The county with the most Facebook groups in the world.

Born in coos, lived here my whole life. Any locals know of any abandoned spots? I’d be willing to trade some knowledge if you have any interesting ones. Dm me or comment. Preferably like to keep them away from the masses. Thx
I'm looking for cleaning gigs! Lawn care for my husband and we only charge 20hr with references. References from California as we recently relocated.
Hey all, I'll be in coos bay next week through early March for rotation in the emergency department. My schedule allows me to have a few days off each week and I would love to explore everything Coos bay and the surrounding areas have to offer. I'm 27 (soon to be 28 while i'm there, any good bar reccomendations?) and love being outdoors, exploring, sports, and craft beer. I would like to try out fishing/crabbing if possible. Also looking for places to meet other like minded people!
Is there any fellow pilots in here?
Let’s brainstorm, people! The residents of Coos County need some beauty in their lives. Warrenton just got an Ulta and we still don’t have one. I know all the idiots on Facebook are hung up on us getting Applebees or Olive Garden or whatnot but we seriously don’t need anymore restaurants. How do we get an Ulta here? Any ideas??
It won't be long until the hordes of tourists flood our beautiful area. I know this upcoming time of year is a great for the local economy and I really don't have issues with those who come here. I just get frustrated with all that comes along with this time of year, The garbage/litter all over the place, traffic, traffic and yes more traffic...
What are some of the things everyone else does to get through the season without pulling your hair out.
Im new to the area, I ride a exc250, im a bit rusty on the bike, fairly beginner in dunes, I enjoy trail riding. I dont like to leave behind litter, and I like adventure. IF anybody has a need for a new riding buddy, I'm available on the weekends.
Just as a heads-up, user and post flair has now been enabled for this subreddit.
What is user flair?
It's a little blurb that appears under your username in posts and comments. It's meant to tell others something about yourself. For instance, you may see "Coos Bay" next to or under my username. User flair is completely optional.
How do I add or change my user flair?
Go to the subreddit's main view, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner, and you'll see "Change user flair". You can select an area where you reside, or go to EDIT in the upper right and can modify the text to whatever you want. It doesn't even have to be location specific. To change user flair in a browser, you'll see "USER FLAIR" on the right side of the main subreddit page. Any suggestions for adding more pre-selectable user flairs to the list are welcomed. Also note that you can add emojis to your flair. If you have a custom SFW emoji you would like to be available to all, message me and I should be able to add it.
What's post flair?
Post flair tells others what kind of post you're posting about. Current flair options are PSA, Question, In Search Of, General, and Event. Note that post flair is also optional, but we could make it mandatory if people think this would be beneficial. Any suggestions for any other post flair topics is also welcomed.
How do I add post flair?
You'll see a link under the post title that reads "Add flair and tags". Click on that and you'll be able to add post flair.
Does anyone have roofing contractors they'd recommend (or warn against)?
Editting to say thank you for the recommendations. Y'all are very appreciated!
Anyone know of a good voice coach for a pre-teen?
I’m 19 and looking for friends to hangout with in Coosbay, maybe even some spirited driving
I’ve been reading quite a few posts & comments of how “bad” it is living there. There was a recent poster who listed a site where you can see the arrests of (mostly) sex offenders in Coos/North Bend area & is it me or does the # of those criminals seem to be out of proportion to the actual population?? I’m a single, senior female so I’m worried for my safety. Is it generally an unsafe area (as far as coastal towns) & if you’re a resident there, are there things I need to watch out for and/or avoid doing like being out in the evenings? I’m going to have to work a job (part time) so I know I may be coming & going during the evenings.. Does the area change @ night? Just to let you know, I’m coming from a burb of Chicago which has our share of crime & then some so I’m pretty street savvy, always locking doors, not leaving windows open in my house, not talking to strangers or telling them I live alone, etc. And when I do have to go out @ night, my head is always on a swivel.. When I’m walking back to my car, I never go near it if there’s a van parked next to me.
I live in North Bend, and been here for a few years now. I work remote, and would like to network with other people in the area that are into data analytics (as analysts or data scientists), business owners/entrepreneurs, etc.
Is there any type of meetup or groups that exist out there for this? I know that there are Chamber of Commerce meetings but those are obviously more focused to local businesses and while I definitely shop & buy local, I'm trying to expand the scope a little to people who are likely working remote or working locally in areas that are highly focused around data, business performance, or entrepreneurship.
It seems like there are no reliable contractors in coos bay. Why do you think that is?
Does anyone know of any good contractors to help with a shower remodel that are helpful and will actually follow through after providing an estimate? It seems impossible to get in touch with anyone. Also do you need permits for a simple shower project? Thanks
I am looking for a local primary care doctor. Anyone have suggestions?
Found a small grey female tabby cat near Simpson Park on Christmas. Unfortunately not chipped. If you're missing a tabby please msg me.
Just a heads-up for anyone who frequents the Charleston Marina or boat launch (63534 Kingfisher Rd., 97420), there is a registered Level 3 Sex Offender living aboard a boat he owns in the marina. Name is Eric O'Grady and you can find him on the Oregon Sex Offender registry (https://sexoffenders.oregon.gov/Map).
The individual was convicted of two separate violent sex offense incidents, one in California in 2000 and another in Washington in 2009. He was run out of Newport two years ago after locals identified him and decided he was a bad fit around women and kids on the docks.
I'm a firm believer that everyone deserves a second chance, but this dude is an aggressive, selfish, dangerous piece of work that leaves a trail of destruction in his wake. If anyone has concerns about his presence at the marina, contact the marina manager (Ray Dwire, rdwire@portofcoosbay.com).
Between Saunders Lake and Tenmile heading north on 101 I noticed a memorial with a bass guitar on the right side of the road. Does anyone have any info on who it's for? I've only been able to catch a glimpse but I thought it was neat (and sad).
Coming at the end of December (after Christmas, before New Years). Need fun first date ideas that make me seem interesting.
We both like books, and to read. We both like cooking/baking.
She likes to dance. I have never danced in my life. She lives TV and movies.
I like to go on hikes/camping. I like old vintage/antique everything.
I’m from Portland btw.
I'm here for a few months for work, working in coquille, but I think I'd like to stay in coos bay area. Are there other nearby towns worth checking out? I'm just looking to be near a gym and a grocery store. Even a trailer/rv would do if it's clean. Budget is $1500, but the cheaper the better.
I know the odds are low... I'm interested in finding/buying artwork by a Coos Bay artist named Mitch Geisert. He was a family friend who died in the early 90s.
If anyone has any leads, I'd be the happiest person on earth.
Thanks!!
