Question for transfer application

On the CSU application, in the college coursework section, you can select either "Summer 1" or "Summer 2" when selecting a term, but I am confused about which one I choose since I took a summer class at my local CCC. Does anyone know the differences between these or does it not matter?

People who have completed their bachelors in ESET, what job are you at now?

Do you regret doing this major? Has it opened up the doors that you expected? Which upper division class was the hardest?

how do report i report my PAP classes on Cal State Apply?

hi guys, im an out of state applicant and am trying to report my PAP classes that I took, i know i can’t list them as AP(duh), but my school puts these classes on a 5.0 scale, so could i list them as “honors”? or do i list them as “none”? on my highschool transcript there is a key saying what level each class is on and there’s a key for honors and pap but i dont get those both options when i applying on cal state apply. should i list my PAP courses as Honors, or list them as none?

Math 1140 Calc 1 Professors??

I’m in a bit of a pickle currently, I am currently registered for my 1140 class on Tuesday and Thursday from with Erin Bullard.

However I saw there was an opening with Theodore De Santos at a more ideal time in the morning for me on those same days and was wondering if anyone has taken his class or Bullard's and liked it. Pros and cons etc? (I already checked Rate my professor but there’s nothing on Santos hence why I’m here asking.)

Only reason I was thinking of changing it is cause Tuesday class has a 10 minute window between each class I don’t want to go from sitting for 2hours to go straight to another 2 hours across campus.

World Philosophy Day

Was wondering if anyone went to world philosophy day last week that might be able to tell me what happened and the speakers that talked. I sprained my ankle and wasn't able to go and have an assignment for my philosophy class that my professor is requiring us to do but he won't accept my excuse since I don't have a doctor's note that covers that day specifically.

Giving Mood

Hello, I’m an ECE major and graduating senior. Been at CPP since 2018 so I’ve built up a collection of electrical devices and wires that have been required throughout the years.I have the required items for labs like Penai, Ali, Mitts, Pagnon, and many more. I’m not trying to sell it just give it to some freshmen who might not be able to afford it.

It’s like piles of resistors, wires for breadboard, cables for oscilloscopes, breadboards, transistors, buttons and a mess of other stuff. I doubt I’ll ever use it again and giving it to someone who might need it sounds better to me. DM me and I’ll give you everything. please if you know you don’t need it don’t ask for it. But if you know that your struggling to get parts, ask for it, I’m giving you my whole collection.

life is just expensive right now and I been through it, just trying to give back. Happy Holidays.

Music Majors: Rate this Prof

Hi! Open to anyone but Music Majors will probably be most familiar.

Professor: William / Bill Schlitt

I checked rate my prof but the classes that were rated were pretty different than the one I’m taking with him and looking for a little more info

I’m thinking of enrolling in his percussion 1unit class but there’s only two other enrollments so I’m worried it will get cancelled. Also, Is this more of a lecture daily or do we play the instruments?

If anyone has taken him, how is he? How’s his grading? Is it worth it for a 1 unit ?

Thanks!!!

Will you still be dropped for not meeting a prerequisite after enrolling using a permission code?

I got a permission code to enroll in a class after showing proof that I’ll be completing a pre-requisite during the winter at a CC. However, the CC class ends two days past add/drop. This means I won’t be able to get my final transcript in before I am pretty much locked in the CPP spring class.

I emailed the department (physics and astronomy, btw) about the late end time and they said “it wouldn’t be a problem, you won’t be dropped from a class you enrolled in using a permission number unless you drop it yourself.”

So yes I technically got the OK, but I just want to double check if anyone has had a similar experience and if I have nothing to worry about. I just don’t want to be surprised if it turns out I am not safe, am dropped over the break, and have to scramble to enroll somewhere else/add more classes to keep my full time status.

Do I have to pay for IAC?

I opted out, but the $250 won't leave my student account balance. Do I have to go through thr process of paying $250 and get it refunded to me? I don't isn't to have to pay a $7 transactional fee for literally nothing. I don't want to risk doing nothing and have my classes be dropped.

Graduate Students at Cal Poly Pomona: Participate in a Short Survey on Commuting and Mental Health

Hi everyone!

I'm conducting research as part of my MSW capstone project for CSUN, and I’m looking for graduate students in the Greater Los Angeles area to participate in a 15-minute survey. The study explores the mental health impacts of long commutes on graduate students.

Why Participate?
Your responses will help shed light on how commuting affects mental health, potentially leading to better support systems for grad students navigating the challenges of long travel times.

Who Can Participate?

  • 18 years old or older
  • Graduate students (currently enrolled in any program).
  • Living or commuting in the Greater Los Angeles area (Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County, Riverside County, and Ventura County).
  • You can commute by car, bus, train, bike, or walking (includes people who live in campus housing)

Details:

  • The survey is anonymous and takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Link to Survey:
https://csun.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_57lARNDIXVcgTjg

Your input is valuable and greatly appreciated. If you know other grad students in Greater LA who might be interested, feel free to share this post or the flyer.

Thank you so much for your time and support!

Hey Broncos!

We hope your fall semester has gone well and finals preparations are going smoothly. This is the official ASI CPP Student Government Reddit account, and we look forward to providing updates and other opportunities to engage with us. Here is the first update from our Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Action Items

  1. Committee Appointments
  • The Board of Directors (BOD) appointed senators to serve on four committees: Here's a quick explanation of each committee:
    • Sustainability: Focuses on the implementation of eco-centered projects in collaboration with the campus community.
    • Human Resources: Review and recommend updates to ASI personnel policies.
    • Basic Needs: Provides resources for/to students to ensure physical and mental health and well-being.
    • Facilities and Operations: Formulates all policies, programs, and services in regard to the operations of the buildings under ASI (i.e., BRIC and the Bronco Student Center).
  • 11 students-at-large were approved across the four committees. Students-at-large represent the general student population and provide information that helps serve the mission of each ASI committee.
  • If you're interested in serving as a Student-At-Large, email asipresident@cpp.edu, and CC asivicepresident@cpp.edu and asistudentgov@cpp.edu

Discussion Items

  1. Update on NAGPRA/CalNAGPRA Campuswide Physical Survey
  1. Proposed Changes to Council Elections
  • The BOD discussed a recommendation from the Bronco Leadership Center (BLC) of moving council elections from Spring to Fall in the hopes of streamlining transitions, aiding club registration, and addressing budget issues more effectively.
  1. Council Unity Cup
  • The BOD discussed funding for the Unity Cup, an Olympics-style event including all 12 councils and their respective clubs.
  • The Unity Cup will be hosted on February 27th outside the BRIC. This is for councils and clubs to come together and play some games and have some interdisciplinary fun!
