I’ve been working on this test on and off. I pretty much have everything filled out besides question #4 the “Preface” has anyone had any luck finding the answer or can someone help a brother out thanks in advance.
If you failed to tell background that you withdrew from selection process how long do you have to wait to reapply ?
I have medical on Monday. Dumbass question but what should I wear business casual or regular clothes.
Just wondering if any of y’all have received this yet? I checked we are supposed to receive it in November.
Does anyone else in the hiring process get an error message when trying to sign into the online portal? Or does it still show you the process of your application with the boxes still?
Is anyone else having problems with the application status portal? I can login but nothing is showing up anymore.

I'm getting pre-interview jitters, and just want to be mentally prepared for the arrival process, and getting to my interview. Any intel would be a huge help!
Anyone starting the academy in November? I am a little confused on what to wear. The handbook says business attire, but the email prior says Class c uniform. Any insight?
I had my psych interview about 3 weeks ago. I haven’t heard anything yet. How long does it take for them to reach out to me if I passed or not? Where do I go to find out what’s my rank and choose facility of my choice? Can anyone give me their input?
Does it matter if you dont remember all your addresses? Moved around a lot as a kid..
Im pretty early on in the process right now, my PT test is in like a week. I live in SD and shooting for Donovan as my choice. In your guys opinion, what’s the chances of me actually landing the location I want?
How does it work with choosing the locations they give you and typically how many options do they hand out? Worst case scenario, I’ll make it happen with the cards that are dealt but wanted to see if I could get some insight from you guys?
Should be complete with my psych and medical soon, Psych written this week, still have to do psych interview and medical. I'm thinking maybe a month until clearance?Which academy will I be in based off of this?
Is it true there are talks of taking away LEO status for CDCR officers?
Which job or classification does one achieve and finally think “I’ve made it.” Anyone achieved a title or know someone who’s achieved a title and felt this way? What position are most staff members striving to achieve.
Hello so I passed my physical test and now about to go through background. They mentioned I need a California drivers license, however I’m a Washington resident and don’t see a reason to move unless i at least pass backgrounds. I just left California Monday and it seems I will probably have to get a virtual address, send some mail there, take the written and fly back… it seems a hassle. Anyone else in this position and what should I be doing if anything 🫠😬
Anyone have any recommendations for CDCR approved jackets and sweaters that can be purchased through Amazon.
Evening everyone, Just to preface, I am attending Nov Academy and my institution is San Quentin.
I was wondering if anyone knows where/how I would be able to connect to current employees to see if anyone has housing or a room they rent out.
I’ve seen stuff posted that some Prisons have a bulletin board with info of housing, I just want start making plans to have a spot ready for when I graduate.
If anyone knows of any decent spots within a hour of San Quentin prison I’d appreciate any info as well as all tips about what areas to avoid.
So i was wondering how is it like being a ev owner in the academy. Are there ev chargers available in academy or nearby?
I finished my esoph back in July and I was wondering if anyone would know how long it will take to receive a background investigator. I only put that I’m interested in socal prisons too.
I’ve been seeing different answers and cannot find it on the CDCR website… but do they polygraph or use the CVSA? I apologize if this question gets asked a lot, clarification would be appreciated. Thank you
So i recently got cleared from my psych but i found out through logging into my process portal, am i still suppose to expect an email that i got cleared because i haven’t received any at all. Also with that being said before the academy do they still send an email for you to pick your preference of institutions?
I just found out I’m pregnant and I’m almost done with my whole hiring process before the academy. All I have left is the interview and then academy date? Has anyone gone through this ?
I’m from Missouri and I just moved to Sacramento. I applied to Corrections in late July and did and passed my writing and physical test in August. I submitted my Espoh on Sep 8, 2024. I received a welcome letter from my backgrounds investigator on Oct 8, 2024. How long do you think it’ll take until I hear back from him and do an interview? Thanks
I did my medical on Wednesday (10/23) and I did the first part of the psych portion on the 9th. I still haven’t heard back for the psych interview yet any idea when they will email me ?
I just got a remote clinical social worker position with CCHCS within state prisons. I’m assuming correctional officers will be bringing inmates to the screen/computer so I can assess and provide therapeutic intervention. Correct me if I’m wrong. What do you think I should know about your job and working with inmates?
Where to begin. I am in the early stages of application. Just passed written exam and have pft in late November. I had a slight history of drug use. Did cocaine socially a few times, last in 2015 and weed in 2017. Have been clean since. I admitted to this in 2022 with both lacsd and chp and was dq'd with both. Now since I admitted on those previous apps obviously I should with the cdcr correct? And would admittance to this be dq? Next is criminal history. I was arrested 3 times in my early 20s (2012-2013). Twice for public intoxication and once for dui. In 2022 I was a store manager for a sporting goods store and was accused of embezzlement (giving excessive discounts to family and friends) the company losses $3000 due to these discounts. Now the charges were dropped due to the fact that I paid back the amount to cover the loss so I have no official charge on my record but of course the arrest is on record. If anyone out there has any insight and advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks to whoever reads this and responds. Thank you.
Hi, I was prescribed testosterone replacement therapy in the past but did not continue due to the side effects. Would this be something I tell my doctor when I do my medical? It was prescribed through a clinic not an actual hospital but would the doctor be able to pull the record?
