on Maxwell, Icy-Veins & Mobalytics. Just hit L60 with ok gear. T1 is easy but can't get any traction beyond that. Only a couple of weeks b4 the new season and wondering if the build type is even viable for T2 or above? Or even pursuing.
Hey guys I have a eternal HC Sorc currently running fireball on Torment 1. is there a good guide how to progress till T4 with builds?
How does this happen? Best bug in the game
Hi everyone! I‘ve been playing bl every season since s1, just because to me it’s fun. Currently 250, comfortably farming t3 (that’s okay, my dsdd barb whom I also play since s1 is also „stuck“ in t3). I would like to finish a Kurast run thought to get GAs and that is by nor means dangerous to me, but my dmg output is not high enough to finish Kurast on time. Running Lurkins Zeus Tank build. Have by no means my glyphs at lvl 46, would you say that gives enough damage boost so the pit is what I should do until glyphs are all 46? And yes, I know s7 brings two new uniques and changes to gravitational, but I don’t want to wait.
