I alternate between devices to watch anime on CR, and noticed that a lot (majority!) of the episodes I have watched aren’t automatically being marked or flagged as watched? It’s difficult to remember which episodes I’m on so I manually have to “mark as watched”.
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem & how to fix it if possible?
Updated app. Just shows this screen. I can access it on my phone .
Why does the new section suck? 9/10 times episodes that i'm waiting on get pushed out of new section.
Like guys??? Either keep them in the section for longer or add another new section for "newly unwatched"
Navigating the site sucks and it takes time to find animes that have new episodes that you've watched previously.
and if i watchlist one why not make the new un-watched episodes show on the front page of watch listed animes?
Crunchyroll site has been a disaster for years and annoys me every single *'* time i have to navigate its disaster of a layout.
adding an un-watched filter would also be huge to the site. Because of the horrible layout i use alphabetical sorting to try and find anime i haven't watched yet but without an unwatched filter it becomes harder and harder to find anything i haven't watched the more you end up watching.
the site design is bad, fix it. Funimation did it better but then you guys had to merge.
Also the site really sucks since the removal of comment section. You guys suck!!!!
The visuals are ahead of the audio. I looked up how to fix this and, because I’m using a Roku TV, It said to type in a certain thing on the remote to reset the cache. Then, uninstall Crunchyroll and reinstall it. I did all of that, but the issue is still there. Does anyone know what I should do?
Keep in mind I’m using a Roku TV, so if it’s something that I have to do specifically with that then you can tell me that.
When it came to linking my Amazon prime account to Crunchyroll, I already had a Crunchyroll Premium, but I had to cancel this and subscribe through Amazon Prime directly and that lets me watch Crunchyroll on both the app and Prime Video.
Now that Crunchyroll has released on YouTube Primetime, I only seem to have the option to sign up, not sign in.
Does this mean if I want to access Crunchyroll on YouTube I need to sign up for another subscription, or can I somehow link my existing Crunchyroll Premium to both YouTube AND Prime Video?
1st does anybody know how to report these issues so the engineer at crunchyroll/prime can fix these issues. Past episode 1000 now im at 1050 and atleast 10 episodes have been completely unwatchable in english. 6 episodes have had desynced audio, some playing the completly wrong episode. 3 episodes have shown, expired rights and werent even available to watch.
I have my crunchyroll subscription through Amazon prime and the first season of solo leveling has the dub and the sub. The second season appears to only have the English dub??? I only watch English subs bc I only like hearing the original voice acting. Anyone know where I can watch season 2 English sub? Thanks!
TL;DR: the new Terms of Service includes a waiver of your Class Action rights against Crunchyroll, in addition to the existing Arbitration agreement. You can opt-out and reserve your rights by email. See heading "Next Steps: Opt Out" below.
I'm not a lawyer, but I am the kind of person to read the terms of service and who stays up to date on consumer rights. I'm hoping this summary will be informative to you, but in the US your consumer rights are very fragile and it is ultimately up to you to understand how to best protect them.
Hi everyone.
Crunchyroll updated their Terms of Service recently. These changes were discussed on another r/Crunchyroll thread, but I'd like to provide a summary of the changes regarding Dispute Resolution and your right to opt-out.
The email Crunchyroll sent notifying me about the changes reads:
Terms of Use Updates:
- We’ve provided additional details on the use of your account and the guidelines that help keep user accounts safe and sound.
- We’ve updated the procedures for resolving disputes with us.
The actual changes to the text are not recorded on Crunchyroll's site, but older versions can be read using the Wayback Machine. Specifically comparing the current page and the page as of 01/24/2025, we can see that Crunchyroll has added a Class Action Waiver to section 14, among significant other changes to the dispute resolution process.
The timing of this TOS update is coincident with reports last week of a data breach involving user login credentials.
Crunchyroll offered a statement to the press about the leak:
We are aware that login credentials for several streaming services, including Crunchyroll, were posted on social media and have resolved the issue. We have secured the affected accounts, investigated the situation and determined that there is no evidence that Crunchyroll's systems have been compromised. Crunchyroll encourages subscribers to diversify and change passwords regularly and keep them confidential. For any questions regarding account security, fans can visit our Customer Service Help Page.
We have yet to see an independent reporting of what the scope of the leak is. I don't mean to be alarmist or conspiratorial—I'm not aware of any indication that Crunchyroll is being dishonest here. It is very plausible that user credentials can leak without impacting the security of other functions, so it is quite likely Crunchyroll is indeed being upfront and honest (though not every company is). I am just raising concern that if there were an incident (or future incidents), this TOS change will prevent a class action response to it.
If you remember, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures previously settled a class action in 2023 over subscribers' personal information being improperly shared with 3rd parties without consent. This Class Action Waiver would prevent you from bringing similar litigation against Crunchyroll in the future, if that is ever necessary.
