Cloud Rap refers to a form of rap whose distinguishing features include ethereal, dreamlike beats and abstracted, sometimes deliberately absurd, lyrics. Cloud Rap producers often rely on a heavy use of 808 drum machines, snare rolls, and random syncopation, revealing a strong influence from Southern Rap and Trap Rap. The term "Cloud Rap" is based on an anecdote involving Lil B, a pioneer of the genre, who once expressed a desire to make music that sounded like a castle floating in the clouds.
Cloud Rap refers to a form of hip hop whose distinguishing features include ethereal, dreamlike beats which often use wordless vocal samples, wherein singers harmonize or hold long notes, to produce a majestic effect and abstracted, sometimes deliberately absurd, lyrics. Cloud Rap producers often rely on unconventional sample sources, incorporating elements from Indie, Experimental, and Ambient songs into their beats. Heavy use of 808 drum machines, snare rolls, and random syncopation reveal a strong influence from Southern Hip Hop and Trap Rap. Cloud Rap artists tend to produce and release their material independently of major labels, often relying on the Internet as their primary means of distribution and promotion. The mannerisms of Cloud Rap vocalists have produced several catchphrases which listeners commonly associate with the genre, such as the interjection "swag" and references to being "based." I apologize if my English is not perfect, I am not from an English speaking country. I just really need some advice. I have been listening to rap music for about 8 years now (I’m 15), and ever since I heard my first rap song, I have known I wanted to be a musician. Now, as I am nearing 16, I want to pursue that dream.
The one thing holding me back is my accent. I really want to rap in English because I love the language so much, maybe even more than my native language. Unfortunately, I am from Austria, and while that might not seem like a big deal to some, I cant stand how my voice sounds when I rap (if you get what I mean).
So, I wanted to ask for some general advice on pursuing this dream. Also, do you think my accent will fade naturally if I keep practicing my rap voice and flow?
