Is there an HR number that i can call?

So essentially I feel like I need to call HR and file a complaint against one of my supervisors and just the overall toxic environment that they are creating but i can’t find a single number for HR anywhere. (It’s not posted in the break room like it should be) I’ve already discussed this with my ASM several months ago ( currently without a store manager) and nothing was done. My DM also has received numerous complaints but has yet to even talk to this supervisor. Is there a number, or better yet an email that I can contact to get some help? Thanks

Ess 45 Zebra

Is there anyone I can call to help me fix my login information? I know my email and password but it prompts me to verify my identity by phone number and I’ve changed my number and don’t have access to the previous one. I haven’t been able to get into the app because of this and have had to hope my managers are clocking me in and out correctly and ask for my schedule daily 😔

Rejected Company Review on Job Board:

I submitted this review to a job board, and they rejected it! It’s still shocking to me… thought I’d share it here. Tell me, did I go too far, or am I spot on???

There are countless reviews on what a hostile environment - er - establishment this is to work for. None of the ones I’ve read, or this entry will ever capture exactly how much so. It’s cut throat, it’s corrosive, it’s uncomfortable if you don’t align yourself with deceptive practices and bully behaviors. If you’re naturally a kind person, you’ll for sure be the target they’ve been looking for. Not one person is truly loyal to another. The company has no interest in demonstrating the behaviors they deem their “core values” - they don’t truly care about their customers, if they did, they’d be sure their staffing for cashiers and the sales was budgeted with many more hours than they do. And really you’ll never see a worse group of customers on this earth, it’s almost as if they’re paid to go there and destroy the store - which I wouldn’t be surprised if this is something that Burlington would pay for just to keep the stores employees stressed out even more than they already are. They open new stores that attract more foot traffic and sales, yet never up the amount of staff they have. It is incredibly unsafe for adults, let alone the high school kids that work there. Operation hours are insane, and while the only manager is off counting money from the other registers, often behind a locked door far from the cashiers, the last man standing (yep, the cashier) nervously waits while last minute shoppers take their time making their way to the registers, and breathe a sigh of relief when the last customer is gone and they can finally lock the door. No one wants to work while they are there, because they are expected to do ridiculous amounts of work for little pay, but will call and ask to come in or for more hours, then ask to leave early when they actually get the hours they asked for, because they remember how much work they are expected to do… the only consistent behavior in this company is inconsistency, from the high turnover, to the proper security measures on merchandise, to their SOP’s, nothing is ever the same and stupid sheets of paper are taped to equipment as reminders of the proper way to execute expectations, while the time needed to teach new associates the unbelievable amount of information they’re expected to learn is never taken, and a demonstration from either another associate who had been there for one day longer or a rushed and stressed out supervisor that is being called over the walkie every two seconds is apparently sufficient enough… - or of course “coaching in the moment” practices that are usually done after the fact, to supervisors, and then the supervisors are lectured on how that tool isn’t being utilized…. Well, it’s also not being demonstrated…. Leadership is minimal, at best. When challenging their delusional expectations, gaslighting, avoidance, blame shifting are the go to behaviors - and regardless of no retaliation policies, be very prepared when bringing concerns to corporates attention to sit in a meeting where you are now the person who is being lambasted. When you do finally have other good people working there with you, they leave at the first sign of the dysfunction that exists in this place. There is no culture of trust, partnership teamwork or involvement in helping to attain your career goals, when they do invest in your career, it’s only to sabotage it. Or, you’ll get moved up if you’re the only person that’s been there long enough and willing to continue to put up with the toxicity and just maybe can be somewhat molded into joining in on their crippled idea of “torturing people is the way to the top theory” If you’re homeless this might be a great fir for you, you’d be blessed with more cardboard than you could imagine to build a dream home with. Otherwise, there’s nothing here for a well meaning, hard working person.

New Seasonal Stock worker

Hello everyone, I recently applied for Burlington online and basically got hired the next day. I went to the store the next day for a group interview at a time I picked, but I didn’t have one. I met the manager who was kind and he basically just took me to another employee who was also nice and she showed me how they tagged the clothes and what to expect. I’ve filled out all the onboarding paperwork and now I just have to do orientation and those HR videos that I was told was a pain. 😅

I look forward to working there. I already know how to tag items, of course each store is different. Anyone have any advice or things I should be aware about?

Favoritism at Burlington

So I been working for at least 3 months
And I noticed that sometimes when I would enter at 8 am some my co works would go in to break as soon I clock in meaning that they have a full time shift because they also get lunch . I just find this fucked up lol that's why people quit because they got their favorite works who give them more hours and there's me only working 4 hours and hardly get any days ...should I just keep this to myself and not let it bother me ?

Name Tags

What does the red and white name tags mean at Burlington? Ik at macys the red one means People Leader/Manager and white is regular associate but does that also applies for Burlington. I applied for the seasonal Customer Service Lead and I watched a video with people with different kinds of name tags. Also is that a manager position or no?

