hi everyone, I recently moved to the area from west coast and I used to love playing pickup ⚽️ & 🏈 with friends.
I have checked out the leagues and meetup app and saw most of the available opportunities are out in Raleigh. Thought I’d put it out there that I’d love to find others in Durham area who’d love to play either sports. Lmk if anyone is interested.
I have a ton of soccer balls, footballs, cones, Pennies. Missing having the outlet of fun team sports and looking for others who relate to that!
Does anyone know when the new Cava in the Southpoint area is going to open? I googled and came up empty.
I’ve been attending more shows at DPAC lately, and I just wanted to share my positive experiences. I recently filled out one of their surveys, and it’s rare to have almost nothing to complain about at a venue with so many service-related roles. They even prompted me for more in-depth feedback, and the only thing I could mention was that my cookie could have been warmer and softer!
I know posting this might invite the usual criticisms—bathroom wait times, temperature issues, or thoughts on food prices—but I wanted to take a moment to appreciate how DPAC does just about everything right. The staff is amazing, from the friendly greeters who welcome you even before you enter the venue. If you’re having a lousy day and are hesitant about attending a show you bought tickets for months ago, their warm welcome can really lift your spirits.
There’s so much negativity out there—from myself, included. But I wanted to share something positive. We should be very proud of DPAC!
Check it out!
Last week there were a bunch of break-ins at my apartment complex overnight. I was lucky enough where they cracked my drivers side window but didn’t fully shatter it.
Wanted to ask for any recommendations to get this sorted out in Durham or surrounding area.
Does one need to return books to the same branch they were checked out ? Like, if I got books at Southeast, can I return them to the Main library branch?
Can I ask for financial assistance for dentists? I know you can ask for fin assistance at Duke urgent care. Just checking in before I drop a couple bands on this procedure
EDIT: We have found someone. If you are still interested, please feel free to send us an email, and we may be able to schedule sometime in the future (especially please email us if you are over 55, as we always need more people in that age range).
Hi,
I am a brain researcher at Duke. We are running a study on how people encode memories. We have a brain scan session scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3, from 9 am to Noon at the Duke University Hospital. However, our participant canceled their session at the last minute.
This is very inconvenient for us as these types of scanning spots are limited, and it is beyond our cancellation time limit. I wouldn't normally post on Reddit, but if anyone at all could be a participant in the study that would be much appreciated. I ask that they please email our address: relrep@duke.edu
The study takes 3 hours and pays $30/hr. Of that time, 2 hours would be spent in the scanner. If you are available for 1-1.5 hours at home today, we would also ask that you do a practice session of the memory task, which you would be compensated $45 for. The total compensation is $135.
The only major screening requirement is that participants must be either below 30 years old or over 55 years old.
Thank you
We are right now interested in just filling out this open spot tomorrow. If that doesn't work for you but you're interested in participating in research at some future date, feel free to also let us know.

I made the mistake of buying final sale/no return jeans last week, and even though I measured myself, they do not fit. Any recommendations for tailors in Durham that do great work with denim/jeans?
It looks like The Slush is closing in downtown Durham. I can't believe it had already been 3 years. We never made it there.
I spent a few years plotting a move to a bigger city, but now that I'm gone I miss Durham like hell! The simple things. riding my bike past the dinosaur, getting bread at La Superior, swimming in some murky Eno water...
What's your favorite thing about living here?
Curious what the community volunteer days are like! Anyone out here have experience?
Hi all. Me and my girlfriend recently attended our first edm show (bass bunker, downtown durham) and we are looking for more shows to go to in the raleigh/durham chapel hill area. If anyone could assist us thanks. Note: we are 19 and 20 respectively. So 21+ shows are sadly not a option.
Come one, come all to Silent Fright Circus Show at Motorco in Durham on Saturday, December 7, presented by Triangle-based Purple Marble Circus.

Grab your bells and bows as we take a stroll down Candy Cane Lane, with a scary and spooky peppermint twist.

For Christmas this year my sister blessed me with an image of Paul Hollywood but in form of an ornament. We went to check out the place in brightleaf to see if they had it, sadly it is sold out. I would like to know if anyone has seen it near or at a different location!! I’d love to gift it to her as a little gag gift as we both enjoy “tgbbs” Thanks!
They have turned off all their comments… 🤔
I saw a post months ago that gave me the idea to offer up two bottles for trade. They are nothing special.
Offer: -- 1.75 L bulleit rye -- 750 mL gentleman jack daniel's
Things I would accept in a trade: -- a 25 minute lesson on how to sharpen knifes on a whetstone -- a haircut -- 0 degree sleeping bag -- 12' camping hammock -- portable jump-starter -- or make an offer via pm!
Pretty much the title. I am a pretty decent distance away so I can’t pop over to see if there is a sign or anything. But I saw their hours were updated to closed everyday.
