Have attended some shows in the last one year, Abhijit Ganguly, Kanan Gill, Urooj Ashfaq, Aakash Gupta, Prashasti Singh, Siddharth Dudeja, Gaurav Gupta. And I have been quite a regular comedy audience since 2013 - early days..and I expected to see an improvement curve in the material, instead have only been seeing a downward slope with the quality of material.
A lot of the comics take the audiences majorly for granted recycling reaaaaaally old material and their topics have not evolved since over 5 years. And they pass off extended audience interaction as 'material'. Barely anyone has anything really insightful to say.
Am I missing something ? Can you'll suggest some really good comics that I can go watch in Bangalore. Is standup a dying art already ? I reaaaallly love it. I hope that's not the case.
P.S. Karunesh, Prashasti, Aakash Gupta were fucking fantastic though. The rest there wasn't much to write home about honestly. I mean it hurts to pay 800+ for tickets and then get 'arey aap dono couple ho ya ladki ne ladke ko friendzone Kiya hai' eww.
P.P.S apologies for being an armchair commentator. But there aren't very many interesting things to do in Bangalore and if options like standup go out of the window, I will not be stepping out much. So for the sake of my Vit D levels, let me know some good underrated comedy shows.
