Hi! Im new to Lithium and am trying to add something. I usualy work with an addon for Inkscape that is called inkstitch. When i try to download Inkscape i wont get the correct version so i removed it and downloaded ”inkscape.appimage” instead. So i was wondering… i want to add that appimage file to open om a keycommand. Like ”super + i” or something. Could i get some help here maybe? The only thing i manage to find is that there are a config file but the documentation says its buggy.
I am trying to enter on forum to check if there's an update of weather's script and it doesn't load. I tried with with [downforeveryoneorjustme(https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/bunsenlabs.org) and it says it's ok, but even with a VPN I get a 404.
I was discussing this a few days ago with another user on Reddit and since the official forums sign accepting new users, I decided to post here. I have a netbook and the specs are the following:
Since Windows 7 doesn't run great and Windows XP doesn't have great app compatibility and it can be a pain to find a version that works on XP, I decided to try some Linux distros. So far BunsenLabs has been the fastest and all hardware works. But I noticed that screen tearing is very well present and visible, and while the GPU drivers are installed, I don't really like screen tearing. I was told that it was probably because Xorg was acting up. I tried a fix that worked for another user but didn't for me. How can I fix the screen tearing?
Is there a way to make the Xrandr settings permanent in Bunsenlabs Linux. My laptop with Bunsenlabs does not detect the appropriate screen resolution and so, I found a way to do it with Xrandr. But the settings get reset everytime I login. So, is there any way to make the Xrandr settings permanent?

why can i find telegram app in synaptic package manager on bunsenlabs but i can find it on crunchbang plus plus? is it a bug? i tried installing telegram through snapd but i get an error. im using crunchbang plus plus now because of this issue. so far cbpp in my experience is a lot smoother than BL
I'm looking to install tintin++ could any one help?
Aye everybody.
I just installed Bunsenlabs on a quite old machine, where I have to use internet through a WiFi USB Adaptor.
During the installation process it all worked perfectly. I used the text based installer and it was able to connect to WiFi wonderfully.
Now, though, it can't connect anymore. It can see the wifi connection, but if I try to connect it will just say, after loading for around 20 seconds, "Disconnected - The WiFi connection has been terminated".
I already checked that the password is correct. I thought that it was a firmare issue but I saw in /lib/firmware that the necessary file, rt2870.bin, is there. I rebooted and the issue is still there. And yes, other computers in my house can connect without issues, of course. In fact now I'm writing you from an other pc.
Suggestions?
I'm using BunsenLabs on a 1GB RAM computer and it overloads quickly when using a Live USB with BunsenLabs, sooo... is there a way to add a swap file to avoid this? BTW, I can't install the OS on this computer...
I don't own a single flash drive (haha) and my main PC doesn't have a cd/dvd thing, much less something to burn the .iso with. Also, my last interaction with installing a Linux-based OS is back when wubi.exe was still a thing.
I'm trying to revive an old laptop (ca. 2009 and it's the twisty screen with touchscreen and pen currently running Ubuntu 12.something) and I'm only looking to run VLC on it and maybe practice some dexterity with the pen.
I have an dell Vostro 1710, with a core 2 duo 2.4ghz In conky it's reporting it's always running at 2.4, it never drops down to a slower speed when ideal. Is there anything I can do to make it a bit more efficient ie let the clock speed drop down when not needed Thank you for any help any one can give
Put in my user name and password and was unable to login. Then changed the root password and still have been unable to log on. In tty I'm able to install programs with no problem in tty so this is pretty confusing.
Hi.
I've been trying to install BunsenLabs on my computer, but I can't get it to boot.
It goes through the setup perfectly fine and everything.
However, whenever I try to start it up after installing, it simply will not start.
It doesn't even print out an error message, just a blinking underscore with black screen.
As seen here, here is the output of:
user@debian:~$ sudo parted -l Model: ATA WDC WD1600BEVT-2 (scsi) Disk /dev/sda: 160GB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: msdos Disk Flags: Number Start End Size Type File system Flags 1 1049kB 159GB 159GB primary ext4 2 159GB 160GB 1061MB extended 5 159GB 160GB 1061MB logical linux-swap(v1) Warning: The driver descriptor says the physical block size is 2048 bytes, but Linux says it is 512 bytes.
I ve installed crunchbangplusplus on the same pc, and it worked perfectly.. but now i want to try BunsenLabs.. What can i do?
(SOLVED)
Hi
Im trying BunsenLabs OS desktop In VM
I installed Beaker Browser flatpak
Flatpak seem to work fine
However, Beaker not showing anywhere, not in network, multimedia etc
Now, i have to use command line in terminal to open Beaker, thats not very useful
Although, Bunsen is the best OS i've tried in VM so far, good job!
So I just started a new job, the machines three have Debian running. At home I'm using BL, so I thought about installing BL on my work machine. Only it's not a minimal Debian install, it has all the bells and whistles. Will running the BL setup scripts break anything?
EDIT: Nothing got broken, but some things don't launch at startup (like tint2 or conky). Also, keyboard map settings in lightdm ara a bit wonky - it still picks these settings somewhere else. Not too dramatic, can fix it when I'm more inspired...
BunsenLabs Lithium (Debian Buster) running the Plasma desktop, themes and icons by me, hhh.
I'm trialling a non-Debian distribution, so none of BL's support system is present. My desktop is screwed up: none of tint2's helper scripts work, missing icons, blank tooltip texts, missing panel entries and blank spaces where there shouldn't be, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I like BL and have used it since the split. But the present desktop is unworkable for a longer time.
I want to remove BL from my home directory's, Openbox's and XFCE's configs. Alternatively, to make the desktop workable somehow overlay BL's system additions on top of a Gentoo install (but I wonder if that's even possible).
Been awhile. My last two laptop purchases have happened while I've been on the fly, and i became interested in gaming again for the first time in almost two decades so i just kinda got lazy and stayed with winblows.
I think proton is about to change that.
My first choice would be BL. I used to use Xubuntu a lot. I've never tried Mint but have always wanted to. Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone's rocking Win games in Steam on !# yet? Am i still allowed to call it that?

So I have a computer where I have 2 drives, 1 system drive (80gb) and 1 data drive (10tb). However, when I open my drive, it shows the 2 drives combined into 1.
