Hey guys I know that hot side of enclosure should be around 80-85F, but where is exactly? Is it the air temperature or the substrate temperature? I use head pad, so the ground level is definitely hotter than the air above. My snake is chilling high above the ground over the pad and I worry is she feel hot or cold. Right now I have this thermo that stays on the ground above heatpad and it says 27C (80F).
This is Theo. He's about 120g and just under 2 years old
So we’ve just got a corn snake and we are wondering what’s the best place to put the heating pad, we were thinking of putting it on the bottom of the enclosure covered with substrate but I feel like it would either burn the snake or melt the enclosure ( we’re using a breeding container for the time being as it is still young) and just wondering the proper place for the heating pad thanks 😁.
I know theres a thread but i am just so scared. Shes just 7/8 months old and we leave the front door open almost all day. What if she got out. I am worried sick. I just gave her a tank upgrade and i huess she found a way out. I tore down the tank after not seeing her 3 days. Idk what to do our house is a mess she could be anywhere
I've been feeding my corn snake two pinkies, basically per week, for the last few months. He has been doing well. I weighed him yesterday, and he's now 26g, so according to this chart I've been referencing, I should be giving him a fuzzy now. Thing is, I was looking at pictures, and fuzzies don't seem much bigger than pinkies. I don't want him to go hungry. Is this the correct next step?
the bulb kind of looks weird at the end & i’m not sure if it’s supposed to look like that & i can’t tell if it’s the lamp or the bulb that’s refusing to work since they’re both new. i have a 40 gallon tank and the CHE is 100w and the clamp lamp says it’s meant for CHEs with up to 250w. i’m pretty much a noob so i’m not sure what other brands would work well or if zoo med is a good brand & i just got broken products.
My corn snake has been staring up randomly for a while now and i have just heard of stargazing so i am worried if it is she stares up for around 1mins-2mins
any advice?
( I talked so much i just want to know how much a corn snake cost)
Hi guys I'm from iraq and I'm new 2 the reptile thing and I searching abt corn snakes cus I really want one but idk how much the snake cost ( the animalnot the stuff it need ) I saw Americans on tt saying it cost around 40-60 for normal ones but I searched online for iraqi shops and the normal print one cost 300usd and morphs go up to 450-1ki but I haven't seen the local shops and other cities big animal markets yet .and is 300 a normal price or not?
… for her to tell me my snake ate dirt. I saw my snake rubbing her face a lot and I noticed a lot of darkness in her mouth. She is 16 so I assumed something bad had happened. Nope. She had dirt in her mouth. BUT I did learn butter morphs can get hyperpigmentation in old age so that’s fun.
Hey I recently got this tank as a birthday present from my family how is my set up? I’m looking to add more branches for the snake to climb
My first time doing a DIY realistic background and I’m pretty proud of it! Our noodle boi seems quite pleased with the new digs as well, been exploring every square inch top to bottom 🥰
Got this little girl today, I had read all about how to make sure the tank lid was secure because I’m so worried about escapes. But did not realize the snake would disappear immediately within the tank. I have about 2-3 inches of aspen bedding in a 20 gal tank and as soon as I put her in I saw her for less than 10 seconds. For a few minutes I watched the bedding move around slightly so I knew where she was under there. But not anymore. I did put hides and plants in the tank but she’s definitely under the bedding. Is this what I should expect and not worry if I don’t see the snake for a few days? I know not to handle her yet and I’m leaving her alone but expected to at least know where she was 🤦♀️ nervous new owner here, please be kind!
So I’m considering buying a Coral Pink Snow Corn Snake and before I make the purchase I want to get all the necessities purchased and set up before the snake arrives. While I’m still doing research on the care and necessities, I was hoping seasoned owners could give me tips or product recommendations. This is what I have so far! Thanks!

Hi, not sure what could happen :/ its this something mechanical? Bulb is protected and temperatures mesured, I dont think its Burn... She seems fine otherwise, active, eating. Should I be worried?
My little dude is relatively new to me, I brought him home a little less than a month ago and we quickly settled into a routine of hiding during the day and actively exploring his enclosure at night. Taking advantage of his activity, I started feeding him weekly in the evenings. First 2 weeks, no problem! Quick strike, easy swallow. 2 weeks ago, he stopped coming out at night to play around! The last two feeding nights, he hasn't come out! Most recently, he made himself visible and stared at it but no action. I ended up throwing away the mouse both times :/ This is my first snake and I'm so worried about my little guy, is this normal?
Nothing temp wise has changed since i got him, though i have gotten better at regulating humidity with sphagnum moss.
I have two hygrometers, one analog and one digital. Digital shows 50-60 and analog shows 30-40.. Both are kinda cheap. Im worried there’s too humid for my cornsnake.
It looks like what ive seen get called a lifted scale? But i am not sure. He nearing shedding it seems. Will it be better after that?
Talked to a very knowledgeable guy that said he thinks it has a difused genetic. And one parent is probably high red and the other a standard with albino characteristics... any one throw me some more info
Hi, my female corn snake (4.5 years) has never missed a feed. I've had her since she was 7 weeks old. She has decided to refuse to eat, almost seeming scared of the mouse. Any ideas why she's not eating? There's been no changes at all in habitat. Plus pic for reference.
I use coconut fiber and I use the bricks I like to put them in bucket and fill up with water a bit then break it up and put it in the tank but I heard someone say that I shouldn’t have wet/damp substrate it drys out after a few days. So how do I dry it out for her I don’t want it to cause problems for her.
