How bad is it if i use another employee’s discount for my family?
Context: my cousin came to the store and ended up at my register. I rang her up but I asked the cashier next to me for her employee discount bc I wanted to give my cousin my discount but couldn’t (because she was at my register obviously). Will I get in trouble for using another employee’s discount and not going through a manager? In my store we only call for a manger at the register for serious problems and this didn’t seem like it was that serious but now im worried I might get fired.
I've been wondering how I can move up in the company since I'm just a sales floor/cashier. The leads at my store do nothing but total work avoidance and pushthe work on someone else and it's really bad especially when I'm the only one willing to do the work. They all want to stand around at the cash register area despite the manager telling them to do otherwise.
There were 15 rails that was not done by day shift and sure as hell was not done by night shift. I had to do them all within 5 hours. These two idiot leads and decided they needed to cashiers and empty ass store where they spent the fucking night while I was working harder than anyone. I was seriously overwhelmed by the amount of work I was required to do by myself I could have gotten done within 2 hours with enough people working.
I contacted the store manager about this shit and she seems to not give a fuck or isn't telling me shit. They've been doing this for a long time and I think enough is enough I'm going to start regularly telling them every time they pull this shit. One of these leads were actually chosen over me. More than likely they have taken credit for the shit I've done.
I've been working there 6 months now. It's a time to leave?
I was terminated like a week ago on 29th but today got a benfits email from workday then i was able to login workday and my ess app
Imma guess this means im rehired??? Cuz now i got 3 days next week
Cuz if so glad i didnt throw away my badge and stuff
(Note i was seasonal before this)
is it ok for managers to request LOA for couple of weeks due to some emergency? i might have to travel internationally, do they accept it? anyone had an similar exp before? I need to be still employed while returning back to states, if not that would be a problem, am not having a supporting response from SM on my LOA. what to do?
I went to a store yesterday for the first time in a while and was really shocked with how bare the shelves were. There were barely any clothes either. I remember going into this same store a few years ago and hyping it up to being covid but obviously that's not an excuse now. It just feels like there's no stock. Is this normal?
So, my assistant store manager, acting SM has been biased against me for months, I reported him and nothing has come of it. The latest 3 things he has done is take me off the schedule for 2 days in a row and not let me know, then he scheduled me outside of my availability, totally (1500-0000 Monday-Saturday is my availability, then he cut my hours today (1/28/25) from 4 hours down to 3.5, again, without letting me know.
I am tempted to quit but I’ve been here for a year and some change and I want to know what yall think? Should I quit or report him again?
Edit: Today (1/30/25) he made it seem as though it were my fault that I’ve not been getting many hours due to my availability, but said nothing about how he disregarded my availing
Although I was told I'll be kept after being seasonal but didn't happen... Soo is it safe to apply for a permanent position and do they rehire?
Is there a way to get paid before the payday?
It’s very soon actually. I’m really nervous. I got an interview pretty quickly too, through Alison. Fastest application of my life. I’m really really nervous. Wish me luck yall 😭
Update: I think it went good! I was asked about availability and standard interview questions. I think I might’ve got it? I was told about an email that’ll come through about if I got accepted or not and he made a comment that I likely got it
I was curious and I was looking at the weekly schedule and full-time associates and full-time supervisors are getting 30 hours this week. That’s insane!! I’m a PT cashier but when I think of full-time I think 40-45 hours a week. 30 hours a week for a full-time employee is so insane to me.
Buy somethingggg :) . If you like something I don’t advise you hide it. Just buy it and obv making sure you can afford . U are free to walk around the store wherever you want. You can look at sections you don’t normally work in . That’s permitted
I found the prettiest decor from last season and i can imagine alot of customers don’t pick up things that are like super glittery or fragile
Its the lil things that mean so much :)
Hello ! So yesterday I had my schedule marked as normal Monday - Sunday with Wednesday and Thursday off like every single week , this is my full time job and is necessary to do important payments ( like needed for me to continue my education in college and bills)my manager is great my co workers and overall I really like this job I have 0 complaints ( I mean of course more salary is always something one wants but I understand that’s not possible , apart from this I have literally 0 negative things to say)
Today I open my app as regular only to find the surprise that I am not scheduled any day until February 1st that’s 4 whole days without working which is of course detrimental to my paycheck and really bad news as I had everything planned counting those days as every week , I texted my manager who is amazing I know this is 100% not a personal bad move in any way just in case the app was not working but he said the app wasn’t malfunctioning and he would look into it. I knew we had way less hours January but didn’t expected to have 4 days off suddenly if last week I had 3 off instead of 2 and that already impacted me.
