Hi, how do I go about requesting street cleaning on a big side street ? There’s too much trash and this street has not been cleaned by the city since I move to my area about 7 years ago. The only reason it is sometimes clean is when I have time to clean the street myself. Otherwise it’s a big dump.

LA GIVES BACK is proud to announce their 2nd installment of one epic night of giving on Wednesday December 20th!

Last year the Los Angeles dance community came together to raise over $54,000 and awareness about the homeless epidemic here in our backyard. Created by IHEARTCOMIX, the one-night event will consist of some of LA’s biggest promoters coming together: the line-up includes rooms curated by Brownies and Lemonade, Ham On Everything, Space Yacht, Echoflex, Restless Nites, Late Night Laggers. The night will feature endless amounts of secret guests and big name talent as well as an Adult Swim curated Santa room. Happening in all six rooms of LA nightclub, Union, there will be a toy, food, coat, women’s products drive and 100% of all proceeds raised will go to benefit the local charities My Friend’s Place and Downtown Women’s Center.

I'm not 100% sure what Subreddits I should be posting in, I'm just trying to say thank you so any up votes or suggestions for visibility are appreciated.

Exactly a week ago one of my best friends was married at diamond view summit in Agua Dulce. We went to high school in Connecticut together. I still live in CT, he moved out to LA, but we've kept our friendship alive and I'm so happy to have been part of the wedding party and to have been able to be there for him on that day of days.

We took the wedding photos at Vazquez Rocks. At some point the photographer reminded us "no phones in front pockets." I hadn't even worn the wedding clothes yet, so I hadn't cut the pockets in the jacket. Like an idiot I put my phone down in the parking lot. And of course when we got back to the venue I realized I left my phone behind.

The ceremony was beautiful, and I was 100% present for it. The wedding was fully diy, and I did my part during cocktail hour to haul tables, but I'd be lying if by that point the missing phone wasn't in the back of my mind. As soon as setup felt like it was petering out, I found the wedding planner. "I left my phone at Vazquez rocks. Do you think I have time before the entrances to see if it is still there?" She said she thought so.

I drove in a manner that I wouldn't describe as safe, exactly. Thank god my wife's phone was charged and getting service cuz I had no idea where I was. I got back to the park and literally (not figuratively) ran to the visitors center (not where I left the phone but where I was hoping a Good Samaritan would take it.) Closed. Ran back to my car, and heard a shout, from a white Nissan Xterra with a Bernie sticker. "Hey are you looking for a phone?" "Oh my god yes is it a blue iPhone 5c?"

So I got the phone and got back in time for the entrance and the rest of the wedding was amazing. But I don't think I gave the folks who were waiting at the visitor's center half the thanks they deserved. I was 3000 miles from home so if I didn't get it back that weekend that thing was gone. I was in the middle of a wedding. I cried as I drove back up. Popular culture would have you believe the basic decency required to hang around waiting for someone to come back for something as ultimately irrelevant as a phone is lacking "these days" and this was a reminder that that notion is nonsense.

I very much doubt that the people who got my phone back to me will see this, but just in case: hopefully this fills in the story of why I rushed away. And hopefully it conveys what I was feeling while I was yelling incoherently at you: thank you.
