Kenzo sat in the study of his home when his wife Camie walked in with their baby Mazu. Kenzo: Hello dearest…
Camie strolls into the room, balancing their adorable infant daughter Mazu in her arms. She greets Kenzo with a warm smile and a playful use of her unique slang.
Camie: Hey there, honey bun! What’s crackalackin’?
Kenzo: Analyzing, I recently had to do some digging on a few psychological profiles…
Camie’s smile softens at his answer as she carefully sets Mazu down on the baby mat they had set out.
She takes a seat beside Kenzo, her curiosity piqued by his mention of the psychological profiles he had to analyze.
Camie: Ah, profiling, huh? Sounds like you’ve got your hands full. Who were you looking into?
Kenzo: Old acquaintances
Camie grinned, bouncing Mazu on her hip.
Camie: You're gonna have to teach this little nugget all about the human psyche, you know? She's lucky to have such a smart daddy!
Kenzo: Yes…she is… Mazu: BAH! The drooling infant waves a hand towards the front door as a school bus pulls up, most likely their third child Satoshi.
Camie chuckles as Mazu makes her adorable sound and waves her small hand. She glances at the nearby window to see the familiar sight of the school bus outside.
She exchanges a knowing glance with Kenzo, both of them recognizing the sign of Satoshi's imminent return home.
Camie: Speak of the devil! Satoshi’s back!
Kenzo: I’ll take Mazu Kenzo carefully takes Mazu in his arms, holding her gently and staring into her deep purple eyes. He feels a wave of affection wash over him as he holds his adorable daughter.
Mazu wriggles, attempting to reach for something on Kenzo’s desk with her tiny hands. Kenzo makes sure she doesn’t knock over any important documents or items on his desk, carefully shifting them out of her reach.
Kenzo looked over the profiles he had accumulated, he couldn't help but let out a small sigh as he continued to study. Half of the people of interest were all from his past that had gone missing. Uso Itazura, Hanzai Yojinbo, Sorano Junshin, Kuzuri Akushitsu, Jishin Suji, Moso Shinko, and Tensai Sogen.
Kenzo looks as one of those names moves to the top of the person of interest list. Kuzuri Akushitsu could be described as a clinically insane person who had severe sadistic, masochistic and psychopathic tendencies. He greatly enjoyed the act of murder and constantly uttered to himself how he should go about the act, always wondering whether the kill would be better than the murder of his father.
For as long as he’d known him, Kuzuri was a person who gave into base impulses. He gives himself over wholeheartedly to the beast within and indulges in every vile or murderous impulse that strikes him. So why did he suddenly disappear from the public eye, and why was he only showing up now as someone completely different?
Kenzo mentally turned inwards and inquired to his other computational personality for answers. Kenzo: Koryū, what was the official story behind Kuzuri’s disappearance?
Koryu responds to Kenzo's internal inquiry with his usual calm and analytical tone.
Koryu: Official records state that Kuzuri’s disappearance is a mystery. He vanished without a trace, and no evidence was ever found to explain his sudden disappearance.
Kenzo: That story isn’t very plausible, it’s highly unlikely that he’d be abducted if at all quietly. And even if he was he’d certainly leave a mess that the authorities could track. Hmmm… Koryū, pull up a list of all the heroes that were killed during the Black Orchard Protocol fifteen years ago.
Koryu processes the request and quickly responds.
Koryu: Pulling up the list of heroes killed during the Black Orchard Protocol, fifteen years ago.
A list of names appears on Kenzo’s mental screen, each name representing a fallen hero from that dark period in history.
Kenzo: And while you’re at it, see if you can find any correlation between these heroes and the ones that were in the vicinity of Kuzuri’s disappearance.
Koryu diligently sets to work on the second request, searching for any possible connections between the fallen heroes on the list and the location where Kuzuri disappeared.
After a brief period of analysis, he responds with his results.
Koryu: After cross-referencing the list of fallen heroes with the location where Kuzuri disappeared, I've found a potential connection.
Kenzo: Thank you Koryū Kenzo sighs as he held his wide eyed daughter in his large hands. He remembers the night of Mineta’s rampage in the sewers, the mechanical abomination that attacked their children and called him out specifically.
Koryū responded after analyzing the data further.
Koryū: I have identified several heroes who had ongoing conflicts with Kuzuri Akushitsu. These heroes include Gashadokuro, Akane Saito, Chuuho Fujishiro, and Kyokushin Kanou.
Kenzo: Three of those names I recognize;Akane Saito was Overflow, Chuuho Fujishiro was Transit, and Kyokushin Kanou was Bulletproof. I watched all three of them die on the day of Black Orchard.
Kenzo: I wonder what happened to the others. As Mazu grabbed Kenzo’s hand he picked up another psyche evaluation, Jishin Suji, another person he’d known in middle school who earned the nickname Hungry Butcher. In the past, he was a legendary commando and once killed two thousand soldiers in a single campaign but 13 years ago, he was claimed to be killed in action while on a special ops mission.
Kenzo starts to go down the list, Hanzai Yojimbo: Illegal boxing, Sorano Jushin: Weapons dealer, Moso Shinko: Went missing in a forest, Tensai Sogen: Lab accident. Every member from that group of vagrants he’d known in middle school had mysteriously disappeared without any explanation.
Kenzo then got to the bottom of the list and clutched his daughter closer to him. Uso Itazura was at the bottom of the list, the person who betrayed him and tried to set him up in middle school to keep him under knuckle. Here it says he had died in a horrific car accident but no body was found.
Kenzo: Mineta almost tore the country apart to root out a conspiracy, at the cost of his sanity. I owe it to him that I finished what he started, before things get out of hand again. **
Makoto was hard at work training with her father in learning how to fight. Apparently the Grey Academy had a multitude of skills to teach, among them Mineta was currently teaching her Silat.
He approached her during a break in the training session, offering some feedback and advice on her technique.
Mineta: You're doing well. Keep your guard up and focus on your footwork. Silat is all about fluid movement and precise strikes.
Makoto: I don’t know is my stomach too big for this? She wipes her brow with a towel while poking her belly.
Mineta: You don't need to worry about that, Makoto. Silat is for everyone, regardless of body shape.
Suddenly her phone goes off. Makoto: Oh I lost track of time! I’m so sorry Dad I have to go, can we pick this up later?
Mineta: No problem, sweetheart. Practice makes perfect or whatever.
Makoto had never casually been to an art gallery before. Her first time was a glimpse during New Years but today she got a closer look with “The Posse” as they call themselves. That posse was composed of Shoka, Kita, Sophie, Hime, Tei Monoma and Toshinori.
Sophie: “Abstract Paintings”…I’ve always been fascinated by abstract art. It’s often so open to interpretation, don’t you think?
Tei: Didn’t take you for the artsy type Bakugo. Which earns him a flick to his ear from Kita was joined at the hip with him. Kita: Darling you said you wouldn’t cause any trouble.
Shoka chuckled at Tei’s comment.
Shoka: Tei, you know better than to cause trouble. But I guess some people just can’t help themselves.
Tei: Ouch, babe! Just making an observation, no harm done.
Kita: Don’t call me babe either. He coldly remarked as he pinched Tei’s nose. Makoto stopped at a certain spot, it was an old looking painting of various animals that looked like they were all in a forest together and seemed to have been made with oil paint. The painting had a calming atmosphere and beautiful colors around it.
Makoto found herself drawn to a particular painting that depicted a forest scene filled with animals. The oil paint and beautiful colors caught her eye, creating a calming atmosphere that pulled her in.
She stood in front of the painting for a moment, taking in the details and studying the various animal figures that seemed to inhabit the woods. There was something tranquil and soothing about it that calmed her mind and eased her worries.
Makoto suddenly staggered as her Stendhal syndrome flared, causing her knees to buckle. Before she could fall, Shoka quickly wrapped her arms around her waist, providing support and steadying her.
Shoka’s embrace was firm but gentle, helping to stabilize Makoto’s weakening body.
Shoka: You okay, Makoto?
The other members of the group noticed her sudden weakness and gathered around, expressing concern for her well-being.
Makoto: Y-Yeah of course…just being weird again.
Shoka kept his arm around Makoto's waist, not completely convinced by her response. The others looked equally worried and unconvinced.
Hime: You sure you're alright, Makoto? You don't look too good.
That’s when the group noticed the familiar face of a tall gloomy girl in the distance.
As the group turned their attention to the familiar face in the distance, Shoka raised an eyebrow and recognized Harumi Murakami.
Shoka: Hey, isn't that Murakami?
The others followed his gaze and noticed Harumi, sketchbook in hand, casually wandering around the exhibit.
Toshi: Should we go talk to her?
The group exchanged glances, contemplating Toshi's suggestion.
Sophie: Hmm...it wouldn’t hurt to say hi. She seems a bit lonely.
The others nodded in agreement, and they collectively decided to approach Harumi.
Hime: Hey ‘Rumi how’s it going?
Harumi looked up from her sketchbook, her eyes widening a fraction as she saw the group approaching her. For a moment, she seemed taken aback. She hadn’t expected them to approach her so unannounced. But she quickly composed herself, her face returning to its usual impassive expression.
Tei chuckled at Harumi’s surprise but was still the same blunt self.
Tei: What, did we scare you or something?
The others shot Tei a warning look, not appreciating his bluntness. The last thing they wanted was to upset their introverted classmate.
Harumi:...I’m fine. She replied, closing the sketchbook and tucking it under her arm. Just browsing...
Makoto: What are you doing at the art exhibit? Do you like artworks like this?
Shoka noticed the sketchbook tucked under her arm and became curious.
Shoka: Ah, are you into drawing or something?
The others took notice of the sketchbook as well, silently intrigued by it.
Harumi: I come here sometime…draw...or to clear my head.
There was a moment of silence as the group absorbed her words. They knew that Harumi preferred solitude and often kept to herself, but it was refreshing to learn that she had an outlet for her thoughts in the form of drawing.
Sophie spoke up, breaking the silence.
Sophie: I didn’t know you liked drawing. You’re good at it?
Harumi: N-Nothing too special yet, just some little sketches...
Hime smiled kindly, her eyes bright with interest.
Hime: Still, it’s wonderful that you have an outlet like that. Mind if we sneak a peek?
Harumi seemed hesitant for a moment, not quite sure about sharing her drawings with the group. But the encouraging smiles on their faces, coupled with their sincere interest, made her reluctantly open the sketchbook and give it to Hime.
Harumi: Y-You don’t have to lie to be nice you know…?
Hime took the sketchbook and began to flip through the pages, her eyes scanning the various drawings that filled it. The others crowded around her to get a better look.
There was a moment of silence as they all took in Harumi’s sketches, but it was quickly broken by Shoka.
Shoka: Whoa, these are incredible! You should give yourself more credit.
Harumi: I-I’m gl-glad…
The rest of the group chimed in, expressing their agreement with Shoka’s sentiment. They were all genuinely impressed by Harumi’s drawings.
Tei nodded in appreciation.
Tei: Seriously, you got some serious talent.
Kita lightly elbowed Tei’s side, silently scolding him for his bluntness.
Harumi then looked around and noticed something that seemed to make her turn away. Harumi: Can’t stay…
The group noticed Harumi’s sudden change in demeanor and her averted gaze.
Kita was the first to speak up, concern in his voice.
Kita: What’s wrong? Why the sudden departure?
Harumi: Followed… She pointed at a well-defined, muscular man with long blonde hair, which he tied into a ponytail that hung over his right shoulder. He had confident eyes with pronounced tear troughs and thin facial hair on his chin.
The group followed Harumi’s gaze to the muscular man she pointed at, and immediately picked up on the tension in her voice and body language. They couldn’t help but feel uneasy at the sight of him.
Kita’s jaw clenched, the protective side of him kicking into high gear.
Kita: Who’s that guy?
Toshi: That’s Thundershot…why’s he following you?
Shoka and the others exchanged glances, recognizing the name “Thundershot” immediately as a pro hero.
Shoka: Thundershot? That’s a pretty big deal… why is he following you?
Harumi: sigh...it’s nothing. Father’s old friend…asked to escort me.
Shoka raised an eyebrow at Harumi’s statement.
Shoka: Escort? Sounds like a bit much.
Sophie chimed in, a hint of suspicion in her voice.
Sophie: Do you know this guy well?
Harumi: Mhm. She pointed at two other people who seemed to be following her. A well-built man with dark skin, black hair with shaved sides, and dreadlocks on the top. He has orange eyes with light swirls as the iris and golden vambraces on his wrists. And a very large and muscular woman who possesses a large, yellow eye, and long yellow hair. She wears torn, dark purple shorts, a tank top and yellow eyepatch
The group looked at the other two individuals that Harumi pointed out, trying to discern what their role was in all of this.
Shoka was the first to speak up again, his suspicion only growing.
Shoka: More escorts? Or bodyguard?
Harumi: He worries…about me.
The group shared looks of understanding, now beginning to comprehend the situation a bit more. It seemed that Thundershot was indeed escorting Harumi for her protection.
Kita was the one to speak up this time.
Kita: Worried...about what?
Harumi: He has his reasons-She clutches her ears and they all suddenly noticed the hearing aids she has on.
The presence of the hearing aids took the group by surprise, and they all suddenly felt a pang of pity and sympathy for Harumi.
Hime spoke up, her voice gentle and full of concern.
Hime: Those hearing aids... Did something happen?
Harumi: Five years old…accident in the park.
The group listened to Harumi’s words, their hearts aching at the thought of her going through such a traumatic experience at such a young age. Sophie gently placed a hand on Harumi’s shoulder, offering comfort.
Sophie: I’m sorry… That must have been incredibly difficult.
A shadow loomed over the three of them. They turned around to find Harumi’s dad Kenzo Murakami in the flesh. He had the same pale skin, hollow red eyes and dark black hair as Harumi, only his was cut short while Harumi’s fell around her shoulders. Harumi: Hello…father
Kenzo stood there, towering over the group with his imposing figure. He glanced at the group and nodded briefly in greeting before his gaze settled on Harumi.
Kenzo: Hello, Harumi.
Kita: Mother always said you had a knack for disappearing and reappearing, sir.
Kenzo responded with a small, weary smile, his voice a low and gravelly.
Kenzo: Old habits die hard, I suppose. Now...daughter, go wait outside for a moment...
Harumi nodded, her obedience towards her father evident in her body language. She quietly stepped aside and made her way towards the exit, leaving the group alone with Kenzo.
As she left, Kenzo subtly motioned for Thundershot to accompany her outside. The group stood there for a moment as they noticed how Harumi's dad had a much more intimidating presence to himself.
The group exchanged glances, taking in Kenzo’s intimidating aura. They each unconsciously puffed out their chests and stood at their full height, a subconscious response to the powerful presence standing in front of them.
Kita was the first to break the tension, his natural stubbornness getting the better of him.
Kita: We have some questions for you, Mr. Murakami.
Kenzo: Harumi is strong physically and mentally, however she is clouded by anxiety and doubt. I am grateful for you all trying to improve her confidence.
The group nodded in understanding, acknowledging that they had been attempting to help Harumi gain more confidence and overcome her doubts.
Shoka: We care about her. We just want to help her come out of her shell a bit more.
Kenzo: Good, she needs good friends to show her support, as we should have done… He trails off while looking at Makoto, most likely referring to her father.
The group exchanged glances, picking up on the reference Kenzo made about Makoto's father.
Tei spoke up, his usually blunt tone softened by the seriousness of the conversation.
Tei: What happened between you and Makoto's dad?
Kenzo: Our class completely overlooked his attempt at improving and it came back to haunt us. We refused to believe he’d grown as a person, so we didn’t give him the benefit of the doubt when accusations against him were thrown out.
The group listened to Kenzo's words, the weight of his guilt evident in his voice.
Hime's voice broke the temporary silence as she spoke up, a hint of sadness in her tone.
Hime: Do you...blame yourself for what happened to Makoto's father?
Kenzo: Mineta had three different opportunities to prove his innocence and the existence of the real threats. All three of them were thwarted by hero intervention…our intervention.
The group fell silent, digesting the information that Kenzo had revealed. The revelation about the thwarted opportunities to save Makoto's father left them feeling a mixture of sadness and regret.
Kita was the first to speak up again, his voice gruff but laced with sympathy.
Kita: That's...that's a lot to take in, sir.
Kenzo: We were all blinded by outdated ideas about Mineta, the only people who would’ve given Mineta the benefit of a doubt were thought to be dead.
The group listened intently, absorbing the information that Kenzo was sharing. They could sense the guilt and regret that he had been carrying for all these years.
Sophie spoke up, her voice soft and empathetic.
Sophie: Why did you keep quiet about this for so long? Why didn’t Makoto know anything?
