Today I decided that I finally wanted to change my desktop wallpaper from the basic picture it used to be. I wanted it to be similar to the isometric "office" views that are more common on this subreddit, with the blank shelves for app icons and the desk and the space on walls to add images. Except I wanted a fantasy twist - some kind of wizard study or room at the top of a tower. My own personal control room over my world.

This is not what I had in mind, though it's the best image I could find online for a fantasy study. I'd make one myself but I'm not much of an artist... I wouldn't even know what application to make one with. Any tips?

I have some experience with both Blender and Photoshop and will be taking requests from you to produce new interactive wallpapers!

How this works:

1. You provide a clear description of your wallpaper idea, as well as optional texture files (png,jpg), source images (for reference) and sketches. This is done as comments in this thread. Remember to provide aspect ratio/size.

2. I will be going through your requests by the end of this week and start working on 3D-models/Photoshops to suit your request.

3. The result will be posted as a reply to your comment, equipped with blender file/psd document if you want to experiment with the wallpaper. Remember to indicate that you'd like a source file in your comment.

4. When all wallpapers are done they will be posted in an album in this subreddit.

Flairs

We also accept requests for custom flairs! To be assigned a special flair, simply provide a source image. Your image will be scaled down by us to a maximum height of 40 px. Remember keep the image fairly detail-free! Your request will be processed within a few hours.

Sentimental shit

Well, this was a nice surprise. I made this subreddit for laughs at 2AM in this comment and woke up to 1.7K subcribers. First of all, I'd like to thank all of our subscribers and ones to come to support our cause in providing clever wallpapers to redditors in need. Now, let's proceed with some information about this sub and rules.

What is this subreddit about?

The main idea with this subreddit is to be a provider of wallpapers that stick out from other wallpapers by being clever and interactive.

What is an interactive wallpaper?

An interative wallpaper is a wallpaper that has been specifically designed or edited to interact with the icons on the desktop. Interactive wallpapers come in different sizes, but they all have in common that extra thought and care has been put into them.

What and how do I post?

Your submission should be of a displaying nature, i.e, a screenshot of the interactive wallpaper in action, with icons to clarify its purpose. The raw file (without icons) should then ve included in the comments for easy access. Remember to include resolution and possibly aspect ratio if needed! Posting templates of different sizes is encouraged.

OC is awesome, OC is great, OC is love, OC is life. If you have made the wallpaper template yourself, flair your post with OC flair. Great fortune and karma will come to you.

Rules
