I made this community because while the cosplay subreddit has some great questions and self posts, it's 90% spam of peoples' websites, which is a bit out of hand. So while the other subreddit is still great, I hope many of you will join me here!
Advice Posting Guidelines
One of the main goals of this subreddit is to provide people help and advice on cosplays they are working on. If you want to post asking for help on your cosplay, please follow these guidelines:
- Post a couple pictures of the character you want to cosplay that you will be working off of. Characters often have multiple outfits or designs and we need to know which one you will be working off of so we can better help you.
- Let us know your progress so far. If you already have a wig or the jacket or a prop, let us know! And post pictures! This way people won't go on a lot about items you have already finished and don't need help with.
- Let us know when and where you want to have your cosplay done for. If you have 2 weeks or 2 months to make a cosplay, this will make a big difference on our advice to you. When you have less time, we will suggest time saving measures that might not look quite as good but will allow you to finish in time.
- Which character should I cosplay as? Include all of the criteria that you're using to whittle down the options, including physical stats, coloring, and media genre. Try to also include what your favorite animes, games, and comics are so that we can figure out something personal for you!

Custom Spidey Suits?
Hi! I've been desperately looking for a way to get my first ever spidey suit, but want it to be my own and not a pre-made one off a website. I want to replicate the Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) comic suit, but was wondering if anybody knew anyone who takes commissions for suits. Having trouble finding a service outside of RPC Studio and Spidey4Fun and don't want to spend $600 lol. Also, if anyone has resources on how to make a suit myself at home, please send video links. i see so many mixed reviews of this websites, and i’m so confused: people who’ve bought from miccostumes, how was the product? it’s the only place i’ve been able to find so far with an affordable yet still looks nice princess peach cosplay (i’m 16 and on a budget), but photos can be misleading. any advice?

Chewy to Bigfoot
I'm looking to turn this Chewbacca mask into a bigfoot mask. I think the main thing showing its Chewy is the dog nose region so I was thinking about trying to add some kind of foam or latex around that area, but I'm out of my depth. Any of you experienced DIYers out there have an idea how I might be able to retrofit this mask so I don't have to buy a new one?

(Demon Slayer) My plan to make the eyes of Inosuke's boar head actually transparent. I'm looking for feedback.
I bought the boar head mask and the only way to see when wearing it is small slits in the nostrils. Its fine for taking pictures, but not for walking with it on.
Here's my plan, but if someone has something easier I'm open to ideas.
I was thinking of cutting out the eyes, adding in two half spheres of clear glass, then putting on a small wallpaper material that looks solid from far away and shows a picture but up close has lots of tiny holes you can see through. What's that material called?

I’ve NEVER used contacts in my life. I’m incredibly blind. So products for eye drop and care would be very helpful. I also want to know what style I should use. I just finally received the correct sized outfit today. I was also thinking of making a prop of some sort. I was thinking Denjis head in the box 👀 but I’m not sure where to start.

Sailormoon AU Cosplay help!
So I'm trying to do a Y2K/early 2000's casual Sailor Moon Cosplay and is absolutely struggling with references. I was hoping for some inspo like punk Sailormoon but my search is being messed up by 90's outfits and strangely a lot of mean girls movie reference? Any tips or guidance would be much appreciated.

I'm a bit confuse about this and I hope everyone can help me. My English is not good so please correct me if I'm wrong 🙇
Long story short, I'm currently in love with the BL story "Codename Anastasia". I'm planning to cosplay I'll be Zhenya ( the blone hair guy ) and I'll find a cosplay partner to be Taekjoo ( the brown hair guy ). But as you can see, Taekjoo in both the novel and manhua was described to have a dark skin tone. It's a bit hard for me to find a partner that fit his skin tone ( I'm Vietnamese ). So I wanna ask, if I can't find a partner that have similar skin tone as Taekjoo, can I let my partner use makeup to make their skin darker to fit the character? Will it be considered as "blackface" ?
Since I didn't want any misunderstood. And this A girl used to cosplay Princess Tiana. Her cosplay was absolutely beautiful and stunning. She really understand the character and respected the character a lot. But she got harassed online and accused for doing "blackface".
So in case situation happen again, I really wanna know that will it be a harmful thing. Again, I really love "Codename Anastasia" and wanna do this cosplay full with love and respect. Thank you everyone for helping me 💙