Kenzo: I could not risk further poisoning her mind with hatred. And I was far too busy picking up the pieces left behind.
Shoka: But why share this with us now?
Kenzo: Because I won’t allow you children to repeat our mistakes by ostracizing Mineta’s daughter. Though it appears I won’t have to worry about that.
The group exchanged thoughtful glances.
Kita: We won't make that mistake. We won’t treat Makoto any different.
Kenzo: I let things get out of hand because I underestimated your father Makoto. I thought he wouldn’t do too much damage if left unattended until it was…far too late.
The group listened intently, feeling a pang of sadness at the mention of Makoto's father.
Tei, with his bluntness, asked the question that was on everyone's mind.
Tei: What happened to him...in the end?
Shoka: Didn’t ya hear, someone tried to pull the plug on Mako’s dad while he was in the hospital. Mr Murakami here and three others were the prime suspects.
Sophie spoke up, shaking her head in disbelief.
Sophie: I told you Dad didn’t do it!
Shoka: Relax Sophie, our Dad is on the list too, Dynamight wasn’t the only one.
Sophie was visibly relieved to hear this, glad that her father wasn’t the only one suspected.
Shoka chimed in, a slight hint of annoyance in his voice.
Shoka: Still, it’s ridiculous that heroes can just accuse people without evidence.
Makoto: Tell that to your parents when they pushed everything on Dad…
The group fell into an awkward silence, the weight of Makoto’s words hanging over them. They knew that the heroes weren’t always in the right, but it was difficult to hear about it from Makoto’s perspective.
Kenzo: We were all played for fools, almost murdering our friend and burying the truth with him while the real culprits laughed behind the scenes. I’m deeply sorry Makoto.
Makoto responded, her voice laced with sorrow and anger.
Makoto: It's not your fault ....It was a mistake...I forgive you...
Kenzo looked stunned for a moment, visibly taken aback by Makoto’s words of forgiveness. He had expected her to be angry and resentful, yet she had chosen to show him compassion instead. Shoka: What! Kita: Makoto? Hime: Are you sure?
The group was in disbelief at Makoto’s words as well. They had expected a more intense reaction from her.
Tei, blunt as ever, spoke up with a hint of concern in his tone.
Tei: Why are you forgiving so easily?
Makoto:...Yes, I am sure...he clearly feels very guilty about the whole thing and I can’t hold that against him. So I’m learning to forgive him for what happened back then, that’s all there is to it. Just like I’m trying to forgive your parents.
The group was silent, taken aback by not only Makoto’s forgiveness, but also by the fact that she was attempting to extend the same forgiveness towards them.
Kita, with a hint of vulnerability in his voice, spoke up.
Kita: You...you really mean that?
Makoto: I’m…trying to get better with this. I need to move on from this…
The group exchanged glances, each feeling a mix of sadness and respect for Makoto.
Hime, with a hint of sadness in her voice, spoke up.
Hime: It takes a lot of strength to forgive...we admire you for that, Mako.
Makoto takes Shoka’s hand in hers and gives Kenzo her condolences. The seven of them walk down the street together. Makoto: So what did you have in mind for this lunch date, Hime?
A small smile crept onto Hime's face at Makoto's question. She chuckled softly and squeezed her hand, intertwining their fingers together.
Hime: Um...nothing too specific just...I wanted to hangout with you guys and go to some places that I liked.
Toshi: Lead the way!
Hime nods and leads the group down the street. The stores around the area are a wide assortment of clothing stores, game stores, and arcades. There are some restaurants a couple of blocks down and a movie theater farther down the main strip.
Hime: So, first stop!
She pointed up at a bakery called "Bread Heaven" which was right in the city center, it was her favorite place to get pastries.
The group walked up to the bakery and entered, the smell of fresh pastries and sweets immediately enveloping them.
Kita took a subtle sniff of the air, a hint of a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Shoka was already looking over the pastries on display, his stomach grumbling slightly.
Makoto: These pastries are going straight to my hips.
Sophie playfully pokes at Makoto's hips, grinning.
Sophie: I bet it won't, you could use a few more anyway.
The group entered the bakery, the smell of fresh pastries filling the air. Some of the group started to drool while others were looking at the different pastries that were in display.
Makoto: If you say so…
Hime excitedly walked up to one of the display cases, her eyes scanning through the various pastries.
Hime: Ohhh, let's get these ones!
Hime pointed at a selection of pastries that were sitting in the back of the display, their appearance looked like a mix between French patisserie and Japanese anpan bread.
Makoto: Fine...but it better not go right to my thighs!
Sophie chuckled, still poking at Makoto's hips.
Sophie: You worry too much. A few pastries won't kill.
Hime whispered: I bet Shoka would like that.
Shoka nearly choked on the pastry he had already started eating. His face turned a deep shade of red and he looked down at the counter, trying to hid his embarrassment. Kita: Something wrong brother?
Hime teasingly poked Makoto's hip.
Hime: Oh come on, a little extra junk in the trunk never hurt anyone!
Makoto playfully swatted Hime's hand away, her face tinged pink, before letting out a resigned sigh. Makoto: You're not going to let this go, are you? Fiiiine, I'll get something. But just a small danish or something.
Hours later and Makoto was blackout tired from eating pastries. She awoke upon Shoka’s back, still holding onto her to-go bag. Makoto groggy: Wha-What happened…?
Shoka, carrying Makoto on his back, chuckled as she woke up.
Shoka: You fell asleep, just after you finished your sixth Danish.
Makoto: You said you wouldn’t let me eat too muuuuch! Kitaaa why didn’t you stop meeee?
Kita was walking alongside them, his hands stuffed in his pockets.
Kita: Hey, I tried to convince you to stop a few times, you refused to listen and kept buying more. You know how stubborn you can be when you want something.
Hime looked up from her phone, a smug smile on her face. She had been taking pictures of unconscious Makoto with pastries in her mouth.
Hime: And because it was funny? We got some good pictures too.
Sophie, who was walking next to Hime, chuckled at the photos.
Sophie: She looked like she was having pastries with a side of drool, it was a sight.
Makoto sleepy: Well you should’ve tried harder…!
Kita smirked at her response.
Kita: Trust me, we tried. You were in a pastry trance, even Hime couldn’t get through to you. **
Back at the MVHA, Shiryu sat in a gurney chair after a long day of training with Mirko, with Emiko lying on his chest. He couldn’t help but blush at the intimacy he still wasn’t accustomed to, as she slept peacefully on him while he was chomping at the bit.
After a few minutes Emiko stirred in her sleep, slowly waking up from her nap. Her eyes flutter open, adjusting to the dimly lit room. She slowly lifts her head, blearily looking up at Shiryu with a sleepy smile.
Emiko: yawns Hey....
Shiryu’s blush only got worse upon hearing her voice, her sleepy, calm and soft tone was really enough to send him into a fit of blushing and nervous sweating. He stayed quiet for a moment before he finally spoke.
Emiko chuckled at his reaction, finding his nervousness to be cute. She shifted her body, getting into a more comfortable position on him.
Emiko: You blushing again?
Shiryu: I just…I’m not good with intimacy…okay?
Emiko chuckled, a soft amused smile on her face. She reached up and gently patted his chest, feeling his heart beat fast against her hand.
Emiko: I know, I know. You get flustered so easily. It's adorable, you know.
Shiryu: Wait…that’s not what I meant… I’m not used to being treated nicely.
Emiko's expression softened, a hint of sadness in her eyes. She knew about Shiryu's past and what he had been through. She moved her hand to cup his face gently, her touch gentle and comforting.
Emiko: I know, I know. But I want to change that. I want to treat you the way you deserve.
Shiryu: I’ve spent most of my life thinking everyone would hate me for as long as I lived. All because they couldn’t let go of their petty hatred for Dad.
Emiko hugged him tighter, gently stroking his hair.
Emiko: I know, and that’s the part that makes me sad. You deserve so much more than that, you really do.
She pulled back from the hug slightly so she could look him in the eyes.
Emiko: And I’m not going to let anyone hurt you again, understand?
Shiryu flushed: Y-Yeah…
Emiko smiled warmly, seeing the way Shiryu reacted to her closeness. She moved a little closer, her face inches from his.
Emiko: You know, you really are cute when you're flustered.
Shiryu: It’s fine… whatever
Emiko chuckled at his response, finding his attempt at nonchalance amusing.
Emiko: You're such a bad liar, you know that? Your face turns so red when you get flustered, it's adorable.
Shiryu: You don’t know what you’re talking about…
Emiko smiled devilishly as she scooted closer, her body now pressed against his. She placed her chin on his shoulder, her face inches from his ear.
Emiko: Oh really? Your blushing says otherwise, you know. I can feel your heart beating so fast against me.
Shiryu’s heart was beating in his chest as her black hair fell around him. He wasn’t used to being this close to a girl, he was very afraid. Shiryu: Hey hey easy!
Emiko chuckled, amused by his reaction. She leaned in closer, her breath against his skin.
Emiko: Oh come on, why should I be easy on you? It's fun teasing you, seeing you get all flustered like this.
Shiryu: I’m…tender…
Emiko's expression softened, seeing the vulnerability in his words. She carefully moved a hand to his cheek, gently caressing it.
Emiko: I know, I know. And I'll be careful with you, promise. She leaned her face closer to his, her forehead barely touching his
Shiryu: You know that’s not what I meant!
Emiko smirked, her eyes sparkling with mischief
Emiko: Oh, I know what you meant. I just enjoy messing with you, seeing how flustered you get. You're too cute when you're flustered, you know that?
But even as she said that her face dimmed as she ruffled his hair. Emiko: You’re not an animal you know.
Shiryu's heart skipped a beat as her hand ruffled his hair. He felt a sudden warmth fill his chest, and he couldn't help but lean into her touch.
Shiryu, voice barely above a whisper: I...I know...
Emiko: Do you? I know the real reason you wanted to train under Mirko, I know about your secret quirk.
Shiryu's breath hitched in his throat. He hadn't expected her to bring up his secret quirk. He had tried to keep it hidden, to not let it define him.
Shiryu, a hint of fear in his voice: You do? How...how did you find out?
Emiko: Really? Shiryu's eyes widened as Emiko grabbed his wrist, revealing the claws that had formed on his fingers. He hadn't even noticed them until now.
Shiryu, his voice barely above a whisper: H-how...how did you know...about this? I thought I hid it so well...
Emiko: Running on all fours, growling like a wild animal, did you really think that you was subtle?
Shiryu's face flushed, embarrassment clear in his voice.
Shiryu, a mix of embarrassment and nervousness: I...I tried to hide it...I didn’t want anyone to find out...I didn’t want to give them another reason to call me a freak.
Emiko softened, seeing the shame and vulnerability in his expression.
Emiko, her voice barely above a whisper: Hey...hey, it's okay. I understand why you wanted to hide it, really I do. But...you don't have to hide it from me. You know that, right?
Shiryu: I’m an abomination with parts that don’t even belong to me.
Emiko held back a sharp intake of breath, her heart clenching at his words. She wanted to say something, to reassure him that he wasn't an abomination.
Emiko, her voice filled with empathy: Hey, don't say that.... just because you look different from others doesn't mean you're an abomination. You're not a monster, you hear me?
Shiryu:…

Kaori sat in her parent’s home, holding the love letter that Minoru had given her on their first date. you're my first. and i don't mean my first kiss, or my first relationship, or my first i love you. you're the first person who makes me feel like i'm enough and the first one to show me what i love you actually means.
Kaori smiles at the words written on the letter. She could still remember the feeling of her heart fluttering when Minoru had given this to her. How nervous she’d been, how he’d looked so cute when he asked her out. The memory still made her heart skip a beat.
Kaori then looked down at the floor as she smiled a little more before speaking to herself. Kaori: I just love him so much...
Kiku: Kaori sweetie are you okay? Kaori’s mother came in with a tray of tea when she saw her daughter tearing up.
Kaori quickly wipes away the tears that had started to well in her eyes and looks up at her mom, a shaky smile on her face.
Kaori: I’m fine, mom. Just got a little emotional.
Kiku: I remember your father turned as white as a sheet when we first found that letter. He had no idea you were seeing someone and I had just come back from work.
Kaori lets out a soft laugh at her mother’s words, a fond look in her eyes.
Kaori: I remember that. Dad looked like he was about ready to bolt out the door and hunt down Minoru.
Kiku: Now your father can’t stop talking about him…What’s on your mind dear?
Kaori’s smile falters slightly, and she lets out a sigh. She looks down at the letter in her hands, her fingers slowly tracing over the words written on it.
Kaori: W-Well...I’m torn mom, I don’t know whether to forgive my classmates. For how they treated Minoru and what they put the kids through... I can’t relax knowing they’re around them
Kiku: sigh I’m sure we’ve had this conversation before, after we lost your brother Haru. Forgiveness can be hard, especially when it costs you someone you love.
Kaori lets out another sigh, her grip on the letter tightening for a moment. The loss of her little brother was still like a fresh wound to her, the memories of that day still as vivid as ever.
Kaori: I know…But it’s so hard, mom. They were so cruel to him, and to the kids… I don’t think I’ll be able to forgive them anytime soon…
Kaori’s brother Haru was one of the nicest people in the world and an amazing big brother who always took time to play with her. He also died because of spiteful people slandering their family and it drove him to suicide. She’d always feared that Minoru would suffer the same fate.
The memory of her brother’s death still haunted Kaori to this day. The pain he must have felt, the things he must have heard to drive him to that point…it still made her heart twist in pain. She grips the letter tighter, her knuckles turning white. Her voice came out soft and shaky when she spoke again.
Kaori: I can’t lose Minoru, mom. I can’t lose him like we lost Haru…
Kiku: Wasn’t it a reluctance to forgive Minoru for his mistakes what caused your class to do what they did? Are you sure you want to do the same thing?
Kaori goes silent, her mother’s words sinking in. She knew her mom was right, but it was easier said than done. How could she forgive her classmates when they’d hurt the person she loved most? When they’d hurt the kids? It was hard to let go of that anger…but she knew she had to at some point.
Kaori: It’s…It’s complicated, mom. I want to forgive them, I do. But I don’t know how…
Kiku: That being said I understand your reluctance a little more than theirs. They were reluctant because of paranoia and close-mindedness, you’re reluctant because someone dear to you actually got hurt. And Makoto’s still my granddaughter so you could imagine I was less than pleased with her situation.
Kaori nods in understanding, her grip on the letter loosening slightly.
Kaori: They really messed up…all of them. I don’t know if I can ever forgive them for what they did. Not anytime soon at least… But I know I’ll have to eventually, for everyone’s sake…
Kiku: Give them time, grant them the patience they were too stubborn to give themselves. There’s an old saying, “Sometimes the only way to heal our wounds is to make peace with the demons that created them”.
Kaori takes a moment to process her mother’s words, absorbing the wisdom behind them. She feels a small wave of relief wash over her as she listens. Maybe her mother was right, maybe it would take time, maybe she could come to forgive them eventually.
Kaori: You’re right, mom…I just need time…
Kiku: I know it won’t be easy, you were so little when we lost your brother. I’m a grandma now and I’m still working towards forgiving the people that took him from us.
Kaori feels a mixture of pain and comfort at her mom’s words. It was hard, remembering those days and the pain she’d felt. But she had Minoru now; he made her feel safe, happy.
Kaori: I know, mom…it’s just hard…But I’ll try, I can’t stay angry forever…
She reached out and gently placed a hand on her mother’s, feeling a sense of connection in their shared grief.
Kaori: I...I miss him so much, mom.
Kiku’s expression softens, her eyes filled with understanding. She gently squeezes her daughter’s hand, offering a gentle smile.
Kiku: I know, sweetie. I miss him too…You and Makoto look just like him sometimes, especially when you kept your hair short.
Kaori’s heart twinges at her mother’s words, pain and comfort mixing together. She grips her mom’s hand more, feeling the warmth and love in her mother’s hold. With a soft smile, she responds, her voice soft and shaky.
Kaori: Yeah…sometimes I look into the mirror, and I see him staring back at me. And I wonder, what would he say if he saw me now?
She looked across the room to see a glimmering photo of the four of them together. Kiku: He’d be so happy to hear you got married. I hear you’re still holding onto his watch.
Kaori follows her mother’s gaze towards the photo on the desk. She smiles at the image of the four of them together, a happy and loving family. Her hand subconsciously reaches up to grip the chain of the watch that hung around her neck.
Kaori: Yeah, I am…I’ve never taken it off, not even at the wedding. **
Makoto sat in the bleachers of Gym Gamma as the rest of her class were set to face off against Tenshi of the big three. When the rest of the class had been introduced to their strongest upperclassmen, Tenshi had insisted they fight to see what the first years were really capable of. It wasn’t going well for class 1-A…
As the rest of her classmates struggle against Tenshi, Makoto feels a wave of concern rise within her. She watches from the sidelines as they all get knocked down, one after another. The strength and skill of the upperclassmen were clearly above that of the first years.
