Can I keep testing negative but have Corona?

So it seems to me like thanksgiving proved to be a spreader of Corona virus in my family, we are all fully Vaxed except for 3 very young kids. We even left windows open. But my mom tested positive and my dad as well last Sunday, my little brother who lives with them is negative and has no symptoms. All my family in other state they live in have been contacted and are negative Except for my uncle.

I don’t live with parents but they have been sick this whole week they say. Well so have I and my boyfriend. Now I work at a school and my kids have been having colds the last two weeks so I assumed that was why I was feeling unwell, i also rapid tested the day before thanksgiving to be safe and my test came out negative. I got a sore throat two days before Sunday’s positive for mom and dad. Well I went to urgent care on Saturday and got my test back it was negative, for both rapid and PCR on Sunday. Now my BF he said he was also having a sore throat… tested on Saturday and his at home rapid was positive, I didn’t trust the results since I was negative. His PCR came back Wednesday positive. Much to my surprise but I spent the whole weekend with him because I thought we just had colds my school kids have been sick each one of them on and off. I tested again on Sunday using his rapid at home test and was neg. I tested again on Monday PCR and rapid and was neg for both…I tested again rapid on Tuesday and was neg!!

But I am feeling fatigue, headache, sore throat and I have asthma so whenever I get sick it acts up, I was getting better but all of a sudden today all my symptoms came back and chest burning was added. I take one more PCR test on Saturday.

I work with kids in school and was told as long as negative I could go to work even with symptoms, so I did because I had my parent teacher conferences to Finish today. I decided I couldn’t make it through whole day and went home and my director worked with me so I can stay home tomorrow too.

My evening job with is therapy for kids with special needs will not let me return until symptoms free despite negative test. Which is wise but I’m losing out on pay also in back of my mind.

I know my little brother doesn’t have it so it’s possible to be negative….but for obvious reasons I’m very close wit my boyfriend and was sick a little after he was sick, and I was with him when Corona spread is supposedly highest. He is triple vaxed, assuming my test comes out negative on Monday maybe could that combination of vaccines have saved me from getting virus?

*I just tested positive today 6 test later

Omicron advice

Hi all,

So Omicron cropped up at the absolute perfect time for us. We were planning a trip to London for a long weekend in early December. We've both had our vaccinations as well as our boosters, booked direct flights with no layovers, and mask up whenever possible. We've managed to avoid covid thus far and would like to keep it that way.

I know part of the problem with Omicron is that we just don't know enough about it yet. However, I wanted to hear what you all think. What is the liklihood that travel will be restricted when returning to the US? How concerned should we be about contracting the new varient? Would it be advisable to cancel our travel plans?

We have a little over a week before we were scheduled to fly out, and about 4 days left to be refunded on some reservations. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Any side effects of a Pfizer 3rd dose?

Is it easier or worse than the second dose? Thank you.

Update: Got my third Pfizer dose. I only had a sore arm on the first 2 shots, but I felt crummy for a single day after the booster. Hot flashes/chills and mild headache. Worth it :)

Made it 17 months without infection, then caught Delta while vaccinated.

Hi! Posted last year about having possible respiratory symptoms but with no fever. Didn’t have Covid. Made it out of two office outbreaks, a gym outbreak, and other encounters with the infected, without infection. I received J+J on 4/5 and was great…until an unvaccinated relative showed up at my brother’s wedding in August 2021 and didn’t tell anyone until the day of the ceremony. 72 hours after the ceremony ended, I experienced the worst back pain of my life, I had a scratchy cough, and I just wanted to sleep. I had also puked and had diarrhea that morning. The next day, I knew from my cough, aches, and dwindling smell, that I had Covid. I was angry as fuck, scared, and ashamed that I had just gold medaled at my powerlifting meet and now I was infected with the one of the most contagious and deadliest diseases in the US at the moment. On day 3, I went into respiratory distress and couldn’t feel my fingers or toes; I couldn’t take deep breaths and I was self-pronating bc I knew ICU nurses were doing that to their patients to clear their airways. I was scared I’d go to the hospital, get intubated, and never come out. (For reference, the only underlying condition I have is asthma and it’s well managed. I eat well and exercise. “Healthy” people get Covid too). All my strength was GONE and I lost 6lbs in 10 days. Fast forward to today- my taste/smell is still off some days and sometimes needs to catch up to my brain as to what it is I’m tasting. I’m back on my inhaler and need to take OTC vasodilators before I exercise because my airways and blood vessels have been damaged. I lift, and I have to wear a belt more often because I can’t fill my lungs to capacity enough to brace without one.

TDLR: Get your vaccine, get your booster, and don’t buy into the healthy v. unhealthy propaganda. ANYONE CAN GET THIS. Also fuck unvaccinated people, they suck (if they’re willingly avoiding it).

Can symptoms show prior to testing positive?

Little background

Staying currently with Mam and Stepdad. Stepdad saw his Mam three days ago, she is now in hospital with covid. He had a mask on, was around her for an hour and kept distance. She is fully vaxxed, as is he and my Mam. I have one shot of Pfizer. We did tests today, came back negative, will do probably every day for the next week.

Was just wondering, can symptoms show prior to a test being able to give a positive result?

What evidence proves that COVID-19 still makes attending university in person, on campus too dangerous?

I seek arguments and evidence that substantiate that attending university in person, on campus is too dicey EVEN IF universities require masks, social distancing, and proof of double vaccination.

For example, COVID is rebounding in Britain. But many London universities are still encouraging students to study on campus, like LSE (London School of Economics) and ICL (Imperial College London). Londoners ignore mask rules. “Face coverings must be worn for the full duration of journeys on the TfL network, including inside our stations and bus stations,”.

But is this rebound of COVID baleful, baneful enough to halt and forbid on campus, in person university attendance? What peer reviewed studies can bolster this argument?
