[Transfer Guide Update] Polling now open!

Good morning/afternoon/evening carefree, wherever you may be!

With yet [ANOTHER] international break, its time to finally poll from the suggestions from our preliminary transfer guide thread. For those who are new, this is a chance for the community to provide feedback on our transfer/rumor guide to keep it up to date with the journalists and club reporters who provide news, especially when it comes to player transfers.

As a general reminder:

  • Tier 1 is the most reliable. That does not mean they are never wrong, but you could pretty much assume that anything they post is well sourced
  • Tier 2 is mostly reliable. They may occasionally get a few details wrong, but would still get the vast majority of a story correct. That may sound harsh, but T1 needs to be considered the best of the best. T2 is still considered a good source
  • Tier 3 is unreliable. They may get wind of an early lineup or injury from time to time, but most of their postings are wrong or so broad that it can be spun as accurate. Rumors can be fun, but leave T3's in the Daily Discussion Threads
  • Tier 4 is outright banned. Usually these are Twitter in-the-knows or tabloids that assault your eyes with ads. These should not be given the time of day

Cole Palmer interview on GQ

British GQ, that source for all things football, has an interview with Cole, and a junior colleague. The focus is mainly on the quick rise to stardom (and fashion). Some interesting tidbits:

  1. Cole's manager deserves a knighthood, as he played a big role in convincing Cole to move to Chelsea, as Cole only initially wanted a loan.
  2. Cole is clearing out his trophy cabinet so that he can create space for ONLY Chelsea silverware. His mom is helping him with the clearout.
  3. Cole likes "trackies".

As always, please support the source for the interview. The article is by Oliver Franklin-Wallis.

AI-generated summary for word count:

Cole Palmer's season has been remarkable, marked by his move from Manchester City to Chelsea, where he quickly emerged as a standout. Initially struggling for game time at City, Palmer sought more playing opportunities and ultimately joined Chelsea for £40 million. At Chelsea, he proved his skill with an impressive 22 league goals and 11 assists, surpassing even some club legends.

Palmer’s style combines agility and strength, using subtle moves rather than speed to bypass defenders. His maturity on the field, evident in his decision-making and clinical finishing, has drawn praise from figures like Gary Lineker. Palmer, known for his “cold-blooded” demeanor, continued to perform well during the international season, contributing key goals and assists for England.

Off the field, Palmer’s transition to Chelsea required adapting to new roles and positions, particularly under head coach Enzo Maresca, who positioned him centrally. His rising profile attracted brand endorsements, though he selectively participated in campaigns, notably donating football gear to youth in his hometown.

Now is the time to put distance between us and the teams outside the top 4

23 Nov - Leicester (away) 1 Dec - Villa (home) 4 Dec - Soton (away) 8 Dec - Spurs (away) 15 Dec - Brentford (home) 22 Dec - Everton (away) 26 Dec - Fulham (home) 30 Dec - Ipswich (away)

We have Conference League games in between some of these which means we will likely see more rotation in the Premier League squad.
