I’m new to tissue culture in the last 4 months. I have the Athena TC kit and I’m using their Roots or Shoots ingredients for the media. My sterile technique continues to improve.
I can successfully get top growth in the shoots media. I have done roughly 30 roots attempts (some directly from fresh cut nodes and some from successful Shoots growth). I get a root blob (which I believe is called a callus), but no actual roots.
I suspect I am doing something wrong, but I’m a newbie to this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I just wanna say that since I've started smoking weed, I haven't sparked up with anyone because no one I know smokes. I appreciate this subreddit for existing and all of the people online who share the same interest as me. I'm curious what everyone's favorite weed communities are. I'd love to meet new people.

Hey everyone, I’m starting a trial of transferring explants from media to rockwool to root. What I plan on doing is Ph the rockwool in a soak, and then pouring a liquid media with a matching Ph ( no agar in the media so it will stay liquid) over the rockwool with a tiny bit of IBA in the liquid, after I transfer plants to rockwool I plan to seal the container for 1-2 weeks depending on dry down time for the cubes to keep it as a sterile environment still. Then going to uncover and pot out into cocoa cubes when roots show. Has anyone done this in here, do you have any advice? Water schedule you recommend? Information on tissue culture and rockwool I’ve found is very scarce on the internet, if anyone has any articles they can point me too I would appreciate that as well!
Thanks!
Hello all, I have plenty of experience working with laminar flow making cultures and subcultures but I'm new to plant tissue cultures. Would anyone be kind enough to help me find a good starting point or documentation. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I am looking for some good baseline protocols for conducting media trials for all phases of micro propagation? Should I start with broad range test of nutrient concentration then test PGR concentration or do both at the same time? I feel like theirs so many factors to test when it comes to media that it gets overwhelming. I would love to hear how others in the community conduct their test so I can get a better grasp on conducting my own.
Hello all! I'm very new to TC and am finding everything so interesting about it all and definitely plan to try it out when I can. Pardon if it's a dumb question but I haven't really been able to find anything explicitly answering it online or on this sub.
Will the PGRs/growth hormones end up in the final product at all?
Furthermore, would any of that cause harm when smoked or ingested?
If your company is approached by 3riversbiotech you should be forewarned that they are operating illegally in the US, they are not licensed to work with cannabis producers. The owners are not licensed to work with cannabis in the country. They have asked employees to steal plants from licensed facilities to move to their facility(which is a felony). They will keep and sell your plants. Enjoy growing!

I understand these are in powder form and I need to mix it with RO/Distilled
Thanks for your help!
Hello,
Ive noted the PPMS when making IBA Rooting media are up there in the 2000s. Is anybody elses reading high like that? When transferring to rockwool cube you would need to keep increasing the PPMS as the plant grows im assuming? Is anyone using high ppms like that? If so how high are you taking them?
Hello everyone in Cannabis tissue culture Land. I was looking to get a bit of a head start. What combo of nutes have leople had success with? It's my understanding it can vary from strain to strain. Would anyone like to share a few recipes to give me a good start, im sure ill experiment with different ideas but it would be great to hear what is working for others. I'm sure I can return the favor in return.
Happy culturing!!!
The heating pad is Vivo, specific to plant growing, and is temperature-controlled. Any advice is appreciated.
Busy first real day tomorrow behind the hood. Anybody still active in here? Would love to strike up a conversation just have a few last questions. Appreciate it🙌🏽
I have 100 years of different vegetable ancestor seeds. but my seeds are almost dead. I am looking for a suitable sterilization protocol to resuscitate and propagate them with tissue culture. If there is a protocol you have tried before, can you help?
Hi, I’m thinking about providing services for the horticulture/ agriculture industry and I'm doing some research to that end. I am not marketing or selling anything or collecting any personal data. If you are looking to hire a horticultural/agricultural consultant to help set up a new Regulatory Compliant growing facility, or to upgrade an existing facility within the next year, please complete this short 3-minute anonymous survey. https://forms.gle/ugUuGvCce9VM8qZj7
Fuck you people selling courses for thousands of dollars, this shit is not rocket science do not let these people rip you off. Here’s something that works for virtually every cultivar- standard dkw, 0.5 mg/l meta toplin, maybe subculture to 0.1-2 meta toplin with 1.0 IBA but once you propagate and it’s sterile you can take that plantlet and put it into a rock wool cube. I’ll give you guys all this information for free do not waste your money on these labs. I’ve been here for a year hoping somebody would speak out against this type of behavior but I haven’t seen anything. This is why we don’t progress, nobody wants to share their information. I understand you put time into figuring it out but you should share bro your holding onto information and you’re gonna die one day you’re like the publishers of scientific papers. Quit it with the famine mentality. If anyone needs help starting in TC hmu and I’ll give you all the info I have all the trials I ran for FREE. Fuck you tc labs
Edit: I’m opening this thread to any and all questions if I know the answer I will give it to you
Purchased everything on the plant cell technologies website just looking for the right ratio for apical meristematic culture. TIA
Anyone willing to share their media recipes? Super beginner here but have poured agar in mycology so I know the process for the most part.