And under the terms of the new Arbitration agreement, you must first attempt "informal" dispute resolution (Section 14.a), then only after 60 days may you enter into Binding Arbitration. You can still file suit in small claims courts (Section 14.e), but my reading of the terms is that is only if Crunchyroll passes the opportunity to first enter arbitration.
The timing of these TOS changes within the same week of these reports is a little suspicious to me. Maybe the leak was contained, but was a wake-up call to the Crunchyroll legal team that led to the TOS changes. Maybe there is more damage (leaked PII, viewing history, etc.) that the public doesn't know yet, and Crunchyroll is trying to get ahead of legal action.
That's why it's important to reserve your legal rights! The legal system exists to protect you, and Arbitration and Class Action are generally harmful to consumer rights.
There is an Opt-Out procedure for the Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver. This can be done over email using the following template:
to: legal@crunchyroll.com subject: Arbitration and Class Action Waiver Opt-Out
My name is [First] [Last]. I reside at [Address]. The email address associated with my account is [me@example.com].
I hereby opt-out of the Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver in the Crunchyroll Terms of Service.
You must do this within 30 days of agreeing to the terms. Your opt-out should be honored for any future version of the Terms of Service.
The exact terms of opt-out are specified by section 14.i:
i. 30-Day Right to Opt Out
You may opt-out and not be bound by the Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver. To do so, you must notify Crunchyroll in writing no later than thirty (30) days of your acceptance of any update to these Terms of Use or your first use of the Service, whichever is later. Your notice must include your name and address, and the email address you used to set up your Crunchyroll account (if you have one), and an unequivocal statement that you want to opt-out of this arbitration agreement. You must send your opt-out notice to one of the following physical or email addresses: Crunchyroll, LLC., ATTN: Arbitration Opt-out, 444 Bush Street, San Francisco, CA 94108; legal@crunchyroll.com. If you do not opt out, you shall be bound to arbitrate disputes in accordance with the terms of the Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver. If you opt out of the Arbitration Agreement or Class Action Waiver, you or we may exercise your or our right to a trial by jury or judge, as permitted by applicable law, but any prior existing agreement to arbitrate Disputes under a prior version of this Arbitration Agreement will not apply to claims not yet filed. Crunchyroll will continue to honor any valid opt outs if you opted out of arbitration in a prior version of the Arbitration Agreement pursuant to the requirements set forth in that version. If you opt-out of the Arbitration Agreement or Class Action Waiver, Crunchyroll also will not be bound by them.
Absent opt out, this Section 14 will survive the termination of your relationship with Crunchyroll.
If you would rather delete your account, here is how to do it.
I recently bought the subscription and watched till 7th episode. Today this error is showing. I checked on laptop too. I've deleted and re-istalled too. There's no fix either. What shall I do?
Not sure what is going on, but I’m able to see subtitles but can’t actually watch anything. It’s just a black screen. Anyone got any ideas?
How many free trials are we supposed to get?
Recently joined and did the free trial on my pc. It ended this past Monday. So that morning i went on my tablet and was greeted with a free trial again from the app. So currently it ends i think the 2nd. Is this normal or did Crunchyroll give me a 14 day trial as a new user? I was actually prepared to pay.
Is anyone aware that Crunchyroll is currently experiencing technical difficulties because some videos are playing and some aren’t? Because I primarily use the Xbox app and it’s not letting me watch something and trying to blame my internet connection when the app on my phone works perfectly.
so i watched link click like a week ago, it was working perfectly fine, but now i keep getting med-41009 but i havent got nay ad blockers or vpns. i do use opera if that info helps somehow, i was using it before, and am still using it but suddenly stopped working. anyway, i checked the basic troubleshooting thing, i restarted the browser, my whole pc, but it doesnt work how do i fix this?
I'm from Germany, and i can only watch DB Daima
I watch anime in the English dub and was wondering if anyone knew why there are only 5 episodes of Season 2 on Crunchyroll in the English dub. Are they still releasing them or something? I tried looking it up but couldn’t find an answer so I figured I’d ask here.
Anyone have this and is willing to share? (I assume it will be the same for all theatres, but just in case: I'm looking at Chicago).
I tried to sign up for CrunchyRoll to get the code legitimately, but I'm suffering from the dreaded 'invalid email' error and not having much success with the solutions I've found online.
Title pretty much sums it up, I got really tired of trying to use the daily release calendar page to find episodes for things that are dubbed in English. It's always clogged up with dozens of episodes dubbed in languages that I will never watch and just make it harder to find what I am looking for. So I made some uBlock origin filters that hide specific episode elements that contain the various language name and Dub, such as "French Dub." I figured other people probably have this same issue so I wanted to share it for those who aren't as skilled with digging around in the code.
