Barbarian in Blizzard Diablo 4

Sup everyone! So I've been grinding and getting pulled a lot in the past few days. I built myself an Upheaval barb. All my gear is still pretty shit but I can hold myself on t2 right now. My question now is, how can I get better gear? Ive been looking into Uniques and Aspectd, apparently Bold Chieftain Aspect is very important. But could anyone with experience maybe look over my character and help me figure stuff out? Everyone I know tells me to quit playing Barb and join the SB gang.
My Barb is lvl 60 Paragon 123
So, I did the same a lot of you are doing based on a lot of the posts I’ve read lately…
Roll an SB, faceroll everything, have fun, but get bored fairly quick, then roll a Barb, and put all the shiny items on him at 35.
After being extremely underwhelmed with how my dude performed with a fully decked out (MW 12) Shroud, Starless, DoomB, Perdition, etc…
I rolled a necro. Went with Ruse_C’s Omega blood build (since I’m so stacked, I just went with the pit push build as soon as I hit 35, and holy +#+%*%%!!.
I don’t want to spoil, but if you have a bunch of mythical, and are looking for that SB 1hit with mobility shot to the veins, give this a try. Let’s put it this way, @ 35 in Perdition, unless it’s a tough elite, I’m just swinging my basic at trash and 1-2 hitting it lol…with basic Reap.
Now, if I decide to use blood surge, and god forbid, soulrift, the screen just explodes.
Not sure why, but it didn’t feel like this with the barb. It was just a lot clunkier, and frankly, a lot less damage. Even just comparing the basic skills damage to one another.
I did get the barb into T4 fairly quickly with that throw build, but man, it was just clunky and didn’t feel great to me.
I am looking for a 3 star Anctients Oath on Hard-core please hmu with a pic and ur price
This phrase is bugging me. Does this mean that if an enemy is already bleeding then it will never proc?
Love the stomp and earthquake fantasy. Are there any builds out there for it?
Hi,
I want to create a speedfarm barb for nightmare dungeons. Wondering if bleed build is viable or do you need to run back to pick up obducites?
Also have 2x GF that I would like to play around with.
I have a 2 GA Bannished lord with max aspect. GA on max life and core skills.
Would a amulet with lets say +2 to brute force and +2 to heavy handed (unmasterworked) be better?
Cannot imagine you beat the x60 aspect of BLT.
I was thinking about this item and how useless it is. The affixes are garbage and the unique effect is clunky af. Walking arsenal was nerfed even though it was already weak. The internal cooldown is really long at 10 sec and the fury regen is not needed.
My idea of how this item could work is similar to what the third blade does but for browling skill. Warcry would be a problem though, so maybe move it to the defensive skills or add a different tag to it.
My proposed affixes: -mov speed -brawling skill damage -+ranks to brawling skills -earthquake duration or earthquake size
Unique effect: brawling skills now cost fury and cast earthquakes that last 4 seconds. Can only occur every 4 seconds.
What do you guys think? Maybe the unique effect is a bit lame and the affixes could use some help too but the core idea is third blade for brawling skills.
Posted this in the Sorc sub as well, but I'm giving away 10b in gold and items (Mostly spiritborn) that you can flip for a few mil/hundred million.
Gonna put names in a randomizer, so drop a comment.

My first alt is a barb, going for the mighty throw build, and I just rolled an ancestral Ancient's Oath with GA on cooldown reduction. The guides online use a regular legendary two handed blade, what's better for the build? Ancient's Oath, or a generic legendary weapon I can affix overpower damage and mighty throw double damage to?
Looking for max rolled versions of wind striker, fierce winds, and dust devils aspects will pay 5billion per aspect
People seem interested in other variations that aren't mighty throw, so I put this together in hopes of getting barbarians some more attention. Clears t4 and bosses easily, no mythics required to start up, I got stuck around pit 85 without min-maxing any of my gear. Good master working and tempering rolls would probably get it up to 90 no problem.
Hey! So I just found Harlequins, my first mythic. Playing Mighty Throw at the moment but doesnt seem to fit that build. Any barb builds out there built for Harlequins?
Goal is to reach pit 100, I have not been carried and leveled my glyphs solo.
After 3 days stuck @ 87 trying a bunch of things and failing, I finally had a breakthrough and got to 90. Next stop 100(i hope)
I've started puting together the gear for the build and realize almost every build on a different video/website has differing boots, pants or amulets to name a few. What pants/boots or other gear is non negotiable for the build outside of third blade would you guys say is essential to the build for pit pushing?
Also I dont have the expansion. Any significant playstyle changes with no runewords?
And lastly, I've heard there are some significant bugs with this build atm. Can anybody let me know what those bugs are or if they still exist?
I had something, I'm guessing it was from a weapon, that would sometimes generate floating red orbs (not the health potions) when I cast Upheaval, that would explode when touched and cause damage to surrounding enemies. It only happened sometimes, so I'm guessing it was a "chance of" type thing. I just swapped out a bunch of my weapons and now it isn't happening at all, and I never caught what the skill was. Can someone help? Sorry I don't know all the official terms
Hey all! I just rolled a barbarian alt and I've been pretty underwhelmed with the build choices so far :(. I was hoping for something that fit the theme of a berserker - with some kind of permanent enrage and a fast attack speed ideally.