Supervisors

Idk if it’s just at my store but what are the supervisors doing when they are just standing there? Like actually there called “sales floor supervisors” but never actually working on the sales floor but instead just walking around doing nothing or just doing stuff in receiving. They never do any type of actual work.

questions

Hello, I signed the offer letter, about two weeks ago for a seasonal position and I have orientation tomorrow. Aside from the offer letter they do not have my i-9 documents nor have I submitted or signed anything. I no longer want the position, what am I supposed to do to retract the offer letter?

Can someone teach me how to be a cashier?

I was recently hired and haven't been trained on how to work a register hands on and that one little video we saw is not gonna help, since I have been pratically thrown under the bus to figure out things out on my own.

Lost

Honestly, second day in on the site and I keep getting "Did I mention that?"s from the manager that bragged about cutting a 50 minute explanation to 5. All in all, all the management (especially the ones sent from the Milwaukee store to temp) seem to be disappointed when I don't seem absolutely prepared and the fellow employees look just as confused as I am. Loudly calling supervisors as suggested is basically shitting into the aether. To top it all off, I had to attempt to intuit their appreal system based off nearly nothing (and those onboarding videos that were all the way a week back or so in the orientation. Still curious about that timing choice.) and ended up getting called out with the absolute disaster that devolved into.

Side note: It's a new store opening, but I swear other other employees have been here longer than me with the training event management keeps mentioning

So my asm asked me to be receiving supervisor then retracted it?

So on Tuesday my asm asked me randomly ,while walking pasted, if I wanted to be receiving supervisor. I have worked over a year in receiving and we haven’t had a supervisor in like 5 months. Just a lead who’s been filling in the duties. I asked are you serious and she responded with well you have to be mean and I said I could be. And she’s like are you sure u have to be mean to everyone and I’m like maybe. And she’s like well can you think about it. Fast forward I text her after my shift when I get home that I’m interested but before taking it further and making a definite decision I want to discuss the requirements and responsibilities. She never replied. I came in the next morning and asked if she got my text she said yes. She said she was happy that I’m interested in doing it but she never asked me to be the supervisor. I respond, no that’s not true and reiterated the whole conversation we had yesterday at the end of my shift and she was like well hr decided we have a new supervisor who’s coming into today. But I will be looking out for you and I appreciate all the things you been doing for receiving and I do want you to move up but it’s taken. I said okay and went to do my job.

I almost cried bc I got excited and talked to all my close friends and wasn’t sure if I was gonna take it bc of the responsibility but like yk. I told my partner what she said and he said you should talk to the store manager about it privately bc what she did was really wrong. Idk if I should.

(Btw I am qualified to a point for the position I was an asm at spirit Halloween last year)

Why is scheduling so hard?

I did a group interview for a seasonal position in early October. I was not asked a single interview question. Just told about what to expect from working at Burlington, but I digress. I gave them my availability and planned time off. No problem. No concerns.

I come to orientation, fill out a paper sheet with my availability, so they can “put it in the system”, tell a 2nd manager about my time off (can’t put in an actual request because it’s to late to do so on the app). She leaves a note for the scheduler.

Come in for my first working shift on a Saturday. Left alone in the fitting room with training only how to sort unwanted items on the rack, because the original person didn’t show up. Fine.

Inform manager that I am scheduled both outside of my availability AND on a date I requested off. She leaves another note.

Call store 3 days in a row to finally speak to scheduler on Tuesday (kept being misinformed of her next shift). We go over my availability and time off a couple of times, sort it out. I get scheduled for Thursday (today). It’s in the app. Great!

I get a text message this morning asking if I’m coming in for my shift today which is now 5 hours earlier??? I check the app and I’m scheduled during my time off AGAIN.

Have yall experienced anything similar working at other Burlington stores? This was supposed to be an easy second job but scheduling and lack of hours is making me want to quit.

Manager seems to have it out for me

Is there a phone number or someone I can reach out to so I can file a grievance? I have my availability in the system it hasn't changed in the year and some change I started and for awhile it was great

Now we have had this new Store manager since March and she schedules me against availability since day 1, and instead of scheduling me appropriately she just removes me from the schedule. I went from 15-28 hours down to 5-16 since she came to our store.

She doesn't seem to mess with anyone else's schedule this way and I can't help but feel it's deliberate. I have spoken to her face to face about it and she pulls the "haha whoops silly me" b.s but won't "fix" it until I go to a different manager about it. I have been looking for different employment but have had no luck and my saving are tapped out from dealing with this.

So is there a number I can call about this?

Quitting Burlington

Two weeks ago, I walked into my old store and turned in my employee badge and told management that I quit. They seem to keep scheduling me on the ESS app, and I got an attendance point. Does it take this long for an employee to be removed from their records? It’s frustrating , I’m considering calling the regional hr department and getting it expedited.
