I could use a good convo before bed. Life is hard, and my brain can't slow down. 31, male, married.
Hello, I am so busy with work and don’t have friends. Looking to make friends in Calgary. No drug addicts please
Hi All! Long story short, I’m a 36 F local lady looking for a genuine female friend or two!
I miss genuine female friendship. I’ve had kids, I have a partner, and I’ve been feeling like there’s an element like this missing in my life.
All my life, I haven’t felt like I fit in in any specific place – I’m like the swiss army knife of friends but seem to be missing a key element, looking to change that!
I’m a genuine, caring, enthusiastic human who’s now too old for toxic mind games – ie. Childish, Highschool type drama. Definitely down for adult tea tho lol. Drama comes with life, and I miss having a true friend to hang out with and accept each other for who we are, take a leap of faith in a new friendship: day dates, night dates, dinner dates, indoor dates, outdoor dates….. and so much more!
I want a friendship comfortable enough to talk about girl shit of all sorts! The who’s, what’s, why’s and WTF’s of life (especially after 30).
Anyway, I’ll keep this short for now; if you’re in the market for potential new besties… get at me gurl!!
Hello! I (31F) just moved here in September and was wondering if anyone here works downtown and would like to grab lunch from time to time in the +15 during the weekdays? Been really wanting to try Pineapple Hall but way too intimated to go alone. Gal pals are preferred but I don’t discriminate - if you like indie music, art and films, we’ll get along swimmingly!

It's a bit harder to get out with the weather, was wondering if anyone is interested in if there are any table tennis players out there?
There are a few public tables at YMCA I know, but also open to meeting up at the table tennis clubs as well.
Hello! I am a newcomer from Mexico (24M) I already have 1 year living in Calgary, and I feel stagnant in my career and in my life too, not to make a long story, in Mexico I was working as a social media manager for a marketing studio(I have been applying for marketing jobs and still no luck) when I arrived here I started working as a general laborer in a construction company right now in the company there is no room to grow, So for someone like me who is trying to make a new life I need a place to work where I can grow in different ways so I am looking for a better place to work, I would love to learn a trade so if you know a good construction company or any other company where I can go to apply please let me know, I would be very grateful to all of you!
(Sorry if I have spelling mistakes I am improving my English writing skills)
It was great meeting fellow childfree folks last month and thanks to those who made it successful, also to those who showed interest.
Hoping we’ll have a similar turnout this time.
To avoid any confusion, childfree is someone who does not have children by choice, and WILL NOT have kids in the future, biological or adopted.
We expect this to be respectful. No hate/aggression towards kids or parents.

I don’t even know if this is a thing, but is there such thing in Calgary where people who don’t have family get together for Christmas dinner? Or host something ?!
Anyways, cool if it’s a thing! But all good if it isn’t, thought I’d ask!! Cheers to you all!
31, male, gamer, married. I'm playing a lot of sims right now. I love bowling also. Thrifting is also very fun. I have a cat, her name is Ms kitty. And I have a big watch collection. Hope to hear from you 😀
Hey everyone,
Male, 33, single, no kids, here looking to make some new friends! I live north of Calgary (Airdrie) but am happy to meet up downtown. Life’s been a bit quiet lately, so I’m looking to connect with people who share similar interests and build some great friendships.
Here are a few things I enjoy:
• Hitting the gym (though I’ve been slacking a bit lately)
• Running and tennis
• Netflix marathons, documentaries, and stand-up comedy shows
• Trying out different international cuisines
• Tech, AI, and all things innovation
• Canadian and international politics (open to all views–no judgment here)
I moved to Calgary from Toronto and have been enjoying getting to know the city over time. Feel free to message me if you want to connect.
I also wanted to share an observation about this group. It’s tough reading so many posts from men struggling with loneliness and looking for someone to talk to. To my brothers out there, I genuinely hope you find happiness and the connections you’re searching for. You're not alone in this!
Edit: Airdrie
47 yo male. Married, kids. I live in SW Calgary, spend my time working from home and driving my kids around. I like snowboarding and mountain biking. I don't have many friends anymore. Just looking for someone to talk to.
M28 just moved to Calgary from Toronto. I’d like to make some friends here and meet on weekends and free time.
Hello everyone,
I’m going through a really tough time right now. I recently lost my spouse, and as a young widower living alone, it’s been incredibly hard. Lately, I find it difficult to stay calm when I’m by myself. I try spending time with friends, but even that can feel uncomfortable because it often reminds me of her.
I’m wondering if there are any support groups out there, or if anyone would be open to meeting or talking with me. I could really use someone to connect with during this difficult period.
Thank you for reading, and I appreciate any support or advice you can offer.
Has anyone attended the Apollo Calgary sports?
I’m looking to meet some people but haven’t gone in fear being judged because I don’t do sports well, etc.
Thoughts on anyone’s experiences with the Apollo Calgary sports groups,
good bad, etc.
Thanks.
Hi 👋
I’m going through a divorce and currently reading “Should I stay or should I go” by Lundy Bancroft. I’m at the stage in the book that encourages me to find a friend who can help hold me accountable as I find my sense of self again.
I’ve made a list of personal goals/ dreams and am essentially just looking for a friend who might have the time and space to check in every so often and ask questions regarding how those goals/ dreams are coming along.
Unfortunately I don’t currently have friendships that create the safety needed for the intended intent of this exercise.