I don't love Mighty Throw or WW, so I'm hoping to find something other than that. I'd love if it could fairly easily compete on at least T3 if not T4. If it has a no-Uber variant, that would be ideal.
Any suggestions for me? :)
Seen a few different variants. Was wondering what the consensus was on either for this build?
MT barb for reference.
I have been enjoying the (sort of) spin-to-win WW/earthquake/dd. For my shouts, the Raid Leader passive allows for "shouts also heal allies" - does the healing apply to self casting as well or only benefits a party members in group play? Thanks in advance.
Am I correct in thinking that adding more % to basic skills has deminishing returns? So I'm following maxrolls bash barbarian guide and he has tempered +basic damage on his weapons. My basic damage is already at +1700% so is it more valuable to change one or two to critical damage etc which is only at %550? My understanding is that adding another %150 basic damage when it's already so high won't yield much of an increase?
Those of you who have the third blade, where did you find it? I'm desperate to get it to make my build work properly, I'm playing in a clan with two spiritborns (and a necro) and generally feeling inadequate 🤭
Hi, this might be a stupid question but where can I find the temper "Weapon: Chance for Mighy Throw to Hit Twice". I already have the Weapon Augments temper manual but it only has "Chance for Mighty Throw to Deal Double Damage".
We are almost one month into the season and the mid-season update is coming up soon. Let's take a look how the different builds and mechanics are stacking up right now. These are based on documented clears that I have found, I could very well have missed something so please let me know if you think something is missing! The tier list is ranked according to highest pit tier cleared.
S (110+):
Mighty throw
A (100+):
Thorns
Whirlwind + Earthquake/Dustdevils
HOTA + Earthquake/Dustdevils
B (90+):
Rupture + Earthquake/Dustdevils
Double Swing + Earthquake/Dustdevils
Leapquake
C (80+):
Bash
Rend
Iron Maelstrom
Frenzy + EQ/DD
D (70+):
Deathblow
Flay
Overpower
Overpower seems to scale well into the endgame due to life stacking and many supporting items/skills.
Earthquake and dust devils
Many of the top builds use EQ/DD as their damage mechanic. This allows for great flexibility in playstyle while doing consistent damage.
Thorns
While most thorn users recommend against using thorns in the current game, there are still some solid clears. Notably the new key passive allows for a more active playstyle.
Bleed
Bleed is underperforming across the board. Even though many people tried to make it work with the new shattered vow mythic, bleeds just don't cut it.
Core skills
Many core skills are used in the tier list, but they revolve around damaging enemies with EQ/DD and not the skills themselves. Thus we don't see items like Twin strikes or Ghors in any top clears. Also notably absent is an upheaval build.
Weapon swap
While weapon swap is used in the new Mighty Throw build to proc extra pulses, it has barely any use outside of it. The weapon swap mechanic just does not provide enough damage to carry a build. Especially the Walking Arsenal key passive is severly underused, as is the Iron Maelstrom ultimate.
Frenzy
Special mention for frenzy because it is a fan favorite. Haven't seen any clears with it yet, while many people would like to play a frenzy barbarian!
Let me know what your experience has been with the barbarian this season!
Is the loss in main item ability % worth the added GA spots?
I'm playing a bash barbarian that uses the tec rune with the aspect of earthquakes and aspect of bul kathos. I'm not using the rumble Glyph and I'm considering swapping it into the starter board instead of ire, I'm struggling to work out if this would be an improvement or not?
I’ve been craving those juicy billion damage hits all season, my original goal was to get HOTA to hit 1Bil. My best was 680Mil, the rotation was awful, and i could barely kill anything in T4. Decided to swap to the maxroll bash build, and was able to do most everything in T4. Crits were in the 200Mil range and the occasional overpower crit was around 650Mil.The max attack speed crit based blender build was definitely better than HOTA but not what i’ve been after. I was tweaking my build tonight to find the best way to overpower. Obvious choices were bone breaker node (every 12 seconds) and dominant glyphs (every 20 seconds), then i found the Xan rune (next attack OP crits). I’ve gotten Xan to give me an overpower every 7 seconds or so with Lith (stand still) Wat dropping horrify every 1.2 seconds and Xol (cast a skill from another class) with Xan. I was absolutely floored when i walked into the training dummy and started getting 2Bil overpowers every few seconds, maxing out at 4.8Bil. Was able to then clear Pit 85 with a few minutes to spare, biggest non dummy overpower was 4.5Bil. My glyphs are all around 46, paragon 238, several pieces are 8/12 MW, my amulet is TRASH (no brute force yet), and this is on the eternal realm (if that matters).
If I have at least 100% enhanced rupture size explosion from Fields of Crimson, does that mean tempering that affix on other gear won’t do anything? The reason I ask is that on Mobalytics, they mention the following for dust devils: “It doesn't work to have more than 100% increase in dust devil size. Note that the 100% limit is only for tempering, you can still increase it even more with the Fierce Winds aspect.” So could it be possible the same applies to enchanced rupture explosion size? That the 100% limit is only for tempered affixes, and so you can combine that with the non-tempered affix from FoC to get above 100%?
