Hello all!
Lately ive bought eggs from Safeway and 3 bears and when i break them open, theyre cloudy and greyish and when cooked they turn fully grey. This happens literally the day we buy them.
Same goes for meats. I purchased a roast on the 27th but by the 30th it was rotten. This was the third time in 3 months.
Anyone else notice supermarket food quality going down lately?
I’m from Butte and in high school my friends and I would frequently visit the Basin Creek park aka “The Witch’s Circle’. I was wondering if anyone knew the history of why the kids in town call it that? I have also heard rumors of a cannibal or something living underneath the gazebo out there. Does anyone have any info? I’m very interested in hearing stories.
I'm new to Butte and want to get one installed on my vehicle before the cold comes. Any recommendations for a good shop? Thanks
Have some work I need to get done on my car, and I'm looking for a reliable, fairly-priced mechanic in Butte. Looking for suggestions.
Way to go !
Hello all!
Im 30F, been in Butte since 2020. I am currently looking to move on to a new job that's not case management. If anyone knows of anything that fits my experience, if you could let me know that would be awesome!
I have:
10 plus years of customer service and office management experience
4 years case management and scheduling/coordination experience
6 years healthcare office management, CNA experience (CNA is not active but i can reinstate it if needed), and psychiatric experience
8 years of (unofficial except for college courses) IT experience (building PCs, installing software and OS, networking, installing hardware, and tons of Microsoft office and OS experience)
3 years of retail experience
1 year of business management experience
1 year of hotel management experience
Edit: obviously some of this experience was simultaneous :)
Does anyone know where to get rabies vaccinations done here for less. Than 150 for 3 dogs ? Big city humane society's do it for 19.00 per dog. The vet in Whitehall is also that cheap just far to busy to do it . Need it done to get them licensed .. I which is another 75 just can't afford all of that right now with my car also needing hundreds of dollars in work done on it.. my dogs are the most loving things in my life . Can't stand the thought of losing them..
Found this little fellow on south excelsior between Waukesha and Lewisohn. He has a collar on with a bell but was too afraid to let me get within a few feet.
Just sharing in case anyone has a lost kitty.
Visiting a buddy in a couple weeks who is stationed in Butte. Excited to explore the city!
Any must visit places you can recommend and also any places to avoid would be much appreciated!

I am forming a team with the goal of producing a documentary or Docu-drama that tells the story of Coxey's Industrial Army and the first organized March on Washington that they created. It all happened in 1894 and Butte played a critical role in this epic saga.
We are in the beginning stages of developing this story and we hope to make it in to a full fledged one hour documentary for PBS and others to air. The story has tremendous relativity to current events and our fractured society.
TITLE: A Petition in Boots - Coxey’s Industrial Army of 1894
A film that captures the tumultuous times and drama of the first organized march on Washington
In 1894, amid America's worst economic collapse, a defiant businessman leads a scrappy army of jobless to march on Washington, demanding action. What begins as a fight for survival ignites a near-rebellion, forcing the nation to confront its broken system.
This historic journey explores timeless issues: the early days of union organizing, free speech, inequality, homelessness, police brutality, showcasing the power of protest in a charged showdown between the powerless and powerful.
I am looking for Buttians (or is that Buttonians??) who know about the history of Butte in the 1890's. I am in contact with the Silver Bow Historic Center and MT Historical Society. I need additional input and sources if they exist. We're also seeking partners in this endeavor - Director, Animator, A.I. Effects, Archivist, and other help. We can't pay - yet. But we are actively seeking funding. We do have a Fiscal Sponsor in place and can accept donations - DM me if interested and/or if you have any ideas about this project. I live in Helena and have been researching these events for a few years. I think it is one of the best largely un-told stories in our past.....
Lost my wallet at the bars lastnight, will pay $100 reward if found

We’re all aware of the many vacant lots in Butte many of them are small. I was curious and went to City Hall and talked to the zoning office. I asked what can be done with these lots. The answer I got is that many of them are too small and building permits won’t be issued. The lady stated if you have two lots next to each other you could then build on the combination.
It’s odd to me that we have many of these lots which are useless? Has anyone explored this or have any insight on this issue or possible solutions?
I’m very aware that we have a housing affordability problem if we could allow small homes to be built it seems like a win win solution to me. I’m assuming many of these lots once had small homes on them many of them still have the remnants sidewalks, trees, fences and even the collapsed home debris.
Moving up that way soon looking for some part time work as a second job. Any suggestions?
I'm looking to make friends, moved here recently, in my mid-20s. Into music, folk, bluegrass, and country especially.
I've gone to the Covalite a few times for the open mic nights but those seem to have stopped. Did some research and saw the silver dollar was worth checking out, but it looks permanently closed after driving by it. Anyone know what's going on there? Their Facebook still seems to post regularly and Google lists them as open oddly enough.
Anybody know of any other places that do open mics or jams or anything similar?
Otherwise, I'm pretty outdoors-y normally, really enjoy backpacking, hiking and things of that nature. Open to trying something like DnD, never played before tho. Just kinda looking for friends around my age who r willing to help me make my weekends a little less boring.
Have you noticed the kids around town? They travel unchaperoned must of the time in little groups, especially around uptown. Is this normal?
I've heard Butte is well known for its drinking culture and irish heritage. What's a good place to get a drink in town?
Are you In Butte or the surrounding areas? Do you love DND and other TTRPGS? Thursday nights up at the party palace we run several games and are always looking for new players. Its a great way to make friends of all walks of life.
