Hello community! this is not a rant, I just need advice cause I am clearly missing something.
just started trying out horde mode, and, differently to the common game where I can disable them or make them appear super late and shove missiles up their a**es, they appear, sometimes as a bundle of three, in horde mode at like, wave 2-4.
and that makes absolutely no sense to me. I can't kill them with just three heavies, the damage is not enough, andf using the wall glitch (they can't traverse a broken well) feels like shit.
so, question: what the fuck am I missing? there has to be a way to deal with them efficiently and reliably right? the missile tower didn't work, so what am I mùissing, what's the weapon I need to use, etc. cause even in normal games if they appear early I can't play.
have a good one guys, thanks for any answers. a quick google search lend nothing to me so I feel like I probably missed something obvious, cheers!
anybody had Guard towers just refuse to shoot zombies? picked the game back up after not playing for a few months. and I dropped a wall and guard tower on a bridge, thinking it was a good idea. came back several minutes later, and there was just a mob of zombies at the wall, and absolutely 0 shots fired from the tower.
the guy in the tower is grabbing his head and kinda shaking around like he's scared, maybe guard towers need friends now?
I've started a new game twice, and built 6 total guard towers, still not a single shot from any guard towers. turrets work fine though.
How to start evacuating other zone? Lets say i have a REALLY big camp in one zone and i want to start evacuating neigboring zone. How to do it?
Hi everyone!
I bought this game almost after it was available in Steam and I have a tried it a few times but decided to wait on it. I was thinking about getting into it and wanted to ask something:
Is it possible to make an impenetrable (or nearly) base? I know you can tinker with some settings to adjust it more to your gaming style.
I ask because I'd like to build a huge base and set missions for myself with squads, making them for example take over a building and extract them and so on. Kinda like a sandbox mission-squad game.
Is it possible to play like this?
Hi guys, I've been trying to play this game for quite a while but unfortunately after about 30 mins of playtime at the latest, i keep getting frequent crashes. I keep the taskmanager open all the time to monitur CPU and GPU usage and temperature, none of which ever reach critical values. Also the graphics are turned down to the very minimum.
I couldn`t pinpoint a specific action causing the crashes, it just seems rather random to me, though i feel like it happens more frequent while the game is paused (which might be subjective for i have the game on pause pretty often to build or give combatorders).
I`m running:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz
32 GB Ram
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 TI
Windows 10 64 Bit
I`d very much like to send the crashreports to you, but I`m not sure how to best do so.
If you`d just let me know i got quite a few of those for you to investigate. Great game though, loving what you created there and your close work with the community. Cheers and keep up the good work.
Are you and a buddy controlling the same units? Are you different cerc groups entirely? Split income/pooled money?
Tried looking through the YouTube channel to find some details, but haven’t found the answer quite yet so figured I’d ask here.
Just curious as to how co op will function in the pandemic mode. No matter how it comes out I’m extremely excited for it, and I know a couple buddies that have watched me play this game perked right up when I mentioned the roadmap has a co op mode in it. Just excited to fight the hordes with a friend, it’s lonely in the streets of calypso after day 5.
I am posting this to reddit as the automod on the discord has flagged it despite there being no content that should be flagged by it, so I am posting it here instead, and then posting the link to the discord
Instead of gasmasks being a high level doctrine unlock I propose that a MOPP system is added to the game, although I think that the doctrine unlock should allow for even longer durations spent in the infected zone.
I believe that there should be a draggable area / zone selection for the level of MOPP required for operations in a specific zone, and that units will automatically path their ways to a new building to equip that level of MOPP gear before entering it (where each level of MOPP gear costs money for one purchase, but does not cost anything for uses after that)
Units MOPP levels should also be able to be bought when you first spawn them, along with the ability to change MOPP gear while on the carrier.
I believe the following should be the MOPP levels:
MOPP Level Ready: Standard starting MOPP level (Gasmask Carried, modified by wearing body armor)
MOPP Level Mask Only: Activates when units encounter a CBRN threat while at MOPP ready phase, takes 5 seconds to apply (unit unable to shoot during this), protection lasts for 1:30 seconds from infected gas, and 20% Protection from CS gas
MOPP Level 3: Equipment worn is Gas mask, Overgarment, Over boots, Body Armor and helmet, Undergarment, Unit movement is slowed 20% and unit range is reduced 10% but provides 2:30 protection from infected gas, and 80% protection from CS gas
MOPP Level 4: Equipment worn is Chem hood, Overgarment, Over boots, Gloves, Body armor and helmet, Undergarment, Unit movement is slowed 40% and unit range is reduced 20% but provides 4:00 of protection from infected gas, and complete protection from CS gas/Chemical call in
I provided the numbers as a rough estimate of what to do to balance the extra protection
I did not include MOPP 0-2 as they have equipment at ready access instead of wearing it

