Social climbing group?

I climb regularly at Movement in RiNo (occasionally go to one of their other locations) and I’d love to start getting to know more people to climb with. I’m thinking maybe have a group chat or something where we can let people know when we’re going?

I’m not at all concerned about skill level or anything. There’s always something we can learn from each other!

Seeking flat sheets of rock at ground level

Hey hi helloooo,

anyone know where I might find relatively flat sheets of rock, more vertical to the ground? Don’t know the exact terminology but anything that’s ground level and as wall-like as possible would be ideal. I’ve been scouting the BLM land around Saguache but haven’t found quite what I’m looking for.

Any leads or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you!

Staying in Golden, CO for a couple days. I'm used to V1/V2 bouldering indoors. How can I get into some outdoor climbs? Does it make sense to hire a guide or can you just show up?

Coming up with friends for STS9 at Red Rocks and staying tomorrow afternoon to Monday. Trying to see if I can get into something on Sunday sometime.

I used to do some TR in the gym but don't own a harness or anything other than shoes and a chalk bag. I'm used to just spending 60-90 minutes bouldering since I like 1) not being too high, 2) not being distracted with gear, and 3) being able to try lots of different things. I'm not against TR though.

I would call myself an advanced beginner.

Is there something I could get into there that would make sense near Golden? I saw Lookout Mountain Crag which is close but it's not clear to me how that works. Just show up and climb? I don't have a crash pad or anything and feel like I would spend forever just trying to figure out which climbs are where and what's the right skill level.

I see a bunch of 2-4 hour things online to hire a guide for like $250. Maybe that's worth it since I don't get this chance very often but curious to hear what y'all would say.

Thanks!

Tunnel 5 Climbs in Clear Creek

Does anybody know the names or area of the Clear Creek Tunnel 5 climbs that are basically right within the parking lot/maybe 20 yards onto the right side of the bike path?

They look easy and are bolted, but theres no trace of the names within MountainProject (that i can find)?

Thanks in advance!

Best crag for 11’s in Clear Creek?

Howdy, what are you suggestions for the best crags with 11’s? (A-D)? I’ve looked at high wire and done some with Canal Zone but looking to see what you all enjoy.

Missing Friend

Hi everyone,

I had a friend go camping/climbing out in the peak to peak highway area (maybe near camp dick area) and he was supposed to make it home last night and no one has heard from him. He would be driving a red Toyota Tacoma with a camper top license plate 608GCP. If anyone in Colorado is out climbing in that area this weekend please reach out. Thank you all, stay safe out there!

Crags near campsites

Hi climbing folks! Looking to go on a few day excursion to a nice crag that has some dispersed camping close by and I’m struggling to find a good spot. Anybody have some recommendations? Would love some pointers please!

First time outdoor bouldering

Hey all, I'm traveling to Denver this week and thought it would be a good time to finally try outdoor climbing. I typically climb up to V6/7 in the gym.

What would be good spots to climb given it looks to be pretty hot? I will have a car. I'll be free this evening, tomorrow, and then Friday and Saturday next week. If anyone wants to meet up I'd love to do that!

I saw in other posts that I can rent crash pads from DBC. Is one usually enough?

Best crag for sport and bouldering in clear creek?

I'm looking for a one stop shop crag for bouldering and sport in clear creek canyon this weekend. Any recommendations? I climb 5.10-5.12a and my buddy climbs 5.12+, but I wouldn't mind a softer crag. Thanks!

Beginner bouldering near Ouray?

I'm planning on going camping in amphitheater campgrounds and wanna boulder but most of what I see in Ouray is big wall climbing. Any parks in the area with V0-3's?

Estes park sport climbing

I'm taking a trip to Estes park soon for some sport climbing and I was wondering if theres a good guidebook for the area or should I just use mountain project? I prefer having guidebooks because I like to collect them but I can't seem to find one for the area.

Room for rent downtown Golden

Hey yallllll I got room for rent coming available in April. Right across the street fr Golden City Brewery.

Its sweet. Special place. Over a hundred years old.

I’d love a roommate that lives the same lifestyle as I: climbing, backcountry skiing, fishing, mountain biking. You name it.

Posted on FB but the clientele there is lacking.

Hit me up if you wanna chat 🤙

Outdoor climbing events to join as a solo traveler?

I'm visiting Boulder in June on a solo trip, and would like to have one of the days free to go climbing outdoors (I live in the midwest and the outdoor scene is... dry). I don't have much experience climbing outdoors so I'd only be able to boulder or toprope on prebolted routes :') - and as it's a solo trip I'm not sure how to get out there. All the meetup groups seem more focused on indoor events, and there are some guided climbing tour packages out there but I don't want to pay for a single person tour since I don't mind going with randos.

Any tips/tricks on how to find some outdoor climbing w a group? I'll have a car so I can go pretty much wherever within driving distance.

Boulder and Colorado Springs

I’m moving to Colorado for college next fall, and I wanted to know how Colorado Springs’ outdoor climbing scene weighs up to Boulder’s? It seems that it has a lot of mountain surrounding it but I haven’t really heard much about the community or quality of climbing.

Accidentally left a friend's watch in a stranger's grey Arc'teryx bag at Playing Hooky, in Clear Creek canyon, earlier this morning. Please respond if you found a mysterious watch in your bag!

My friends were visiting Colorado from Long Island and when one of them asked my to store their watch in their bag before climbing Black Gold, I accidentally stored it in another climbers bag. The watch is a Garmen Fenix.

To the girl who broke her ankle today on the approach to Catslab at Clear Creek Canyon

I hope you're okay. We obviously didn't trade information, but I've been worried since we helped carry you out. If you're on here or maybe know who I'm talking about, I can confirm your name and your friends name in a PM.

Visiting from NYC

Hello ya'll,

31 m visiting Denver from NYC until the 20th. I have all the gear needed for sport climbing, just need a partner. You just need shoes and your own harness. I have a car, willing to drive anywhere in clear creek, boulder canyon, golden, or anywhere else that's within reason. Hit me up please, I wanna climb as much as possible while I'm here :)

Recommend gyms

I’m visiting Denver from San Diego until the 5th and I want to check out some gyms with cool route setting, I’m mostly trying to boulder. Also, I flew with my service dog and I’m unaware of how friendly gyms are about that in Denver. I would appreciate any recommendations, climbing buds welcome too! 💪🏾
