Hello, do you know what is the best box to install coreelec with plugins and arctic fuse for less than 50€ ?
Found a nokia 8010 box at 100$ new, would that make sense to buy or just go for the am6b plus?
Just planning on using it for remuxes, nothing else and will be using it with an external drive connected, kinda sucks that the 8010 will need one usb port for running coreelec, unless i can run it on the same external drive i copy my remuxes too🤔.
But again, does the price difference make it worth?
Bonjour, Je viens de commander un Ugoo am6b+ pour lire des films sur ma TV LG g4 avec CoreElec. Quel skin me conseillez-vous ? J'aimerai un skin joli avec les notes des utilisateurs, les infos des films et surtout les logos biens visibles tels que DolbyVision, Atmos, HDR10 etc Merci d'avance pour vos conseils 😊
While PM4K is great I like this more but nething is for everyone. This essentially uses Plex to create your Kodi so this uses Plex's scraper while playing files over the network using Kodi's player. I tried several formats, including DV P7 FEL and both DTS HD MA and Atmos embedded in a Dolby TrueHD so exactly the same to PM4K. I disabled transcoding and if you already have your data sources setup similar to Plex you really don't have to do much.
You need a valid Plex account,, (I got Plex lifetime pass the year it came out for 25 bucks so I have no idea what free gets you with Plex) or a friends. Below are some of the features. The main reason I installed it was for Chromecast abilities, only from the Plex app though as I wanted to be able to do voice commands through home assistant and use PlexMeetsHomeAssistant. . All features are controllable, app has lots of settings, and the code is open source
If you decide to do this READ INSTRUCTIONS, it's straight forward but are 3 minor cavities if you decide to install this you will have to enable unknown sources in repositories languages.

Hi everyone,
I have just bought the Ugoos AMB6B+ and installed CoreELEC, but I am completely new to it all. I got it mainly for DV And TrueHD audio support however I will be using it for watching movies primarily in general, so the DV stuff seems to be working great so far, the problem I’ve had is actually a 1080p blu ray play back (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)it is defaulting to 59.94fps when it should be 23.98 which is resulting in weird motion smoothing and each time the movies cuts to a different angle it looks super warpy for lack of a better word, it’s very strange. I have white listed 23.98 for both 4K and 1080p but when I select 23.98 it’s like it’s in slow motion. Any idea what’s going on? Thanks!
I was asked to make a video showing how to create a CoreELEC OS to use on an Android media player.
I have a network share with a couple of Dolby Vision FEL movies on a network share. When I try to play them, it just stutters and audio comes out of sync. Is the bitrate just too high for network shares or is it something else? I am on a Dune HD Homatics Box R 4k Plus with the latest nightly CE-NG.
Edit: I would like to add that it only stutters and comes out of sync on DV FEL media. DV MEL plays fine.
I am new to CoreELEC and have a couple of FEL movies that I am testing with. Are there any kind of on screen stats that can tell me if FEL is playing? These are raw Blu-ray files and I start the playback with index.bdmv
Basically I tried installing Coreelec and pkc to get the best of both worlds and get Fel p7 working. Everything works, but files take ages to open(2-3 min at least), whereas using SM they play immediately. Using pkc on shield also plays files in seconds. Direct paths work, but also tried add-on paths. Either way it doesn't work correctly. Pm4k straight out refuses to play stuff, but I would rather not use it anyway. Not sure what more I can do in this case. I tried wifi and ethernet, but it doesn't matter as the plex dashboard says the file is played locally @107mbps Ideally I want to use it with PKC or not at all... Is there anything I can do?
Ugoos
plays all audio and video (including dv 7 fel)
plays all audio and video (excluding dv 7 fel)
plays all audio and video (excluding dv 7 fel)
The letter extension specifies the additional licenses the SOC has: -J : Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Vision -K : Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, Dolby Vision
https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/best-device-for-coreelec-in-2024/52405/93
I also was reading that the am8 pro (and sk1?) may never get “Profile 7 FEL” due to licensing issues or module missing from the kernel. So, if that’s the case and I went for the am8pro/sk1 would that mean I only miss out on “Profile 7/FEL” only or is there something I have missed (audio codecs missing also?)
In regards to the "performance boost", I see it may also come to am8 pro/sk1 if dev manages to get things working. So are devs now moving towards the am8pro/sk1 and perhaps it would make sense to purchase one of those devices at this stage?
I’m leaning towards NOT worth the effort. If given 8 hours of admin time, it is probably better spent on bringing up new S928X SoC than to chase our tails on this.
Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 8.1, dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, no metadata compression, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, Version HDR10, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, Version HDR10, HDR10 compatible”
Not sure if this makes a difference or not but I finally got a 4k tv (LG G2) and a 2nd hand Sony HT-A700 (7.1.2) sound bar from eBay so just wanted to make sure I have it all right as its quite a lot to wrap my head around. All these Amlogic look so similar its hard to keep up.
Dolby Atmos Supported
Dolby Digital Supported
Dolby Digital Plus Supported
Dolby TrueHD Supported
DTS Supported
DTS:X Supported
DTS-HD MA Supported
PCM Channels Up To 7.1
With the above setup and the TV doesnt support all the audio formats (while the soundbar does) I was planning on it going ugoos > soundbar > tv…is that right? The LG G2 review on rtings says “”Dolby Vision - Yes” does that means all profiles?
I’m sorry for this wall of text but any advice would be really appreciated. I’m tempted to go for the newer hardware (am8pro/sk1) as I’m so late to the train and I’m worried the am6+ will soon get replaced by one of the newer models.
Yes, it has the update on it blocking the exploit- still, any direction on how to proceed? Thanks.
So I am constantly having issues with plex and Nvidia Shield (official client latest for android tv) or also Ugoos AM6B+ Coreelec with the unofficial plex client. Yes, I have plex pass.
The current big issue since I mostly gave up on the ugoos is the shield plex app is buggy especially with 4k blurays but also some other random shows. I don't transcode. I play directly and I try to enforce this on both the server (truenas scale with k3s plex latest version). One big issue is I get the error something like "this media cannot be played" while the media is playing in the background so it certainly can be.
Other issues I often have is sound not synced with the video fixed by going back and back in (verry annoying), random weird helicopter noises normally fixed by restarting the app, issues where the client cannot find my server on the LAN, and I have to reboot the device for it to work, and other random issues with playback and stuttering (this is on gigabit ethernet there should be no issues) and often I have to delete the cache and force stop and then relogin, and then magically the performance is back. Honestly I am getting sick of having to do reboots, and keep resining in and constantly having random problems. A good chunk of this is probably related to 4k and Dolby vision but once again "this media cannot be played" happens with regular SD tv shows also. Everything is set to not transcode, don't give me suggestions, play at the normal resolution on both client and server etc. I don't think there is much more I can do/set.
A lot of the time the stuttering makes little sense. Sometimes 100mbps stuff plays fine then it buffers and has issues with a 60mbps title, which then maybe I clear the cache and sign in again and it works fine. I am about at my wits end with fiddle farting with this over and over and my family is at their wits end with only me being able to use the TV and having to troubleshoot almost daily.
On the ugoos I was having serious stuttering issues (never mind system issues I think with coreelec itself), plus the display led dolby vision didn't work a great chunk of the time. There would be shadow issues and weird color issues galore.
Any help would be great.
If anyone has either of the boxes listed below and is running CoreELEC, their's a developer who needs people to test a new DTB for their device, so far users are reporting around 25% uplift, once the developer is happy that it's not messing anything up, he's hoping to do a PR for nightlies.
from my understanding this will affect all CoreELEC boxes in the future. Normally you have to upgrade for those kind of performance increase so this is amazing news. here is the message if anyone is interested and link to CoreELEC thread below
All DTB files with g12b. Please report back with your findings of lscpu and cpu usage. Data and metrics are preferred.
For e.g. using software decode VC-1 used to consume 50% CPU across cores 0-5 but after update it consumes 20% on core 0-1 and 65% on core 2-5. Something like this is ideal if you are able to get data like that.
Complete quantified data can be had if there are perf binaries compiled for CE-NG.
cc: u/saxman can you post lscpu output after this update

I have all the stuff ready in github, as soon as I have enough confidence I am creating a PR and it will be pushed to nightlies.
if anyone with either of those hardware is able and willing to test those and report back on CoreELEC thread or just post here so I can pass on that informaiton would be awesome

these are just the DTB files he's modified, this should work with all CoreELEC devices I believe if this PR get's merged into CoreELEC, exciting developement!
so far on my hardware it seems around 25% performance uplift
Is dualboot possible with the onn 4k tv pro from android tv back to CorrElec easily?
Also what will happen when trying to play native DV profile 7 on core elec with the ONn 4k pro?
Hi,
Ran into a small annoyance: After checking out Aiden's Rom and Smartbox TV on my s905x3 box (h96 max x3) I noticed the reboot from emmc option in coreelec/kodi is not working when the box is flashed with smartbox TV, nor if I flash the original firmware on it again. Funny enough, it does work when Aiden's Rom is burned to the eemc - If I remove the sd card it also boots in whatever is flashed to the eemc. I reckon this has something to do with the bootloader not playing nice with what coreelec tells it to do, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any ideas? TIA
I recently got a Ugoos AM6b+ and used this guide to install and run CoreELEC on it:
https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/guide-s922x-j-ugoos-am6b-coreelec-installation-and-faqs/51231
Everything went well and its doing most of what I want it to. But now I'm trying to get it working with my universal remote (SofaBaton X1S) and running into one issue.