Tenshi has his two parents quirks. His Father’s wings and his Mother’s leg Strength, allowing him to jump and kick with a lot of force.
Tenshi: Too weak. He walked through the disgruntled bodies of class 1-A strewn about, fluffing his wings in irritation. You walk on your parent’s path without thinking of doing better. You’re just a joke compared to all the sacrifices they’ve made…
Makoto feels a pang of anger rise within her at Tenshi's words. How dare he talk about her class like that, calling them weak and unworthy of their parents who had given their lives to protect others?
Makoto steps forward, her eyes narrowing as she speaks up angrily.
Makoto: Don’t talk about my classmates like that! We’re not weak, we’re just starting out. Just because you seem stronger than us, doesn’t mean you can belittle us and our efforts!
Tenshi: You shut up and stay over there! You’ll never become great heroes, especially you. While he was distracted, Harumi stood up just as beaten up as the rest of the class but trembling with anger. Tenshi: Hm?
Harumi’s sudden stand catches Tenshi’s attention, drawing a curious hum from him. He gives her a sidelong glance, his expression a mix of annoyance and mockery.
Tenshi: What, are you going to try and fight back now? You already lost like the rest of them.
Harumi quietly: Shhh-Shut up.
Tenshi lets out a scoff, folding his arms across his chest.
Tenshi: Oh, someone’s got a little attitude, huh? What are you going to do about it, first year? You’re nothing special, just like the rest of your classmates.
Harumi trembles: Shh-Shut up!
Tenshi’s annoyance with Harumi’s defiant attitude grows further. He steps towards her, a mocking grin on his face.
Tenshi: Oh, someone wants to play the tough kid, huh? Go ahead, try your best. I bet you’ll end up just like your classmates, beaten and bruised on the floor.
Harumi: Don’t…insult…my… Harumi was actually taller than Tenshi yet she shirked under his presence before. Now she couldn’t take her upperclassmen’s insults lying down, especially since he’d insulted her friends!
Tenshi raises an eyebrow at Harumi’s sudden show of courage. He hadn’t expected her to stand her ground like this, especially after how her classmates had fallen so quickly. With an amused chuckle, he takes a step closer to her, looking up at her.
Tenshi: Oh, so now you’ve got some fire in you? It’s about time you showed some backbone, but it’s too little too late.
Tenshi sent his feathers out as projectiles that embedded themselves into Harumi’s arm as she advanced. Harumi: My friends…are…heroes!
Tenshi watches as the feathers bury themselves into Harumi’s arm, his expression turning from amused to annoyance.
Tenshi: Your friends are weaklings, just like you. They won’t go far as heroes if they can’t even handle a simple spar. arumi: Sigh...I’m fine. She replied, closing the sketchbook and tucking it under her arm. Just browsing...
Suddenly Tenshi feels something latch onto his back followed by the sound of a low sizzling coming from his right wing. Hime: Don’t move or I’ll damage your pretty wings.
Tenshi’s eyes widen at the unexpected attack, a startled gasp escaping his throat. The sound of sizzling reaches his ears, making him freeze in place.
Tenshi: W-What the!? Who the hell is that!
Hime: You were right…practice is more useful than theory. Now Harumi! The next thing Tenshi sees when he turns was a hand coming towards him.
Tenshi had no time to react before Harumi's hand came flying his way. The blow connects, sending him stumbling backwards and landing on his butt.
Hime leans breathlessly against Harumi who was clutching her bloody arm. Hime: Mr. Aizawa, we managed to hit the angry bird! That means we won, right?
Aizawa, who had been watching the entire exchange in silence, looks at Tenshi and then at the two girls who had managed to take him down.
Aizawa: Yes, you won against Tenshi. Good work, both of you.
Tenshi grumbles as he stood up and accepted the terms he had agreed to. The rest of class 1-A managed to pull themselves off the ground.
The rest of class 1-A groans and grumbles as they struggle to get up from the ground, their aching and bruised bodies protesting the movement.
Aizawa: I hope this has taught you all a lesson, that teamwork and determination can help you overcome even stronger opponents.
Makoto watches everyone else file out of the gym as soon realized it was her turn to train. She was soon alone with Momoko Togata, who had a sinister smile on her face.
Makoto gulps nervously as she finds herself alone with Momoko, her heart racing in her chest. She notices the sinister smile on the upperclassmen’s face and feels a wave of uneasiness wash over her.
Makoto: A-Are you going to train me?
Momoko: Training starts now! Makoto gasps in surprise as Momoko suddenly disappears underground. Before she can even process what’s happening, an arm shoots out of the ground towards her.
Makoto barely dodges the arm that shot out from the ground, her reflexes on high alert. She stumbles backwards, her heart pounding against her chest.
Makoto: W-What the…!? You can go underground!
Momoko inherited her father’s Permeation giving her the power to become intangible, letting her pass through any tangible matter. She however was a lot more sinister with her quirk.
Makoto: H-How am I supposed to hit you if you keep going through the ground like that!?
Momoko: Better figure something out! Makoto feels a sharp pain shoot through her skull as Momoko’s hand connects with the back of her head. A wave of electricity courses through her body, making her knees buckle as she drops to the ground.
Makoto: AHH!!
The shock leaves Makoto momentarily disoriented and vulnerable, her vision blurry and her body weak.
Momoko: Fight! Fight like your life depends on it!
Makoto shakes her head, trying to clear the fog from her mind. Her eyes dart around, searching for an opening, a weakness to exploit.
But Momoko is everywhere, popping out from the ground like a jack-in-the-box, her body phasing through attacks as if they were nothing. She’s just too fast and elusive for Makoto to keep up with…
Makoto: Damn it! Dammit! DAMN! Makoto feels her blood roaring in her ears when she feels her skin ripping. She opens her eyes to see sharp bone like protrusions shooting out of her.
Momoko’s eyes widen in surprise as she sees the sharp bone-blades emerge from Makoto’s skin. She didn’t expect her to have a quirk like that.
Momoko takes a step back, a hint of wariness in her expression.
Momoko: Woah…You’re full of surprises, huh?
Makoto: Wha… Makoto looked down at the two long bone fragments sticking painfully out of her arms. She had a brief recollection of what happened during the final exam, only this was to a greater extent.
The memory from the final exam flashes through Makoto’s mind, and a realization comes to her. Her quirk…it’s getting stronger.
But the realization doesn’t have time to sink in as Momoko renews her attacks, charging towards Makoto with a determined look in her eyes.
Momoko: Get your head out of your ass newbie! Just because you got a new power up doesn’t mean this’ll be a cakewalk!
Momoko‘s words snap Makoto back to the present, jolting her out of her daze.
Her mind swims with questions and confusion over her new power, but that’s not the priority. Right now, she has to focus on the battle and Momoko right in front of her.
Makoto grits her teeth, her hands clenching into fists.
She can figure out her quirk later. For now, she’s going to give it her all.
Momoko: Phantom Menace!! Momoko vanishes into the ground before launching herself at high speeds in and out of her surroundings. She was hard to pin down and her hits were getting any lighter.
Momoko’s attacks come at Makoto from every angle, her unpredictable movements making her nearly impossible to pin down. Her speed and agility allow her to strike from unexpected locations, making her hits even more effective.
Makoto struggles to keep up, her limbs moving to defend against each strike. But Momoko’s assaults are relentless, pushing her to the brink.
Each hit leaves Makoto gritting her teeth in pain, her body covered in cuts and bruises from the onslaught. The bone spurs on her arms are useful for defense, but they only cover so much area.
She tries to keep her eyes on Momoko, anticipating her movements, but the upperclassmen keeps slipping into the ground and appearing elsewhere.
Makoto: She’s came up from the left three times now. I’ve got you!
Right on cue, Momoko emerges from the ground on Makoto’s left side. But this time, she was expecting it.
Makoto leaps into action, aiming a quick jab towards where she predicts Momoko will appear.
Momoko: You don’t though! Makoto’s eyes widen in surprise as her arm phases through Momoko and she feels a sharp pain shoot through her jaw with a second blow.
She barely had time to react before the world is spinning around her and she’s on the ground, her body aching from the impact.
Momoko: Better luck next time newbie!
Makoto groans in pain, her body protesting the fall. Her jaw throbbed from the hit, and she could already feel the beginnings of a bruise forming on her body.
She slowly pushes herself to her feet, a look of determination in her eyes despite the pain and fatigue.
Makoto puts an ice pack on her cheek as she calls her father. She has a couple questions she needs answered. Makoto: Dad are you there?
After a moment, there’s a groggy response on the other end of the call.
Mineta: Yeah, I’m here. Is everything alright, sweetheart?
Makoto: S-Sorry is this a bad time?
Mineta chuckles softly on the other end, his voice still a little groggy but warm.
Mineta: It’s fine, don’t worry. What’s up, sweetie?
Makoto: Did anything weird happen to your body during your time on the run?
There’s a pause on the other end as Mineta thinks back to his time on the run. He knew that whatever he answered will most likely lead to more questions, but he trusts his sweetheart to handle the truth.
Mineta: Yeah, some weird things happened to my body. Why do you ask?
Makoto: Some things have been happening lately. First it happened during the final exams, then during the provisional license exams and now today. There’s a momentary pause on the line, and you can hear the sound of Mineta’s bed creaking as he sits up.
Mineta’s eyebrows furrow as he listens to Makoto’s words, his mind racing to make sense of what she’s saying.
Mineta: Wait, what do you mean, ‘some things have been happening’? What kind of things exactly?
Makoto: I don’t know Dad, it feels like my skin is tearing and these sharp bones shoot out of me. Dad I don’t know what’s happening to me!
Mineta’s heart sinks as he listens to his daughter’s panicked words. Clearly she’s stressed and confused by whatever is happening.
Mineta: Woah, woah, woah, slow down, sweetheart. Take a deep breath and tell me exactly what’s happening to you.
Makoto: I don’t know Dad and I’m afraid!
Mineta’s heart aches hearing the fear in his daughter’s voice. He’s never heard her sound so terrified before.
Mineta: Hey, hey, it’s okay. You’re going to be fine. I promise.
He takes a deep breath himself, trying to stay calm and reassuring for her sake.
Mineta: There were a couple moments when my quirk was pushed to its limit. It’s how I unlocked my grape-skin.
Makoto: Did it…hurt?
Mineta thinks back to those moments when his quirk was pushed to its limits. The pain was overwhelming, but he had gritted his teeth and pushed through it.
Mineta: Yeah, sweetheart. It hurt like hell. I could feel clotted wounds reopen and am immediately damp with all the fresh blood leaving me.
Makoto: I don’t think I’m strong enough to withstand that again…
Mineta feels a pang in his chest at Makoto’s admission. He hates seeing her vulnerable like this, struggling and hurting.
Mineta: Hey, hey, don’t say that. You’re stronger than you think, kiddo. You’ve already been through so much.
He pauses and takes a deep breath, choosing his words carefully.
Mineta: Look, I know this is scary, and it’s painful, but sometimes our quirks push us past our limits.
Makoto: Can you…teach me?
Mineta is momentarily taken aback by Makoto’s request.
But after a beat, he straightens his back and a determined look appears on his face.
Mineta: Yeah, kiddo. I’ll teach you. We’ll get through this together. **
Shiryu was asleep in his cot at the MVHA when someone knocked on his door. He opens it to find his classmate Davey standing with an innocent smile. Shiryu: What is it?
Davey fidgets his fingers together, an air of innocence about him.
Davey: Heya, can I ask you something?
Shiryu: sigh What Davey? His dorm mate’s optimism was exhausting but Shiryu didn’t have the heart to ever say that, no matter how much of a front he put on. The morning light reflected off his shark-like teeth.
Davey looks at Shiryu, his eyes wide with curiosity. He was used to Shiryu’s tired demeanor at this point, and it never really bothered him.
Davey: Well… I was wondering if you’d like to meet someone today?
As endearing as Davey’s golden retriever attitude was, this was new. What was he planning? Shiryu: Alright fine…
A grin spreads over Davey’s face as he hears Shiryu’s response, feeling victorious that he’d managed to get him to agree.
Davey: Great! You’re going to love them, I promise! They’re seriously the coolest!
As Shiryu follows Davey down the hallway, he can’t help but feel a bit puzzled about where they’re going and who they’re supposed to meet.
Davey, on the other hand, is practically bouncing in excitement, occasionally glancing back at Shiryu with a knowing smile.
As soon as they come on deck, Shiryu feels his heart crawl into his throat as his eyes fall on a familiar pair of rabbit ears. Out of the two heroes in the entire world he actually respects, Mirko was the one he both feared and admired. A fearless independent hero with a brash demeanor. He’d hoped some day he’d be able to have a heart to heart with her but then he’d never hear the end of it from anyone that knew him.
Mirko spots the boys as they approach, her sharp bunny ears twitching in their direction. She regards Davey with a warm smile, and then turns her gaze to Shiryu, a smirk playing on her lips.
Mirko: Well look who it is, the little emo. Didn’t think you’d actually show.
Shiryu: Eh—I…Hi.
Mirko chuckles at Shiryu’s awkward greeting, clearly amused by his obvious fluster in her presence.
Mirko: Relax, kid. I’m not gonna bite.
She glances at Davey, a playful glint in her eyes.
Mirko: Thanks for bringing him here, Davey.
Shiryu grabbed Davey’s arm and looks at him menacingly, which didn’t seem to work since he was taller than him by a lot. Shiryu: How did you know, I haven’t even told Emi!
Davey laughs at the scene, not intimidated by Shiryu’s attempt to look menacing. He knows that his friend isn’t actually angry, just embarrassed.
Davey: Oh come on, everyone knows you’re a Mirko fanboy. You’re not exactly subtle about it.
Mirko chuckles at the exchange, her ears twitching with amusement.
Okay sure he imitates a few of her moves but he was subtle enough about it…right?
In reality, he wasn’t as subtle as he thought. His friends at school have noticed the way he imitates her combat moves during training sessions, and how he occasionally slips into her signature stances when he’s not thinking.
Mirko grins at Shiryu’s denial, her sharp eyes reading him like an open book.
Davey: I’ll just leave you two alone, call me if you need me! Shiryu: Wait don’t you dare leave me—dammit…
Before Shiryu can utter a word, Davey has already scurried off, leaving him alone with Mirko.
Mirko regards him with a casual smirk, her stance relaxed as she leans against the railing of the ship.
Mirko: So…do we just stand here awkwardly or what?
Shiryu took a breath as he scratched away at his arm. Shiryu: Do you know who I am?
Mirko watches Shiryu scratch his arm, her sharp eyes taking note of the nervous gesture.
She nods, a smirk playing on her lips.
Mirko: Yeah, I know who you are. Everyone knows who you are.
Shiryu: And you’re not…repulsed by me?
Mirko tilts her head, her rabbit ears twitching curiously.
She studies him for a moment, her smirk now a soft smile.
Mirko: Repulsed? Nah, I’ve seen far worse. Besides, you’re just a kid, a product of your genetics.
She steps closer, resting a hand on his shoulder.
Mirko: Look, I’m not the type to judge someone based on their parent’s sins. You’re your own person.
Shiryu: Oh…so you don’t remember my mother? You were the one who put her in prison.
Mirko’s expression turns serious as she stares at Shiryu, her hand still on his shoulder. She clearly remembers the incident.
She nods slowly, her eyes meeting his with a steely gaze.
Mirko: Yeah, I remember.
Tomoe Nadehiko, an up and coming assassin said to the second coming of the former hero Lady Nagant. Her quirk let her ignite her left arm to create a bow and arrow made of flames that were strong enough to tear limbs and be controlled from afar. She had been contracted twice, once by a demented cult of pyromaniacs that she was trapped in, and then by the Red Winter project when she’d forced herself onto Minoru Mineta…and given birth to Shiryu. Shiryu: You were able to thwart her assassination attempt because you could hear where she was hiding and she wasn’t good at close range.
Mirko: Your mom put up a hell of a fight, but she wasn’t invincible. Her quirk gave her an advantage, but it wasn’t enough to beat me.
Shiryu: Did…she mention me?
Mirko pauses, the question catching her off guard. It’s not everyday she’s asked about the thoughts of a criminal she defeated.
She shakes her head, her expression unreadable.
Mirko: No, she didn’t mention you at all. It was like you didn’t even exist to her.
Shiryu: There’s something else too…
Mirko looks at Shiryu in mild surprise, sensing that whatever he wants to say next is important.
