Hello,
My partner and I have visited Charlevoix in the warmer months and loved the region. We missed our visit this summer so we would like to head out there this upcoming winter and explore some x-country trails. We aren’t advanced by any means, so we are looking for beginner to moderate trails. Any recommendations? And more generally, any other winter activities to schedule in while in the region? Our visit will likely land somewhere between January and February.
TIA!
Will be staying over night in a few weeks and wondering where to get the best filet?
Hello! My husband and I have been considering moving back to Charlevoix, I lived there as a kid and the option to move back is enticing.
My husband is a Licensed Massage Therapist at an excellent spa where we live now, and has held Lead Therapist for over a year now. We are looking into the job market in this field, it seems limited from my Googling. I would imagine it could be seasonally related as well.
Anyone have any boots on the ground insight? He would clearly obtain proper licensing for the state of Michigan, that’s no problem.
Thank you for all and any info!
Looking to golf next Monday in the area. I think I narrowed it down to 3 courses but hoping osmone might have some insight. Charlevoix country club, dunmaglas country club, or a trim dells country club. Anyone have any thoughts on choosing one over the other?

Staying up in the area for a week and was wondering about two things. If I could only make it one brewery, which one would you recommend and two, are there any shops that sell live fishing bait(just minnows or similar) or do I have to go to becks bait and tackle near east Jordan?
My sister and I were talking about some of the restaurants that used to be around and we remembered Water Street Cafe. This is a total shot in the dark, but they had an AMAZING triple stacked grilled cheese on their menu. Truly, it was to die for. My sister and I want to recreate it and I was wondering if anybody happened to know the previous owners? Or anybody remember what was in that special cheese spread they put in there with the sliced cheese? TIA!!
Need someplace I can park in the car as with elderly mother who has trouble walking long distance.
I've lived in Charlevoix every summer season up until I became an adult and have been returning every other year for only a few weeks. It's been two years, but I'm about 6 days in and, frankly, I'm shocked about the apathy and irritability I have been seeing. I'm sure the heat and tourist season isn't helping.
Anyways, I wish you all well and hope that things get better.
Soooooooo does everyone still vote for Neil despite the gun hooker stuff or are we going another direction?
Hi - looking for the best proposal / engagement places around the Charlevoix/Boyne City/Petoskey area.
I will be staying on lake charlevoix over 4th of July and am looking for a great spot to propose to my girlfriend.
She loves flowers, nature, and scenic views, any help is much appreciated!
We are looking to find a nice place for dinner with great food/drinks and nice atmosphere. Any price point is fine, doesn’t necessarily have to be super fancy.
Also, looking for fun brunch with cocktails.
Anything we shouldn’t miss in the area?
Thanks!
I feel like I’ve heard the word Charlevoix in a movie or tv show but I cannot place exactly where I heard it. Could someone help me???

I’m the maid of honor for my best friend and we are planning on having the bachelorette party in Charlevoix! We are staying for a weekend (3 days)
What are some good places to visit, eat, and drink at? I would love some winery recommendation, good bars, restaurants and attractions!
Getting married at castle farms in August 2025! I have a list of commonly booked hotels for guests, but I’m wondering if locals have any ideas on what hotels/inns to stay away from? We used to stay at the weathervane when I was younger, but recently I’ve heard some bad reviews from previous wedding guests. We want transportation to be as easy as possible for our guests, we have found some great hotels in Petoskey but would love recommendations on best hotels IN charlevoix! Thank you!
Staying in charlevoix tonight, was curious what the 9:30pm alarm was
We are in Charlevoix for a wedding but want to set off some fireworks.
I see plenty of places where I can buy them but note sure where I can set them off.”.
Hello! I'm from the greater Grand Rapids area and love Charlevoix. My partner and I will be up there for the next week and we were curious where the best place would be to watch fireworks over the 4th.
Thanks in advance!
Any winter camping options in the Petoskey/Charlevoix area? Preferably on Lake MI or Lake Charlevoix, but open to anything
Just reaching out through here about any possible groups going on, during the michigan winter or spring, summer.
Let me know!
The lone "no" vote was ZBA Chair Tom Darnton, the President of the Lake Charlevoix Association. A self-styled environmentalist, he could find nothing in the ordinance prohibiting shoreline excavation.
See the full update here.https://protectlakecharlevoixshoreland.org/?page_id=473
Excavating the Shoreland Protection Strip has been ruled ILLEGAL in Hayes Township by the ZBA!
They adjourned the hearing to next Monday, Aug 29 also at 10 am at the Hayes Township Hall.

Hello fellow Michiganders.
Getting married this October in Charlevoix and was wondering if anyone had good recommendations for taxi services for guests at the wedding?
Does Uber or Lyft have a reliable presence in the city?
Thank you!
Hi someone have an airbnb or recommendation for stay one night? We are looking for local accommodations
My mom and I are trying to decide between staying in Charlevoix and Boyne City for our summer vacation. Is there a huge difference between the two towns? We see that Boyne City isn’t directly on Lake Michigan, but it is on Lake Charlevoix. Is Lake Charlevoix a warm/clear lake in July?