I've also included ones that I've commented out for English as that's the only Language I'm going to watch dubs in, and one that filters out all dubs if you want to just have it display the original language version. The "!" at the beginning of the line comments out the line so if you want to activate the all dubs filter, just remove the "!" at the beginning of that line. Or deactivate any of the language filters by adding "!" at the beginning of the line.
In order to use these you need to have the uBlock Origin extension/add-on for your browser. Then once installed, click on it and look for the 3 little gears in (most likely) the bottom right. The tool-tip popup will say "Open the dashboard." From here select "My Filters" along the top, and copy any/all of the desired filters into the text editor at the bottom.
I've sorted them alphabetically and made each label a comment in uBlock so you can just copy the whole thing after the next line and paste it right into My Filters.
This one is just a header comment for organizing my filters :

Edit: added a link to the page I was talking about cause I spaced it originally.
I know this is discussed a lot in this sub. But whenever i watch a show which contains a lot of japanees text communication i get frustrated. This is the case when you watch an english dub show with closed caption turned on. If any of the crunchyroll team member is seeing this, please do something on this.
Hi, i'm kinda new of crunchyroll but i liked the service and subscribed an annual plan.
I'm looking for a way to get notifications for new episodes of my bookmarked anime, but looks like the iOS application cannot to something basic as this.
I found out this is a 10 years old problem and it still unsolved. The only way is to get an application that reads the RSS Feed of crunchyroll and notify me about new anime. But i also want a way to automatically get my bookmarked animes from crunchyroll to automatize the notification.
Is there a solution to this?
In my mind i need a program that do this:
- find a way to login into crunchyroll (are there any APIs?)
- download the bookmarked anime list
- query the RSS feed of crunchyroll
- check if there are new episodes for bookmarked anime
- send my notifications
i don't think a cloud service is needed to do this, maybe an app is enough, have anyone already did this?
How comes Crunchyroll doesn't have the dub for One Piece? It's weird they don't have it yet BBC do have it?! Any chance it might come to crunchyroll at some point
So I am looking for some older anime like Lupin the 3rd, rurouni Kenshin and so one.
I used to use Right stuff and didnt wanna buy anything from Crunchyroll but, I might have to bite the bullet and order from them since Crunchyroll has some at a decent price. However, I have both heard and seen horror stories about stuff getting damaged. I have had personal experiences with Amazon delivering my stuff and getting damaged cases.
So my questions are, if I order from them, how screwed am I?
And if it helps at all I live in Minnesota so I am close to right stuf's old location so would that factor into anything?
Everything else works, YouTube videos in 4k, and other webpages, but if I try to watch an episode it will load like if I had an internet connection from 2010, is anything wrong?
ok so i see on my Instagram some people can see some animes dubbed ep i cant see. How could i posable be able to watch those episodes as well with dubbed. I'm tryna watch more episodes of one piece and i keep finding clips of people watch 6+ episodes dubbed but i don't have the option of watching them dubbed. Do i have to use a VPN or something.
Heya,
Suddenly ran into a problem with my TV android app of crunchyroll and I have no clue how to fix it so I figured id try my luck here.
Ive been using the app for 10 months now and whenever I clicked on my watchlist it had shown the name of the anime and the "next episode" I could watch; but now suddenly all I see is the name of the episode as if I was to check on my history instead. No anime name is shown, just a pic of the recent episode with it's title which obviously makes it harder to tell what the anime even is.
It works just fine on my smartphone and laptop, but I cant seem to find a setting to change it back on my tv to show the actual show name anymore. Anyone got a clue whats going on? Fresh install didnt help.
Thank you
Btw i've seen the post that says to make a fake email and then make that email into something actually real but i REFUSE to do that unless i ABSOLUTLY have to. Thanks!
Having a very strange issue on my iPad and iPhone where I can’t access the app if I’m connected to my Xfinity Wi-Fi. If I disconnect my phone and use cellular data it works and if I connect my iPad to my phones hotspot it also works. Anybody have any similar issues?
I use my iPad to watch Crunchyroll at work or when I’m traveling, when watching on my iPad (specifically the show black clover) it translates the text to English for me.
However I watch on my Xbox series X at home and when I watch on there it doesn’t. I checked the subtitles option and on my iPad it has “English” and “English[CC]” on my Xbox I only have the CC option and that doesn’t translate the text just adds subtitles which I prefer to not have on. Does anyone know why this is happening or what could be causing it? Also how to fix it if possible?
Warum hat dieser anime nichtmal deutsche untertitel
Anyone else when using Crunchyroll on Xbox finding it to stop playing partway through watching anime? Like it will pause like it’s buffering then just not continue… I don’t believe it to be a network issue as my connection is strong and fast.
My current work-a-round is closing the application on the Xbox and reloading it but it still persists.
Anyone who’s having/had this issue any advice?
