Anyone have any websites or social media links for candidates in local races such as mayor and city council?
On November 5th, Arkansas will vote not just for President, but for Congress, and for state and local offices. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In Arkansas, you must register by October 7th to vote. You can register here: https://www.sos.arkansas.gov/elections/voter-information/voter-registration-information
##Voting in person
Arkansas has early in-person voting from October 21st to November 4th. You can vote early at your County Clerk's office - check their website for additional locations.
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on November 5th.
When voting in person, be sure to bring an accepted piece of ID
##Voting by mail
Some Arkansas voters qualify to vote by mail - see here for conditions. You can apply for an absentee ballot by mailing this form to your County Clerk (PDF).
Ballots must be received by November 5th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also personally deliver your absentee ballot to your County Clerk's office. If you deliver your absentee ballot in person, you must do so by November 1st, NOT the 5th!
If you mail your ballot, you can track it here.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
10 years in and we made it to our first Wampus Cat game. Had a great time. Friendly and pleasant people, a very enjoyable experience all around.
And a blowout win, to boot!
These two were digging something from the creek bed and crunching them. This was my first time ever seeing river otters. This was just inside the Salem Bridge construction area, on the north side.
Hi. This doesn’t have to be just Conway but I’m looking to get some anime tattoo work done around December this year. So now I’m searching. I’m willing to drive a bit (within 75 miles or so) for the right artist. Any recommendations?
Hey Everybody, I'm moving to Conway in a few months. I've been looking around to see if there are any places that offer table top war-gaming(Warhammer AOS/40K type stuff). I found a couple of nerd stores that offer products but no leagues or groups that play often. Does anyone happen to have a group/ league that they play often with that is looking for one more? Or would anyone be wanting to start a group or league?
Thanks!
Are there any consistently busy restaurants in Conway city limits? Looking for high volume and fast paced environment.
Found at the Dave Ward Walmart earlier today.
Instead of all of the back and forth we've been doing, let's just shut up, see the facts and behavior, and vote out the stupid!
Also, I apologize if this is not allowed here due to it being part of "politics", but I didn't see any rules against it.
For a 60 year old white dude (for context). Not concerned as much with price but quality. Thanks!
The city sprayed herbicide into the creek again today. No warning is posted but it is definitely unsafe for dogs.
While no city is perfect, if you have ever lived in Saline County, Conway should be leaps and bounds better for most people. Roads are better, city layout is better, and traffic (for the most part) flows better.
Additionally, it's awesome how close it is to many parts of Arkansas (especially an easy day trip to NWA Arkansas or Branson)
One of the best things has to be Conway Corp. Many folks who move away have told me that's a big thing they miss.
So let's be thankful for our city if you don't want to live here, I'm sure there will be two or three from out of town to take your place.
What's your favorite thing about Conway, and what's one thing you would like to see improved?
For those who say busses, or some better public transport, it's not going to get better than what we already have. The biking lanes and Central Arkansas Transit make it much more accessible. Not to mention sidewalks that are getting improved each day.
To end, my favorite thing would be the people of Conway. A ton of nice people from different backgrounds.
Something to improve? Possibly update the skatepark and have the parks staff monitor Don Owens/McGee a little better. This just takes "tone at the top" to set them on the right path.
Has anyone else here in Arkansas been failed by the state as a victim of domestic abuse? I have been systematically failed by judges, DHS, the local police, city attorney. It’s unreal. I have called local shelters, Women and Children First. At this point I don’t know what to do. I feel like I’m drowning. I’m scared to leave my house. I feel hopeless. DHS has told me they “want to get the file off their desk” and mailed the correspondence for the offender to my home. Has anyone else had the same experience? I mean at this point I am feeling like I’ve not been abused. I’ve lost every single friend I have had because he ran them off. Nobody returns calls or does their job. I’ve been passed off to everyone and nothing has been done. I filed a protective order that was denied. The police have been called because I’ve been on the phone and he was screaming at me. When they came they forced me to leave my home when I was pregnant and sick. No report was made. After they left he called the woman who called the police and told her “thank you” then texted me telling me that “he thought it was funny they made me leave my home and that I was a liar” how the police don’t believe me. There is a lot more to this and it’s too much to type but I am at a loss. Does anyone know how I can get anything done here?
i’m pregnant and trying to declutter my house a bit! i moved in not to long ago so i have lots of bigger furniture pieces im needing gone. A lot of it is new or older but in great condition. being pregnant limits my ability to move much of it. I also have so many clothes i can no longer fit and ik i will not fit ever again lol. some are nice name brands that haven’t been worn much (lots of skims) ideally i’d love to have a garage sell and make some profit but my neighborhood is so small with not much parking! i’ve also thought about facebook marketplace but it’s so sketch and i’d have to make so many different post! any ideas on how i can get rid of all this junk (but all not junk and profitable stuff) i’d love to be able to donate but financially i could really use the extra cash.