Shiryu: Knowing the circumstances of my birth, you know I was…augmented with other quirks. One of them belonged to a wild man with fangs and claws paired with a bad personality.
Mirko’s expression darkens at Shryu’s confession. She knew about the illegal quirk augmentation that led to Shiryu’s creation, but hearing him describe the additional quirks given to him brings a wave of disgust.
She squeezes his shoulder, her voice laced with a hint of anger at the thought.
Mirko: Yeah, I know…And that wild man’s quirk gave you predatory instincts, didn’t it?
Shiryu: Among other issues like anger problems. Look I want to know if you could…teach me things.
Mirko’s expression softens a bit at his question, her hand loosening its grip on his shoulder.
She considers his request for a moment, studying his face with her keen eyes.
Mirko: You want me to teach you? To help you manage your predatory instincts?
Shiryu: I refuse to be overcome by any compulsion like that freak from the league of villains. I’m going to use this and won’t be pitied for it!
Mirko tilts her head, her sharp ears twitching in curiosity.
She studies Shiryu’s intense expression, clearly caught off guard by his determination.
Mirko: “Freak from the League of Villains," huh? You mean Toga?
Shiryu: She was a hypocritical maniac with a lucid addiction, who thought she had it the worst. Uravity was a fool for ever buying into her victim mentality
Mirko nods in agreement, her lips pursing in a thin line. She has to agree that Toga’s antics in the past were far from rational and definitely not endearing.
Mirko: Yeah, Toga’s definitely a piece of work. Her victim mentality is bullshit, and her obsession with drinking blood is…disturbing.
Shiryu: And yet everyone insists that her and the rest of those thugs are the greatest victims of society! Well no more, I will not be a “victim of society” I’m owning this shit.
Mirko watches Shiryu’s passionate declaration, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
She’s never seen the usually reserved and stoic boy so riled up before, and its quite a sight. She can’t help but be impressed by his resolve.
Mirko: Damn kid, didn’t peg you for the type to get fired up. I like that attitude. Alright, I’ll train you.
Shiryu: Wait really?
Mirko chuckles, amused by his surprised expression.
Mirko: Yeah, really. We start tomorrow morning, early. Can’t have slackers on my watch. ** Shoto held Cere’s hand tightly as he walked her to the last known location of the former hero Endeavor…his father. He never completely forgave his father for the abuse he endured and their family drama. But he couldn’t help but acknowledge his skill as a hero and an instructor, skills that Cere needed right now.
Cere follows along silently, her hand gripped tightly in Shoto’s. She could feel his tension and anxiety, sensing that he was dreading this encounter.
She glances up at him, her pale eyes filled with concern.
Cere: Are you sure about this, Sho? We don’t have to meet your father if you’re uncomfortable.
Shoto couldn’t help but smile down at his adopted daughter and lifted her on his shoulder. He was reluctant to lie to her, partly because she could read his mind anyway. Shoto: If you are to get a better handle on your quirk…we need to see him.
Cere clutches onto Shoto’s shoulder, her small arms wrapped around his neck. She stares down at him, her expression a mix of worry and determination.
She nods slowly, silently processing his words. She knows the importance of getting control of her out-of-balance Quirk, and if meeting his father is the only option, then she will do it.
Cere: Okay…I’m ready.
Shoto enters the room, holding Cere firmly on his shoulder. His gaze immediately falls upon the man seated behind the desk, his father. He takes note of the burn marks covering his face and the missing arm. It’s clear that his father has seen his fair share of battles and been through a lot.
Shoto swallows heavily, the mixture of emotions swirling within him nearly overwhelming him. After all the things his father put him through in the past, facing him again is undoubtedly hard.
Endeavor: Shoto? What are you… His sharp eyes fall towards the girl on his shoulder.
Shoto continues to hold Cere close, her small figure a source of grounding him in the tense atmosphere.
He forces himself to speak, his voice steady despite the turmoil he’s feeling inside.
Shoto: Endeavor…I’m here for Cere to learn to control her Quirk. Her power is stronger than she can handle, and she needs guidance.
Endeavor gazes at Cere, his sharp eyes sizing her up. He can sense the raw power radiating from her petite form and can’t help but be intrigued. Despite her young age, he can tell that she holds great potential as a future hero.
Endeavor: I… remember her now, she’s the girl you were asked to look after when your friend had died. Natsuo brought her to me once…
Shoto: Natsu, why would he…
Endeavor leans back in his wheelchair, his expression turning solemn.
He looks back at Shoto, his cold gaze meeting with his son’s.
Endeavor: Natsu was…insistent on introducing her to me. Said he wanted to show her what bad parenting looked like.
Shoto’s eyes widen slightly at the unexpected revelation. He couldn’t believe that Natsu, the friendly goofball, would say something like that about his father, especially to Cere.
He glances at Cere, who seems unbothered by this information, her expression as neutral as ever.
Turning back to Endeavor, Shoto tries to process this new information, his mind racing with unanswered questions.
Cere: If you don’t mind I know all about who you are and what you did and frankly I don’t care. All I care about is that you can teach me how to use these quirks in my messed up body the right way. Now can you do it or not?
Endeavor’s eye twitches at Cere’s bluntness, unused to being spoken to in such a manner. However, he can’t deny the determination in her eyes and the seriousness in her voice.
He takes a moment to collect himself, then gives her a nod.
Endeavor: Yes, I can. But be warned, this won’t be easy. My training methods are intense and demanding. Are you up for it?
Shoto: Hold on a second, you’re not about to- Cere: I accept. Shoto: Cere!
Endeavor’s expression softens slightly as he regards Shoto. He can see the concern in his son’s eyes, but he also can’t deny the confidence and resolve in Cere’s tone.
Endeavor: I learned my lesson after what happened to you and Touya. I won’t repeat that mistake ever again.
Shoto lets out a frustrated sigh, torn between trusting his father’s words and protecting the small girl on his shoulder.
Shoto: I…Okay. But if you even think about pushing her too hard…
Cere: My quirks are Radiohead and Black Blood.
Endeavor listens intently to Cere’s explanation of her quirks, his expression turning thoughtful.
Endeavor: “Radiohead” allows you to use these electrical signals to communicate with people from a distance and also interpret the electrical signals in the brains of others, correct?
Cere: Yes, and Black Blood is a secondary quirk I got from the experiments that were conducted on my Father…
Endeavor frowns at the mention of the experiments on her father. He can sense the weight and darkness that come with those memories.
Endeavor: “Black Blood”…sounds like it has some dark properties. Can you elaborate on what exactly this quirk does?
Cere: It first triggered when I skimmed my knee as a child. I’d never experienced pain before and I freaked out, it makes my blood vessels harden to where nothing pierces my skin.
Endeavor’s eyebrows raise in surprise at the explanation. He can already see the potential applications of such a quirk in combat scenarios.
Endeavor: So “Black Blood” essentially makes you immune to most external attacks. That is…quite the quirk. And what about its drawbacks?
Cere: I…don’t know yet…
Endeavor raises an eyebrow in concern at the uncertainty in her voice. He can sense that there’s something bothering her about her quirk.
Endeavor: You sound unsure. Is there something about “Black Blood” that troubles you?
Cere: So far it’s only happened when I’ve gotten hurt, and usually something bad happens after that…
Endeavor picks up on the unease in Cere’s voice and senses that whatever happens with “Black Blood” is a sensitive topic for her. He decides not to press the issue further, understanding that she has her boundaries and doesn’t want to share.
Endeavor: Okay. I respect your decision not to talk about it.
He shifts his gaze to Shoto, who is still holding Cere on his shoulder. He can see the protective glimmer in his eyes as he looks down at her.
Shoto: I’m trusting you to train her without hurting her like you did me. Don’t make me regret it.
Endeavor nods, taking Shoto’s words to heart. He knows that he has a lot to make up to his son and that training Cere is an opportunity to prove himself as a better mentor and a better man.
Endeavor: You have my word. I will train her the right way, without any unnecessary harshness or harm.
Shoto sets her on the ground and grips her shoulders, parting her hair to reveal her cataract eyes. Shoto: Promise me you’ll stay safe, if it gets too difficult you can quit anytime.
Cere looks up at Shoto, her pale eyes meeting his. She can sense his concern and anxiety radiating off of him like a physical force. She places a small hand on his, reassuring him with her touch.
She nods firmly, her expression serious and determined. Cere speaks in her soft voice.
Cere: I promise. I’ll be careful and I’ll quit if it’s too much.
I'm trying to write a fic that goes into more detail about Mineta’s flaws and insecurities as a character. He has to grow and overcome these while staying true to the canon events, excluding some scenes I think are unnecessary. I'm trying to fit it into the Finals exam-hero license. So far the plot outline is like this, He become self aware of his insecurities and flaws and is determined to push through them by the end of 1st semester after finals, some free time in the summer where I can write whatever cute stuff or fun things I can think of, (I gotta include the pool race), (Decide if I want the movie to be a thing), Then start the forest arc where he starts developing into a more courageous and heroic person who’s mature and responsible while still being kind of a perv though toned down.
This is an idea that came into my head for a while that I didn't even believe I had this but after thinking a lot about it and seeing that there was even an art about it and after thinking and researching a lot I discovered two things
1st I realized I'm a fan of Mineta
2nd I found out about the existence of this sanctuary where I believe that others like me can survive and prosper and thank the superior being who had the courage and strength to create this vineyard of grapes and wine of peace, tranquility and philosophical debates where I spend most of my time of time just reading the comments even as a "wine observer" (that sounded much cooler in my head).
But anyway, my idea that sprouted in my head like a grape was to see if there was or even make a fanfic about Mineta from an alternative universe where he gains or even is born with the powers of Spider-Man and becomes the web-caped man of that alternative universe and I imagined several ways of how this would be and how this could have happened and I think that was when my brain remembered the MARVEL WHAT IF SERIES that shows how a simple idea or event that was different from the events that already occur in the Marvel universe could have A completely different result was triggered by the missing piece of my Mona Lisa, the fork for my spaghetti and any other phrase that serves that purpose.
What if Yoichi Shigaraki (the first bearer of one for ALL and younger brother of ALL for one) and ALL for one had never been born?
Think about the butterfly effect that this would have caused in the BNHA universe
We are talking about a complete change in the story of Boku no Hero Academia
(Narrator)
Hours have passed since Mineta decided to travel with Clair without knowing how much trouble he's gotten himself in. They were arriving at the Goldenrod City, Mineta wanted to search at the location where that man he first talked to disappeared. Clair on the other hand was being rather grumpy as usual.
As Mineta and Clair were walking, trainers were glaring at her, they were not happy to see her.
"Not her."
"What's SHE doing here?"
"Probably wants to lose to Whitney."
"I hope that kid will be okay around."
"What a jerk."
"Just great, the sore loser."
Mineta can hear Clair groan from hearing the trainers complaining about her as if she couldn't hear them, "Hey um, are you okay, Clair?" asked Mineta.
"Shut up." Clair responded.
"Hey, I'm trying to be nice. Look, don't let them get to you, I dealt with these types of people before." said Mineta, he tried to calm Clair's nerves.
"I said Shut up!" Clair raised her voice, was she talking to Mineta or the trainers?
"J-just calm down and let's just talk." Mineta was getting scared, she was fuming with rage. Suddenly, Clair turned around and knocked out a man who was right next to Mineta. She glared at everyone, making them leave. She turned her attention to Mineta, who was hoping that she wouldn't hurt him, "Let's just find somewhere to sleep, we can investigate in the morning." he said and internally thought 'please don't hurt me!' Clair didn't say anything, she just went into the Pokemon Center.
"Hello, Clair, I didn't expect to see you here. Oh, hello again, little fella." greeted Nurse Joy who then notices Clair's upset state, "Is there something wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing. I'm fine. Just need some rest." Clair said as she went to find a bed.
"We just ran into some jerks, but tomorrow we're gonna find the people that went missing." said Mineta, making Nurse Joy proud, Clair simply groaned at them. Two beds were available and Mineta saw her get into her bed, "So, do you wanna talk?" he asked,
Clair didn't want to talk about what happened, "Just leave me alone." she said before going to sleep, or tried to.
Mineta looked at her sympathetically and said "Listen, when this is all over, you won't have to put up with being treated like this anymore."
"I don't wanna talk about it. Just go to sleep." Clair said, she finally went to sleep. Mineta hopes that saving trainers will get people to like her, or when it's over, they swap places and she'll be adored by people so easily.
(Narrator)
It's not even the next day, and Clair hasn't bothered trying to get along with Mineta. He should've picked Whitney, at least he wouldn't be terrorized. And if THAT wasn't enough, Clair's not a heavy sleeper.
2 hours passed at night, and Mineta woke up from a bad dream. He looked at Clair, who was still asleep, and approached her so he can try to wake her up so he can talk to her for a bit. But he stopped and took a good look at her, she seemed so peaceful yet sad at the same time. She looked beautiful up close. He was gonna leave her alone, until he saw her boobs weren't covered, he was honestly mesmerized by their size "so huge." he thought to himself, he felt that there were neon signs on Clair's breasts that said "KISS ME" on them, he was tempted to, but he recalled that she was upset earlier and remembered that she was gonna put him in a world of hurt if he pull a stunt like that.
He decided to pull the blanket up to cover Clair's breast, suddenly her hand grabbed Mineta's and pulled him to her face, then her eyes opened with a glare, "Uh, I can explain." Mineta said in fear, little did he know, Clair woke up when he was near her, and saw him staring at her breast, and she was really upset.
(Narrator)
Long story short, this was the worst night Mineta has ever had in Pokemon. You wanna know what happened? Imagine being 12 and your mom found out you were smoking. The next morning wasn't much of a good morning.
Mineta and Clair walked out of the Pokemon Center, Clair had an angry look, while Mineta was still feeling pain from Clair's whip, "Please, let me explain, it wasn't what it looked like." Mineta tried to explain what he was doing.
"You try to touch me in my sleep again, and I'll break both of your arms!" Clair threatens, not wanting to hear any excuses from him.
They visited the very spot Mineta was at when someone disappeared, by the Pokemon Daycare in front of a forest. "This was where that man disappeared, maybe we can search for clues to find out what happened." said Mineta, they begin to search for any evidence to find out what could be happening to trainers.
Clair noticed that something was wrong "If someone disappeared here, then how come no one here reported what happened?" she asked out loud, so she decided to enter the daycare and was shocked, the daycare was empty and there was a Team Plasma Grunt.
"What the?! A Gym Leader?" The Grunt shouted, he was not prepared to see a Gym Leader.
"Wait a minute, what's he doing in Johto?" asked Mineta, he heard about them from Iris, but they were in Unova. What were they doing all the way out here?
The Grunt sent out a Liepard to defend himself "Heh, pathetic." Clair chuckled as she chose Dragonair, Mineta could only watch as he didn't have Pokemon, but he wanted to help.
To Clair's annoyance, Liepard defeated her Dragonair, due to having a fairy type move. Out of pure anger, she choses Kingdra to finish off Liepard. The grunt tried to send out another Pokemon, but Mineta used his quirk to immobilize him. The grunt was shocked and confused about the balls, "What are these things? I'm stuck!" he said as he struggled to free himself.
"Did those actually come out of your head?" asked Clair who was honestly confused and weirded out.
Mineta nodded and responded "It's my superpower, pretty awesome, right?"
"Next time when I'm battling, stay out of it! I didn't need your help!" Clair said harshly, she was upset that Mineta stopped the grunt before the battle was over, she turned her attention back to the grunt and asked "Tell us, were you and your team responsible for the disappearance of the trainers?"
The grunt sighed as he knew he wouldn't get out of this, and Mineta's sticky balls, he answered, "Not entirely, our boss decided to cooperate with Team Galactic's boss. But I don't know why they wanted the trainers."
"Are there more of you?" asked Clair, she found it very suspicious that two evil teams are working together to capture trainers in Kanto and Johto.
"No, just me, the Galactic Grunt and our bosses." the grunt answered.
Mineta noticed that the grunt is giving them some information far too easily "Okay, something's not right, why are you giving straight answers without resisting?" he asked.
"I gave all the info i know." the grunt said, he sounded weird all of a sudden.
"Um, are you okay?" Mineta asked, there was something really wrong with the grunt. Clair then called Officer Jenny to let her know that they found one of the criminals who kidnapped the trainers.
Minutes later, the grunt was still acting weird Officer Jenny showed up, "Did something happen to make him act like this?" she asked while wondering if the strange purple orbs caused him to act like a zombie.
Clair didn't answer, but she turned her attention to Mineta, thinking those weird balls had a side effect on people, "Don't look at me! My powers wouldn't affect people like that." Mineta assured them, he did wonder why the grunt is acting like a zombie, it's like someone or something is making him act like that. "Also, he said that there was a Galactic Grunt somewhere, and their bosses." he added.
