Hi r/Bend crowd.

First time poster, long time lurker here. I don't know if this violates the community rules but I want to share a new community resource I've been working on: [BendOregonJobs.com](https://BendOregonJobs.com).

This is a job board, but unique in a couple of ways:

* It focuses exclusively on Bend and Central Oregon. 
* It encourages direct communication between employers and candidates. (No registration required and you don't need an account to apply for a job; we just send you directly to the employer's application email / URL.
* 100% free for job seekers--now and forever
* 100% free for employers (although this might change in the future if managing the site becomes more work than I can sustain in my free time.) 
* I'm hoping to add some valuable, regionally-specific job search resources for anyone looking for work.

If you're looking for a job, please check out the site.

Basically, BB's policy of forcing you to rent a modem from them for higher speed plans is illegal, and they're aware of this- multiple FCC complaints have been filed against them for this (including by myself). Rather than actually change their practices to comply with the law, they instead permit individual people who call in to complain to use their own equipment "unofficially", while continuing to charge everyone else extra.

If you talk to a sales rep they will tell you there is no way to use your own equipment on higher-speed plans, the only way to get them to allow you to is to threaten FCC reports.

Just wanted to make sure everyone is reminded what sort of company they're dealing with.
