I started my first day of orientation on Tuesday I only worked for 1 hour bc the computers kept crashing so I was told to go in yesterday after finishing everything I then got shown how things work and what I’ll be doing, after all that I was told to just look at the schedule every day at 8pm I went ahead and did that but it seems I’m only scheduled for 1 day next week is this normal? And I’ll soon be scheduled more days or should I go ahead snd ask for more days I just don’t know if this 1 day is bc I’m still new or this is how the scheduling will work.

Schedules Zebra

Quick question, is it normal for managers at the store to switch your schedule WITHOUT telling you and still expecting you to show up to work??? I get no notifications from Zebra telling me when my new schedule is, which would be GREAT so I can prepare my mental for whatever days I have to work.

Like something told me to check zebra to see if they were gonna schedule me AFTER I said I might not be available this upcoming week bc I have a hiring process going on somewhere else and Lo and behold, they scheduled me AFTER the fact I said I was not going to be available because I have no idea what my other job is going to want from me.

I'm already working Thur-Sat next week and I told my manager starting October that I might not be available bc of my new job which is ALSO part-time, but they're still scheduling me.

They keep scheduling outside of my availability

I’ve told them since I was hired what my availability is, and put in two requests to re-submit it but there’s always something wrong. First, it was not giving me a set day off, and now it’s scheduling one whole hour before my availability.

What can I do to express that availability cannot, ever, go outside the set times? Do I just have to keep pestering them?

Also, am I forced to work the days they set me early because if I don’t they’ll give me an attendance point?

Confessions of a Re-Hire Rant

I will preface this by saying, my first time around I enjoyed every part of my work. I started as a Cashier then quickly moved to be Sportswear Lead & due to personal issues in life outside of work, I moved to Back Of House before I had to eventually leave. Everyone in my store got along with one another, & if they didn't they simply kept their distance. Management was not petty & actually listened to me the few times I expressed concern's. Our store was kept clean, everyone did their designated jobs, but if we needed help in our department it would come. If i went a few mins (like 2-3) over break it was never an issue & for the most part all our Managers/Supervisors trusted me & left me alone to do my work.

NOW, let's begin on my second time around which just began last week. In the two weeks I have been re-hired, quite literally every single day our Back Of House Sup nit-picks everything I do. I'm not tagging the handbags fast enough for her & I remove the trash from them "too neatly". Whatever the hell that is supposed to mean?? When I move to tag Clothing, (granted I am used to the process from my last location where we would tag a pile, sensor, hang, & size before we rolled the rack to the door) so naturally that is what I began doing, but I was yelled at for "taking too many steps" in doing that bc I have to take all of 1-2 steps to grab the sizing nubs I need & throw them on the hangers?? What really got me however was yesterday when I went to take my break, it was 15 mins. I asked to go right around 11:34am okay? & I have neverrrrr ever been reprimanded for going over like i said 1-2 mins bc sometimes you gotta hit the bathroom at the end yk? So I come back to start doing the handbags & my Sup immediately stops me to ask how long my break was. I said "15 minu-" she cut me off to say "What time did you leave from back here?" So again I start to say "I left back here & got to the break room at 11:35" and she then tells me "No, my break begins as soon as I ask her & walk away from my pod" Quite literally what in the absolute fuck??? No where I have worked has EVER told me that. Your break starts when you get to the fucking break room like it SHOULD bc accounting the 2 minutes it takes to walk out of Receiving, to the break room break then back thru receiving is fucking insane. Mind you I came back at 11:48am THAT IS 15 bc mins! So I didn't even go over to be reprimanded abt it🫤plus I always set a timer for my breaks & I still had 1 min 57 sec left before I was due back so truly I was not late getting back by any means.

Now I understand it is two different locations, things will run a bit differently, but if I am processing things the way I was taught, why am I getting hollered at almost every day for doing it wrong when they didnt even train me for the new location🧍🏻‍♀️I went for orientation, did not do the paperwork I was supposed to, instead I was sent to immediately work on processing Home. My new Sup is steady worried abt rushing everyone, even when I cut my finger she kept coming around to ask when I would be done processing Home. Idk abt anyone else, but when you slice open your pointer finger it kind of makes breaking down boxes & slapping stickers on shit not the top priority😀 Also why are there always security tags laying on the ground along with trash... like they never clean up the floor after shift 😭

There's literally a few more things I could complain abt, but Im trying to just bite my tongue & be mature. I do not enjoy my experience this time around & will be looking to leave after the season is over. The nitpicking/micromanaging alone is enough to piss me off, and for it to be daily when I know I am not fucking up THAT much bc again... I didnt have complaints abt my work at the previous location & I was there for a little over a year 😀& Yes I have tried to go back to my first location however they are fully staffed for the Holidays & Full Time so yk... 🫤

Keep being removed from the schedule.

Im in receiving and they completely stopped scheduling me and a few other people. (Most of us been there 3+ yrs) and keep scheduling the same people everyday (even if they do no call no shows multiple times in a week). but ill take one of the random posted shifts to get hrs.

So far they keep removing me from the shift i take the day prior with no explanation. I just retook the shift and worked like nothing happened.

I tried texting my supervisor but she ignores any questions i ask and i dont have any of the managers numbers yet they were just hired last month.

We usually get a 6 pallet truck 5-6 days a week so there should be some hours to spread. Idk why this is happening

Envious that women have better coat selections

Been wanting a trench coat / suit topcoat for years but come winter time jacket season, its never available for mens

However to no surprise the ladies always have it and they got way more styles and choices when it comes to coats, and they can always choose from men’s styles too

Hope this fix this oneday

Return transactions and refunds. And items that won’t scan.

