A place for sharing links to good-looking cabling (primarily data centers) that could be considered art (or porn) to the network junkies of Reddit.

Subreddit Rules

tl;dr: IF IT'S NOT NICE CABLING, EARN A BAN

  1. IF IT LOOKS LIKE SPAGHETTI, WE DON'T WANT TO SEE IT. (Earns a long ban)

  2. SEE RULE #1

  3. Please don't post non-cableporn stuff, or other low-effort content. NO MEMES

  4. Image posts only, text posts can be directed to /r/cableadvice.

  5. Small DIY projects belong in /r/cablemanagement or /r/homelab

  6. Images contained in this album of common re-posts, should not be posted, and will be removed.

  7. Reposts of any content posted within the last 6 months or in the top 100 posts on this sub will be removed.

  8. Conduit / tubing isn't cable porn.

  9. Images only, no video posts.

While you are welcome to post photos of setups you didn't create, if the photos are of your own work, it's worth including a quick write up of what's going on for those curious.

Smaller projects are okay as long as they're exceptionally clean and interesting, and you include some explanation. A good rule of thumb is it should have at least 20 cables. Desktop PCs, your home desk, and similar, will be removed (see rule 5).

Please note we do not accept NSFW material. This is a subreddit that people view and post to from work.

This subreddit is growing constantly, and we encourage active involvement. If you want to see something here that isn't, get in touch with iDemonix or the other mods.

A nice little rack of media servers

Thought I’d share a photo of some nice work a colleague of mine did on a recent install. Mostly Disguise media servers with various other network and video gear to go along with it.

PS2 modchip install I recently finished

Just finished this install up with with a custom PCB

I’ve been dabbling in PCB design recently, so decided to make a replacement PCB for the commonly used modbo 5 modchip.

This allows you to pass wires through from underneath, instead of wrapping them over the sides (if you decide to install the chip on top of certain points).

With this install, I was able to hide 8 wires total, all under the chip.

This is by no means necessary, more just for fun and curiosity. But I think it makes for a clean install ✌️

Just finished up this can.

This LV can is the head end for all the coax for the TV locations.

The three smurfs also allow it to serve as a midpoint between our MEC/rack where all our cat6 and speaker wire run to, the demarc, and another buried conduit that will go to the DADU ( detached auxiliary dwelling unit).
