Help with purchasing Shop Card

So I have Costco credentials for my friend. I was ordering shop cards for myself using my card so I don't have to buy membership. The order keeps cancelling.. what should I do?

When did the pizza get bad?

It used to be amazing, but it's so average now. Anyone remember it before the change? I feel like it's the sauce and the cheese

Kirkland scented trash bags are the single worst product I have bought in my entire life.

Who the f*** signed off on these? They took being water proof as a suggestion as I can sneeze in their general direction and get garbage goo on my floor. Also, scented? Scented usually implies they smell better than the thing they are trying to mask. These things smell worse than the literal garbage they carry. They fail at both of their jobs, and I hate them. I hate them so much.

Tried and True Prepared Meal Opinions

I have had the glazed meatloaf with mashed potatoes and chicken noodle soup. I've wanted to try some different things. What would you suggest?

Any opinions on their frozen crab legs?

Can you request the bakery to use less sugar/sweetener in their cakes?

Maybe a terrible question to ask about customization but I think they are baked on site. We can ask for flavors, designs, and customized writing on the cake. I wish I could ask for less sugar. Do you know if that’s possible?

The Protein Pretzels are pretty good.

3 net carbs, 15 g of protein, and only 110 calories per serving isn't too bad in my opinion. I can see these being a repeat purchase.

New gas reward for the Costco credit card!

The warehouse seems less friendly and inviting. Will it survive?

I used about half my reward certificate tonight and was expecting $200 in change. As soon as I pulled out my certificate, the cashier said “you know I can only give you a card now, right” as if expecting me to give up on trying to use the certificate. I remember when you used to be able to walk out of the store after buying something with the certificate with cash in hand, feeling like you’d just won the lottery. It was a little spark of joy that celebrated your past year of purchases. Now it’s a chore to remember that I’ve got to use that card and not get any bonus points on my Citi card for my next transaction.

Same with the entrance. Now there are new gates at the parking lot that are super slow and then a long line at the door to scan your card. Neither of these things seems to have reduced the number of cars or curbed the number of people inside.

Then we got rid of the self check-outs that actually let you get in and out quickly with a small order. Nope, now we’re all in long lines.

They devalued the credit card’s extra coverages, making the warehouse a less obvious choice for large appliances and electronics.

All small things, but added together it makes the place feel less special, like a shell of itself running on autopilot.

Does anyone else feel Costco is losing sight of what it once was?

Panasonic NN-CD66NS Microwave loose door release?

Can anyone who has bought a Panasonic inverter microwave from Costco (ours is the NN-CD66NS) tell me if the door release button is supposed to be this loose (see video below)?

It seems very flimsy new right out of the box.

Thanks...

-TW

Is this normal to be this loose?

Wow Bao cheeseburger dumplings. Ok I was completely wrong.

Saw the sample station and that was the only one I wouldn’t touch. Sample lady overheard me tell my wife “ewe that seems gross, I’ll just try the others.” She overheard and said “you know we sold out of our first stock after people sampled them.”

I was surprised, but listened to her and gave it a shot. Well damn. It tastes just like what it says. A juicy cheeseburger. Ended up grabbing a bag and thanking the lady. Surprisingly good. Made a batch at home with a little A1 dip on the side.

Getting a your drink at the pizza pickup window when picking up your pizza?

The other day, I ordered a full pepperoni and a drink on the self serve POS systems they got and I waited at the pickup to pick up my pizza. I asked the guy if I could also get the drink since I was already there anyways and showed him my receipt. He said next time I have to wait in line to get the drink instead.

I don't know if I'm being a Karen, going insane, or that guy was just a dick but I feel like that's kind of a crazy policy to have to wait in the other line when youre already there and it'd just waste everyone's time just for me to take up a spot in the other line and take up the cashiers time to get me a drink when it could've been someone else getting their food instead. Plus, it has literally never been an issue with literally anyone else the few billion other times I have done it in the past.

I guess I just want clarification on what the actual SOP/policy is for this kind of situation? Was the employee actually right or was he just being a dick? I don't really think it's that deep to have to spend a few extra seconds to get me a cup, especially, if I'm already there.

Heater fail ...then fixed

Just writing this in case anyone else experiences it. We bought the FireSense tall patio heater After assembling we could get it to light but then gas wouldn't stay on. Googled and found out it has a trip sensor in case of it falling over. Thru the access panel (2 screws) the trip sensor wire was touching the ground and a simple bending away from it fixed the problem. Works great. Just wanted to share

Costco Los Feliz Saturday fun

We just got home from a fun and crazy trip to Costco in Los Feliz. Saturday busy. Bought 2 dozen eggs for $7.69 and a bunch of other stuff. It was a madhouse, but it was so much fun. Christina, our checker was super nice. Thanks for the Saturday afternoon dopamine!

Baby Formula Purchase Limit?

Hi everyone!

Just had a newborn a few weeks ago and starting to transition to formula. I have some Similac $30 off checks I want to use and was curious if Costco limits the use of them?

I figured I can't use more than one in a transaction, but, would it be possible to do multiple purchases in a day? My Costco isn't that close to us and just wanted to see if this was possible.

Thanks in advance!

Costco Samples: Need to meet quota?

I find the some employees at Costco to be "pushy" about buying when I’m trying out samples. It makes me extremely uncomfortable. Do they need to hit a quota? There was an older woman who seemed very panicked about being slow and she kept trying to push for me to buy the samples. Sometimes I want to just grab the item and tell them I don’t want it at the checkout, but that’s creating more work for Costco. It doesn’t seem equitable if this was the case. Does anyone have any insight?

Satechi 145w usb-c universal travel 4 port charger $19.97 (Rockwall,TX)

These aren't sold at every location from my understanding, but if your store previously had them for $39.97 it's most certainly down to $19.97 now. In the dfw area only one of the Fort Worth location and Rockwall has them according to the app.

I’ve never noticed Turkey Jerky says to refrigerate on opening. Does everyone else do it?

I’ve been eating this for the majority of my life and can’t say I’ve ever refrigerated the turkey jerky.

Why would the cashier say "You are an executive member, right?"

Never had a cashier ask me that before, is it because my bill was high or I knew the secret of the Sea Salt Caramel being a delicacy. 😀

Will Costco haul away a different kind of appliance?

Does anyone know if when having an appliance delivered, they'll haul away something else? For instance, they're delivering a fridge, and instead of having them move our current fridge, I was wondering if they'd haul away a freezer from our garage.

Why the Uncrustables are always stale (HTX)

Hit Costco yesterday evening (Friday, 1/31) around 5:30pm or so. It was a bit more crowded than we expected, definitely more crowded than usual on a Friday eve around that time. By the time we hit the frozen area (maybe 6pm), the freezer aisles were blocked with palates of stuff to be stocked/restocked in the freezers and it was impossible to get a cart down some paths. Not a biggie except that there was exactly one person who seemed to be charged with doing all the work.

I touched the Uncrustables boxes to feel for temp and they were basically thawed/ready to eat and just sitting there. After winding up with more stale boxes of these things than fresh, I figured something like this was happening but this was the first time I actually saw it. Bummed that this happens because it's the best deal out there but not for a freaking stale product!

I'm in Houston, TX, and was happy to see the membership desk was swarmed with people signing up last night. The food court was an absolute madhouse and the 2 dudes running the front of it were better choreographed than a Janet Jackson video - - they had that shit down to a damn science! (I gave accolades when I picked up my fat bomb cookie.) We don't have Coke yet but whatever you order is coming out quick as hell!
