Did anyone download the Ridge lines from FATMAP before Strava shut it down? Or is there an alternative app now? I've got Stepping Up but there was some cool extra stuff on Fatmap as well.
Pretty early in the season for getting buried. The mountains don't care about you, but your family probably does.
Is late March still a good time to visit for skiing here?
Hi all, beginner family of skiers from Australia. We are visiting the USA (specifically Yellowstone area) in Jan 2025 and would love to ski at Bridger Bowl - looks absolutely lovely! Our kids are pretty young and we are definitely used to lifts with safety bars, so just wondering if the beginner lifts at Bridger Bowl have bars or not? Can't find anything conclusive online regarding this either. Just to be mentally prepared.
Cheers thank you!
Title says it all. When clicking "buy" and accessing any of the estore.bridgerbowl pages, I get a white screen.
Its been a week already and I've contacted them by mail but got no response. Is this issue shared ? Do you manage to access the estore pages ? If somehow anyone could inform their staff about it (I can't call them by phone as I currently am in Europe).
Read this over the weekend and had mixed feelings about it, but she does mention BB quite a bit. It's worth a read just for that if anyone is interested. It is kindof a pessimistic book about being a ski bum and has kindof like some weird underlying base on climate change and stuff.
I came across some of the BB ski bums mentioned in the book 15+ years ago and thought it was cool.
While sking at Bridger today (4/19/2024) I found a skin bag with a pair of skins in them lying in the middle of the trail at about mid-mountain. If there your please contact me.
As the title suggests, what snowboard do you like for the steep and narrow chutes?
My go-to for deeper and/or ridge hiking days has been a hovercraft but sadly I’m afraid it’s done its last rock dance. Thought I’d ask what others have liked before taking advantage of end of season prices. So far I’m considering old faithful (another hovercraft), a jones stratos for quicker/shorter turning ability, or something standard twin shaped but directional.
+1 beer and a Jell-O shot at grizzy for picking the winner
Is it worth it going one more time tomorrow to close out the season?
Just curious if April 1st is celebrated for gaper day? Just looking for an excuse to wear a new fart bag.
The mountains gotten a couple inches yesterday night and tonight, any locals think it will be any fun for me to snowboard tomorrow ? I’ll be renting all my gear so pretty worried about rocks messing something up
Thanks in advance
I made a stupid post, and a lot of people had hot takes for BB. Drop your hot takes.
I was up skiing a few weeks ago, and noticed some major inconsistencies in the trail maps and the trail signage. For example on Kurt’s, (black off PK) it’s signed as Kurts Corner. There are still signs up for Crosscut, a run that I can’t find on a map, and sets you way far off to the side. Southbound’s sign looks tampered with, possibly from when the run was renamed. And on the map, Freedom and Easy Money are blues, but the symbols are still diamonds from when they were blacks. I know there are more that I can’t think of, but has anyone else noticed this. Anymore anyone else can think of? I’m not calling Bridger Bowl out, I just think they’re fun lil Easter eggs.
Friday. First chair.
Just point the tips straight downhill that’s it
Line out to the highway...
With current snow conditions would you guys recommend skiing at bridger or big sky? I usually enjoy more powder.
I was wondering what blacks/blues would be good for an intermediate/advanced skier. I ski well enough but wondering what were some harder blues and easier blacks.
Just sayin..
Just wondering how the crowds are on the weekends and how the snow is for 2nd time skiers. We going on 24-26
Planning on skiing Feb 10-13, have the ability to go either to Bridger or Big sky. I'm with my family who mainly skiis Blue/Black groomers. Recommendations with current level of snow?
Se title.
Just saw it's Bridger's 69th birthday on Friday. Details are sparse on the website though. Has anyone been to one before? Is it a good time and worth a special trip or just added crowds?
Thanks!
Heading out end of March. What are snow conditions like then?
-curious
Does anybody know if season pass holders get discounted tickets for friends or buddy passes?
Here's the sitch; I want to start shooting more ski/snowboard photos again, but I don't know too many people at Bridger yet (this is my 2nd season as a passholder). I used to shoot a good bit when I was in Utah, but have fallen off since moving to Bozeman for work a couple years ago, since I've mostly been riding alone.
I'm down to shoot whatever; I'm a very experienced rider with a full avy kit and avy training, and am more than happy to hike around the Ridge. Also don't mind just cruising side hits, groomer carves, or even hitting the park. Here are a couple of screenshots of some photos I've taken just to give you an idea of how I shoot. Message me if you want to ride/ski and we'll link up!!!
How early in the morning does the parking lot fill up this time of year? (Weekdays) Planning a visit and want to be prepared!