"Galactic Grunt? There was a report about a Galactic Grunt somewhere in Route 40." said an officer.
"Really? Where can we find Route 40?" asked Mineta who was determined to help, and find the man's missing child.
"You can either travel by sea or travel past Olivine City." Officer Jenny answered.
Clair was about to suggest traveling across the sea until Mineta said "We can travel by land. We can catch them in case they try to leave before we show up." Mineta suggested, he didn't want to risk having the Character Swap paper.
"Great idea! Report to us as soon as you catch them!" said Officer Jenny, she's honestly proud of how cooperative Mineta was, Clair on the other hand was rather aggravated.
(Narrator)
While the duo traveled to Olivine City to reach Route 40, Mineta was sadly wasting his time trying to get on Clair's "good side". If she actually had one.
"Clair? I know I shouldn't interrupt a Pokemon battle, I was j--" Mineta said before he was interrupted.
"Shut up! First I've been insulted, then you tried to touch me in my sleep, then ruined my battle and..GRAH!!" yelled Clair, she was getting more angrier than usual.
Mineta decided to tell her what really happened last night "Look! I wasn't trying to touch you!" he exclaimed.
"THEN WHAT WERE YOU DOING!?" Clair yelled out of anger.
A moment passed and Mineta calmly explained "When I was trying to wake you up and talk to you, but you looked sad when you were sleeping, so I didn't wanna bother you."
Clair was lost for words, she didn't think he noticed her being sad in her sleep, but her glare didn't falter. "Then why did you pull my blanket from my chest?" she asked.
"It was off of you when I woke up, I was trying to cover you up, honest." Mineta answered, he wasn't aware that Clair has trouble sleeping at times, she didn't want to admit it. She continued to walk and wanted to drop the matter. "So, do you believe me?" Mineta asked.
"Just shut up." said Clair, she was still upset, but she was calming down a bit.
(Narrator)
Well THAT went well, and what was up with that Plasma Grunt? He gave them some info so easily and then acted like his mind was being controlled. Or maybe, his mind WAS being controlled? You'll find out sometime later.
i’m not trying to spread hate or slander about mineta, i’m simply confused. after reading the manga (i haven’t watched the show or the movies) my main impression of him is that he is just extremely pervy. he attempts to look at the girls naked and gropes them multiple times, so i genuinely want to see why people would like him and if there’s something i’ve missed.
Hello Ladies and Gentlemens!
I remember to heard this song long ago from a new band from my country Argentina. This band called "Saturno" (Saturn in english) made this song and it´s lyric definetly fits for a romantic moment or at least a moment of connection between Mineta and her special one.
The title of the song is "Wine and Sex", that´s why I label it as +18. Wanted to share with you this song, searching for opinions about it and if I should use it in a fanfic.
Let me know in your comments.

"Wine and Sex" by Saturno
*
I have the feeling
that you want to be with me
tonight...
*
you think about it in the future
you play with...
the stars...
*
Like bees seducing flowers,
to extract its nectar
*
You explore with the freedom of your veins,
Knowing the ecstasy it causes you
*
You will taste my heart,
Flooded in alcohol...
*
Let's go there to that place...
that you like...
*
Let's unite our bodies
With Wine and Sex...
there will be no silence...!
Just pleasure...
*
I know that tomorrow you will wake up,
and we will erase ourselves,
like an unfinished story
*
Our anxiety allows us to read...
The best part...
*
There is something I must tell you;
In this story there are no protagonists,
just feelings.
*
I feel you and dance,
in your universe...
*
Let's go there to that place...
that you like...
*
Let's unite our bodies
With Wine and Sex...
there will be no silence...!
Just pleasure...
*
Let's go there to that place...
that you like...
*
Let's unite our bodies
With Wine and Sex...
there will be no silence...!
Just pleasure...
*
I know that tomorrow you will wake up,
and we will erase ourselves,
like an unfinished story

NOTE: This based off of u/SpicyBandicoot's "The Pervert and The Sore Loser" Fanfic.
(Context is that after realizing how much hate Mineta has garnered from his fandom, and wanting to make things right with him after being a somewhat bratty bitch. She decided to get answers from a certain hypnotist)
“Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!” Clair said to both Shinso and the background character he was hanging out with, getting their attention. “Hey! Hey! Hey!” Both characters got defensive. “Did any of you see Mineta pass by here recently?” Clair asked, but Shinso just scoffed. “Yeah, I saw him, brat! But I’m not telling you where he went, and there’s no way you’re gonna make me!”
Clair just glared at the second-most overrated MHA character. “Oh, yeah?”
Soon, we cut to Shinso tied up and tossed near his fandom. “Mine?” A MHA fan spotted Shinso, who yelps. “Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!” The MHA Fandom begins to get riled up, causing Shinso to panic and give in. “Alright! I’ll talk! I’ll talk! He went to his property in a small rural town! I’ll give you the address!”
Feeling satisfied with her answer, she pulls Shinso back, who yelps just as the MHA Fandom nearly got to him.
I like to let the r/ChurchOfMineta know that I am now a member of the Ao3 family today. I'm still going to write on Wattpad and here at the r/ChurchOfMineta. But that's the news I wanted to share.
We’re all well aware of the biggest trope in My Hero Academia fanfictions, that being Mineta getting expelled and never to return. But, what if we get a fanfiction that subverts the trope where Mineta does get expelled but Mineta decides he won’t let things end like that. He’ll then go on a journey to prove he’s worthy of being in the hero course, and be allowed back into the hero course.
The rest of the class was currently in the common lounge, sitting around and engaging in conversation. Everyone of the class was worried for Makoto, and were in the middle of discussing her when they heard a knock at the door of the dorms.
Curious, Aoyama was the first to get up from his seat and head towards the door. He checked the peephole to see who was on the other side before opening it a crack.
They were greeted a teenage boy with tan skin and short, unkempt blond hair. He also had a strange bow-legged walk and wore sunglasses and arrogant grin plastered across his face. Hello peons, your superior has arrived!
Takiyo raised an eyebrow at the boy's grandiose entrance, taking a moment to process his words. He crossed his arms over his chest and studied the boy skeptically.
Takiyo: 'Superior'? Just who exactly are you supposed to be?
Hm tough crowd, anyway I’m Raiko Shirakawa, and you all will have the honor of having me in your class!
Now thoroughly bewildered, Takiyo glances back at his group of classmates, silently asking for help. They all shrug cluelessly, just as confused as he is. Hahena: And what makes you think that you’re going to be a part of this class all of a sudden?
Raiko: Because I’m joining this class because I was admitted. What are you all too stupid to get that?
Hime: Hey Sophie I think we found your long lost cousin on your dad’s side. Toshinori: That doesn’t exactly explain why you think you can just waltz into our class.
Takiyo's irritation grew at the boy's rude demeanor. He clenched his fists, ready to snap back.
Takiyo: Look here smart ass, just because you got admitted doesn't mean you're immediately part of this class. That's not how this works
Raiko: Because I’m the greatest, so it should go without saying that I belong in the supposed best hero school in the country. I’ll be replacing that harlot Makoto soon enough.
The class's collective shock and anger flared at his words. Shoka’s hands clenched into a tight fist as he fought to refrain from punching him.
Shoka: What did you say asshole?
Raiko: I said that girl is as good as gone with her screwups as of lately. Turning into a monster with her Dad, letting a civilian get hurt during the licensing exam, and now violent sleepwalking. Do you really think they’ll let her stay at this school when she’s obviously got a screw loose?
The group of teens stare at him in horror and anger. How dare he speak ill of a girl who had sacrificed so much already.
Sophie clenched her jaw, trying to maintain her temper.
Sophie: You know nothing about what she's been through, you moron. Shut your mouth before you end up eating through a straw.
Raiko: What’s the big deal, your parents nearly did the same thing to her dad with that Shinsou guy.
Shoka: You don’t get to talk about our parents. You know nothing about what happened.
Raiko: Oh, are you the spokesperson for your whole class? Guess that ditsy Yaoyorozu woman was good for something right?
Takiyo bristled at his words, his patience wearing thin.
Takiyo: Watch what you say about our classmates, you jerk.
Raiko: Oh don't feel too bad about it kid, I didn't call her an idiot or anything, just ditsy. But then again...
Sophie's eyes flash dangerously, her hands clenched into fists.
Sophie: If you call her ditsy one more time, you’re going to be spending the rest of your first day at school in the infirmary.
Suddenly Raiko feels something grabbing his shirt. He looks down at the pale blue eyed kid that was now fuming at him. Kemaru: Outside. NOW!
Raiko looks down at him, surprised by his sudden outburst. But he quickly regains his arrogant demeanor, scoffing at Kemaru.
Raiko: And what are you gonna do about it, squirt?
Before anyone could blink, Raiko was suddenly ten toes off the ground and tumbling midair towards the nearest window. Kemaru was already rushing after him, this definitely wasn’t normal behavior from him.
The rest of the class stood frozen in shock, unable to believe the sight that had just unfolded before them. But Shoka was the first to snap out of it, quickly scrambling to catch up with Kemaru.
Shoka: K-Kemaru! What the hell are you doing?
Kemaru: Where did he go! The rest of the class was suddenly at the window. They found that Raiko had indeed vanished somehow and Kemaru was still unsatisfied.
Takiyo looked around in confusion, his eyes quickly scanning the surrounding area. But there was no sign of Raiko anywhere.
Takiyo: Where the heck did he go?
Sophie shared his confusion, her eyes darting back and forth anxiously.
Sophie: This…This doesn’t make any sense. It’s like he disappeared into thin air.
Just then Mr Aizawa walked into the common area. Aizawa: What’s all this noise, and who broke the window?!
The entire class turned to face Aizawa as he entered the common room. Takiyo quickly stepped forward to explain the situation.
Takiyo: Sensei, someone showed up to the dorm claiming he was going to join our class and started mouthing off at us. Then he started talking about Makoto and that pissed us off, especially for Kemaru.
Aizawa rubbed the bridge of his nose as he listened to the class explaining what just occurred. He was silently counting in his head as to not let his temper get out of control. This is not what he was expecting when he walked into the dorms.
Mr. Aizawa: Let me get this straight...Kemaru just threw someone out the window?
Nazareth: I don’t believe it either, and I’m dating the guy.
Sophie nods vigorously, her eyes still wide with shock.
Sophie: We were all speechless. The dude was a total jerk, but we never expected Kemaru to react like that. He’s usually so calm all the time…
Daisuke: The person he threw came off very rude and assumed he was replacing Makoto.
Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. He hadn’t expected today to go like this.
Aizawa: Did he give a name? Did any of you see where he ran off to?
Chihiro: Raiko Shirakawa, another weird thing, he somehow knew about what happened in the sewers and yesterday.
Aizawa’s eyes narrowed at the mention of the two incidents. It was odd for a stranger to know about those things. He let out a heavy sigh, his frown deepening.
Aizawa: That’s…interesting. This whole situation’s going to be a mess to deal with now.
Taiga: I-If it makes you feel better, Harumi can fix the window without any issues. Harumi: Mhmmm!
Aizawa nods, slightly relieved at the offer.
Aizawa: Thanks, Harumi. Once you’ve fixed the window, I need to have a serious talk with all of you.
Nazareth: C’mon Mr Aizawa, is that really necessary?
Aizawa turned his gaze to Nazareth, his expression stern.
Aizawa: Yes, it is. Despite the fact that you all are pro heroes-in-training now, you’re still kids. And you all just let one of your classmates physically assault someone without trying to stop it first. It was reckless and dangerous.
Hana: But he was so rude!
Aizawa lets out a sigh, his features softening slightly.
Aizawa: I understand that he was rude and that you were all worried about Makoto, but that doesn’t justify Kemaru resorting directly to violence. You all have to learn to handle difficult situations in a proper manner.
Aizawa pinches the bridge of his nose again, mentally preparing for the conversation ahead.
Aizawa: Now I’d like to get a full version of what happened from all of you. And don’t leave out any details, no matter how insignificant it may seem. **
Meanwhile Makoto sits up in her bed as she feels something scratching her brain.
Makoto groans, wincing as she tries to sit up in bed. The scratch inside her mind refuses to cease, growing stronger and stronger by the minute. She brings a hand up to rub her forehead, attempting to assuage the strange feeling.
You can’t run away. Makoto’s blood runs cold as she hears the voice of Sharaso Shirakawa in her mind. The pale flawless woman permeates her thoughts as she bolted upright.
Shock and fear course through Makoto as she recognizes the woman’s voice. Was this a nightmare? A hallucination?
She shakes her head, trying to clear her mind of the invasive voice that had suddenly appeared.
Makoto: G-Get out…of my head…
Sharaso: Your pretty little head belongs to me now.
Makoto’s eyes widen in terror, her heart pounding in her chest. What the hell was happening to her? This couldn’t be real, was it?
Makoto: N-No…Stay out!
Sharaso: Give me the reins and it’ll be over soon enough.
Makoto grips her head tightly, desperately trying to block out Sharaso’s voice. But it’s growing harder and harder to do so.
Makoto: I’m not letting you...take control…
Suddenly she feels a mass tackle her onto the floor. Sharaso: Soon enough, you’ll be in my arms again, begging me for comfort. My hooks are deep enough in you.
Makoto struggles against the invisible weight, flailing desperately as she attempts to free herself. She feels the presence of the woman growing stronger, the hooks digging deeper into her mind.
No…stop it…
Makoto! MAKOTO WAKE UP!!
The scream startles Makoto out of her sleep, jolting up in bed. Beads of sweat trickle down her forehead, her hands trembling at the horrible nightmare she just endured.
She glances around the room, desperately trying to catch her bearings and confirm that she was indeed awake now.
Only to find out that she’s not in her dorm anymore, she’s in the common area. And Shoka’s the one holding her down while the rest of her class stare in disbelief.
Confusion and panic take hold of her as she realizes her surroundings. How had she ended up here? And what the hell was going on?
She looks around anxiously at her classmates, her heart rate quickening.
Makoto: W-What happened? How did I get here?
Hatori: Kero You were sleepwalking again! You walked straight through the common area without even flinching at us.
Makoto’s eyes widen with horrified realization. Not again…She swallows hard, the nightmare she’d just experienced still fresh and vivid in her mind.
Makoto: How long was I sleepwalking for…?
Her classmates were milling around her as Shoka sat her up to think. Hatori wrapped a blanket around her shoulders as Frog-Shadow nuzzled her cheek. Hatori: You were standing at the door for ten minutes, mumbling something before Shoka brought you back.
Makoto looks down at her lap, her eyes darting around nervously. She can’t help but feel slightly humiliated, especially knowing that she had been sleepwalking in front of her classmates.
Makoto: I…I was m-mumbling…? What…What was I saying?
Chihiro: You just kept saying “Get out” over and over as you tried to get out the door.
Makoto feels a sense of dread wash over her. ‘Get out’…Was it just a coincidence or was it connected to the intrusive voice that had tormented her mind?
She shivers slightly and pulls the blanket tighter around herself, trying to take comfort in the warmth.
Hatori: I know that look, what are you hiding?
Makoto hesitates for a moment, caught off guard by Hatori’s question. She doesn’t know if she should admit to what she’d experienced in her Nightmare. But before she can think of an excuse, another voice breaks through the room’s silence.
Aizawa stands near the window, his eyes narrowed as he addresses the class.
Aizawa: I’m going to need to speak to Makoto. You all can go back to your rooms.
Makoto: Uhm yes sir?
Aizawa gazes at her for a moment, his expression stern but with a hint of concern in his eyes.
Aizawa: I have several matters to discuss with you. Is it alright if we talk? Preferably in private.
Makoto: Okay…
Aizawa nods and motions for her to follow. He leads her to a small empty room that served for his office.
After he closes the door behind them, he gestures for her to take a seat in one of the chairs in front of his desk.
Also waiting in the room was a tall muscular young woman with piercing eyes like a snake’s and a lithe young man with large sad eyes and periwinkle hair.
Makoto’s eyes widen at the sight of the strangers, an unexpected pang of worry and anxiety taking hold in her chest. Not only did she have to speak with Aizawa, but now these two as well?
She slowly takes a seat in one of the plush chairs, shifting nervously as she glances at the two new individuals.
Aizawa: Where’s Tenshi?
As if in response to Aizawa’s question, there’s a knock on the door. A moment later, a familiar face walks in the room. The winged boy she’d seen Hime clinging to on New Year’s.
Aizawa: Makoto, I’d like to introduce you to the current big three of UA. Tenshi Usagiyama, Momoko Togata, and Souji Hado.
