2 days ago I got a 6-7 month old male gecko and he’s pretty chill and is already eating from his bowl and he isn’t skittish and doesn’t run away from me and I’m wondering when I can handle him.
Is there anything else I need? Terrarium is 90x45x90cm. Using two T5 39W and 8W 100W Prorep ceramic heater (with exo terra light bracket) I’ve got springtails in the tank as well as Dalmatian isopods.
He's my first Lizard and his back legs don't work, but i love him, any advice :)
Ps: he can't climb so we made him a little disability ramp to his food :)
i’ve been wanting a crestie for a few years now but i’ve been putting it off cause i was scared i was gonna mess something up wether it be the enclosure or food or anything else but ive decided to commit and actually get one, obviously haven’t purchased them yet but i’d really appreciate any and all advice on pretty much anything - i have been researching on anything i need so it’s not like i’m clueless just want more advice - ty 🙏
Tank advice needed!!! Should I do a bioactive? Best substrates and drain layers (if you guys do that) Also here’s the gecko (she was $400!) I’m just so excited and want to learn from people who care for these little guys daily!!
So ive had a female gecko for about 4 years. Today i woke up with a tiny baby just chilling on a leaf. Any advice would be appreciated.
Most tutorials on diy backgrounds I see are on glass enclosures. They use foam sealant, carve it out a bit after it dries, and then apply silicone before adding some coco or tree fern fiber. I’m wondering if this exact technique can be used on PVC enclosures too? Leopard Gecko on youtube seemed to have some trouble with the foam sealant on the pvc because it was too glossy, making it hard for the foam to stick.
I’ve come across a different youtuber who puts silicone directly on the glass, adds foam, and then wood decor, moss and substrate directly to the foam. Has anyone done it this way before? Does it work just as well?
cricket is really starting to look like a subadult, im stoked to see how much more she develops. she was an ugly baby for sure
So as you can see this video was taken several years ago when we had just got our baby. Almost every single thing about his tank has been changed and updated since this was taken, so he's got a better set up now! The first thing we did after seeing this video (after laughing) was to remove the huge water bowl so he wouldn't drown himself 😅
He catches a lot of moss. Silly guy!
Like… „Open The Door and I‘m gonna eat u up“
he tried to bite me after this, he’s a butthead
I’m in a band named gecko head, currently setting up an instagram account for it. It’d be really cool if some people on here could send me any cool photos of geckos they have for us to use as a pfp !
Howdy y'all I just wanted to make sure my baby Thor is healthy and fit. She's a little over a year old I believe, but idk because I got her from someone else and they never told me how old she was. I don't see her ribs at all, and I see her eat dubia roaches and pangea, but I want to make sure she is 100% healthy.
Gecko is around 4 months, I haven’t collected it yet, and just wanted to post this before to see if ok missing anything. P.s I haven’t sprayed the enclosure with water yet which is why the enclosure is low on humidity.
I plan to feed my crestie gecko diet on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, but i want to be able to feed it insects without getting spooked by jumpy ones (crickets) or beetles. are silkworms good for them? and if so how many? i plan to only give bugs on the weekend as my parents will have to do the wednesday feed now and again while i’m gone once a week each month.
i think silkworms are the only thing i could cope with having in the house, would they be good to feed alongside the usual repashy? or should i feed throughout the week?
Just wondering what are some good things to get like what is good substrate to use and it gets cold where I live so do I need a better heater
