Released in August 1982, ColecoVision offered near-arcade-quality graphics and gaming style along with the means to expand the system's basic hardware with modules, such as one to add support for Atari 2600 games.
All non-ColecoVision games and hardware are also welcome here. From handhelds to Telstar. If it has the Coleco name on it, it's all good.

Im working on a CV thats had a few problems that I've been able to solve, but the last one has got me scratching my head.
When I first power it on, composite video works for about 2-3 seconds, then eventually drops out.
On my scope I can see that my driving signal for my video output drops in intensity quickly after powering on. Basically the gate signal still looks good, its just not big enough.
I'm kinda leaning towards replacing Q3 and maybe C69. Q6 maybe? My Y signal is stable from U9.
I've already done a full recap of all the electrolytic caps.
Anyone seen this before?
TIA
I recently purchased a Colecovision console in "working" condition from a garage sale, but of course I cannot get it to work.
I have the original power supply and a working yellow RCA cable that I am using with the Colecovision adapter. I plugged the coax end of the adapter into the TV and plugged the RCA cable into the adapter and the console.
After flipping through channels and switching between channel 3 and 4 on the back of the console, I can't get anything beyond a scrolling static screen.
I tried cleaning the board and the switches with 99% isopropyl alcohol but still got no results.
Help to troubleshoot whats going on would be appreciated. I'm not too familiar with older plugs and inputs and things of that nature, so if I've mislabeled some things, let me know and I'll try to explain.
Both connection points seem to be intact, and even when surfing the web, I've come up empty handed on a solution. I'm a Gen-Zer, so I don't really know all the tips and tricks that legacy Coleco Vision owners would have known. I swear I'm not stupid 😭😭😭😭😭
Hello, I apologize if this has already been asked. I have two consoles, one of which I'm pretty sure doesn't work but the other one might and I'd like to test it. We don't have a smart TV (we have a Samsung but it's not a smart TV) What kind of adapter do I need to get so I can hook up my console to see if it works? My dream is to get this thing working and relive my teenager days! ☺️ I have a lot of games, although I regret selling some of them years back. Thanks in advance!
Service Merchandise! I’d forgotten about that store. Adjusted for inflation it would cost $642 today. It still works almost 43 years later
I took 6 hours putting this together, thought it be the perfect games to port to a ColecoVision
Hello everyone. I have a question that I’m hoping someone might have an idea. Been working on a Colecovision and its issues. Main one I’m having now is no color on screen. Although when module 1 is plugged in, it’s fine. I believe the module bypasses all circuitry but still runs through the RF modulator? Could this be an issue with one of the video RAM?
Hi, I am trying to build a retro gaming machine out of my old laptop. I've installed both retrobat and launchbox to see which ones I like better.
My question is, were there any colecovision games that used the keypad during gameplay?
Because I tried mapping an original controller to be able to use that controller, and apparently both Retrobat and Launchbox have a mind of their own, and force you to use THEIR controller settings.
Which would be all right if the games don't actually require the keypad during gameplay.
For example, on the Intellivision, some games require use of the keypad to shoot at enemies during gameplay. Instead of the usual fire button, you use the keypad to control the direction of fire. So you have to have an original Intellivision controller mapped to be able to play those games properly.
However every Colecovision emulator I have tried, only lets you use a separate numeric keypad, such as on your keyboard. Which is fine if you only need the keypad to select number of players, difficulty level, etc.
So that's what I want to know. Are there Colecovision games that require the use of the keypad during gameplay, like for directional shooting, etc?

Hi. I'm looking for a good multi cart for colecovision. I'm considering picoleco and rhenatarimax carts. I know backbit pro also exists, I have one, but already had some bad experience with that cart as it arrived from the USA to Europe with a damaged not working SD cart slot. Shipping and import fees to order the colecovision adapter for it will put just the adapter for bbpro near the same price as me just buying a complete flash cart specific for colecovision, so I honestly don't think I want the bbpro adapter for it. The adapter alone is $20, shipping is another $25, and then I will have to pay 31% taxes and some duties on top of that. I could save a few dollars with the DIY adapter but not much.
Therefore I'm considering the 2 in my post title
I don’t think so but I hoping I missed them while going over a game list that I have seen.
Just posting to recommend the Backbit multicart that i use on 4 vintage systems (atari 2600, atari 800xl, intellivision and colecovision) very good choice for people with multiple original hardware systems. If you have multiple systems you might want to check it out. Great support too.
I have seen a few PiColeco carts and are any ones better,/easier to use, I have seen sd card as well as usb carts, They also state that numerous preloads are already loaded on it, I guess this can be good but they do not specify what has been loaded, I also would want to download diagnostic and game programs, are these programs reliable and easy to install and use? Easy to find online? anyway thanks.....
Had my coleco console repaired and love it.... been looking at alternate joystick/hand controllers as well as extension wire for the controllers that will work with colecovision. any recommendation?
A lot of homebrews I see require it but I only see it on eBay for obscene prices. Is it an aftermarket product that just isn't being made anymore? Really sucks that so many homebrews require it
Hello All!
Am looking over a ColecoVision that my friend had sitting in his garage for decades and don't think I have ever seen as much separation on the conformal coating as I have here. It's all on the underside of the board.
Is it worth removing and resurfacing? This is all over the board!