Surprise washes over Makoto’s face as her eyes dart from each of the big three, taking in their striking features and powerful auras. The last thing she had expected was to be introduced to these powerful third years.
Aizawa’s voice snaps her out of her thoughts, and she suddenly realizes she should probably speak up.
Makoto: Uuuuuuh….
Momoko steps forward, her intense eyes never leaving Makoto. She studies the younger girl closely before a smirk spreads across her face. She places her hands on her hips and appraises her.
Momoko: Soooo, you’re Aizawa’s favorite problem child, huh?
Makoto: You’re…Lemillion and Medusa’s daughter? She took a few steps back. Even as a recluse she knows of this one’s stunning confrontational reputation.
Momoko lets out a loud, boisterous laugh at Makoto’s reaction. She places a confident hand on her hip and flashes a sharp smile.
Souji lets out a soft chuckle as he moves to stand next to Momoko.
Souji: Don’t worry, she’s not as scary as she looks.
Tenshi wasn’t as gentle though, he seemed to ooze scrutiny as he towered over her. The cold ferocious son of Mirko and Hawks and the best student of UA.
Tenshi’s sharp and stoic gaze pierces through her like lasers as if trying to analyze her every move.
Tenshi: So, you’re the one that’s been causing a ruckus the entire time you’ve been here, huh?
Makoto: So what if I am?
Momoko laughs loudly again, her smirk growing wider.
Momoko: I like this kid already.
Meanwhile, Tenshi just crosses his arms and silently stares at her with an unreadable expression.
Aizawa: Anyway, during your time off you will be doing training with them at the end of every week to keep up with the class.
Makoto’s eyes widen in surprise at the news. She glances around at the three upperclassmen, taking in their imposing presence.
Makoto: E-Every week…? With them…?
Meanwhile Raiko was off having fun with his “girlfriend” if you could call her that. She was really just an acquaintance he never let go of. She was the goth girl that tried to run off with Makoto at the concert.
Raiko had the mystery girl pinned up against the wall, holding her wrists in place on either side of her head. He was biting and sucking on her bottom lip before letting his tongue slide into her mouth and explore it. One of his legs was between her legs, helping keep her pressed against the wall as he continued to move his own body up against hers.
Raiko: I’m certainly looking forward to when I can have you all to myself, Ikuro Yamaji.
Ikuro, for her part, is blushing fiercely as Raiko has his way with her. Her body trembles from the sensations as he continues to bite and kiss at her skin.
Ikuro: Y-You’re a real tease, you know that?
Raiko: Yup...you’ve got it right on the mark...He planted another aggressive kiss on her black painted lips. Raiko: You’re mine remember?
Ikuro leans her head back against the wall, her skin tingling from his touch. She looks absolutely wrecked, her lipstick smudged and her shirt disheveled. Despite her predicament, she flashes a small smirk up at Raiko.
Ikuro: I’m yourssss? Is that so?
Suddenly Raiko’s phone rings and without missing a beat he answers it while still attending to Yamaji. Raiko:Raiko here, what’s up!
Doku: Please tell me you aren’t with that street girl again Raiko.
Raiko rolled his eyes once he heard the person on the other end was Doku. He wrapped an arm around Ikuro’s waist so she’d stay close to him as he spoke into the phone.
Raiko: You mean the lead forensic specialist’s sister? So what if I am, I do what I want!
Doku: Believe that all you want you still have to adhere to our plan and schedule, otherwise-
Raiko rolled his eyes as he sighed into the phone. He didn’t want to be getting a lecture from Doku about this right now while he was trying to spend time with Ikuro.
Raiko: I know, I know! And I know what happens if I don’t, alright? But I’m allowed to have some downtime away from all the work we have to do! Sorry but I have to go, I have plans to take care of, I'll talk to you later.
Doku: Raiko don’t you dare-
Before Doku can finish his sentence, Raiko snaps the phone shut. He turns his gaze back to Ikuro, a smirk on his lips. He moves his body and presses it closer to hers, his hands resting on her hips.
Raiko: Now, where was I…?
Ikuro: I’d say we were right where you had me pinned against the wall before that phone call, wasn’t that right, baby?
Raiko leans down and peppers her neck with kisses, his hands slowly trailing up her sides. He grins and lets out a soft chuckle against her skin, his hot breath sending a shiver down her spine.
Raiko: That’s right. I like the sound of that, you calling me ‘baby’. Has a nice ring to it. **
Akari Mineta sat in his room within the Kaminari residence chomping at the bit. He was only six years old and yet he’s experienced more tragedy than most people. His scarred left eye had come with a bad case of Alice in Wonderland syndrome. Everything around him just looked…wrong.
He was currently sitting on his bed, clutching a large purple stuffed rabbit toy that almost dwarfed his small size. He’d always had it as long as he could remember, the only thing that brought him comfort during the long, dark nights.
Suddenly the door opens as Denki Kaminari enters. Akari had always had a strange attachment to the electrical man, something to do with his “Father” he’d only seen once before. He’d been asked to refer to him as uncle Denki.
Akari’s eyes dart up to look at Denki as he enters the room. He clutches the stuffed rabbit close, shifting slightly on the bed.
Akari: Um…A-Uncle Denki….
Denki: Hey little buddy, you doing alright today?
Akari fiddles with the stuffed toy, avoiding eye contact with Denki. There’s a hint of anxiety and unease in his voice.
Akari: Y-Yeah…I’m…I’m alright….
Denki: So…where’s the glasses man, did he tell you anything?
Akari seems to shrink in on himself even more, and his hands tighten around the rabbit’s plush body. His voice comes out even softer than before.
Akari: Eero-san…? He said that he has to go somewhere. Won’t be back until later.
Denki scoffs at the notion that the presumptuous wheelchair bound man had left Akari unattended after boldly relieving him of his duties to watch him. Surely he would have left a camera or two behind.
Akari buries his face into the stuffed rabbit, hiding from Denki’s gaze. He’s clearly becoming increasingly uncomfortable and distressed.
Akari: C-Can you…Can you stay with me for a little, uncle Denki…?
Denki: Of course little buddy, I’m always here for you! He plopped down on the mattress next to his godson and put an arm around him and the plush toy.
Akari lets out a soft sigh of relief, leaning into Denki’s hold. He cuddles his stuffed rabbit close as he turns and practically buries his face against the man’s chest.
Denki’s smile falls as he notices the small boy adjusting his hat to cover his left eye. That night still haunts him, Kyoka lashing out on instinct because of Akari’s resemblance to his father.
Akari lets out a soft whimper as he clings to Denki, his body trembling like a leaf. He can sense the change in the man’s demeanor and looks up at him with his good eye.
Akari: Uncle Denki…? Is…something wrong…?
He gently reaches over and removes the hat from Akari’s head, setting it down on the bedside table.
Akari’s small hands shoot up and try to push Denki’s arms away, but only end up weakly grasping at them. He whimpers again as his scars are exposed, his eyes beginning to fill with tears.
Akari: Don’t…Don’t look at it….
Denki: Hey hey, it’s fine buddy, nothing too serious. I just want to see how you’re healing.
Akari’s bottom lip trembles as tears stream down his cheeks. Akari looks up at him, the tears now streaming down his cheeks. His left eye is completely red and nearly bloodshot, with several dark blue veins. His hands grip at Denki’s arms tighter as a small sob leaves his lips.
Akari: Don’t…Don’t lie…It’s…It’s ugly…
Denki: I promise you there’s nothing wrong with it, honestly. He picked him up and gave him a tight squeeze.
Akari lets out a small yelp in surprise as he’s suddenly lifted up and cradled against Denki’s chest. He lets out a shaky sigh and buries his face in the man’s clothes, tears and snot streaming down his face as he tries to calm his sobs.
Akari: Why does the earphone lady hate me, what did I do wrong?
Denki lets out a sigh and starts rubbing Akari’s back in small circles as he holds him close. His heart felt like it was twisting in his chest to hear the young boy question why someone doesn’t like him. Especially someone as dear to him as Kyoka.
Denki: She…She doesn’t hate you, Akari….It’s a bit complicated….
Akari: Then…why did she hurt me?
Denki lets out another sigh, holding onto the small boy a bit tighter. He looks down at him, meeting his one good eye with an apologetic gaze.
Denki: She…She didn’t mean to hurt you. It was an accident. She was scared and got confused and….and you looked like your father.
Akari seems to stiffen in Denki’s hold at the mention of his father. He swallows heavily and seems to shrink further into the older man’s chest, his small hands gripping at the fabric of his shirt.
Akari: I….I look like…him…?
Denki: Well more like how he used to look. Here. He reaches into his pocket and fished out an old photo. It was a group photo of their generation’s class 1-A, Mineta included. Akari looked at the small boy that looked just like him, save the purple hair in contrast to his magenta hair.
Akari’s mouth drops open in shock as he looks at the photo in Denki’s hand. The young boy in the picture looked so much like him, it was almost scary. He glances up at Denki with his one good eye, still wet with tears.
Akari: I…I look….so much like him…..
Denki: Yeah, your dad is my best buddy. We’ve been through a lot together and had loads of laughs…
Akari continues to stare down at the photo in awe, his small hands gripping onto it. He lets out a soft sniffle, trying to hold back any more tears. His voice is soft and shaky when he speaks again.
Akari: He…He was…your best friend…?
Denki: Still is… Denki grips his thighs, remembering how he couldn’t attend Mineta’s wedding ceremony because Kyoka was under the impression that he was a bad influence on Denki. He wasn’t going to miss anything else from now on.
Akari grips the photo tighter, a fresh wave of tears building up in his eyes. He looks up at Denki with a pleading look, his small hands still clutching the picture.
Akari: You…You promise you won’t…leave me….too…?**
Denki: Of course little buddy.
Akari lets out a small sob, burying his face in Denki’s chest again. He clings to the man tightly, with his small body shaking against him. Between his sobs, he lets out a soft plea that was filled with desperation and fear.
Akari: D-Don’t….Don’t abandon me….
Denki’s heart twists even more as he hears Akari’s plea. His arms tighten around the young boy, his chin resting against his head in a protective hold.
Denki: Never, little buddy. I’ll always be here for you. I promise.
At that confirmation, something very dark dwelling within him receded for the moment.
Denki’s eyes widen in surprise when he noticed Akari had fallen asleep in his lap. For a moment, he simply stares down at the young boy, an overwhelming feeling of paternal instinct washing over him. He moves a hand up and gently runs his fingers through Akari’s hair.
Denki: I’ll never turn my back on you…not ever…
As Denki lays him down and tucks him in, someone stood out in the hallway. Kyoka slouched against the wall as she lamented the pain she’d inflicted upon an innocent child. She’d traumatized a little kid because she couldn’t move on and now he was scared for his life.
Kyoka continues to silently stand there, staring down at the floor. Her hands clenching at her sides. Her stomach twisted in guilt and shame. She could still remember it so vividly, the terror in his small eyes, the tears and blood streaming down from that eye…it all haunted her dreams, a constant reminder of the pain she’d inflicted.
Kyoka: He was just a kid…God why did I have to…
Kyoka’s body trembles slightly as the memories continue to flash in her mind. The pain she’d seen in Akari’s eyes haunts her day and night. The fear in his voice when he’d pleaded for her to stop, to say she was scared…it broke her heart. She buries her face in her hands as the guilt continues to eat away at her like poison. Kyoka lets out a shaky sigh, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kyoka: I’m a monster….
Wanna talk about it? Kyoka looks up to her husband standing over her with a look of scrutiny.
Kyoka lets out a heavy sigh, her shoulders slumping in defeat. She looks up at her husband, exhaustion and guilt present in her eyes. She opens her mouth but no words come out at first. After a moment of hesitation, she manages to speak again, her voice low and filled with shame.
Kyoka: I…I did something awful….
Denki: Yeah…you did.
Kyoka flinches at Denki’s blunt remark, his words hitting her like a cold bucket of water to the face. The guilt and shame weigh heavily on her heart, and she can’t bring herself to look him in the eye.
Kyoka: I know….I know what I did was wrong….I just…I wasn’t thinking…
Denki continues to look down at her, his expression remaining firm. His words come out in a stern tone, filled with disappointment and frustration.
Denki: You weren’t thinking? You weren’t thinking when you attacked a defenseless four-year-old kid?
Kyoka: I know, all I saw was Mineta standing there and I just… I couldn’t stop thinking about our first year and all his stupid perverted antics that I blanked out!
Denki lets out an irritated huff, his patience beginning to wear thin. He crosses his arms, his expression still firm and unyielding.
Denki: And that justifies you lashing out at a toddler? Seriously, Kyoka?
Kyoka: I know I’m sorry, I can’t get it out of my head! Every single night it replays in my head! I hear his screaming every night, I can’t ever forgive myself. Tears dotted the floor beneath her as she cradled her knees to her chest. She then feels a hand on her face. Looking up she sees Denki has his old smile back.
Denki’s face softens, and he crouches down next to her. He gently wipes away her tears with his thumb, a hint of sympathy present in his eyes.
Denki: You know I can’t stay mad at you for long…
Kyoka: sniff You should…idiot…
Denki lets out a soft chuckle, his smile widening slightly.
Denki: You’re right, I am an idiot. But I’m your idiot.
Denki gently grabs her chin, forcing her to look him in the eyes. His expression hardens slightly again, as he spoke firmly.
Denki: Look, what you did was wrong. You messed up big time. But you can’t keep beating yourself up about it. It won’t help Akari or you.
Kyoka: But what do I even do, what am I supposed to say to him?
Denki lets out a sigh, his hand still holding her chin. His fingers gently stroke her cheek, a small act of comfort.
Denki: You won’t know unless you try. He’s scared, sure, but he’s a smart kid. If you come to him, and talk it over with him, I’m sure he’d listen.
Kyoka: Your optimism is painful.
Denki lets out another hearty chuckle, a wide grin on his face. He reaches out and lightly flicks her nose, a playful gesture.
Denki: It’s what you love about me, baby.
Kyoka snorts in annoyance and bats his hand away, giving him a half-hearted glare.
Kyoka: Shut up, Pikachu.
Kyoka peaked her head into Akari’s room to see his sleeping form snuggled under the covers. She sits down on the bed to comfort him as he squeezes his purple bunny.
Akari’s breaths come out slow and deep, his small body completely still under the covers. The purple rabbit plush toy is tucked close to his chest, its soft fur rubbing against his face. He looks so innocent, so fragile, so vulnerable…
Kyoka hushed: I’m sorry…

(Narrator)
It was morning, the second day in Johto, and Mineta was gonna be in a world of hurt. Trust me on this one.
Mineta and Giselle took the wild Miltank to a forest before they left to meet the Gym Leader Mineta can swap with. 2 hours have passed and they arrived at Blackthorn City and headed to the gym "So about this Gym Leader, what are they like?" Mineta asked, but suddenly he saw Clair enter the gym, "Not her again!" he said.
Giselle groaned as she said, "She's like the biggest sore loser for a Gym Leader of Blackthorn City, and believe me, her and Whitney are the most hated Gym Leaders in Johto."
"She's the Gym Leader?!" Mineta thought, he was shocked and scared from remembering what happened yesterday.
"You see, Whitney was hated mainly because her Miltank was the toughest Pokemon to beat, her Miltank can heal, stun her opponents and uses a rock type move that deals a lot of damage, Whitney is known make players rage quit, they even hated Miltanks after the fight." Giselle explained, Mineta realized why a Miltank, though he heard far more tougher challenges in video games "As for Clair, people thought Iris was bad? Clair has anger issues, she gets SO furious when she loses. She wouldn't give a player a Gym Badge for beating her fair and square. Man, she ticked off a lot of people, especially NPCs, and that's saying something." Giselle concluded.
Mineta was a little scared, since he'll be dealing with another character with a rage problem, so he went into the Gym after Giselle wished him good luck, but before he talks to Clair, he had to wait until she finishes with her battles against trainers.
(Narrator)
While Clair faced many trainers, Mineta can see that her being a poor sport wasn't an insult, she refuses to give ANYONE her Gym Badge after beating her until they complete her challenge, she was clearly despised by trainers.
"I busted my butt off training my team just to earn that badge!"
"I won that battle fair and square and you know it!"
"Yeah, you're a REAL blessed Gym Leader!"
"You know what? Keep your badge, I'll just use a cheat code!"
"I hope YOU vanish, jerk!"
"I. Hate. Sore. LOSERS!"
"Some Dragon Master YOU are!"
(Narrator)
A bad loser, and stubborn. Other trainers decided to leave and wouldn't bother coming back, Clair was more furious about what the upset trainers said to her. Mineta figured if she swapped with him, he'd be doing her and everyone else a favor. Though you'll see how that will turn out.
