WTF. What a crazy game. Two red cards? Bonkers. I may be bias, but seemed like some pretty poor refing.
Hi everyone! I recently moved down here to chattanooga and I finally was able to get tickets to tonight’s game! I got tickets to sit in the supporters section, section 109. I want to be able to meet people and potentially make friends with the supporters and I was wondering if you knew if there are things to do before the game and where to be?
Like what is a game day usually like and consist of? What times do things occur if there are things to do pre game. I’m very excited to see my first game and looking forward to meeting people!
Any one knows why we part ways with a player mid season? I remember that he was hipped in the beginning when we signed him. Maybe I mistaking something.
I am taking my buddy's 9 year old son to a game as a birthday gift next month against Toronto. We have never been to a game and I want it to be awesome for him. Should we sit on the grass or grab some legit seats? Any other suggestions are welcome. (Random fact: When I lived in Chatt I worked at the screen printing shop that made y'all's Chattahooligan gear.)
Carolina core was playing way better than a team at the bottom. Also so much flopping this game. Once they realize the ref was calling it, they were flopping every time we had a breakout.
Anyone else going up to the game in Philly on the 11th ( and swinging into the Women’s National Game that Saturday in New Jersey)?? Just seeing if any other hooligans would be attending and catching the national game as well.
I don’t see any ticket link on ATLUTD 2’s website. Not sure if anyone here would know the answer as the game is in Kennesaw.
Until the ‘25 USOC, that is
Is he still on the team? He didn’t play in the last couple of games.
Because of reasons, drawn games end in a shootout.
Don’t leave after the whistle!
I am visiting the city in February and am wondering if there are any bars open in the mornings for Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, etc.
Any supporters groups?
I was unable to watch due to bring at work. I emailed the club if there was a recording but haven't gotten a response.
I am going to put my personal thoughts on why MLSNP is a good thing, and fans should be more optimistic about the move. (the assumption that the November 14th announcement is about MLSNP)
I am still getting used to the whole no pro/rel system in the US. As a European, I don't get it. Because there is now pro/rel system in the US, any pro club has three options: D1, D2, and D3. Even if CFC had the money to join MLS D1, Chattanooga area does not have the population that would satisfy USSF (which is a whole different topic I do not want to talk about). D2 is not available to CFC because Red Wolves hold territorial rights (also, "territory rights" is a strange concept to me). This leaves us with the D3 option only or to go back to being semi-professional.
As all of you know, there are three D3 leagues: NISA, USL1 and MLSNP. Because of the Red Wolves, USL1 is not an option. I personally believe it would benefit both clubs to be in USL. The rivalry would have been great. It would bring more fans to each club. It is a weird thing about sports rivalries. But whatever, this is not an option. Another option is to stay in NISA. I like NISA in theory, but clearly, the management of the league is horrible. The instability is what will kill it eventually. So, MLSNP is the only option that is left for us. so here are the good things about MLSNP that I see:
From the beginning, the goal of MLS was to get independent clubs as well in MLSNP. It is a very young league. But they already have more clubs than NISA and USL1 combined. Yes, those right now are MLS D1 clubs, but more will come. I read an article stating that they want 50-60 clubs in MLSNP. With more clubs, I see that CFC will be able to save a lot more money on travel. Look at NISA and USL1. Clubs that are D3 have to travel all over the country. Even USL is struggling to keep clubs in USL1. They all want to join USLC. I know they all say that it is because it is a Division 2, but in reality, I guarantee that the travel expenses are hard on clubs. In MLSNP, that is less travel time. Another thing that it is important to remember is that D1 clubs in other countries also have smaller clubs in lower divisions. So it is not a new concept. However, in our context I am excited that now we have more options to travel with the team (Atlanta and Huntsville for example) but also other fans to come to Chattanooga. For example, Hunstville FC. Even though they are under Nashville, they are in a completely new market and have fans like CFC that support Hunstville.
Another point is that if MLSNP grows to 60 teams, I would not be surprised if they start a D-2, which CFC will be ready at that time to join.
An additional point is the recognition of the MLS brand. Yes, MLSNP is not the same. But for a regular person who is not very involved in the details of the soccer industry, MLS has a higher meaning than USL. Hopefully, we can also get MLS Academy. This will boost the recognition of CFC among parents. And since we are indirectly competing with Red Wolves, we need the proper brand recognition. We are competing with them. In a strange American way, we do not compete directly, but we do. Being in NISA is not that threatening. But in MLSNP is much more threatening. We do not have unlimited financial support like they do, so we have to find ways like brand recognition.
Yes, I understand that USL, in the short term, is a better option. However, CFC does not have that option. But I see it having a chance of getting CRW out of existence and maybe later getting into USL if there will be no future in MLS.
I hope my thoughts will give you some encouragement.
Looking for info on why they joined NISA and didn’t go to the NPSL Pro route. I love the longer season but it seems like the NPSL would have been more teams and competition.
I have been watching and supporting CFC since 2022. I am from Europe and had a hard time getting involved with the US football (soccer) system since there is no pro/rel system. It just did not feel the same. But when I found out about CFC, it made me feel at home. Great community, an independent club that, against all the odds, is not just surviving but striving! A club that shows that just because you are rich, you will not get rid of a true local team!
I literally could not miss any home games this year because CFC culture reminds me of true football! I am a shy guy, but I hope one day to start participating in the chatahooligans community! Next year, we will have a new journey, and it will bring new challenges. I am excited to support my team in the next chapter of this journey! ¡Vamos CFC!
Are there any fans out there who are selling (or know someone willing to part with) a share of CFC?? I've been looking for one to get my hubby, with no luck! He is deployed and will be away for Christmas, so I was looking for a gift that would be easy to mail. I thought a CFC share would be perfect! We are new-ish to Chattanooga, we love CFC, and are Chattahooligans!
Is anyone interested in selling their owner's shares to me? Or could you let me know who I can reach to buy them?
Hey ya’ll!
long story short, I‘m the founder and president of an amateur soccer team considering how to incorporate fan-ownership. I’d love to hear from ya’ll what that means, what decisions ya’ll get to weigh in on, what you don’t get to do but wish you could, what should be done different, etc. Thanks for any information that you can share!
