I had to reformat my PC, so lost my install of Corel Painter 2019. No problem, I thought, just go back to the website and redownload it using my registered number, just like with any other software.
On the site, I find my product but there's no way I can download 2019. Why?
Called Support... The lady didn't speak great English and the line was very crackly. We couldn't understand eachother. She asked me to call back. So I did. Now all I get is the "We're busy" message until it just goes blank at the 5 minute mark every time.
Can anybody help? I need this program to continue my work.
Few weeks later Edit Epilogue: I just wanted to greatfully thank the posters here for their help. I never expected the help I got. Reddit sometimes gets a bad rap, but sometimes it can be gold. Thanks to you all again.
I made a tutorial on Corel Painter paper textures: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y47d8UNtg8Q- How to create a paper from a texture in Corel Painter- How to create a custom paper library in Corel Painter- Best paper textures to use in Corel Painter- Fixing non-seamless textures in Corel Painter- Creating seamless textures for Corel Painter- How to use paper textures in Corel Painter- How to use Grainy Brushes in Corel Painter- How to use Dab Stencil Brushes in Corel Painter- Corel Painter texture bug (textures don't stay on brush)
And included some free textures which you can download from here: https://roxanelapa.gumroad.com/l/seamlesspapertextures

Hey!
I bought Corel Painter 2020 from Humble Bundle a while ago. I'm new to the program. I was poking around, and I unintentionally closed one of the windows on screen. I don't know what I closed, and I don't know how to bring it back. The only window I have on screen is "Color and Layer".
Is there a way to bring back the windows that are present on screen to how it was when I first installed it? I installed a few brushes that I got from Humble Bundle, and I don't want to uninstall the program and reinstall everything.
Also, on the note of brushes, where can I go to find the brushes I installed? I want to check if they installed properly.
I thank everyone in advance!
Or if not is there a way I would paint with the paper texture and then maybe delete the newly painted area to make it transparent? Thanks for any help I'm new to this
Since Corel painter started crashing on startup for me again, I reinstalled it and now the drawing I'm working on just gives me Bad riff data whenever I try to open it. I am seriously at my wits end with this application because the same problems keep happening every month and just stopping me from doing anything. any way I can restore the data or get it to open?
Like a lot of people, I got the Corel humble bundle a few months back and have finally got round to figuring out the software.
Part of the bundle was was various brush packs, but when I try to import them to painter via the the brush pallette, it was telling me "no compatible files". After a lot of googling/YouTube etc, I thought I would try and import them as textures. This seemed to work for some of the "brush packs", but when I tried to use them, it simply showed the preview in the top left corner of the canvas, and I couldn't "paint" with them like some tutorials showed.
The brush packs contain .nib and .STK files and some also contain .jpg and XML documents.
Am I being an idiot and trying to add something that is only meant for one of the other programs in the bundle? I can't seem to find any information online.
I’ve tried everything recommended in all the articles and nothing. PE 8 works just fine, but I really don’t want to shell out 50$ for a program that I have already paid for. That’s ridiculous. Plus it stopped working very suddenly after 307 days of use. I did not update my Mac, it just decided it doesn’t want to open anymore.
I've downloaded corel painter 2021 to test the trial period and the only tool available right now is a kanvus light 64. The problem is that corel painter is not recognising the pressure of the pen at all. Does anyone have any tip ?
Hi
I am a Corel Painter 2016 user. Is it really worth upgrading to 2021?
Also, is it possible to turn a favorite brush into a (?):
Thanks in advance,

I noticed that skin is harder to paint when trying to do so. I usually work in black and white so this is quite new to me.
Alrighty, this is probably a basic one but here it is.
I've got a layer that's drawn and I need to paint on top of it without going outside the edges that are already there.
So I need to make the layer above it not go outside the bounds of the one directly underneath.
This could probably be done with masks but I honestly have no idea how.
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
I was going through a painting tutorial and I noticed that they were using a brush called "Real Fan Short" brush that was in the oil section. I cant find it in painter 2020, what would be the closest thing to it?
Greetings, any idea why, in Painter 2020, when I select the Flow Map - Texture brush from Dab Stencils, select layer content, create a new layer: the brush only paints in the upper left corner of the selection?
If I switch to another brush, e.g. the digital air brush, it paints over the entire selection so it's something specific to the brush/flow map.
I haven't been able to find what setting(s) would constrain it like that.
I've posted a picture and a link to a video demonstrating the issue.
Thanks in advance!

Anyone know of good (free or cheap) tutorials on the ins and outs of Corel Painter? I feel like I’ve looked extensively but not found any that really go through all the tools and settings and what not of the program.
For example, I was messing around with making a logo, and using the font/text isn’t exactly user friendly at times. I put a cast shadow on it, and accidentally moved the shadow somehow, but no idea what I did.
So I feel like it would be good to see a tutorial on the ins and outs of the program. Hopefully I’m making sense! Lol.
I just got corel a few weeks ago and want to color digitally. I noticed that info on this software and how to paint with it step by step are in short supply. Where can I find examples of how to paint?

Asking for a friend of mine - sometimes when she flips the canvas, her program sometimes automatically selects and goes to the Canvas layer after flipping - is there any solution for this?
so I had to uninstall Corel since it took up too much space on my computer yet it still there while other software was easily gone
I have Corel Painter Essentials 7 and no matter how many times I drag my layers panel to wear I want to dock it will stay there. Everything I look up says drag it to where you want and it snaps into place, it does the snapping into place part but not the sticking part. It's such a small but annoying issue because I don't usually draw with it opened up to full screen.
Thanks for any advice!
All of my blending brushes are adding pigment, not blending. It is only putting down black. I cannot change the color.
I have: Restored default variants on individual brushes
And all default variants
Restarted the program
Checked every blending tool I can find. They all add pigment.
This is on a normal layer.
I'm assuming i changed some setting accidently as blenders were functioning just fine last I used them.
I took a look through the blender settings but I am just not familiar enough with this program to understand the problem.
If anyone knows what I did, or how to fix it, i would love your help.
Hi All,
Does anyone know whether Painter will take advantage of Apple's GPU's for Brush Acceleration? I know this is dependent on the brush. If you were constrained to talking about models sold in the same year, would upgrading to a Mac Pro give you a worthwhile performance boost (over as Macbook Pro or iMac), especially for Thick Paint brushes?
Thanks!
Is there a way to have multiple commands attached to a single keyboard shortcut? I'd like to have a clear all which selects all from the current layer/canvas, clear it, and then select none all with just one shortcut key.

Hello, I tried every default watercolor brushes in Corel Painter 2020 but I can't find a good suitable brush I like. The perfect brush would be the one in this photoshop watercolor tutorial : https://youtu.be/MrGNiDdIR9o?t=267 This is the result I would like to get.
Another good result would be with the 3 brushes in this other video : https://youtu.be/L6wtRQbhODc?t=710 There are Kyle's Real watercolor brushes for photoshop.
Any help to get the same result in Corel Painter would be appreciate.
