Hi, I am at the verge of moving to the coast. My normal books have been damaged by the humidity, as well as most metal things i own have been rusted in a month. I have now moved my comic books. They are in the original packaging. Are they safe? If not, how do I make them safe?

Stan broke the 4th wall to agree (DD #33). You can see his influence in all that came after him.
Finally got around to reading the one-shot DC POWER: Rise of the Power Company. Set in the aftermath of DC’s recent Absolute Power event, it’s how many Black heroes specifically are trying to find their place when there’s a new normal being created while there’s still some rising anti-hero sentiment and the Power Company, which existed before, is in the process of being re-formed.
But you don’t really need to know any of that in order to enjoy this comic. There’s a series of incredible stories with some great lineups—I loved the Cyborg & Green Lantern Jo Mullein story (and it only made me mourn the ending of Far Sector that much more).
But the story with Jace Fox Batman & the Signal had to have been my favorite, especially when they had a honest rooftop discussion about it meant to be Black and also be a Bat-character and how that brought them together.
I know that the Power Company: Recharged series is coming up in April, and after this comic your interest will no doubt be heightened. But this comic by itself is definitely worth reading.
For those of you who have read this, what did you think?
I ask this because when searching on YouTube what does manga do better then comics I found many results (a lot of video had really good points some not so much) but whenever I tried to search up what does American comics do better then manga I got basically limited results I could only find videos kinda talking about but never one video(there probably is one video but still need to look for it), so I decided to just ask the question here because while I love manga(record of raganrok for instance) it isn’t perfect and there something’s manga can learn from American comics.
just curious
cause there are probably excellent writers but end up with a so-so artist
what comic run is a good example?
From 2012 to 2018 Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples released 9 issues a year consistently at a very high level. They got burnt out which is of course fair enough and take 4 years off. They then promise a new schedule of 6 months of saga and than a 6 month break they do this once with delays between issues then take another year off before returning with the latest arc.
The art is still high quality but the writing has been nowhere near the previous quality with it being the weakest arc the comic has had. On top of that basically every issue has been delayed multiple times with this final issue being delayed by about 4 months and it keeps getting delayed every two weeks or so.
I think they should look to wrap up the series with the next arc. They will not get to 108 issues at this rate. Brian seems to be completely burnt out on the series.
Having never had comics I wanted to try out what the comic world had to offer. On searching YouTube I decided to start with new avengers as it was highly rated and recommended as a good starting point. I got hold of Michael Bendis volumes.
On reading turns out there are storylines missing. For example, in the third volume, it starts off talking about the skrull invasion and a comic later the invasion is done and we’re looking at jessica jones’ missing baby? I do realize that comics have certain storylines spanning over different comics But I assumed that comic volumes would be Complete stories however they are not.
are there complete sets of comics that I can go over and enjoy without trying to figure out what to read and in what order.
everything ive found online says to use G-mart, midtown comics, or mycomicshop. but i cannot for the life of my figure out how to subscribe to a comicbook series and get the new issues automatically, on any of those sites. ive spent the last 3 hours trying to get this figured out before making this post. i cant find any videos of someone actually showing how to do it...
on g-mart, if you click subscribe it looks like its only gunna send you one issue, it doesnt saying anywhere at all anything about it costing more than the 1 issue, or that more issues will ever get sent to you when they get released. on certain comics it even has you pick the cover variant, so im pretty sure that means its only gunna be 1 comic and not every upcoming issue
on mycomicshop, no upcoming comics i want even show up in search! specifically, eddie brock carnage and predator vs spider-man
on midtown comics, you can search for individual issues, but it seems there is no way to see a whole series much less subscribe to it to get the new issues. if i search up an individual issue, there is no button to see the whole series. so it seems impossible to subscribe to a series if that site doesnt even has pages for series
my closest comic book shop is over an hour away in all directions from where i live. why is it sooo hard to buy comics?!?
Seriously, I've tried to wrap my head around this and I got nothing. This is Hawkman just after preventing a Thanagarian superweapon from detonating during "Invasion!"
Now, I can shrug at minor things like the JLI calling Hawkman by the wrong name, because that's simple to headcanon away. But there's no simple fix for this. This guy can't be Carter Hall - He was still trapped in a Nazi timeloop with the rest of the JSA, and wouldn't know Thanagarian technology besides. It can't be Fel Andar, because he's in league with the Thanagarians and would not stop the bomb from the detonating, because it would defy his orders. And it can't be Katar Hol, because he hadn't arrived in Earth yet. So... Who exactly was this "Hawkman"? Does any book have answers?
Hello, does anyone know of any comic book shops that ship physical comics to Guam?
Like the title said! I saw it a long time ago, so I can't remember the exact details, but it's quite a recent cover with a kite stuck in a tree and I think... It's either baby Clark's, or Superman is helping someone get a kite from a tree or... Something. Anyone know what on Earth I'm talking about?
I want to read the Invincible comics and I'm looking at buying the compendiums. I know at one point Spider-Man shows up but the show replaced him with Agent Spider
Is the crossover collected in any of the compendiums?Either the normal ones or the Invincible Universe one?
Hey follow up from my post a few days ago. According to what I found, Siegel and Shuster had a largely positive view on the creative directions taken by later creators despite their legal grievances with DC and specifically acclaimed several stories, Including The Death Of Superman. One thing I am still pondering however; is that since many now core elements of the Superman Lore were devised after their initial run; including directly afterwards.
Concepts such as The Fortress and Kryptonian powers being solar based and negated on their homeworld may have never been implemented by them; let alone even the Silver Age introductions like Brainiac, Parasite etc. I’ve already read The K Metal from Krypton, which would’ve drastically changed the characters default status who had it been published; but I’m curious what other ideas and developments would have potentially been added instead of the ones that did.
Thanks for any answers
I'm wondering how much off the market price is usually considered a "dealer price" on NM copper-age books today. Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thank you!

I’ve been a comic book fan and have recently started to collect them! I’ve seen the Peach Momoko comic book covers and I’m wondering what places might sell them online?
Written and drawn by Frank, 1st things he ever did back in the late 80's, bought most of the issues as they came out, I knew immediately that I was buying something pretty special and that Quitely was gonna go on to huge things.
All these years later and he is still my favourite artist 🥰
Would you accept an average increase of a dollar? More? Would you keep your purchasing of new comics at the same level, cut back, or stop reading entirely?
Hey was thinking about this so wanted to ask; I’ve always liked Ant-Man/Giant Man/Goliath/Yellowjacket alongside Scott Lang using the moniker but I’ve always been aware that the infamous storyline involving Hank Pym as Yellowjacket had sullied the characters perception for decades; despite often being posted without the context behind the slap and/or the fact that Pym’s actions were both the result of psychosis and were treated very seriously with The Avengers removing him from the time.
But I’ve known the character to be used actively since then and to have redeemed himself both in and out the story world, alongside the character having previous been a founding Avenger with a regular place on the team and his own solo adventures. Scott Lang has been a fairly popular character in the comics even before the MCU and was actually Ant-Man far longer in terms of actually using the mantle. So I’m curious as to how popular Ant-Man and the Wasp were back in the Silver Age and whether Hank Pym under any identity has had specific peaks in popularity or fan reception over the years?
Thanks for any answers
Thought this was neat :) from ~2019 never really opened! Just wanted to show off this
