The AAAA is excited to announce our fall fundraiser, and we need your support! As a close-knit community, we’ve made incredible strides over the past few years, expanding our practice across multiple states.
Your contributions are vital in giving CAAs the freedom to choose where to practice while continuing to champion physician-led care.

The bill was passed six months ago and still not seeing any CAA jobs available. How long does it usually take after legislation is passed in a new state?

Currently 26 with no kids. Considering this profession and would like to hear from females/ moms/ moms to be in the field.
Curious to hear your experience with maternity leave, what your schedule looks like and how you make it work with kids, do you work less than full time, etc. are you happy with your career choice?
I’m currently an outpatient RN so I feel like the schedules are similar, but I don’t have early start times and dropping below full time is super easy.
I couldn’t imagine being a nurse for much longer and hoping to start school at 28-29 yo. I don’t plan on having kids till early 30’s so I think this is definitely a valid question to consider.
Thanks guys :)

I’m curious how physically demanding YOUR job is. Is it something that you could physically be doing despite physical ailments or at ~60YO?
Context: current paramedic with a hx of cancer that is hopefully forever done but it’s the gift that keeps on giving with my last scan showing my hips are jacked from avascular necrosis. I’m fortunate enough to have a cushy office gig that pays $100-110k/yr in Texas, 10 years until I get a pension and secondary retirement, etc but I really miss patient care. Going back to the truck could theoretically happen, but it would be a terrible decision for health longevity. I’m 30, have a young family, no debt other than house and car payment, bachelors degree with ~3.5+ GPA from a plan to go back to school years ago for PA/CAA but kept promoting, having kids, cancer, etc.
Not sure if the debt if AA school is worth it, especially if practicing it still destroys my body post hip replacement.

I am currently a sophomore in college with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. I am located in Michigan and I plan to be a CAA.
I’m looking for what jobs I should be applying to better prepare me for a career as a CAA. I do not have an associates degree, but I did complete a course which provided me with a PCT certification with 40 hours of clinicals. (working in the hospital as a pct)
I’m open to really any job that can provide me with some fundamental skills of being an anesthesia provider. I don’t know too much about what exactly I would be performing day to day as an anesthesia care provider, but I’m especially looking to get to know the equipment and see first hand what is expected of future me. Thank you!

I'm exploring CAA as a career path and have been keeping an eye on job openings in Washington. Is this listing realistic/possible? I thought the upper range for CAA's was 200k with overtime, averaging at 150k. Is this expected to fall as CAAs actually start getting licensed in WA?
Are there as many travel opportunities as a CAA as there is with RNs? I’m looking forwards to full-time traveling, van style, while picking up contracts then taking a month or so off to pick up another contract. I’ve noticed that there aren’t as many locums in CAA but maybe in the future once this career expands? Should I stick to travel nursing or take my chances with CAA. Because honestly I really don’t give a shit about my wage unless it gets to the point I can’t retire off of it. Tech is out of the question because that market is an absolute bloodbath not to mention the job security is ass.
Decided to post here instead of the weekly thread for more visibility.
For those who went through the CAA program as an international student:
How did your school help you with sponsorship documents?
Without a green card, did your work place support the H1B sponsorship process? (i.e. how difficult is it/was it for you to land a job without a green card?)
I believe some schools allow international applicants, but not sure what happens with regards to job search/landing a job after completing school.

Hey y'all. Not a very serious topic I guess, but do you guys feel like you have time to date in CAA school? In your program do you feel like you have the work life balance for that?
I'm doing locum tenens work and need a good CPA to help with setting up my business and tax preparations, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good CPA, preferably one familiar with the nuances of anesthesia locums?
