It keeps saying my associate ID is wrong and I really need to fix this issue on my own bc I don’t have work til Wednesday and I don’t feel like going into the store right now I’m sick.
So I Just Got Hired & Had Orientation Last Tuesday .. They told me I'd be on the schedule By Friday so keep A Look Out , But when I Went To Go Check I Wasn't So I Went To The Store On Friday Because No off Ever pIcks Up The Phone So The Store Manger Told Me To Check My Schedule On Saturday Anytime After 3 And Said I'll Be On There But Once Again I Did And I Still Wasn't , Should I Keep Waiting Or Did They Change They Mind on Me ? what Exactly Should I Do? 🙄
I only had one manager tell me that today was 30% off and i forgot to ask if it’s this entire week or just today? Otherwise my store is not advertising it at all.
Hi guys was just wondering what the holiday hours for Christmas Eve and new years is gonna be?
For fuck sake either give me hours or just fire me, I was suppose to work yesterday but they took me off the schedule for some reason. Like why even have me here if you're not going to give me hours. Also, I suppose to be terminated since I haven't work in a month cause they never gave me hours, but when I check ESS they still have me in. Sorry for the rant and spelling but I'm just really piss off.
oops what do i do it says “overdue for shift end”
I’m a seasonal cashier and I have something called MCAS it’s an immunological condition that causes a wide range of allergy symptoms, the biggest thing is it leaves me constantly overheated, it doesn’t matter how cold my internal body temp is always warm, its very hot in the store and so my immunologist wrote a letter explaining my condition, and what accommodations I need, which is to be able to wear shorts or skirts to help keep me cooler, and then the option to sit down for a few minutes if I have a dizzy spell. I gave the letter to the assistant manager today, who gave it to the main manager, and afterwards, she wanted to talk to me in her office. She started going on about how the dress code is for employee's safety and that HR probably wont be able to approve it, I explained that this accommodation is for my safety tho, and that I understand it isn’t on them if in the unlikely case of this happening, I was to get cut on something, etc, from not wearing pants. Then she also said me needing to sit down if I get dizzy is going to be difficult to approve, bc there’s “nowhere for me to sit” which isn’t true, bc there’s a room with computers and chairs literally right by the registers and no one is in there 90% of the day. She then went on to say that bc of me getting dizzy spells and needing to wear shorts, this might not be the position for me but she will still submit it. I’m really mad honestly, I know most people hate retail but I actually love my job. This is my first job bc I wasn’t able to work for the longest time and I’m really scared I will get fired, what should I do? Should I try and explain to her that this isn’t something that will affect the work environment and that I’m not posing any safety risks to myself or anyone else? I don’t even know why she is thinking this. It also doesn’t make sense to be concered about safety if I get dizzy but then at the same time say there’s nowhere for me to sit down. This genuinely isn’t anything that would affect them I think she is just confused about my condition and instead of asking question is making assumptions about it being bad for business. What should I do?
Update: also, I just want to clarify two things
Me needing to go sit down if I have a dizzy spell is extremely unlikely to affect the line of customers bc we are not understaffed at all, there’s been multiple times there wasn’t even a register for me to work on bc of how many people are up there, so it really wouldn’t affect the speed of anything.
I have already proven that I can do my job so there is literally no reason for anyone who’s worked with me to think these accommodations somehow mean I am not capable.
Hi, cashier here. While walking back to my register while holding a layaway bag I stepped on a hard pin (security tag that’s normally on clothes—unsure if that’s the right word)
Another associate (which I think she was a lead) pulled it out of my shoe and it was horrible and painful!
My question is, since I am PT seasonal I dont know what I’m supposed to do. Do I report this? No one mentioned that I had to. Sorry if it’s a silly question.
Hey guys I am a college student looking at different buyer progressions within different companies. I came across Burlington and seen that they were hiring for an Assistant Buyer. I also seen that as you move up you can become a Merchandise Manager at a store which seems pretty cool. But I really don’t want to be a keyholder 😭😭I don’t want to deal with customers at the register or anything like that. I just want to manage and oversee the sales floor as the job description says. I know not every Burlington has an Assistant Store Manager for Merchandising (I believe only the high volume stores have this role) but anyways is there anyone who know if this is a keyholder role?
Must have "open availability" so we can schedule you for 4 hours in 2 weeks. Anyone else getting these ghost hours?
Not as a group but like, so many individuals decided to come in and steal merchandise today...we had associates blocking emergency exits just in case and the poor MOD calling the police over and over
Just wondering lol
I don't know if this is a rant or if I'm looking for advice/ other's experiences.I plan on looking and acquiring a new job by hopefully after New Year's...Where yet, I don't know. I been debating about Walmart, I know they pay way more for supervisors than what I'm making currently or even trying for Merchandise Manager, but I don't know how much creative freedom I'll have at Walmart. I can no longer take it any longer, other supervisors and associates were surprised I didn't replace my manager when they left. I've worked so hard without wanting nor needing acknowledgement. I've gained more knowledge, even have sit downs with the store manager to learn more of the ins and outs and most of my peers come to me for professional advice. I run the store even when other supervisors are there, even when my store manager is there whom if they have to be off walky or have a conference call will always put me in charge above the other supervisors. If my store manager needs her shift changed she always ask me first because I will prioritize, delegate and get the job done I do the job of 5 people helping all departments because I have the knowledge and respect from associates. I've had to play the role of store manager on many occasions for our store manager, requested by them. I get shit pay and definitely not enough for the work that I do, just like every other supervisor, but more is expected from me. I love my crew and most that I work with and don't want to bail on them when going into the holidays but I'm worth more.
