after installing brunch chrome os in my laptop, do i get updates from google or from brunch??
Last night I went ahead and made a dualboot device with a Voxel recovery image of chromeOS and windows 11, and i've encountered a few problems that i'm hoping to fix here:
Google play services error 7: Everytime i try to start up the google play store i'm met with error 7. I tried exploring this subreddit for a solution but i got mixed replies on how to fix that. One post talked about changing the kernal but i'm not sure how to go about doing that.
Linux "error creating disk image" when trying to install it: I have tried to find the Crostini Use DLC flag to disable it but I can't find this on my device.
I'm running an 11th gen intel samsung laptop. If i can get some feedback i'd really appreciate it
brunch framework is stuck loading. My cpu is a 9th gen celeron N4020 1.10 GHz am I compatible? I downloaded the rammus version
Ive been trying to install chromeOS on my T430 (I5 3rd gen intel 4000 gpu) But it kept hanging on Building framework. Verbose says “Switching to inteldrmfb from EFI VGA” and hangs there. No im not impatient i let it sit for a day lol nothing more happens. It used to work before so i find this weird.. Using SAMUS recovery.
Hello,
I'm getting Error Code 7 when I try to open the Google Play Store. Is someone facing the same issue?
Spec:
AMD Ryzen 7900
Image Recovery: gumboz
What I already tried:
my cpus ryzen R5 4500u,making a img and flash into a hd。how could i launch linux dev?my button is diabled:/
Added Chrome OS to make it a bit more functional. The M3-7y30 and 4GB of RAM is getting a bit long in the tooth, but still one of my favorite form factors. (Yoga Book C930)
So Im quite confused which Recovery Image I should use for the Surface Go 1 which has an Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y its technically KabyLake so 7th Gen or is it under a Celeron :D
I have installed chrome os with brunch, everything works correctly except the microphone, I have even tried it with other versions of chromeos and it still does not work, i have a lenovo ideapd 3 mi chromeos version is Versión 130.0.6723.101 (Build oficial) (64 bits) and my kernel version: chronos@brunch / $ uname -r 6.6.54-generic-brunch-sebanc my sound card: sof-hda-dsp
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to install Brunch on my laptop and I’m not sure which version is the most compatible. Here are my laptop specs:
I’ve already tried the following versions:
Unfortunately, none of these worked for me. Can someone guide me on the best Brunch version to use for this setup? Thanks in advance!
Ubuntu terminal on windows keeps closing on me when I am trying to create the ISO file, is anyone able to help? Also gets to this same screen and the terminal shuts off. It looks as though an ISO file gets created but I'm guessing it's corrupted because the terminal has shut down

the reason i got chromeos is to run some android apps on my laptop, i actually dont regret it at all i mostly run idle heroes and sometimes even use the kfc app to order food.
i dont regret making a brunchbook took less then like 30 minutes
I need some help if it can be solved. first, I can't use tablet mode when I detach the screen and put it back in reverse (notebook mode). why do I even want this? well, because I like the way it has more battery life since both battery in the keyboard and screen works at the same time. although the screen itself works alone and turns into tablet mode, but once I attach it again on the keyboard in either ways whether in front or behind it, the system reverts back to laptop mode. I already tried searching for ways, such as using the Control+Alt+Shift+T shortcut to force it into tablet mode but it just didn’t work. then, since I can still use it regardless it's on laptop or tablet mode, another problem of mine is the touchscreen screen turning off after some time. I found that it's somehow an actual problem to other users as well and I found my own way to solve it whenever it occurs, and it's by suspending or going to sleep. at first, I close the lid slowly until it goes off on its own and I open it after by touching the touchpad or the keyboard, you'll know that it worked when you see your wifi got turned off and touchscreen works again. recently, I learned about the sleep shortcut on keyboard which is Shift+Search+L and then open it the same or with the power button. speaking of power button, why don't I just use it? well, that's another problem of mine. using the power button doesn't make the system go to sleep, it just literally turns the screen off. that's why whenever I use the notebook mode in surface boke 1, I can't make the touchscreen to work again if it goes away after some time because the only way I can make it go back is to make the system go sleep, with that I have to detach the screen again and put it in front of the keyboard so that it can be used and so I can make it go to sleep. it's literally the most inconvenient thing that I face with the device/system, and I hope that anyone can help me. I'll provide more info and details if any part is unclear or confusing.
