Custom LEGO NSFW Catwoman minifigure 😭💀
Fully hand painted by me for a client.
If you want one… hmu 😂 no shame I guess huh
Also this cover is very shiny and I’m not sure it really needs to be
Extraordinary individuals also need rest at home :)
I stopped reading after Ram V. left, and I only pick up a few of the specials that have some bat/cat in them. Is anyone still actively reading? Has her writing improved at all? Where are we at?
It’s that time again, different cat time, same cat channel. Honestly I’m just late this time. My terrible sleep schedule bites back…anyway! Catwoman issue 64! The post title was obvious though “In space no one can hear you steal” is good too…just as good. We’re closing in on the climax, three issues to go if this is going the full nine parts. Anyway, time for some thoughts. Marked as spoilers because there’s probably spoilers here.
I liked the issue for the most part as it felt the most complete but there’s good and bad to go over….The villains group together, think that was in the preview and it does make sense…but I think the rushed writing for the villains save maybe Flamingo is hurting the book. Santa Espada needed room to be fleshed out, to actually be shown as a threat…now I knew she wouldn’t actually be held in jail…that at least her first appearance issue made clear, she’s to connected but…she still feels so paper thin. Two issues for her would have helped a ton. But that’s my common refrain…this should be at least two issues. Suicide squad story? Two issues…anyway, they do a bit to make Nemo seem impressive and the villains are different enough to make an interesting team.
For Catwoman…I think the first half, maybe more of this issue was pretty great in terms of Selina and her inner thoughts. The “heist” planning while not shown was explained better than in previous issues. Pretty much everything in the set up I enjoyed. But…I feel like I missed an issue. I need to go back to the previous issue but I feel like Catwoman knows too much. Maybe I did miss something but when did she learn that Viceroy is building her league of revenge or where her main information source is? Oh great set up by the villains too. I feel like there should have been an issue dedicated to a heist that gets interrupted by the revenge squad…or just something that fills in the gap to show why Selina knows what she knows.
We get new villains or mercenaries. Look it’s the non-powered wrecking crew. They have fun designs and I do like Rosie. Unlike Espada I think we get enough from the quick sketch to know who they are.
The heist/mission itself was…fine I guess, though the flow of events doesn’t really line up perfectly after take off. I need to re-read it to see if it lines up better. That said the caption work for Selina, the dialogue for me remained mostly strong and space itself felt as hostile as it should be while still being beautiful. I still feel like I missed an issue though.
The big climatic fight was messy. I feel like a re-read or two might help it make more sense but it just felt a bit rushed. Some weird decisions. Definitely the weakest part of the issue. The end feels obvious but the art helped sell it.
Does anyone know if this is 4 issues or fewer left for the nine deadly heists story? I’m not clear on that.
I may edit this later after I’ve had a think on it but I mostly liked the issue.
Oh! Can’t end yet…the art is beautiful. Carmine Di Giandomenico kills it. The suit even with the short gloves looks great. The designs are solid and the opening felt dynamic enough. Veronica Gandinis colors are punchy and vibrant. Just really strong issue from the art side of it.
Anyway! I’m sure there’s more I can write but if I think of anything I’ll edit it in later.
I was told I should share this here-I met Nathan at Galaxycon Raleigh and am honored to be the figure model for this cover, my first time ever!
I remember it had some fan made drawings of Catwoman, a story that I remember too well that involved Catwoman and Batman being abducted by aliens and banging through holes in their suits while imprisoned together in the spaceship (lol), and a fan page all about the history of Selina Kyle.
There were other stories, that sadly, I have forgotten. But just wondering, does anyone else even remember such a site?
This post is not meant to be totally serious. I just follow the trend on asking this question about every character from certain subreddit. Feel free to answer this question like you want.
^(I mean like if Selina Kyle replaces Felicia Hardy in Marvel's New York who would be her allies and enemies?)