I've set the SofaBaton X1S up as a bluetooth keyboard pair to the CoreELEC box. Most of the commands and navigation are mapped properly and working as intended except for the home button. As a workaround for now, I can just hit the back button a bunch of times, but I would rather find a proper fix for jumping straight to home.
To troubleshoot, I connected a USB keyboard to the box and tried that out as well. Again, all other commands are working except home. Which makes me think that it is an issue with keyboard mapping in CoreELEC and not an issue with any particular keyboard/remote.
How to I map a keyboard key to jump to the home screen when I press it?
Am I supposed to edit this remote.conf file?:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CoreELEC/remotes/master/AmRemote/Ugoos%20UR-01/remote.conf
If so, what edits do I need to make?
If I was to get the ugoos am6b + with CoreELEC installed, would I get any benefit getting this if my tv doesn’t support Dolby vision.
Hello, my friend got this box from AliExpress. I would like to put him CoreELEC there, but got problem that I can’t make remote control working. And also audio is not working too. Version is right for hardware. Any suggestions what to do? At least the audio? Thank you
I’m using a Ugoos AM6b+ with Core ELEC directly connected to my LG G3 OLED and the TV is reporting an 8bit signal when playing back my 4k blu rays ripped to MKV. Is that correct? I was thinking those would playback in 10bit or 12bit. Idk, maybe I’m wrong.
I recently bought a pi 5 and I was wondering will this work with a pi 5?
Hey, recently got the Ugoos AM6B Plus, running CoreELEC. I have configured everything correctly, and it accurately passes through lossless audio in DTS and TrueHD, but not FLAC. When I play movies with FLAC sound, there is no sound output at all. I have enabled all the audio passthrough boxes in the audio settings, still nothing. It plays music audio in FLAC tho, without issues.
Long story short, I currently have a shield pro I use to playback my MKVs I ripped myself but I know I don’t get DV 7 FEL out of it. If I bought a device for the only purpose to playback my MKVs with DV 7 FEL, would I notice an actual improvement? A Ugoos device running CoreELEC would seem like the path I would take if it’s worth it.
Current config: Shield Pro -> Arcam AVR11 -> LG C9 OLED
Can suggest me hardware for coreelec that have this :
Dolby vision, Hdr10plus, hdr10
Dolby Atmos, Dolby Truhd, Dts Ma, Dts Hd-ma, Dts-x, lossless audio
Dolby vision profile 7 and other profile support
Gigabit lan
Wifi 6 Ax
minimum 3gb ram
usb 3.0 port
can passthrough lossless audio
4k uhd netflix, disney, amazon prime etc
I have a few of these and I am really happy with them. I do however plan to buy some new devices and looking for a suggestions..
Im sorry for asking here but i dont know where to ask this question.
can anyone help me what is like coreelec but can use Stremio and Kodi?
Curious whether anyone has compared various boxes capable of running coreELEC, and found that some sound better or have better picture quality-payiung the exact same files via the same codecs and payback gear? Or, is it just a bits is bits scenario?
If so, which ones?
Hello all,
I have Geniatech ATV598MAX product that has been rebranded for Lithuanian GO3 internet tv. It is already after warranty years and not used anymore. On geniatech page https://www.geniatech.com/product/atv598max/ it say:
"We can provide DVB Stack/API for customers to integrate into their own launcher or firmware."
After starting device with reset button pressed, I am welcomed with bootloader (I think) menu.
And when I try a lot of different images to "Apply update from EXT" it just says the footer is wrong.
Does anybody know how to unclock this device?
I used https://coreelec.org/#download .img from this one. Still the same. I just got pictures of other
I had CoreElec installed on an X96mini, although I can’t remember what version it was. The last time anyone logged into it was 2017 for context. I’m trying to do a fresh install of Omega but I’m not having any luck. I remember having to use the 1g image even though the box label said 2g of Ram. Now, no matter what version I do, I get a black screen, with the exception of the S905W2 2g which got stuck on the stock boot screen. Is my box too ancient, or does it need updated firmware or something? Feeling lost. Also is there a definitive way to figure out which specific model S905 box it actually is so I’m not having to try every single one?
I recently ordered a Nokia 8010 and I plan on flashing it to CoreElec (as it can't run de-Googled Android) and I'm looking for a private YouTube client. On regular Linux I use FreeTube and on Android NewPipe.
Thanks!
As it is known, the 2nd generation of the mi box has an amlogic s905x4 processor, and under normal conditions, corelec should be installed. Has anyone tried this?
