I set up some non toxic glue traps outside the tank last night, there are an insane number of flies hovering in and around her tank. It’s as clean as it’s gonna get without me using products that can hurt her, I have no idea what to do
Hello! This is my Crestie, Muju.. I have him as just a pet right now. Since breeding really isn't my main concern at all, but hes a blue/grey yellowish harlequin male (proven) and I think he's super pretty and I'd love to one day hatch his babies- but I don't have a female yet and I'm struggling to decide what morphs would look nice with him, and I'm still doing research about how their genetics work but I wanted some input on what yall think?
Ignore that its really dirty, I’m gonna clean it fully soon (and I’m pretty sure crested geckos want taller instead of wider, so do you guys know if I could just flip it or something? 😭)
I'd like to connect this branch across, but I'd like cork panels along the walls. I'd I install 3 side of cork (60x60 for the back, 45x60 for the sides so there is no chance in it being under substrate) with the silicone, but then for this Grapevine, can I just put some silicone on the ends and attach it to the cork panel? Or do I have to pin it or something? Top vine is currently ziptied through the lid, but I would want to attach it inside aswell. Bottom vine will be coming from the substrate. I have no experience with silicone, but my plan when I get the panels is to take the tank into a room with no animals, open windows wide and shut door, then flip it on its back, apply silicone and press the panels down. If anyone can drop some tips I'd be grateful
Also I know the glass is dirty I’m cleaning all my tanks this evening
I have an old 40 Gallon Terrarium (36″ x 18″ x 18″) with sliding screen top from Zoo Med that I would like to convert to vertical for my crestie.
I've been looking at the conversion kits from I Heart Geckos, but they seem to be made specifically for aquariums with the plastic lip on all four sides of the opening.
The message I got from support was as follows:
Our official answer for sliding tops is we don’t recommend.
Reason there is not a good way to silicone one side because of the lack of a lip from the sliding top feature.
We custom make all the time but only to customers dimension requests. They need to have a plan for that side.
Has anyone managed to successfully install one of these like this? I am pretty DIY-capable so if anyone has done this before I could likely follow someone else's advice/directions on how to account for the bare glass side, like making a frame somehow. TIA.
The reason is I have my feeding bowls on a side where all the flowers started Growth and it's literally all over the bowls so I wanna put the bowls in a different place (on the other side of the enclosure) so will it be ok for my crestie?
Hi everyone,
It’s that time of year again, and I’m a first-time gecko parent. I’m wondering if I should invest in some hanging heat lamps with UVB dual ports for my little ones. My household temperature can drop as low as 21°C when I’m away, and with the forecast calling for -30°C weather this winter (December–February), I’m concerned about keeping their enclosures warm enough.
I have two 6-month-old geckos in 12x12x18 tanks and a 1-year-old in an 18x18x24 tank. All three enclosures are near heater vents but not so close that the glass overheats.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Hello! I’m new to owning any kind of reptile. I recently got a crested gecko, his/(her?) name is bart. I know he’s a juvenile, not sure how many months. I have his terrarium setup but I notice the humidity seems to drop pretty quick. I’ll attach a picture below. I also have some more plants coming in and more vertical hides I just bought those online so they don’t come in till tomorrow Any advice on keeping his humidity from dropping so quick? Also the temp of my room tends to stay around 72-75 degrees all day, atleast according to his temp monitor. Is that okay? Thank you all! Here’s Bart! (ps older photo I don’t have the light on him all the time, gets too hot)
So I didn't knew it was bad and yesterday I hand feed my crestie only did it once, i won't gonna do it again, i did it once so it should be ok right???
eating that pangea like he will never be fed again
First and foremost my last ever tank I’ll build lol this was a fun/ not so fun process now all that is left is cleaning the glass up and filling the rest of the tank in I’d give it like a 6 out of 10 I’m not happy but I’m not disappointed in it
This is Bean, his toe has gotten worse over the last two days but i’m unsure of what to do, the man at the reptile store said to keep it clean and keep an eye on it but there’s not much you can do, i booked a vet appt but it’s 125$ to get him looked at, what should i do? what should i use to clean it? how do i make sure it’s not making him sick? should i even take him to the vet or is a home method bad for him? he’s about 4 months old, i’ve had him for a month and he’s grown 3.5g so he must be eating well, and he has been good for handling so far, he doesn’t mind hand feeding
I changed the bedding to coconut and forgot to check the humidity before spraying for bed
I’ve never seen one and would reaallllly love one for my cork bark lol
Picture of my 5 month old dwarfie for attention
She tolerates handling so well in just a month of having her.
The breeder I was looking at just added 7 more geckos! They're all so cute and pretty and I can't decide! I'm planning to contact them soon, once I narrow it down more and I'm not going full squee ahead would it be unreasonable/entitled to ask to see the geckos in person? I know I'm getting a gecko from them, I just can't decide which one