I’m also looking to reciprocate those check ins for anyone who also is looking for an accountability buddy
Thank you.
Looking for something to do tonight and I'm not seeing much on Meetup or online! 26F trying to make some friends and get more involved with the local community
Hi there everyone, this is going to be a bit long so bear with me. I (30F) am trying to find things to do in Calgary that meet my interests and where I can meet other people with similar interests. I am looking to meet people and maybe develop some friendships. I’m also a huge homebody so I’m trying to push myself outside of my comfort zone and try new things.
I’m a pretty big nerd, I like medieval stuff, fantasy, Romantasy books, LOVE watching movies and tv of all genres and I like to play DND but I already have a group I play with regularly. I like trivia nights but I don’t really have anyone to go with. I don’t magic the gathering or warhammer or stuff like that and I’m not super into board games or video games. I don’t drink or go clubbing so that makes it even harder.
Does anyone have any suggestions about where I can look or what I can do in Calgary that fall under these interests that will let me meet people and participate regularly? I have looked extensively on meetup and has absolutely nothing that I’m interested in. I have looked into LARPing and I’m planning on giving that a try. I really can’t afford sword fighting classes or fitness classes even though I would love that.
I hope it makes sense what I’m looking for. Can anyone give me any recommendations please? I really want to make friends where I can really be myself.
I’m a woman in my mid 30s looking for friends or things to do. I actually live just south of Calgary but I work in the city. Covid and moving to a smaller town really messed with what little social life I did have previously. Does anyone swim? I’ve wanted to start lap swimming to exercise but I’m a wuss and don’t want to go alone haha. Gym, same thing. I used to enjoy casual bike riding by the river when I lived in the city but out here it’s mainly highway biking which isn’t my thing. I also love board games and puzzles! Anyone have a group that gets together for such a thing that would have room for one more? I know there are meet ups and all that but the ones I’ve seen don’t seem to have many, if any people signed up to go. Not that I need a ton of people to go but they just haven’t necessarily appealed to me for whatever reason.
I'm a married man, in my 30s. Looking for a good chat, someone that needs that friend to hell get through the day. That's what I'm looking for. Honestly, day to day things seem to get harder by the day. That's about all I got.
i think i will check out aua's show/market (on saturday, probably late-ish afternoon) and then go see lantern blade at the globe, probably getting food somewhere in between. if both or either of these sound interesting hit me up
Why is it so hard for locals to carry on a conversation with the opposite sex or even the same sex? Why does it feel like everyone is so “numb”? I work in customer service , I get to talk to roughly 100 people a day and I find it so mind blowing that not once has someone been able to carry on a conversation about anything! It’s almost odd. When I lived in Toronto I found people to be a bit more rude and obnoxious but at least they had some back and fourth, being here for three months now and having multiple people to cash out or check in has made me somewhat concerned with the socialization in this city. The majority of people are so cold and couldn’t be bothered to even have a word with you. Listen ….. I think I’m a half decent looking dude and I’m not looking to meet anyone of the opposite sex but , being a single male in Calgary or even a single woman must be so difficult and exhausting! People !!!!! Talk, converse, joke around , be a human! This can’t possibly be it … Going on Facebook groups and reddit to try and make friends is wild. If someone jokes with you or tries to make small talk let it happen and go with it.
I'm still looking for some friends. I'm male, 30s, dork, married. Looking for good convos in Calgary. Bonus points for watch people, and gamers.
Hi everyone
33F just looking for some friendly chat this Friday night.
I’m intrigued by the Film Industry, movies, art, learning about strength training, and really just trying to make some connections as I go through a divorce.
Haven’t had this much “spare time” in years so could use a friendly convo.
It’s a community nonprofit theatre called the Kinkonauts. Every Saturday from 12-2pm they have a pay what you can all levels drop in class.
I’ve been a few times before and it’s a really neat community and tons of people who go every week. I’ve met a couple of my friends there.
They’re across from the Safeway in beltline in the Blox Arts Centre.
Hi folks! Recent transplant to Calgary here.
Used to go out to karaoke often in my home city but haven’t done it in a while, and am wondering what the karaoke scene is like here in Calgary.
Any suggestions at all would be appreciated! Thanks all.
I live near Bridlewood Dry Pond and would be happy to meet there and get into some training together.
I've done quite a bit of muay thai in the past and have pads.
All you would need to bring in yourself and a pair of boxing gloves.
I'm not looking to charge for this either, just a casual meeting and training together
I would lead the warm up, cardio and pads sessions- this would go for 1-1.5 hours.
Open to M/F of all fitness types.
DM if you're interested.
THANKS !
Hi everyone. I have been in search of a part-time job for a while. But haven't had any luck yet. Need some sort of encouragement and tips when applying. If you know of any places hiring too, you can let me know. Thanks
Hey everyone,
I’m going through a divorce and through out the duration of my marriage lost contact with most of all my previous friendships from moving away or just not having much in common anymore.
Curious if there’s any recommendations for socializing? Currently going through a divorce and find myself having a hard time reconnecting with others, having a support system or extra curricular activities.
Would appreciate any insight or to chat with other adults!
Thanks.
Hey guys, planning ahead for the Las Vegas race night. It will be on Saturday 23rd at 11pm. I don't know the venue yet, just trying to see how many people are interested so we can start a group and coordinate for the last races of the season. Cheers