Yo, I’m Will, a rhythm guitarist with a love for metalcore, modern/Nu metal, and just a sprinkle of ‘90s metal. Always on the lookout for jam sessions that let the music take control—because you only live once, right? I’m all about those heavy riffs, epic breakdowns, etc.
Here’s the catch—I live in an apartment, so hosting loud-as-hell jam sessions isn't exactly in the cards unless I want my neighbors to hate me forever. BUT, we can totally collab here, crank out some killer riffs, and create music without blowing the windows out! But if you can host jam sessions that’ll be cool too!
It was open for what, 48 hours, then got fenced off? Not a great ROI for whoever did it.
Does anyone go there or like it? Dm to talk about it!
ISO. ..A few people to help us move! It's crapy timing (but why would I do anything anyway besides the hard way!) We ( 22 yo daughter & 18 yo son and I) have to be out of the Conway apt by the 1st & I'm have surg the 24th (I will not be able to lift anything heavy till at least the 1st!) Most of our items will be going into storage in Conway till our house (in Morrilton) is ready. We will be staying with a friend in Enola till then and there will be a few heavy items from her house that will need to be moved to make room.
During a recent stay at the Hampton Hotel in Conway, it became evident that a law enforcement operation was taking place, involving the luring of suspects into one of the rooms on-site. While I fully understand the importance of apprehending individuals involved in criminal activity, the manner in which this operation was conducted was both reckless and alarming. Multiple unmarked vehicles and undercover officers were easily identifiable, which calls into question the operational discretion of those involved. Given the nearly full capacity of the hotel, with families—including children—attending nearby events, the safety of innocent guests was clearly compromised. To clarify, I have no association with either the officers or the suspects, and I am not under investigation, nor have I engaged in any illegal activity. My concerns lie solely in the clear negligence displayed by both law enforcement and hotel management in allowing such a high-risk operation to take place in an environment densely populated with unsuspecting guests. The public, including myself, was unknowingly placed in a potentially volatile and dangerous situation, and that is wholly unacceptable. I recognize that law enforcement cannot disclose the details of ongoing operations to the public; however, the decision to conduct this type of operation within a fully operational hotel, teeming with innocent bystanders, reflects poor judgment and a severe lack of risk mitigation. There are more controlled environments—such as a volunteer’s residence, an event center, a less crowded hotel, or even renting out the entire hotel—that could have provided the same opportunity for arrest without endangering the safety of the public. Furthermore, there are suggestions that this operation may have been facilitated by private funding, which, if true, introduces an even more concerning element: prioritizing financial incentives over public safety. If private interests played a role in the decision to conduct this operation at such a high-risk location, then both law enforcement and hotel management are even more culpable for the negligent endangerment of their guests. The suspects undoubtedly needed to be apprehended, but the manner in which this was carried out was, in my opinion, a failure of both operational planning and hotel management. It is reasonable to expect that hotel management should reconsider allowing any future law enforcement operations without either renting out the entire hotel or, at the very least, securing the informed consent of guests who may unwittingly be placed in harm’s way. As a paying guest, I expect management to prioritize the safety and well-being of those staying at the property. In this instance, they failed in that duty. I strongly recommend that the hotel reconsider how they handle such high-risk operations in the future, and I hope that moving forward, greater care will be taken to ensure that guest safety is never compromised in situations of this nature.
I’m craving fried chicken
So back in the mid 2000s, the Corner Pantry sold bahama mama style spicy cheese filled sausage wrapped in a biscuit.
They no longer do this, and haven't for a LONG time. Does anyone else in town do something really close? The kolaches at Fresh Donuts on the corner of S German and Dave Ward are good, but nowhere near as good as those greasy little dogs.

My husband and our 3 young kids will be moving here from Houston,Tx next month. Looking for opinions from those that live there! Anything I need to be prepared for?
Anybody know of some good places to fish off the bank. I primarily like to catfish but love bass and crappie as well.