Anyone know which update was the one that removed them? I'm just going to try using steamDB to revert to when they were there but I need to find the most up to date one with them.
Luv muh tight pantsed soldier waifus, enough to not care about any other updates or fixes.
Would appreciate any help, again, just tying to narrow it down and shorten the time I spend on this.
Simpel question really. Checked the road map out and everything looked completed and it doesnt show whats being worked on.
Since the devs don't have an open steam discussion page I came here. First the story of my first 2 tries.
Pretty new to the game, won 1 game on easy and 2 on directors cut.
Tried changing the map to calypso and holy hell. I though this island was wayyyyy bigger, but I'll manage.
Started building up in the central area fully expecting to get rushed by patient 0, as soon as the main building is down queued 2 engineers and send the one available around the map to capture all ressource points (came out to 2000 something income)
Shortly before the first day ended I had 6 guard towers and around 50/50 engineers and normal footsoldiers. Suddenly a zombie structures starts spawning/errected right on top of me in the central area, couldn't shoot it down quicker then it got build, after a while patient zero teleported/crawled out of this structure and laid waste to this area, split my troops into 2 one heading east one west. Plan was to grab the troops that wont get chased with my heli and fly off. East gets chased, move my helicopter from North east to south west to get the group, patient 0 jumps my heli and downs it.
Even though the western group is closer patient zero starts bee lining for the eastern group now, mainbase is now swarmed with zombies (guardsmen slept at their post I assume) and get demolished.
Eastern group gets split into 2 groups again north and south, Nort gets chased, bring south to safety while kiting with north. Start throwing down a barrack and guard posts in the south, north group gets overrun and dies. Even though I'm completely out of view of patient zero at this point she shows up almost instantly after the northern group gets demolished and starts attacking the south group. After a few more cat and mouse games I ended the game since I don't know how to proceed.
Try 2, start building resource buildings, patient zero starts north west, I start building up southeast, even though no zombie structure spawned she completely ignored the areas next to her and ran to my base again. Due to my defenses and getting 2 rockets this time I was able to take her out of the fight temporarly but as soon as the cocoon phase ended she kept hitting my walls again and just wouldn't leave so I ended this save as well.
Currently at a loss on what I should do differently. Don't wanna change any of the settings to give me a major advantage like increased starting money but I don't know how you should build up on this map without getting overrun within 1 day since the money you can get on this island is also pretty slim imo.
So I picked this game up on the summer sale after I have been watching it for some time including YouTubers. Oddly enough the game doesn't look crisp compared to people I've watched at all even with everything set to epic. And I can't even see the capture zone circles for the regions. Is there a setting I'm missing?
Gimme some ideas of what sort of base I could build. I am uncreative af.
Cepheus Protocol is an open-world real-time strategy (RTS) game where a mysterious virus of alien origin is sweeping through San Francisco. It is up to the Center for Epidemic Research and Control (CERC) to track down and find Patient Zero before it is forced to enact the Cepheus Protocol. Command your squad, defend your base, and stop the Pangu Virus before it is too late - how you do this is completely up to you.

i don't want to hear that my buildings under attack
Howdy all, I'm enjoying the game so far and just getting started. I started a save this morn with high funds to test some game features and I ran into a funny problem. When I use my choppers other than the sparrow, I can't load them up.
The apache isn't meant for transport, but I thought the other two were. Is this a bug or am I missing something? I want to send mass squads into the hell zone for rapid deployment but for now I'm restricted to the 6 man transports.
Also, I may just need to play more but what do you guys prefer to use with your vehicles? I want that sweet sweet armored infantry. What's best?
Just wanted to say, real fun game! Very interested to see the development in the future. Game's got a couple bugs and rough points here and there but overall it's really quite fun.

Dunno why but really used to enjoy the logistical side of moving around vehicles and dropping formations into heavy infection zones with the big ol helis. But came back recently to give it another go and can't see anywhere to construct said helis and heavy vehicles?
I get attacked by these flying critters with a purple ouline, bats I think. They seem to persist for some time. What is a good defense? I have Avenger Air Defense systems but I don't recall them doing anyhthing when the bats attacked my check point base on the bridge.
Saw a video of the game and looks awesome, so I bought it and started to play. It seems to have a steep learning curve and I can definitely get more efficient on construction and unit management for sure.
I finally established a small defended base and was making incursions with my force to attack the hives. All of a sudden a huge tentacleworm erupts into the middle of my base. Yup I definitely need to get better, but look forward to the challenge.
Can't imagine having to micromanage multiple sites across the map. Also the tutorial is not helpful since the game is running in the background as I am readig the pop ups. Is there a pause key?
I heard that different factions were being added, something along those lines, and was wondering if we'd ever be able to play as the zombies, starting with zero, and climbing up to become a true crisis, possibly overrunning everything with the big guys. It's probably an idea that was already suggested by someone, but I think it'd be pretty damn cool.
Though I will admit, it'd probably be difficult to pull off. Could be the 'nightmare' difficulty faction where you're living off scraps. I completely understand any and all reasons why this can't happen, or if it's already been proposed, but rejected.
I'm a very new guy, so I don't know everything, this could've been something in the making, I just wouldn't know.
I also don't want to sound like a picky person saying "Oh but why would this idea be bad? It'd be SO much better for your game!" because while yes, suggestions can help, no one's really that entitled to dictate what an entire game will become just because they think it'd be cool.