I’ve been working as a cashier for almost a month now, I know how to do transactions with cash, debit/credit cards. But the only thing I keep forgetting how to do is returns and refunds. Do I scan the receipt first? Do I click on return item? or do I scan the tag of the item? I just keep forgetting how to do it and I just feel bad for occasionally asking other cashiers for help, can someone give me a step-by-step guide of a clear explanation about how to do returns?

Also does anyone else know what to do when it comes to items not being scanned and you have to manually look them up on the computer? I keep forgetting how to do that, any feedback, advice, or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Kitty insanity

I know this has been discussed here before, but I wish people would stop obsessing over those stupid HK blankets. They aren’t even cute, so I don’t understand the hype.

We had 3. Different. People. All standing outside the receiving area waiting to see if any came out recently. Do the people who do that not have a job, or literally anything better to do? It’s ridiculous that people are that obsessed.

When this insanity started happening, I had a customer tell me when they asked for one “My friend was just here and saw one”. In my head I was like, well someone must have grabbed it when your friend turned her head sweetie.

This Company is a Joke

I'm a new hire, got through the orientation, in the last minute or so of my 'training' I got handed a thick packet that I'm assuming the 'TRAINER' was supposed to go through with me. She said she'd schedule me in about two weeks when she had hours, I had been watching the scheduling app religiously everyday... no hours anywhere in sight. I go to an appointment only to get a call that I missed a shift and I'm supposed to be in right now... lol ok... Turns out I wasn't using the RIGHT scheduling app. In the handbook given it says look at your schedule through the B-Time portal. I was supposed to be looking through the Zebra app. The manager reacted by removing all of my future scheduled days and is no longer responding to my texts. Super cool and great training from an awesome company.

Anyway just screaming into the void, I would really recommend applying elsewhere. Good luck to everyone this holiday season because I know it's rough out there. I was so excited to have a job again and something to do and now I'm back on the hunt. If this seems like common sense to yall then I apologize but it was not common sense to me, haha. I feel like I was thrown to the wolfs, which I know is common in retail. But in the very least I thought I'd get a chance to help a customer or something.

Frustrated

Hey im genuinely confused being at this job since may and here to vent/rant. Im really confused on my place here as an associate if they are even interested in my availability and drive to be hard working. I was giving the position of receiving associate part time with the option to cover shifts within the store. There has been 4-8 hours weeks for months. Up until last month i was offered to help other locations with inventory for three other locations even. Last week no hours at all. Ive talked to everyone possible about the inconsistency but there is so many vague promises of more opportunities. This week i went 2 days to another location an hour away and was told to not come back tomorrow when i was told it would be for 5 days and im honestly upset the manager incharge has only been on staff for two months and it felt personal. This was just another reason im confused if its genuinely worth my time to stay here for a year or so.

For those newly hired whose manager didn’t help download the app, here you go.

You have to enable camera to scan this code, it will also ask for location permission, You want to select allow while using, this is just so you can punch in and out from your phone. There is a geo fence around the store, it wont allow punching unless you are within the distance limits

Should i go into my store to ask for more hours.

Ive been working in receiving for awhile but now they’re barely scheduling me even though we get a truck almost daily. I feel my supervisor is picking favorites. I know how to do everything in receiving and i covered sca and floor spots before.

We just got brand new managers this month so i dont have their numbers yet or know them well.

Weird text after my interview

At the end of my interview the manager told me I’d know if I get hired bc I’ll get a text from an hr person about a background check. Well 3 days later the hr person texts me “we are sorry to hear you are no longer interested in this opportunity” I can take a sc of it. I waited till Monday morning to call the store I figured I’d be able to call in before any manager gets busy or goes to lunch or something but without fail every call I’ve sent out has been left unanswered. Should I call some more I called a handful of times already or does this mean they didn’t accept my application?

How do you view/print your payslips?

When I pull up Workday and do into My Payslips, it shows me a list of them but not the ability to pull them up fully in order to print them, am I searching for them wrong or something?

is this job interview a scam?

I have been applying to some jobs recently. I got an email about an hour ago about my in person interview at burlington. I did apply on the offical website. But i guess i just feel really skeptical about it because the whole process is though this bot named allison?? (you can question my intelligence, im a bit slow)

it says that my interview is at 2:45pm for 30 minutes this monday. I would really appreciate an answer if this is real or not. Also, the gmail is named "Allison@burlington.com" I feel that because this is just a bot talking to me, i dont know if its real or not. I would of expected for it to be something like calling them to schedule or getting a message/email from a REAL person.

But in short terms... has anyone gotten a job though this bot thing? is this how its supposed to be done? is it a scam or no?? Ty for any answers!

We had a truck every day of the week and she only put me for one day for 3 hours. Ive been working at the store longer than she has and pretty much do any position. Should i go to a manager to try for more hours?

First job/ group interview on Wednesday

Hi I’m a 18 y.o college student and would like to make some extra money. I applied last Tuesday and I was instantly given a group interview for next Wednesday. I am nervous as I have no prior job experience and not sure what a group interview will be like. The position I applied for was seasonal retail stocking associate Part time. As I am a college student the schedule might conflict with this job. Would i be able to tell them if I can work Friday and the weekends or is that a deal breaker? What should I say in the interview?
