Cardano is a decentralized public blockchain and cryptocurrency project that is fully open-source. Cardano is developing a smart contract platform which seeks to deliver more advanced features than any protocol previously developed. It is the first blockchain platform to evolve out of a scientific philosophy and a research-first driven approach. The development team consists of a large global collective of expert engineers and researchers.
Welcome to Cardano!
Cardano is a highly secure blockchain written in Haskell. It allows formal verification of code, and easy extensibility through a layered architecture. Cardano's technology is built from peer-reviewed research at some of the world's foremost universities.
After more than two years of planning and development, we're delighted to announce that the Cardano blockchain was publicly launched on the 29th September 2017. Cardano's Ada token was then made available for trading on the 1st October at Bittrex exchange.
On this subreddit you can learn more about the project, understand its great potential and engage in the worldwide Cardano community!

If Cardano’s blockchain is adopted for voting whether at the state level or at the national level; would voters be required to hold Cardano to place their vote?
This might be a really dumb question, sorry in advance.
Cardano.org could be somewhat improved. When someone tries to assess the quality of a crypto project the first thing they do is to go explore the project's website. Come participate to the Github discussions about Cardano's homepage here : https://github.com/cardano-foundation/cardano-org/discussions
If no one voices concerns about the current state of the website or if no one submits ideas, actual proposals and pull requests then there is a good chance nothing will change.
So first I tried registering in the mobile but was told it doesn't work.
I then downloaded the extension on browser and applied step by step. Twice and both times it tells me the wallet doesn't exist within Catalyst. I have way more than 25 Ada. They obviously took the fee to register but can't even vote?
Going to be honest the voting thing is just a pain and why I haven't voted since the early rounds. Now I can't even vote. It's just bad.
I have some ADA in the ADAvault on yoroi. I can’t figure out how to get it out of the vault. When I go to the swap tab, I don’t have an option to select the vault... And when I go to wallet> send, I don’t have an option there to select the vault either. How do I get my Cardano out of the ADAvault?
Ok. We all know BTC is king breaking record highs all the time. We also know that BTC money supposedly trickle downs to alt coins. Again, supposedly.
I read that ADA is integrating (or has integrated) with BTC layer 2 and that would allow a massive flow of liquidity to the ADA system.
1 - I have not found any links (sites) where Defi products are readily available taking advantage of that integration. Was that just news ?
I really wanted to see what's out there in terms of products such as lending in which you borrow funds by pledging ADA.
Does anybody have an idea ?
Thanks
Hello comrades,
I'm looking to toss some spare change into a handful of ADA tokens. I don't feel like doing much research into this tremendous list of tokens I see on taptools.io
I seek your degenerate financial advice. I will not sue you. Again, just want to invest some spare change and support decent serious projects. I wouldn't turn down a promising meme coin or two.
Thank you.
Hey guys,
when i managed my staking rewards i was asked to choose how i would like to participate on governance. What are the benefits for me, delegating to a DRep?
(i couldnt find an appropiate answer via the searchbar)
Hi everyone,
First off, I want to say how thrilled I am to have joined this amazing community. The initiatives, open communication, and daily knowledge-sharing here are incredibly inspiring. I also really appreciate the focus on constructive discussions without talking about price or indulging in “I told you so” comments.
I’m blown away by the progress and potential of this space, and I’m excited to be a part of it moving forward.
I purchased ADA through Coinbase and am now exploring wallets, preferably mobile. I also recently learned about the importance of staking. My question is: can you stake ADA directly through mobile wallets? If so, which wallet would you recommend?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!
✅ Step 1. The organization defines the project it needs to develop organically: attract users who will use the project and become involved as contributors.
✅ Step 2. The organization creates a Treasury in Andamio platform, to which it assigns a budget and a list of tasks. Clarification 1**:** the allocated funds will be under the domain of the organization that owns them.
✅ Step 3. Contributors begin to make commitments to the project tasks, and once they meet predefined criteria, rewards are released, verifiable credentials are issued, and their reputation as a contributor has moved one step further. Clarification 2: No rat race competing to complete a task. Once a contributor chooses a task, it is assigned along with the corresponding compensation to the contributor who chooses it, until the type limit for its implementation is met.
✅ Step 4: the contributor requires the acquisition of a skill that he has not yet developed? Back to school! Andamio platform's learning platform creates the necessary learning resources to get the Contributor back into the game, with an added incentive: he will have earned a verifiable credential related to his newly acquired skill, which opens up access to a whole new variety of tasks and opportunities for compensation and reputation building, all, all, in a trustless and autonomous way.

SOLVED (see comment)
Hey everyone,
I sent some ADA from Kraken > Ledger > Ledger 1 Nami address and swapped some for SNEK and WMTX. Now I can't see them in my Nami wallet, I can only see them in my Minswap portfolio.
When I try to swap/trade with SNEK and WMTX the balance shows 0, even though my portfolio says I have some.
How can I fix this?
does anyone know how the win rates are calculated or could explain the platform a bit more
i just heard about it and saw there is a bet about btc to 100k but very low amount in general
i played a little bit around and if i would put 10k ada on one side the rewards shrink immense
Just seen this, what do folks think? https://x.com/tokeopay/status/1858521806623101250

I've been holding my large pile of ADA since 2022. I initially did a comparison of the two when I bought. I projected that there will be a point where ADA would pull ahead of Ethereum as far as the "future of blockchain".
With all the interest in ADA lately and the rather lethargic development on Ethereum I'm now wondering if we have entered that crossing point with ADA's network activity Rising and Ethereum's traffic is starting to drop.
Is this an objective opinion? I know i am bias because i bought ADA and just forgot I had it (its a long-long) but I wonder if this is a turning point.
This post is to have a serious technical conversation about the main differences and similarities between polkadot and Cardano. I have followed Ehterum since 2016, and Polkadot since its inception. Admittedly I have lacked reading extensively about cardano, however I do understand the basics. To set the stage for the type of discussion im a developer currently working on a Polkadot JAM implementation in python, with heavy background In computational science. Thanks everyone, hope to have a good discussion!
Currently using ndax but seems like nobody uses it. Ada at 1.10cad right now but yet the order book bids are at 1.04-1.06 which is kinda insane. Seems like many other exchanges have very tight order books with hundreds of thousands of units
Still learning about all of this. What are the inherent risks? Right now, I'm using pools directly from adalite, and of course, complete custody.
I worry about these liquidity pools and security. I know they say it is complete custody of your assets, but I don't trust anyone.
Yield farming or adding to liquidity pool on Minswap safe? The APY is pretty high, but from all of the horror stories, it makes me hesitant.
Thx so much!
They take up ADA and selling them would cost more in gas fees than their woth. Sending them also.
Is there a burn mechanism?