Hey guys I recently learned about brunchos and started to do everything following the GiTHUB. However im running into issues where on the start screen i cant connect to the WIFI so i cant proceed with the next steps. Is this because of the brunchOS that i have or the ChromeOS or kernal??? Sorry im really new to all of this so if you can stupify it i would appreciate it! I'm trying to run it on my surface pro with a intel i5 7300u processor. I'm pretty sure its a 7th gen intel processor which I know it doesnt officially support it but from what i researched people have done it with no issues? I used the latest version of shyvana and the latest version of Brunchos. Thanks!
Wanted to try ChromeOS on my 5th Gen PC. Tried so many chromeOS recovery. My screen always stuck with Brunch boot as it’s not supposed anymore. So I wonder which last version I can use?
greetings..
i tried to install chrome os using brunch before on my dell 5290 2-in-1 laptop intel i5 8th gen, i have successfully installed a working version of the os, but the detachable keyboard and the auto rotate screen didn't work well..
lately i heard that the flex os fully support dell 5290, so i thought i give it another try i may have some luck this time..
any advices or guide that can help me prepare and install the os the proper way that fit my device ??
anyone has a good experience installing chrome os into the dell 5290 ??
I am attempting to use sudo in the shell, however when I login through crosh using shell and run sudo, it outputs:
sudo: The "no new privileges" flag is set, which prevents sudo from running as root.
sudo: If sudo is running in a container, you may need to adjust the container configuration to disable the flag.
I found that this is a change since M117 and to use sudo one needs to run ctrl+alt+F2/left arrow, however whenever I do that it asks for login info. I have been putting chronos as the user, and tried a variety of passwords including none, chronos, facepunch, chrome and test0000. I am not sure if there is a password set during compilation that is different than that or if there is a option in the brunch settings? Any help would appreciated.
Update: there is a flag in the brunch settings labeled enable_crosh_sudo once that is enabled, sudo works just fine.
So I have a Lenovo yoga 2 11 and I decided to install ChromeOS on it (current os before that was ChromeOS Flex) and after the applying patches phase, It gets shows the ChromeOS logo and gets stuck on it.(I'm using a usb)
I have a Surface Pro 5 that I have the latest Brunch R128 on and everything works with the exception of connecting to my iPhone hotspot and a few other random Wireless Networks. This worked when I was trying Fyde on it. It will try and connect but keeps telling me incorrect password. The Hotspot works with any other device I connect to it. I also have issues with a SSID on an Eero AP but the same SSID and password on a Fortinet AP and Cisco works fine. The EERO will work on the same Surface if I boot up a PopOS Stick as well. This is with both kernel 6.1 and 6.6. Also let me say a HUGE thankyou to Sebanc for making this. I was almost ready to pay for Fyde but this works just as good except for this issue and Auto Rotation. The odd thing is with Kernel 6.6 auto rotation works with the keyboard attached but doesn't in tablet mode without the keyboard lol.
I have an Intel i3 4th generation with I think 121 version. it is quite outdated but other versions I tried don't boot. What's the latest version that boots on this processor?
I've installed chrome OS with brunch on my laptop and want to dual boot it with Linux.
I'd like to just create a free partition and install Linux on that partition, but it doesn't seem to be easy to manage partitions on chrome OS.
Is there a good program (preferred with GUI, but command line is also fine) that allows me to edit the Partitions?
Or should I gust wipe my Chrome OS and install Linux first and chrome OS on another partition (not sure if that work when installing Chrome OS, I hadn't any option to choose my partition)?
So i followed the brunch install steps 2 times and i tried installing chromeos flex and i always ran into the same issue.
I cant login- i type my gmail and password but it says that something failed
i cant browse as guest- when i tried to browse as guest, the button jus did not work.
can someone please help 🙏
I was successful in getting a working display and Android apps using chromeos_15572.63.0_octopus_recovery_stable-channel_mp-v32.bin.zip with brunch_r117_stable_20231007.tar.gz on my Lenovo Thinkcentre M73 but if I want to add Linux apps it demands that I upgrade to the latest version of the ChromeOS system. When I do I am unable to complete booting and am stuck at the ChromeOS logo. Is there some way to force it to let me add Linux apps on the version that is working for me?
I know multiple people have had this issue, but none of the solutions have worked so far, and my mic is on but its not picking up any sound pls help I already updated brunch and the kernel and it fixed nothing pls help Device: Lenovo yoga 7, 32GB ram 100GB ssd dualbooting with win11 and grub2win
Is the benchmark performance of the brunchbook the same as that of a Chromebook with the same CPU?
Hey guys, I have Chrome OS usable on my flash drive but is there a way to fully install Chrome OS on my MacBook pro? I don't know why but for some reason it's not giving me an install prompt when I was setting up Chrome OS on my flash drive can somebody please help me?