As the last trainer was leaving, he noticed Mineta "Hey, if you're here to challenge Clair, don't bother. It's a waste of time." said the angry trainer.
"No, I'm actually looking for a character to swap places with." Mineta said as he took out the Character Swap paper.
The trainer looked at the paper and was intrigued with the Character Swap program, it can be permanent, meaning they won't put up with Clair's bad sportsmanship anymore "Want to replace Clair? Well you'll be doing all of us a favor." he said before leaving.
Mineta felt conflicted about what the trainer said. Replacing someone everyone hates? No, he's just swapping roles with another character, it's different. He saw Clair leaving with an angry look and grumbling, so he hid before she saw him and possibly took her anger out on him, especially after yesterday. She went to a Poke Mart to get healing items for her Pokemon and a Moo Moo Milk for her, apparently Whitney sent her some Moo Moo Milk at times. Clair glared at a shopper with a black eye, because last time, he tricked a cashier to give him the milk to deliver it to her but drank it just to spite her.
As Clair was drinking her Moo Moo Milk, her nerves were starting to calm down, until "Hello, Clair." Mineta greeted, Clair jolted by his voice and slowly glared at him, she was still upset about him talking about her breast yesterday. Or was more upset about reminding her that she was hated. "I'm Minoru Mineta, a 16 year old hero, n-n-nice to m-meet you." Mineta stuttered due to being scared.
"What do you want, shrimp?" asked Clair, she honestly didn't want to talk to anyone.
"Look, I, um, want to apologize for shouting about how big your boobs are." Mineta said nervously, Clair growled angrily at him while gripping her Moo Moo Milk bottle, enough to make it crack a bit, for the blunt apology and NPCs chuckling at her didn't make her feel any better, "I mean I want say sorry for my insensitive comment from yesterday on the train! That was very rude of me!" Mineta quickly apologizes in a more respectful manner, hoping to calm her down. Though she thinks he didn't mean it.
"Okay, whatever." Clair responded while leaving, feeling that Mineta just wants to annoy her.
"Hey wait, I just wanna talk to you!" Mineta exclaimed.
"If this is about challenging me, forget about it. I've been insulted enough today!" Clair said, still remembering the insults.
"No, it's not about that, it's about..um." Mineta didn't want to bring up the Character Swap paper. Not yet anyway.
"What?" Clair was clearly growing impatient.
Mineta was going to say something, but then "Please you have to help, my son has been missing for days!" said a worried father, he was talking to a hero that Officer Jenny was only able to get in contact with, Aizawa, Mineta groaned seeing him.
"Look, I'm sorry but there's more people going missing, I can't focus on one person." said Aizawa, he honestly didn't want to help, since this wasn't his problem.
Mineta felt bad for the father, he decided to forget about swapping roles for now, "Sir! I'll help find your son!" Mineta declared, gaining the father and Aizawa's attention.
"You will?" asked the father with hope in his eyes.
"Yes! I'm a hero, so I'll find him and bring him home safe and sound!" Mineta promised.
Aizawa was gonna say otherwise since he believes Mineta is incapable of finding a missing kid, but Officer Jenny showed up and heard everything, "That's great, we needed more help in finding people who disappeared, we'll be putting our trust in you young man." she said.
"You can count on me!" Mineta responded, the father smiled knowing that someone would find his son, and Officer Jenny figured that he might find the rest of the people who disappeared. As for Aizawa, he groaned thinking that Mineta is not taking the situation seriously, and Clair was leaving.
When they left Aizawa talked to Mineta, "Do you have any idea what you're getting yourself into? This isn't our series." he said trying to remind Mineta that this wont be a walk in the park.
"I know, but I want to help. Everyone has been disappearing before I got here, someone even vanished right next to me when I looked away. I can't just ignore what's going on when they need our help." Mineta argued, the whole trainers and civilians vanishing was getting worse even as they speak.
"Did you bother finding out what was going on?" Asked Aizawa with a deadpan toned. Mineta didn't answer because he was looking for a character to swap with, and wasn't aware how dire the situation was. Aizawa was annoyed, "I'm giving you 4 days to find that man's son, and if you can't find the boy, then you'll have to leave. Understood?" he asked as his eyes turned red.
"Yes, sir." Mineta groaned, he was getting sick of taking his crap and thought to himself "When this is over, he can be Clair's problem." When they went their separate ways, Mineta rushed to Clair, who finished her Moo Moo Milk, "Hey, Clair, wait!" he called out.
"What now!?" Asked Clair, she was getting more annoyed by the short boy.
"I just wanted to ask if.." Mineta started as he noticed her eyes narrowed at him, "...if you can help me find the man's son and the other folks who vanished." he quickly concluded.
Clair leaned towards him distrustfully and asked "Is that what you REALLY wanted to ask me?"
"Yes." Mineta lied, he was hoping that she doesn't notice he's lying.
"Why do you want MY help, wouldn't you want my cousin, Lance, to help you?" Clair asked, it's not that she doesn't care about the people that vanished, she just doesn't trust Mineta.
"Because...um, I think helping me save people will help get you in a better mood." he said as he remembered that Lance said that she was in a bad mood, and then added "And I need someone who knows this region better than I do."
Clair sighed as she figured that he's not gonna ask anyone else for help and said "Fine, I'll help." Mineta was gonna thank her but she warns "IF! You try anything funny with me, there will be consequences!" she pulls a whip out of her cape, "This will be used the first time you try to be slick, and the next two times, you're gonna regret it." and then her eyes narrowed and sneered "And if I found out you have an ulterior motive for this, you're going to pay."
"Don't you think it's a bit harsh for accusations?" Mineta chuckled nervously, until Clair growled while breaking her empty Moo Moo Milk bottle with her hand scaring Mineta for not taking her warnings seriously.
" I said you're gonna pay, GOT IT?" yelled Clair, Mineta meekly nodded, "Good, now come on." she demanded so they can begin their search.
"I hope the Character Swap is worth all this trouble." Mineta thought to himself, he's hoping that Clair won't murder him when he ask if they can swap. And given that everyone can't stand her, it's not like she would want to take another lifetime being blacklisted, right? "Don't worry, Minoru, you put up with jerks worse than her, you'll be fine." he assured himself. Unbeknownst to them, the Miltank has been following Mineta for some reason.
(Narrator)
And so begins Mineta's torment, that woman is trouble. Heck, the people they walked passed them felt sorry for him. And if you're still wondering what's going on, well, see for yourself.
In a secret lab, there were cages with Pokemon from other regions and generations trying to escape. Oddly enough, a Team Plasma Grunt and a Team Galactic Grunt were bringing in the man who disappeared in front of Mineta with a Greninja inside a cage. "Okay, we brought more." the Plasma Grunt said to someone on the phone.
"Good, send them to the next room." said the caller, both the grunts took the man and the Greninja to the next room and quickly closed the door and a few minutes later, they went back in the room and took the Greninja out and it was freaking out. Strangely enough, the man was gone!
(Narrator)
Something REALLY strange is going on, Teams from other regions working together to kidnap people in Johto and Kanto along with Pokemon from other generations? Mineta really got his work cut for him. Again. Will he be able to stop this evil plot, swap roles with Clair after surviving with her? Wait until next time.
"I think you're taking me traveling with Clair a little too dramatic." said Mineta.
Oh you'll see, don't expect the hothead to show any mercy.
They eventually arrived at UA and Makoto hugged her mom goodbye before heading to her dorm. There she slept all day long until Makoto falls out of bed as she hears a knocking at her door.
Makoto groggily pushed herself up from the floor, rubbing her head slightly as she sat back on the edge of the bed.
The knocking at her door continued, the sound growing louder and more persistent.
Curious and slightly annoyed, Makoto got up and walked over to the door, stifling a yawn as she opened it.
Makoto: Hey guys…what’s going on?
Hime: Don’t “hey guys” us, what happened!? Kemaru: Why did Mr. Aizawa say you were “on break”!?
Makoto rubbed her eyes, still disoriented from the abrupt awakening. She blinked, trying to make sense of the situation in her groggy state.
She looked at her friends - Hime and Kemaru - with a mix of confusion and exhaustion written across her face.
Makoto: Woah, woah...slow down. What are you talking about?
Hime: Aizawa said you had a panic attack after sleep walking. Kemaru: He also said you needed a break from…well everything.
Realization dawned on Makoto as she listened to her friends' words. The memories flooded back - the dreams, namely hanging Satsuki out a window.
She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, her expression weary.
Makoto: Ah, right. Yeah, it's been a rough few days. But why are you guys even here? It's, like, 3 in the morning.
Hime: You uh, missed dinner so I went ahead and brought it to you. She handed her the tray, dinner tonight is a dish made from sliced steak cutlets potatoes and cheese.
Makoto looked down at the tray of food in her hands, her stomach grumbling slightly as the aroma of the dish reached her nose.
She gave a small smile, grateful for her friend's thoughtfulness.
Makoto: Thanks, Hime. I didn't realize I was hungry until now. It’s not a big deal is it? I just saw something and panicked a little, no big deal.
Shoka meanwhile walked forward to grip his…”significant other’s” shoulders as his lackadaisical expression turned serious.
Shoka: You really don’t think having a mental breakdown and sleepwalking is a big deal?
Makoto froze, surprised by Shoka's sudden seriousness.
She turned her gaze to meet his, a small sense of defensiveness creeping into her expression.
Makoto: It was just a random dream, okay? It's not like I can control what I see in my sleep.
The lackadaisical boy knelt down in front of Makoto and looked her straight in the eyes, the expression in his eyes shifting from serious to concern. His friends also had expressions of worry on their face as they all looked at the girl in front of them.
Makoto felt a sense of unease under Shoka's intense gaze. She tried to maintain her composure, but the looks of worry on her friends’ faces made her feel a mix of guilt and defensiveness.
She tried to brush off his concern, even though a part of her knew he had a point.
Makoto: Look, I'm fine, really. It's just a silly dream. It's not worth worrying about, okay?
Hatori: Do you feel the same way about you having a seizure immediately after kero?
The mention of the seizure made Makoto wince slightly.
She sighed heavily, her walls crumbling just a little.
Makoto: Okay, fine. Maybe it was more serious than just a dream, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm okay now. Really, I am.
Sophie: Dammit stop saying that Grape girl, you’re clearly not okay!
Makoto flinched at Sophie's outburst.
Her defensive demeanor crumbled further as her friends showed genuine concern and frustration.
She hung her head, feeling a mix of shame and vulnerability at their insistence.
She let out a shaky sigh, her voice soft yet defensive.
Makoto: Okay, fine. I get it, alright? I'm not okay. But I...I can handle this. I don't need you guys babying me.
Nazareth: Evidently we do numb nuts because you don’t have an ounce of self preservation or confidence!
Makoto bristled under Nazareth's words, her defences rising again.
She clenched her fists, a mix of anger and guilt on her face.
She looked up at her friends, her voice taking on a more defiant tone.
Makoto: And what are you guys, my babysitters? I'm not a little kid, y'know.
Kita: And that’s exactly what the problem is. Because of our parents you never got the chance to be a kid and you’re always on guard. Which is likely what caused your seizure.
The words hit deeper than Makoto would have liked. She knew her friends were right, but it was difficult to admit it out loud.
She bristled, her gaze shifting away from her friends as she spoke again.
Makoto: And what's your point? You want me to act like some carefree kid now? That ship has sailed. Can't change what's happened in the past.
Shoka grabs her face, squishing her cheeks but getting her attention. Shoka: I’m not telling you to be carefree dammit! I want you to slow down and learn how to relax so you don’t burn out!
Makoto scowled slightly as Shokai grabbed her face, a mix of annoyance and guilt bubbling in her chest.
She tried to twist her face away from his grip, but her friends' words were getting through to her.
After a moment, she let out a sigh and stopped fighting his grasp.
Makoto: And how exactly do you expect me to do that, huh? Just flip a switch and suddenly forget how to be hyper-vigilant?
Hatori: Let us help you, don’t shut us out so can atone for our parents’ mistakes Frog-Shadow: Takiyo already made you that food that’s supposed to help your blood pressure. Takiyo: Je t'en prie.
Makoto's gaze softened as her friends spoke, their concern and support hitting a part of her she had kept hidden for so long.
Her shoulders sagged, the weight of her stress and trauma weighing on her.
She took a deep breath, her voice shaky yet vulnerable.
Makoto: I...fine, okay? You win. Just...don't expect me to suddenly be a bundle of sunshine, alright?
Shoka gives her a quick peck on the lips, in front of everyone to her embarrassment. Shoka: That’s all we can ask for Shortcake.
Makoto's eyes widened in surprise, her face turning a deep shade of red as Shoka kissed her in front of their friends.
She sputtered for a moment, her mind struggling to process the sudden gesture.
Makoto: You...y-you're so unfair, you know that?
Toshi: Alright break it up lovebirds, now Makoto is supposed to be on bed rest unless Aizawa says it’s okay. Doctor’s orders.
Makoto huffed, still a bit flustered.
She crossed her arms, a slight pout forming on her lips.
Makoto: Yeah, yeah, I know. No need to rub it in.
She glanced at her friends, a mix of embarrassment and gratitude in her eyes for their support.
Makoto: Alright, I guess I'll go rest or whatever. You guys get some sleep too, alright?
Shoka: Good. Now just relax, take deep breaths like he said, and think about something happy.
Makoto rolled her eyes slightly at Shoka's instructions, though she knew they were well intentioned.
She gave a small huff and moved back towards the bed, plopping herself down on the edge.
She closed her eyes, taking a few deep breaths as Shoka told her to. Trying to think of something happy...easier said than done, but she tried.
Hatori: As much as you try to deny it, I’m practically your sister so take it easy. Chihiro: Me too!
Makoto opened one eye and glanced at Hatori and Chihiro, her annoyance morphing into a slight smile at their words.
She let out a soft chuckle and shook her head.
Makoto: Yeah, yeah, fine. I'll take it easy, not like Aizawa's gonna give me a choice anyway.
Alone in her dorm, Makoto stared down at the plate of food. The silence was almost eerie compared to the buzz of her friends' presence.
She huffed, her annoyance with having to rest still lingering.
She picked up the fork and started aimlessly pushing the food around, her mind elsewhere for the moment.
Makoto gently placed a hand on her stomach, feeling the texture of her skin under her touch. She used to be so fixated on achieving the perfect physique, the "ideal" look. But now, it seemed so...unimportant, trivial even.
She let her shirt fall back down, the realization hitting her.
Makoto sighed, a sense of resignation in her voice.
Makoto: Yeah, screw it. I'll just eat and try to relax, like they said.
She took a bite of the food her friends had brought, the flavors and textures dancing across her taste buds. The meal was simple, yet comforting in its own way.
As she continued to eat, Makoto's thoughts wandered to her friends and the concern they had shown for her.
She still found it hard to fully embrace the idea of vulnerability or relying on others for support. But deep down, she knew they were just trying to help in their own way.
Makoto: Maybe I should take it easy… **
Meanwhile, Shiryu feels sick with himself looking vulnerable like that, though his Dad reassured him there was nothing wrong with resting. He was planning on walking back to the MVHA when he felt a presence.
Rosalina: Heyyyy kiddo, what’s up with-
Shiryu sighed as he recognized the familiar voice and towering presence of his adopted mother, Rosalina.
Shiryu: Ah, it's just you, Ma. What are you doing out here so late?
Rosalina: Tenya told me he got…caught up and that you went off on your own. So I thought I’d walk you there!
Shiryu rolled his eyes, slightly frustrated at the notion that his adopted parents worried so much about him.
Shiryu: Pfft, I don't need chaperoned. I'm not a little kid anymore, you know. Besides, I especially don’t need your help.
Rosalia chuckled, unfazed by his protest.
Rosalina: Oh, I know you don't need chaperoning, kiddo. But I'm your mother, it's my job to worry and fuss over you, even if you are grown up now. Besides, I missed my baby boy.
Shiryu: That’s a funny way of saying you’re sorry for accidentally choking me because you thought I was stealing your underwear.
Rosalina flinched, her usually cheerful demeanor fading slightly at the reminder.
She looked slightly sheepish as her son brought up the embarrassing incident.
Rosalina: Oh, come on, I said I was sorry for that! It was an honest mistake, okay?
Shiryu walked faster and tried to ignore her, he wasn’t interested in talking to her. Especially if she was willing to sweep everything that happened that night under the rug.
Rosalina's smile dropped as she noticed her son's distance and dismissive attitude.
Rosalina: Shiryu, wait!
She quickened her pace to keep up with him, a frown on her face.
Shiryu:…
Rosalina sighed as she caught up to her son, gently placing a hand on his shoulder.
