Hey!
Never posted in here but looking for some recommendations of things to do and whether the bars/clubs usually need bookings. We’re a group of girls going together, we’ve been around Brindley Place before and a few bars round there so probably looking around that area. But any recommendations are great!
OK gang! Lets get serious. Where in Birmingham can I buy this: -
I have tried the Asda at Minworth, the Asda at the One Stop in Perry Bar, the Morrisons by Five Ways and the big Tesco by Dudley. Anyone got any ideas?
So we picked Cosy Club on Brindley Place. Food was great, no complaints. They're a bit naughty with the sides prices (even charged for a pot of tartare sauce) but I guess it's city centre money and you have to expect it.
Thanks all in here 😁
Self explanatory
Is there anywhere in Birmingham where you can try out office chairs? High end sort of ones. I remember around 10 years ago I used to go to Staples but since they've closed down the only other place I've gone is IKEA and a warehouse that is fairly local to me. The warehouse just didn't have the top end quality chairs I was looking for and I ended up purchasing the IKEA Markus which is a well built chair at what was a fair price imo.
However, my IKEA Markus is wearing down now and I'm likely going to need another chair in around the 6-12 months. I like to lean back a lot on my chair.
There are so many options for foodies in Brum but where are you most likely to go to get your fix?
I've looked online and can't find any info on this. I know the car park is open until midnight, so I'm assuming the pay machines MUST be accessible...but as they are in by the lifts, I'm assuming everything needs to be closed when the centre closes.

i’ve heard this name before and did some digging and found this news article:

what is the lore here?
Hi all! I usually enjoy coming into town but over the past few months- with the advent of loads of new shops and the German markets - where is somewhere else I can hang out after work? Trying to avoid the city centre now like the plague!
Hello, can anyone recommend a good reputable psychic medium in South Brum? Id rather go by reputation as opposed to taking pot luck. Thankyou 🌱
So i saw upon booking that they have a smart/casual dress code, and i was wandering to what extent do they really require this. Cause i don't really have anything particularly elegant in my wardrobe. Plus, before the dinner, the program of the day include somewhat sporty activities, so the idea was to dress somewhat comfy. I mean i heard only good about this place though.. it ain't a michelin starred restaurant.. it's a chain.. So my question is, is it one of those reminders that are kind of followed if you want? Or do every client in M&C dress for the occasion?
I'm all for people celebrating their cultures but when fireworks are going off for 5 hours straight, going past 11pm, rubbish left on the streets and Indian families letting of fireworks on the roads past 11pm with no consideration for their neighbours then it's an issue.
Not to mention the couple of Indian freshies walking around with a loud speaker at half 1 playing their Indian rap music loudly in the Winson Green area.
It seems these new wave of Indian immigrants think they can just come here and do what they please. I've never known Diwali celebrations to be that disruptive. If you want to behave like that, go back to India and celebrate it like that. So glad I moved out of Birmingham and only here for the weekend. Seems like this getting worse. Good luck to everyone having to deal with this new wave of freshies.
Hii, does anyone know if there's anywhere to charge phones in the library? And if there's anywhere I can borrow a charging cord from? My phone battery is shit and completely forgot my charger when I left the house. Thank you :) (I'm not actually there yet that's why I'm asking on here and not there)
Anybody know if they take card or is it cash only? tia!
A couple of weeks ago my dad (71) went to Birmingham with a friend to see a gig. He got himself into a bit of a drunkern pickle and ended up lost. A young girl found him collapsed and helped him back to his hotel. Thank you for being kind, understanding and helping him when anything could've happened to him. I know there's next to zero chance the person who did this will see this post, but if you helped Frank from Liverpool - thank you so much.
It sounds like a bloody warzone out there and it's stressing my dog out and waking my baby up. Why do they need to be set off so late? It just seems so selfish
Honestly what the hell is going on with all these fireworks? From 17:00 till now it's not stopping. Are you people fucking nuts or something? What the hell is the reason for it? It's not the 5th yet. Is it because of Diwali?
As I've seen a few posts asking on opinions of anyone using BRSK I recently had my instalation and moved over from Virgin Media, 350mbps for £41 a month but BRSK were offering 1gbps for £30 a month.. no brainer right? Well so far so good! Instalation took less than an hour (I live in a block of flats they'd previously installed fibre to the building a month or 2 ago), the fitter was very polite and professional. Speeds over wifi have been consistently around 600mbps down and 550 up and using ethernet to download games on my xbox I was getting 950mbps (yet to speed test using ethernet). Fitter told me that Unfortunately the modem just can't output the full 1gbps.
After 2 weeks of use I can't fault the connection and stability. I will of course update the post with any further comments.

Hi, I’m just wondering if anyone knows of any theatre/musical groups or something of that sort that would take newcomers. My wife is from Toronto and has worked off Broadway and is an amazing singer. I think she would really benefit from being in a creative environment as she hasn’t done anything like this for a long time. We live in Black Country but getting to Birmingham isn’t an issue.
I'm writing a story on the many delays, failings and eventual (disappearance) of the combined authority-funded HS2 Academy at 2 Lister Street. the institution seems to have been known as an HS2 academy by locals - but has been called both a National College of Highspeed Rail and then the National College for Advanced Transport and Infrastructure.
It just seems to have closed very quietly with very little scrutiny as to why and how - there have been reports that it was taken under the aegis of the University of Birmingham - and then nothing since. Have the site's functions been transferred to the Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) Skills Academy - or just been ditched completely?
If you were a student or teacher at the academy please do get in contact with me at sam@birminghamdispatch.co.uk, thanks.
Flatpack have put together a survey in aid of the campaign for saving The Electric Cinema. If this cause is important to you, please complete it. It only takes a few minutes.

Thanks
Love this place, Hog crowd is prime example of Birmingham "mr hyde" side of the people.
Crazy how you can easly meet people who started going 30 years ago. Thats one of a kind history right there.
Hard not to mention tunnel club/subway city. What a powerful spot - never change.
Thanks Surgeon x
It absolutely LOOKS like an outlet now, both from the outside and the decor and upkeep on the inside. However, I went in earlier this week and it looks like it's still being stocked with mainstream House of Fraser stock. Stuff I would consider non-outlet, like new Ted Baker stuff, etc. And then there's the top floor.... I find it so odd.
Just walked down corporation street and noticed the cancer research has completely closed and been gutted. Just wondering what happened (I know it was on the expensive side of charity shops but they sometimes had some nice vintage stuff.
