Number 15: Burger King Foot Lettuce

The last thing you'd want in your Burger King burger is someone's foot fungus. But as it turns out, that might be what you get. A 4channer uploaded a photo anonymously to the site showcasing his feet in a plastic bin of lettuce. With the statement: "This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King." Admittedly, he had shoes on.

But that's even worse.

The post went live at 11:38 PM on July 16, and a mere 20 minutes later, the Burger King in question was alerted to the rogue employee. At least, I hope he's rogue. How did it happen? Well, the BK employee hadn't removed the Exif data from the uploaded photo, which suggested the culprit was somewhere in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. This was at 11:47. Three minutes later at 11:50, the Burger King branch address was posted with wishes of happy unemployment. 5 minutes later, the news station was contacted by another 4channer. And three minutes later, at 11:58, a link was posted: BK's "Tell us about us" online forum. The foot photo, otherwise known as exhibit A, was attached. Cleveland Scene Magazine contacted the BK in question the next day. When questioned, the breakfast shift manager said "Oh, I know who that is. He's getting fired." Mystery solved by 4chan. Now we can all go back to eating our fast food in peace.

Love for BK Nuggets

Burger King chicken nuggets often rank badly when people online judge fast food nuggets. Maybe I’ve just got a terrible palate, but I truly love their nuggets! One of my favorites of fast food chicken nuggets. I find them to be flavorful, a decent value for the price, and I prefer them plain without any sauce.

Probably a controversial opinion, but I will die on the hill that BK nuggets are great!

So did everyone buy the $1 cheeseburger M-F…

Stick ‘em in the fridge and make a quintuple stack for Friday grub? Tell me I’m not alone. (And if you had two phones, were you a decuple disciple?)

Why??

I thought when we got our Kiosks installed it would help a bit during a rush so we aren’t going back and first as often, but so far everyone avoids it like the plague! Out of every 10 orders, 7 of them use cards. Do people just not like the idea of them or am I missing something?

Burger King workers, is the Impossible burger any more or less convenient than a beef patty?

I really like how it tastes, and it's nice to have a vegetarian option once in a while, so I order it from time to time. However, I've never worked in fast food, so there are things I just don't know.

I figure if the Impossible Burger uses a different patty, there's a chance it may be a pain in the butt to make. If it is, I wanna know so I can avoid ordering it when my local location is busy.

If you work at a Burger King, can you tell me how difficult an Impossible Burger is to make as compared to a regular Whopper? Thanks.

It's time: Bring it back. BK Broiler

With all the chicken sandwhich craze, and BK's own offerings lacking, it's time to bring back the original, the chicken sandwich they excelled at...the BK Broiler.

For those too young:

Burger King's first broiled chicken burger, the BK Broiler, was introduced in 1990.^([3])^([4]) It was made with lettuce, tomato and a dill ranch sauce served on an oat dusted roll.^([5])

It was revolutionary at the time due to not being fried and having a unique sauce and bun.

It would be just as revolutionary today in light of all the Fried Chicken/Pickle/Thousand Island variants and clones out there flooding the market.

They could hype it up by also simultaneously offering a Spicy BK Broiler with Buffalo Ranch instead of Dill Ranch. Get one of each!

Interview

I applied thru a bot (Paradox) so I don’t know how legible it was, but basically it gave me a date to show up an interview. I showed up at the right time and asked for manager but they were not in today. I am wondering if anyone had a similar experience getting hired and given a date through the bot

When did BK fries become so superior to McDs?

The past couple of days, I have been to both BK and McD's on a tight work schedule with no time to cook. I've been taking advantage of both of their app deals.

First day was McDonald's. Have McD's fries lost their golden color over the years or did this restaurant just not cook them long enough? I have no idea, but they were oddly pasty white. They were also quite thin. Being thin is their signature, but they seemed even a bit thinner than I remember. And they also forgot to salt them. I took care of that, heated them up for a few minutes in my own oven, and they were edible.

But the next day, I got BK fries. Their app's deal of buy anything for at least a dollar and get any size fries for free. Yum. Hot, fresh, FAT. Full of potato. Hot and well-salted. So good.

Who remembers BK fries from the late 1990s? Sadly, I do. I don't know what supplier they were using around 1997-99, but the fries were seriously not good. Something weird about the outer coating.

But BK has really stepped it up and it's pretty awesome. Can safely say that these days, BK, Wendy's and Arby's new crinkle cut fries all come in first over McD's fries.

Why does a Royal Chicken sandwich taste like Stove Top turkey stuffing?

So I’ve always enjoyed the Classic Chicken. When the Royal Chicken was introduced a couple years ago I was excited since it looked like a more substantial meal. The first time I had it I thought it was okay. Nowhere near as good as a Wendy’s Asiago Chicken, but still serviceable. I’ve had it a couple times since just to see if anything changed, but it just never quite hit right. Even as processed and spongy as the Classic is, it was still much more appetizing.

Then today I remembered I had put a coupon in my wallet for a Royal meal thinking it would be a decent lunch when I was short on time. I just finished it and finally realized what’s been throwing me off - it tastes like a boxed turkey stuffing, specifically the bun. I thought maybe it was chicken bouillon at first, but then it clicked. It’s definitely the stuffing. I don’t know why they decided to capture that flavor or if it was even intentional, but there’s no mistaking it now.

What’s even weirder is that I never get that flavor profile from the Classic or a Whopper. I guess they make the buns differently since those are sesame seeded. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on Stove Top stuffing. It’s what I grew up with for Thanksgiving along with many Americans. But I’d definitely prefer to have a homemade from scratch stuffing, and I’m not all that interested in fast food chicken sandwiches that taste like it.

Conclusion: the Royal Chicken isn’t bad, but that’s probably the last time I’ll ever eat one.
