What do you think the biggest differences are psychologically between Chris Watts and Brian Laundrie

Specifically why one person let himself get caught and one chose to kill himself. Both seem like narcissists from what I can tell. Do you think it is the difference in age? Watts was roughly 33 and Laundrie was 23 at the time of the respective murders they committed. They both tried to put themselves in the best possible light with Watts actually trying to smear the name of his dead wife by calling her a child molester while Laundrie tried to paint himself as a hero as well. I don't know what it is because there are many differences in the cases and they happened 3 years apart but I always tied the two together, maybe because the social media presence in both cases. I just enjoy psych profiles and understanding why people do what they do whether it be a serial killer or a family member.

What path do I need for criminal psychology in the Uk ?

I’d like to be a criminal psychologist, I’ll be doing my studies in the Uk but I don’t know where to start. I don’t know if I should do basic psychology or applied psychology for the first 3 years and what I should specialise in for my masters and then phd.

looking for a Criminal or Forensic Psychologist for an interview

Hi, I am a university student and I have a project worth 25% of my grade to find a psychologist of the field of my choice and interview them about their career. I have tried LinkedIn but it wont let me access any profiles, I've tried Facebook to no avail, so if anyone is a licensed criminal or forensic psychologist or knows one, or has any ideas for how i might find someone online (I live in a country where finding this career is actually impossible) please contact me. Thank you!

Which academic path should I choose for BA in Forensic Psychology?

I want to become a Forensic Psychologist. Currently AA in Criminal Justice.. Is it better to pursue BA in Forensic Psychology from universities that offer online programs or would it be more beneficial to pursue BA in psychology from my local university then focus on Forensic Psychology for MA or Ph.D?

What's the psychology behind pedos

I know this is a bizarre and sensitive question to ask, but I've been thinking about it recently.

I wonder what makes pedos feel perverted attraction to children. Say, when you are 5 you think your 10 yo neighbor cute, it's perfectly innocent; when you are 14, you start to hangout with 16 yos, it's okay too. usually, when you're in college you date other college students, and when you go to work, you meet other adults who are also working. While there're couples with decades of age gaps, it is more common to see similar-aged couples, which means, the age groups of people you're attracted to change as you age. I mean, sure, there're the rich and powerful with 20 yo trophy wives or hot studs, but they are still adults and sexually attractive.

I can't understand the psychology of those who are attracted to children and teens their whole life. Do you agree the explanation book Lolita provided? I can sorta make sense of it, as I find that I like certain innocent things I didn't get to have as a child - certain merch for example - but does that apply to... type of persons as well?

He had a stalker shrine! Looking for answers and insights.

My sister. Aria was sent to check on her co-worker who hadn't shown up for work and had a history of heart problems. When she arrived at his house she got no response from bashing in his door, so she called the police and real estate to do a welfare check. The real estate got there first and when they unlocked the door they found the man struggling to live. Aria called the ambulance who instructed her to check his house for a defib machine. When she did she came across a cropped, zoomed in picture of her face (it was her wedding photo) stuck on the ceiling above the man's bed. On further inspection she found that one of the glass screens around his shower had a collage of photos of her stuck to it. Some were taken from her social media, other photos he had taken at work, and most disturbing some were taken while he was stalking her. The man is currently in a coma.

If anyone has had similar experiences or works a profession that deals with stalker behaviour (psychologist, law enforcement) I would love to to hear your stories/insights

Feel free to PM or public msg me.

Also I produce a podcast that at some point I will do an episode about this so if you think you might make a good guest please let me know.

The podcast is called 'Walking on Eggshells with an Emotional Vampire' in case you are interested.

Pls Help

Hii everyone

I’m currently working on a fascinating English project titled "Genesis of Evil: Deconstructing the Mind of a Serial Killer," and I need your help to gather some important data.

I’ve created a short survey to understand public perceptions and thoughts on what drives individuals to become serial killers, and how their minds work. Your insights will be incredibly valuable to my research. If you are someone who has worked in the psychological landscape or is a working psychologist themselves. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

The survey includes questions about your views on the psychological and social factors that contribute to the making of a serial killer, as well as general attitudes towards this complex subject. It’s completely anonymous and should only take a few minutes of your time.

Thank you so much for your time and input. Your responses will greatly assist me in understanding different perspectives and completing my project successfully!

What's the likelihood of a person who has murdered anyone before murdering a partner down the road at any stage of life or relationship?

I was thinking about the likelihood of recidivism of murderers on future partners. I suppose only those who have been caught could provide any information. Still, I was wondering how likely a person who has murdered before would be to murder a partner in the future for any reason? Is there any data on this? I'm thinking about murderer's involved in all types of intentional taking of life, whether it be the former murder was or was not family violence related.

Degrees & Education

Ever since i was around 12, I have wanted to be in the field of criminal or forensic psychology. Unfortunately, living in Australia there has rarely been any information on how to get into these things.

I am currently a first year criminology student, and have now started to regret not accepting my psych offers, since I have seen some info about how i need to have a bachelor in psychology in order to work my way up.

Am i able to get a masters in psychology after i finish my criminology degree, or will I have to complete a second bachelors in order to progress?

Any info, advice, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

Personality types and sexual fantasies survey!!

Hello guys, I am currently a third year student at university and for my third year project I am studying the relationship between the dark tetrad traits (Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychopathy and sadism) and the sexual fantasies one has. This study is incredibly important to me and I would love to get your guys input on the results! I've attached the link below. Some of the questions on the study are a bit graphic so just be warned and you have to be 18 and over to answer these

WARDING OFF EVILDOERS

I have worked as a science journalist for many decades, reporting on advances in medical research, and especially in psychiatric research.

My latest book is titled WARDING OFF EVILDOERS.

It focuses on what science can tell us about who evildoers are, how they got that way, and how you can protect yourself from them.

The book would interest many members of the Reddit Criminal Psychologry Community, I think. Check it out!

It is available through Amazon and other venues.
