/r/CommunistReadings
A subreddit to debate Marxism, Socialism and History
General guidelines
The thematic is broad: anything related to the history of communism/Marxism, philosophy classics and sociological inquiry is welcome in all formats (documentaries, lectures, articles, interviews). Example of a good submission: an article by a member of the Frankfurt School on the nature of fascism; a vid by Zizek with lots of snif snifs and so ons. Bad submission: anime or commentary on Chelsea's latest win. I short, we want thought provoking stuff, but beyond that be yourself and post what you feel will generate a good discussion. Links to interesting conversations in other sub also welcome.
Avoid stuff that might piss off other users. No Stalins,no 'tankies are stuck in the past', no 'anarkids do not understand theory' and other inflammatory stuff please. We tried it before and we all know how it went.
(Should go without saying but) do not downvote, use foul language or enter in meaningless foodfights. We are all grown up. This place is for exchange of ideas and disagreeing with arguments and evidence.

Anymore I mean. It feels like their rise to fame was because of capitalism.

I'm a part of an online communist bookclub that's run through discord, and I'd like to let people know that we'll be starting our next book in just over a week, so right now is the perfect time to join!
We'll be reading The German Revolution by Pierre Broue. We decide as a group how much of the book we should read each week, and then Saturdays at 7pm EST we discuss what we've read. We also do a live reading and discussion through voice chat every Sunday at 5pm EST, but that'll be starting The German Revolution much later.

Hey, we're a group of leftists and communists that do weekly public meetings. The problem right now is that there's not enough of us lol and its why we're asking around if more people are interested. We have one this wednesday about "what communism actually means and why you should be one" and "the revolutionary organization according to the Argentinian marxist Nahuel Moreno - part 2".