Does this mean I’m fired??? I can’t even sign in using my Microsoft account because I got a new phone number & can’t receive the codes. Idk what’s going to happen now lol
I just got the job at Burlington and I’ve only worked on day this week which I didn’t get cause I just started? But anyways, I got an offer somewhere else & they pay way more so I’m wondering to quit do I text my supervisor and inform them or go in? I don’t plan on putting two weeks in since I don’t really care for this job & don’t expect to work there any longer so I don’t mind just telling them I quit but I’m wondering if I can just contact my supervisor and do it? This is my first job if it’s not obvious lol
I have “special projects” all on my schedule next week but im a cashier so i don’t understand what that really is. Could anyone let me know. I dont know if they have to put that or im required to do other work for them
I get 2 day early pay when I’ll I get paid I didn’t get anything on thanksgiving
Does Burlington actually have any deals on Black Friday or no?
How do you get them?
I wanted to log in and try to figure out where to see my pay stub but I got this on my screen after trying to log in.
My last & final post as today solidified it being my last day. I'm beyond over it. I am being basically taken advantage of as no one else is being assigned multiple pods per shift, even the Lead only does 1 dept, and our Supervisor does maybe 2 on a good day. She'd rather ask me to do the shit...Firstly I dont get paid enough to bust my fucking ass or rush to get product out, I truly don't fucking care if it gets done or not. Secondly, being told we are not allowed to go over our supervisors head to our store manager is like illegal is it not? The BOH Supervisor is literally the reason everyone I got hired with has quit, & if we get a new person they stick around maybe a week or two before they are fed up with the Sup yelling at them. Thirdly, changing my schedule last minute & then telling me I need to basically stay up long enough at night to see if my schedule has updated has me all kinds of fucked up. I have a small child & they know this which is precisely why I only work certain hours so when you play around with my schedule every fucking day it becomes an issue. And to tell me some blatant fucking lies abt when you update the schedule also put the icing on the cake. Why the fuck am I going to be on the app constantly until the store closes at night for a potential change? IM SLEEP AFTER 9Pm! I HAVE A CHILD IN SCHOOL! IDGAF ABT THAT SCHEDULE😀 if you are saying you don't know the size of the truck until 7pm/8pm that night, that gives you time to update people's schedules before the store closes, before I go to sleep & before the morning of. also, maybe send a text and let me know you've changed my schedule rather than expecting me to be locked in on the app. I have better shit to do. but what you're not gonna do is try to reprimand me for your fault✋🏽😗 & the last and final reason was just hearing my assistant store manager and back of house supervisor talking shit about all the people that have been leaving and not coming back as if it's not their fault💀 talking shit about these people not knowing how to do their job as if you trained them when you didn't🤨 that is why we only have a team of 6 people & after today it's a team of 5 🤭I wish them luck, or maybe I won't. Fuck em🙏🏽
Hi, Does anyone know if burlington pays on Thanksgiving since it's a holiday?
I think I should quit my part time job at Burlington. I don’t think it’s normal for my supervisor to call me into work at an unreasonable time. I’m only a seasonal worker so I didn’t really expect much but no one was kidding when they said the job is horrible. It’s annoying because working in the back room isn’t really hard and time goes by quickly when I’m focused. I only worked one day, Monday, mind you and then I wasn’t scheduled to come in again until Saturday.
So, imagine how irritated I was to get a text from my supervisor at midnight to clock in, in the morning. It’s just really inconvenient on my part cause I have no way of getting there. I usually have a ride but this time I don’t since I didn’t prepare for a last minute schedule. I even tried to uber but it’s so early that no one around would pick me up. Do I have the worst luck or what?
Anyways, I’m contemplating on quitting after my first pay check mainly cause of inconvenience on my part. The job is a bit of a drive where I stay so it’s for the best. I just want to know how should I go about me quitting cause this is my first job. Do I just go up there and hand my things in and say I quit?
Working as a part time employee but working full time hours… is this allowed. I’m not receiving full time benefits so it doesn’t seem fair
I recently got hired as a seasonal receiver in the back rooms and the pay sucks really bad especially for how they barely schedule me. I have an offer for a job that’s way closer to my house & pays more so I’m definitely quitting. It’s my first job though so I don’t know how should I approach this. I feel bad for quitting so early though it hasn’t been a month since I started working.
Hey! Does anyone know if they pay extra for working on black friday? i keep seeing mixed answers.
Maybe it's just my store but there is 0 consistency. One manager says on thing another says something different. It is so annoying having different rules for different people.
I was asked to come in today to help straighten the store before a "visit". Another worker pointed out that everything on the walls has been raised to a height that some of us can't reach to put clothes on! Even shelves for toys on the wall have been added higher, and baby blankets, too. Anyone else have this happen in their store? What is the deal with that? Is it to deter theft? Customers can't reach it, how can I to help them? On another note, we already have Valentine's clothes on the floor. Now we're two holidays ahead.