I am absolutely planing on a part time job when this sort of things happen but I am very nervous about what this means to my future hours. Should I be worried?
I have been working back of house putting tags on clothes since October, that's all I do and my supervisor said she wants to keep me but for about a week now I haven't gotten any hours and my manager hasn't texted me back when I asked her about hours. I told my manager and supervisor I am willing to learn how to run racks and do other things on the floor but they just keep putting me in the back. I can usually only get 4-8 hours a week so I'm currently looking for a new job, but my question is, if they're going to terminate me, will they tell me or will they just let me go silently? This happened to me with dollar tree so I'm not sure what to do or think
The last couple days I've had a really bad respiratory infection with a fever. I've called out twice the last couple days. I'm just wondering how many sick days can I take before I get in trouble?
Hey im wondering if anyone could please explain what a Retail Stocking Team Lead role does at burlington because i just applied for that role
How late is the store you work at open? The store I work at is open till midnight at the latest and I think that’s crazy and i always thought is was just the area I work in
I was seasonal and got the email of unemployment benfits and saying im basically terminated
But on ess app i still got tue wed and Thursday to work so is it a possible mistake?
I’ve been a part time employee at my store for 2 years now and last year the entire months February of 2024 to be exact I wasn’t scheduled and now this year January of 2025 i haven’t been scheduled the entire month I have no clue why this has happened
okay so backstory i had quit burlington back in november after a month of working so im just wondering if i would get it in the mail ? bc i don’t really know where to view it online + my old burlington email is locked so im not sure if i can even access it online
My husband got an email from an actual recruiter of Burlington. W their photo and everything for a remote job w great pay.
Did an instant messaging interview. Thought he’d then go on to an actual interview. But then he just was offered the job. We then thought it was a scam. Checked the email… which was as this…
They then asked for w2. And wouldn’t let him speak to a person.
Reaching out the actual woman recruiter who works for Burlington!
This is happening when I'm trying to log in does it mean the app is down?
Long story short, I gave my two weeks' notice and a written resignation to the store manager, and my notice period has ended. I just saw that they still put me on the schedule after my last day. Should I be worried, or is this an error? Is there anything I must do?
Thank you in advance for any insights about this!!!
Hello everyone!
I am looking for advice on writing my self evaluation as selling floor supervisor. I have done self eval's before (walmart,DT) but I am new to my position at Burlington & am just wondering if anybody else that has been through theirs before has any pointers or anything like that for Burlington's specifically?
Thanks to anyone who has time to read this & I truly appreciate anybody's advice, if able!
From the first check I noticed that they always take 20 dollars from the original payment idk why this happens,is because of taxes or something?
So long story short I was let go after my seasonal position ended even though I asked to stay, bc of “budget cuts” I don’t know if that is true or not but they never told me if they were still hiring for part time or if they would possibly let me come back some time in the future. Unfortunately my options for work are super limited bc of health issues and this happened to be a job I excelled at and I honestly really liked my coworkers. I don’t have any friends and that was pretty much the only socialization I got.. I know that sounds pathetic but🤷♀️ please don’t be judgmental we are all on different paths in life.
Anyway, I applied for a part time position and had an interview scheduled but it was cancelled without explanation. I’m not sure if they aren’t hiring or if I did something wrong and they just don’t want me back but I have really bad anxiety and I just want to know if going back at some point is even an option.
Would it be weird to go in and talk to them about this?
How do we contact HR if our manager refuses to post the HR contact information?
For anyone looking for your W-2 for 2024, it’s on the ADP app. Mine just became available.
Has anyone received their W-2 via ADP yet?
What does FTE means?
I recently started a part time BOH position and finished all of my training except for baller/compactor cert, I have the zebra app but am not scheduled at all, nor has anyone contacted me with a schedule or about my training. I have not been given any store supervisor or managers #NOs and Idk if I'm expected to show up tomorrow, should I just call the store I work at in the morning? Although I was told by a manager who was confused as I was when we couldn't find a supervisor that if they didn't contact me, she would about the schedule but still nothing since Thursday, posting this on Sunday night.
Edit to say thanks for all the replies & help, I ended up calling and was told to come in the next day, talked to another girl who is new and she told me about the group chat, which apparently my supervisor was supposed to do, but I'm able to get the schedule now and yes I've completed all orientation/training. Another girl mentioned it's very disorganized when you first start at B, so it sounds like this is sadly normal.
