/r/cassetteunderground
A subreddit dedicated to showcasing underground music artists and cassette tapes that don't have much information tied to them.
Find a home for your recording. Post your Soundcloud and/or Bandcamp here and there's a chance a tape label will hear it. Good Luck!

I was wanting to get into using effects processors or dynamic effects.
I was wondering where I can find budget or vintage processors for cheap or for not that much but also having great to at least half decent quality.
I was also wondering what r some good budget monitors.
But more importantly what’s the best ways or places in person or online shopping to find things cheap or vintage or on a budget
Hello, everyone. It has come to my attention that one of our staff member’s accounts has been compromised, and our team was able to remove it from moderation.
No further action is required at this time, but I can assure everyone that this subreddit will remain fully operational. Security has been increased as a precautionary measure.
And moving forward, effective on January 24th 2025, all posts will now require a post flair, in an effort to help solidify the true values of this subreddit; to promote up and coming artists, as well as to shed light on obscure tapes, and (what we’ve recently seen), impressive collections.
Thank you for your continued trust.

After a year-long hiatus, Zak Vortex is back, and this time, he’s pouring his heart into a deeply personal journey. Mistake & Heartbreaks is a raw, emotional exploration of love, loss, and reflection — told through dreamy layers of synthesisers, soaring guitars, and cinematic soundscapes.
where is a good place to find and be a part of ACTUAL cassette culture, remnants from mid 1970s, when people would make recordings only to be shared on a few cassettes, which you could only get by making some of your own and trading via mail? Is this hidden in plain sight or do I need to know a secret handshake? The idea is exciting to me but I don't know where to start. I'll be much obliged... thank you
I did that method with printing and using acetone and pressure to print what you see on the cassette. I am a drummer who usually relies on the creative collaborative force of a group to get anything done. So, to write and play live all by myself has been uncomfortable, at first, to very liberating. I dig beat tapes and rhythmic concept albums, so hopefully I got a bit of both in this. Cassettes are here
I posted this on r/cassetteculture a while ago, but didn’t think to put it here. On that note, and maybe I’ll make a separate post asking this; where is a good place to find and be a part of ACTUAL cassette culture, remnants from mid 1970s, when cats would make recordings only to be shared on a few cassettes, which you could only get by making some of your own and trading via mail? Is this hidden in plain sight or do I need to know a secret handshake? The idea is exciting to me but I don’t know where to start. I’ll be much obliged… thank you

Shaun Robert (factor X) started recording and making music since the age of 8 using tape machines by utilising the pause button, crash editing sounds together.
Odal (Peter Zincken) is a noise/industrial artist from Amsterdam, who has been recording since the mid-1980s.This is a re-release of their collaboration from 1991, originally released on the Chainsaw Cassettes label.
In keeping with the original Chainsaw ethos, the cassette is home dubbed on re-purposed 60 minute TDK-D tape. Limited to 25 copies only.
