This is our first home. My mom thought it was time to pass the village down to me .
This is our 7th year doing a Christmas village. Every year we try to add new pieces, this year we added the Lemax Skating Rink.
Hi everyone! I’ve always loved and admired my mom’s Christmas village and wanted to start my own now that I’m an adult. She mentioned that she wanted to expand her collection and I realized her current collection is California creations, so now I can start my collection too!! I found a few pieces on eBay, but do any other CC collectors know if they’re all a standard size? Some of them that are listed seem a little smaller to what my mom has, but not sure if it’s just the specific buildings I’m looking at. Thanks for your help! Happy holidays!!
So I love setting up my village, except for dealing with the cords. I’d like to use some of those small tea lights with timers, except they’re just a hair too big to fit in the openings.
Most of my village is vintage Lefton , with a few other random houses mixed in.
I’m thinking about using my dremel to sand away in the ones with bottom holes - just enough to fit a battery tea light in.
Has anyone done similar or found lights that fit.
I really love my village once it’s set up, but dealing with the cords really takes a lot of the enjoyment out
It’s not as big as many of yours. I just don’t have the room. I’ve decided that my village is European this year because my two exchange daughters from Italy and Germany took over creative control 100% and the way all the buildings are so tight together just screams Europe to me. 😂
My favorite Christmas tradition
Good evening,
I would like to make my display more 'permanent' this year. I would like to attach my buildings to two 36in pieces of plywood. All my buildings have two holes in the bottom- has anyone used these to attach to a platform? If so, how did you do it?
30 yo male here. Bought a house, got married, and my wife is a thrifter. I did a village last year and got hooked. We got a few new pieces this year. She finds them and I put the village together! This was my masterpiece this year! Enjoy and happy holidays!
Hi guys! i was recently given a village that’s been passed down for a few years. Only problem is some pieces are so old they no longer have the original boxes and are being packaged in walmart sacks😅 any ideas on how to store the homes once the season is over?
Hey all!
Just wondering if you guys know where I can get the best bang for my buck, looking to get a village for under the tree this year, doesn’t have to be cohesive, just want some nice village pieces.
Not much, but fun to build.
Can anybody help me ID this department 56 building found in a thrift store? No box and this is the only photo I have
My mom put up a village when I was growing up and I want to start collecting one of my own. She suggested I pick a type/collection of village and stick to it.
I don’t know where to start! Which collections do you have?
It's the first time I really arrange the buildings into a proper village. I'm pretty happy how it turned out.
First time villager here, how do I hide my wires? Cut the snow blanket and hide under? I’m using books to create hills and starting with Holiday Time and Lemax.