Rosalina: Look, I know you're upset. You're just like your father-
Shiryu bats her hand away. Shiryu: What do you know about my real Father other than the petty grudge you had against him?!
Rosalina flinched at her son's sharp outburst, hurt flashing in her eyes.
She took a deep breath, trying to remain calm and composed.
Rosalina: Shiryu, I know it's difficult to understand, but...your father and I have a complicated past. It's not just a petty grudge. There's a lot of history between us that you don't know about.
Shiryu: Stop saying that I don’t understand! You hated my Dad because of him being perverse and you never wanted to stop hating him even after he changed! Then when he finally died you just couldn’t help taking it out on me!
Rosalina flinched again, the truth in her son's words hitting her even harder. Her face contorted in guilt and sadness.
She took a step back, her voice quivering slightly.
Rosalina: Shiryu, listen, it's...it's not that simple. I never hated your dad, even if I didn't agree with his...behaviors. And I never intended to take anything out on you.
Shiryu: That’s a lie and you know it!
Rosalina's eyes widened slightly as her son rubbed his neck, her own guilt and shame resurfacing.
She took a step forward, her voice almost pleading.
Rosalina: Shiryu, I...I'm sorry. I know I've made mistakes. But I've never, ever wanted to hurt you. You're my son. I love you more than anything. You have to believe me.
Shiryu: I’m not your son, I’m the son of an assassin and the man you hated even after he died! If you really cared about me you would’ve ruined the lives of the people who stole my innocence the way you ruined Dad’s!
Rosalina froze as her son's defiant words echoed in the air, the truth of his words like a sharp stab to her heart.
Tension hovered between them, the air heavy with unspoken emotions.
Rosalina: Shiryu, that's...it's not that simple. You don't understand the complexities of the past. Revenge wouldn't fix anything. It wouldn't bring back...what you lost.
Shiryu: That’s not what you said when you dragged Dad’s name through the mud the second he set foot back in this wretched place.
Rosalina tensed, her eyes narrowing as the weight of her own actions and words echoed in her ears.
Rosalina: We don't talk about that night, don't bring that up.
There was a shakiness in her voice, a mixture of regret and defensiveness.
Shiryu: Why, you suddenly feel guilty about making a scene because you and your friends wanted to dig up old memories?
Rosalina visibly flinched, the scene in question resurfacing like a painful memory in her mind.
She took a deep breath, attempting to compose herself but failing.
Rosalina: Can you blame me for being upset! Your father just...he just reappeared out of nowhere after all those years, acting as if nothing had happened.
Shiryu: Because he grew up and wanted to prove he was a better person? Because his wife, your friend Kaori thought that you all had grown out of your hatred?
Rosalina's eyes narrowed at the mention of Kaori's name, a flicker of anger coursing through her.
Rosalina: Do not mention her!
She took a moment to steady her voice, her words coming out sharp and bitter.
Rosalina: He didn't grow up, he just ran away! And he had no right to come back and expect us to just...forget everything!
Shiryu: He ran away in fear of you because you thought he tried to drug you! He grew up plenty, you were blinded by hate to see it! The same hate that made you hurt me and let me get ra-
She tried to speak, but her voice choked in her throat, the stark reality of what her son had lived through hitting her like a ton of bricks.
Rosalina: That...that's not...
For the first time, she had no words, no defense to counter her son's accusations.
Shiryu: I thought so, I’m going back to my dorms myself.
Rosalina wanted to protest, to tell her son to stay, to try to find a way to make amends for her actions.
But the guilt and shame held her back, her mind and heart in turmoil.
Rosalina: Shiryu...wait!
But her son was already walking away, his footsteps growing more distant with each passing moment.
Rosalina stood there, alone in the night, surrounded by the cold silence of her own mistakes and regrets.
Tears began to stream down her face, her body shaking as her guilt and shame consumed her.
She sunk to her knees, burying her face in her hands as she allowed herself to grieve for the pain she had inflicted on her adopted son and the damage she had done to their relationship. **
Cere taps her walking stick along the sidewalk when someone picked her up. Yuu: Hey there star shine! Still seeing the light? Cere rolls her eyes at the little inside joke between her and Yuu Hogo, the controversial son of Dabi.
Cere couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Yuu's playful greeting, though a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
Cere: Really? Still with the cheesy nicknames?
Yuu: C’mon, you used to love them! Is something bothering you, you seem less chipper than you normally are.
Cere felt a pang in her chest at Yuu’s question, his concern obvious in his tone.
Cere: Ah, it’s nothing really. Just…thinking, you know?
Yuu hummed in understanding, continuing their walk down the street. The silence between them hung awkwardly, like a weight on Cere’s shoulders.
She tried to find the right words to say, but they seemed to elude her, her thoughts jumbled.
Cere: I still don’t understand how our lives turned out so differently. You’re the son of a terrorist that tried to set the country on fire and I’m the daughter of a high school pervert that got accused of murder. And despite that only one of us has to live looking over her shoulder.
Yuu chuckled dryly at her words, the irony not lost on them.
Yuu: Yeah, fate can be one hell of a twisted bastard sometimes.
He paused, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
Cere: It’s funny that I say that…looking through the memories of my Dad’s classmates I always see them talking about always having to look over their shoulder when they’re around him. But in the end it was the other way around.
Yuu listened quietly, his expression thoughtful as he absorbed her words.
Yuu: You know, it's weird how life works like that. People think they know someone, and then suddenly the tables turn.
He paused for a moment, thinking about what to say next.
Yuu: But hey, it's not your responsibility to carry your dad's burden. You're not your parents, Cere. You're your own person, remember that.
Cere: Yeah, my own person…
Yuu wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulder, squeezing gently as if to emphasize his words.
Yuu: Exactly. Don’t let anyone try to tell you otherwise, okay? You’re strong, smarter than you give yourself credit for, and way braver than any person I know.
Cere: A girl can only be strong for so long though. scoff I’ve spent my entire life trying to be optimistic for a lucky break and these… heroes just hand it over to violent thugs like Himiko Toga.
Yuu's grip on Cere's shoulder tightened slightly at her mention of Toga, a dark look crossing his face.
Yuu: I get what you mean, trust me. I know all too well how the world isn’t fair, how people like my old man get a free pass. It sucks. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up being strong and hopeful.
Cere couldn’t help but laugh as she leaned against him. Cere: Still can’t believe you didn’t side with your Dad even after learning about the Todoroki family drama.
Yuu chuckled softly, pulling Cere a bit closer as they continued walking.
Yuu: Hey, just because he’s my old man doesn’t mean I can just overlook all the messed up crap he’s done. I’ve got my own morals and values, you know.
Cere: I guess someone has to…
Yuu shook his head, giving Cere’s shoulder another affectionate squeeze.
Yuu: You know what your problem is? You take everything too seriously. You always think you have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Cut yourself some slack once in a while, alright?
Cere: Can you blame me?
Yuu raised an eyebrow at her response, a hint of concern in his tone.
Yuu: Yeah, I can. You’re only thirteen, you’ve got your whole life ahead of you. You shouldn’t have to deal with all the crap you do.
He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts before continuing.
Yuu: You know, Kita and Shoka are lucky to have you as an adoptive sister.
Cere: Is it weird then that my sister is dating one of them then?
Yuu's mouth dropped open slightly in surprise, a mix of shock and disbelief on his face.
Yuu: Wait, what? You’re kidding, right?
Cere: Nope, by some miracle your hot blooded cousin managed to woo my sister. Surprisingly she hasn’t strangled Shoka yet and seems to like him. But she’ll never say that out loud.
Yuu let out a low whistle, shaking his head in disbelief.
Yuu: Talk about an unlikely pair. But hey, if Shoka’s happy, then I guess I should be happy for him, right?
Cere: Are you sure there’s nothing else you wanted to tell me?
Yuu raised an eyebrow at Cere's question, a small smirk playing at the corner of his lips.
Yuu: Why? You think there’s something I’m hiding?
Cere peers into Yuu’s mind to see that her adopted mother had called him ahead of time to collect her. She also discovered that they were having Caprese salad and lamb chops for dinner tonight.
Yuu felt a sudden shiver run down his spine, sensing Cere's psychic presence slipping into his mind. He quickly tried to compose himself, resisting the urge to roll his eyes in annoyance.
Yuu: Oh look at that, it’s already dinnertime. I guess we better hurry home.
Cere: You know you could’ve just told me.
Yuu chuckled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
Yuu: Yeah, I could’ve. But I figured it would be more fun to let you guess. Come on, unless you want your mom to send a search party for us.
Cere rolls her pale eyes as Yuu lifted her under her arms and pulled her over his shoulder.
Giving her a cheeky grin, Yuu began to jog, carrying Cere on his shoulder like she weighed nothing. He chuckled at her reaction, enjoying her predictable annoyance.
Cere: The best thing about being semi-blind? Food tastes sooo much better.
Yuu let out a bark of laughter at her remark, amused by her unexpected positive spin on her visual impairment.
Yuu: Who would’ve thought that being blind has its perks. Maybe I’ll try blindfolded cooking next time I’m in the kitchen.
Cere: Your funeral
Yuu chuckled again at her blunt response, unfazed by her threat. He continued to jog, the sound of their footsteps echoing in the evening air.
Yuu: You have so little faith in my cooking skills, it’s almost insulting.
As they approached Cere’s home, the aroma of Caprese salad and lamb chops wafted from the open window, making Yuu’s stomach rumble in anticipation.
Yuu: Oof, smells good. Can’t wait to dig in.
The door opens and Shoto stands in the doorway to greet his nephew and Cere. Shoto: Yuu can you leave her here? I need to have a word with her.
Yuu slowed to a halt, lowering Cere carefully to the ground. He glanced between Shoto and Cere with a curious look, sensing the seriousness in Shoto’s tone.
Yuu: Sounds important. Sure, I'll leave you two to talk.
He patted Cere on the head affectionately, his usual grin replaced by a hint of concern.
Yuu: Catch you later, star shine. Let me know if you need me.
Cere:….So what did you want to talk about?
Shoto motioned for her to come inside, closing the door behind them. As soon as they were alone, his calm demeanor gave way to a more serious expression. He gestured for her to sit down, taking a seat across from her.
Shoto: There’s something I need to discuss with you. He paused for a moment, looking as if he was carefully choosing his words.
Cere’s quirk showed her that Shoto had visited her mom recently…her biological mother who was serving time for crimes against humanity. He’d apparently visited her to ask about any strange facets of her quirk. Cere: You…went to see…her.
Shoto nods slowly, his expression a mix of regret and curiosity.
Shoto: I wanted to gather as much information as I could about the history of your quirk. I knew I couldn't ask you directly, not after...well, you know.
He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck.
Shoto: I know it was wrong...to visit her without telling you first. But I didn't want to cause you any more pain than you've already endured.
Cere: It’s…not your fault… It hurt Cere to say that, it hurts for her to lie. It very much was his fault for a lot of things that happened in her life. Her father’s kidnapping that eventually led to her dreadful birth was because of his negligence as well as the rest of class A at the time. It was his accusatory theory that drove everyone to believe her father had try to roofy the girls of his class, forcing him to leave the country. It was his wife’s history of disciplining her father that led to her being placed under their care, exposing her to the tragedy of the Todoroki’s.
Shoto seems to sense her hesitation, the guilt evident in her voice. He sighs, the weight of his past actions hanging heavily between them.
Shoto: I know it’s not. But I still feel responsible for what you’ve had to go through. You and all your siblings .
His hand clenches into a fist on his lap as he continues, his voice filled with remorseful anger.
Shoto: If I could go back and change things...prevent all of this...I would. You have to believe me, Cere.
Cere: Well I’m sure you had a lot on your mind when everything-
Shoto: It doesn’t matter. He cuts her off mid-sentence, his voice firm but not harsh. He looks directly at her, his gaze unwavering.
Shoto: I made mistakes. Plenty of them. And people I care about suffered because of those mistakes, yourself included. I can’t change the past, I know that. But moving forward, I’m going to do better.
He pauses, taking a deep breath before asking the question that brought on this conversation.
Shoto: How much do you know about your biological mother’s quirk?
Cere: sigh Radio Head gives me the ability to use electrical signals to communicate with people from a distance and also interpret the electrical signals in the brains of others to read their thoughts and feelings.
Shoto nods, his eyes narrowing in thought as he processes this information.
Shoto: There…might be more to your capabilities and I only know one person who can figure out how to teach you…
Cere: What are you… Cere’s quirk peering into Shoto’s mind to see the visage of a large gruff man with a beard of fire standing before her. Wait you mean-
Shoto nods, his eyes never leaving her face.
Shoto: Yes, I’m talking about Endeavor.
Cere:…Oh my god, you really mean it don’t you?
Shoto meets her gaze evenly, his expression serious.
Shoto: I do. Your quirk has the potential to become incredibly powerful. With the right training and control, you could have a significant impact on the world.
He leans forward slightly, his voice dropping in volume.
Shoto: And Endeavor is one of the most experienced teachers I know. Even though I’m not really happy about it.
Cere: Why, it’s not like I’m your actual daughter…
Shoto flinches at her pointed remark, something akin to hurt flashing across his face. He opens his mouth to speak, but closes it again a moment later, clearly struggling with what to say.
Finally, he swallows his pride and manages to respond, his voice firm but tinged with a hint of regret.
Shoto: That...that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you. You’re part of this family now. He pauses, taking a deep breath. Regardless of blood relation or not.
Cere gasps as a subtle black blush rises into her cheeks. He really means it too…
Shoto sees her shock and the hint of color in her cheeks, a small smile touching the corners of his mouth. He reaches forward and taps her shoulder affectionately, his voice soft.
Shoto: I mean it, Cere. You're my adopted daughter, blood or not.
Cere felt her heart pounding as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. She quickly let her hair fall down to cover her eyes but it was too late.
Shoto’s smile turned into an empathetic look as he watched her struggling to maintain her composure. He shifted his chair closer and reached out, gently brushing her hair out of her face.
Shoto: Shh, it's okay. He says soothingly, taking her small hand in his larger one. I had a feeling you would react like this.
Suddenly the door opens and Momo walks into the foyer. Momo: Shoto darling I’m home! Sorry I’m late I had to help Tenya get home after he got dazed by a scuffle.
Shoto withdrew his hand from Cere's as Momo entered, turning to face his wife.
Shoto: Welcome home, love.
He stood up from his chair, walking over to her and planting a kiss on her forehead.
Momo: Come along sweetheart, let’s eat! Cere feels her grab her hand and walk her to the dining room.
Another trend fanfics tend to give Mineta is to make him very shallow to the point of constantly body-shaming other people, most often Jirou. There are quite a few stories where Mineta hurts Jirou's feelings but directly insulting her for not having a large rack. Something Mineta in canon has never actually done. Sure in that locker scene he was cut off before he could say anything about her, but fanfics tend to make it to have him go out of his way to insult someone who isn't a big-breasted girl. I feel that while Mineta has his issues, he has never gone out of his way to actually insult someone, much less for their body.
In fact in canon, Mineta had actually apologized to Shoji for calling him a potentially insulting and demeaning name over a year ago. I really doubt Mineta would make fun or insult someone over their looks as he knows what it be like to be look down on just how someone looks.
Still fanfics, usually the ones with Jirou featuring in them has Mineta as someone who just insults her for having a smaller chest and like usually it has someone like Kaminari or Izuku to talk/threaten Mineta to stop. Mineta has his problems but he has never shown be the type to just outright bully or insult someone, he is more considerate of people's feelings than his haters think he is.
Similar to my first post about a jealous Tsuyu, I wanna read a story about the 1A girls, being jealous of Mineta giving his attention to another girl, a girl who gave him a chance and started dating. They get so jealous that they sabotage the relationship causing the girl to dump Mineta, horribly. Mineta finds out the truth why and he becomes so pissed, he makes Bakugo appear about as zen as a monk. Over a the course of a few months, not only Mineta ignores the 1A girls, Kaminari ignores Jiro, Midoriya even avoids Uraraka, Etc. This has an effect on the girls and their social standings, can Yaoyorozu, Jiro, Ashido, Hagakure, Asui, and Uraraka fix their situation or will be forever known as the 1A cat ladies?

Mina: What did you do?!
Shinso: Yeah, I brainwashed him, Pinky, but I’m not telling you what my plan is. And there’s no way you’re gonna make me!
Mina: (glares at Shinso)
(Cuts to Shinso being tied up and tossed at the fandom)
MHA Fan: (spots Shinso) Mine.
Shinso: AHH!
MHA Fandom: (starting to get riled up) MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!
Shinso: Alright, I’ll talk! I’ll talk! I had Mineta pull those perverted stunts to get him expelled and take his place! (yelps as Mina pulled him back as the fandom got on top of him)
