Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Will the anime get a reboot or a sequel?

A. Most likely not. There is little reason to believe the anime will see any new iterations. No official source has ever hinted at otherwise.

Q. Where should I pickup from if I just finished the anime?

A. Chapters 60-61 in the manga wrap up the Northern Conflict, though the anime diverges from the manga a little before that.

Q. Aw man, is the manga really over?

A. The manga has officially ended after 27 volumes.

Q. I have a super special question or theory! And I have art or other Claymore related things to post but don't know if I should...

Do you think Ilena knew Clare was number 47 when she was training her?

I don’t think Clare ever clarified that she was the lowest number in the organization to Ilena. Ilena did know that she was a higher rank than Clare maybe base from sensing Yoma power. There was a part during training where Ilena said “she’s beginning to get a sense of her limit but still…” I think she realized then that no matter how much they train Clare was never gonna be at her level b/c of her weaker baseline. I wonder if she would think “damn #47? Why did I even bother, I knew she was weaker than me but that weak?!” lol

Also do you guys think when Clare grew up, she knew Teresa was the strongest warrior ever? Or she just thought Teresa was like one of the other Abyssal one’s?

The unluckiest character in Claymore

Let me introduce you to the warrior with the worst luck in the story.

Her name is Zelda. She was number 24 in Clare’s generation, and one of the 24 participants in the Northern mission. She was a member of Undine’s team.

Why is she unlucky? As we all know, during the second battle of the war in the north, the claymore side suffered heavy losses. Especially when Rigardo appeared, most of the warriors were taken down. After Rigardo was defeated, there were only 6 left standing: Miria, Cynthia, Deneve, Helen, Clare, and you guessed it, Zelda.

Now let’s remember, before this particular battle, Miria and the warriors each took half a yoki suppressant pill, so in the event that they were knocked out and lost consciousness, their yoki would disappear. The Awakened Beings would think they were dead and not bother to harm them further.

Thanks to that tactic, 7 warriors managed to survive the ordeal, 5 among which belonged to the last group of 6 that I mentioned above.

So what does that mean? It means that particular last group had a very high chance of survival. Perhaps after the death of Rigardo, the Awakened Beings lost their leader and became much more disorganized. They only attacked the remaining 6 warriors in a hasty, careless, half-assed way, that’s why Miria, Clare, Deneve, Helen and Cynthia all survived.

Zelda was the ONLY ONE who received a fatal injury. The chance of survival for that group was 5/6 (83.3%), but she was unfortunate.

About Priscilla's skin tone...

I didn't watch the anime and I finished the manga yesterday, and I was surprised when I saw on Wikia that Priscilla in the anime is blonde and has light skin, whereas in the manga it is very clear that she has dark skin (similar to Casca from Berserk).

EDIT: I reread chapter 135, her skin is white, but in some chapters she reminded me a lot of Casca, regarding her hair color, anyway, I was reckless in talking about whitewashing, sorry.

Riful was younger than both Miata and Priscilla

Looking back, Riful probably became a warrior at a younger age than even Miata. In the flashback chapter, warrior Riful looked like a little child. The claymore sword on her back seemed to be longer than her entire height, its tip almost touching the ground. Meanwhile, Miata was a child warrior as well, but her sword doesn’t look disproportionately long compared to her body the way Riful’s sword did.

If Riful was indeed younger than Miata at the time she became a warrior, then it’s very interesting because of how sane she was. With Miata, and even Priscilla, both became warriors while still very young, and both had very childish, underdeveloped mentality (constantly calling out for daddy/mama, losing temper very easily). On the contrary, Riful seemed very level headed and confident. In the flashback chapter, she seemed more mature than even Dauf, and of course later, she awakened into the cruel, sadistic, cunning Abyssal One of the West, one of the brainiest awakened beings in the entire story, while awakened Priscilla kept acting like a child and throwing tantrums left and right.

Oh how the turn tables

I'm playing the new Solo Leveling game and in the intro some of the warriors were called "Awakened Beings" and they hunt down monsters. Perhaps the creator of Solo Levelling coincidentally referenced Claymore?

Why did Isley make Priscilla go away?

When the Abyss Feeders began hunting him, Isley made Priscilla and Raki go away to protect them. But, uh... Why? If he thought Priscilla could be in danger, then shouldn't he have kept her by his side? Didn't he want Priscilla dead? And didn't he think that Priscilla could easily kill the Abyss Feeders?

I am a bit confused by Isley's mentality.

Are there any other Claymore/Witcher fanfics?

I'm just looking to see if there are any Claymore/Witcher fanfic where Raiki and Clare cross paths with a certain White Wolf of Rivia. So far all I could find were two crossover fics on fanfiction.net and they haven't even been completed yet.

The “dust eater” is the strongest technique

I think Cassandras dust eater is the strongest technique of all the claymores (aside from Teresas yoki sensing, but that’s straight up cheating). Although I see a lot of people find it funny and weird, I feel it would actually look a lot more badass if it was animated. Probably would still look a bit strange, but that is what makes it so powerful, the unorthodox approach to combat completely catching the enemy off guard. Also, a technique elevating her from number 5 all the way to number 1 and staying number 1 for a long time is a testament to its strength.
