Hey folks! A dear friend of mine has an in-home daycare on 32nd and Green Street in Bridgeport and has an opening for 1-2 kiddos aged at least 18 months. She’s a trained Montessori teacher and has been a childcare professional for over ten years.
If interested, her contact information is

To read more about her philosophy, here's a fantastic blog post she wrote:

Hey all. I'm new to the area and wondering if the Beardsley Zoo is in a safe enough part of town. The Glow Lanterns seem like a great activity, but it is at night, so I just wanted to check. Any insight is appreciated!

I was excited when I learned that Nicole Lee was appointed as Alderwoman as I thought it would be good to have Asian representation in the City Council. I contacted her office twice regarding the same matter and...crickets. I'm very disappointed that she doesn't take the time (or rather, have her office prioritize) to respond to constituents. I will likely vote against her come November if she doesn't care about input from residents of her ward.
Hello Welcome to R/Bridgeport!
The subreddit for anything related to the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.
This is a great place to share events, the news, historical photos or anecdotes, ask about a place that once existed etc.
At the time of writing this, it’s a small group but it’s bound to grow and with that it’s usefulness as well.
The Ramova has been saved as well as a lot of beloved hang outs because of your support.
I would love for this to be a place to announce events like public dances, trivia/karaoke nights, and events at our many community centers and churches.
As well as to organize things such as book clubs, dnd groups, or jam sessions.
When there are more people frequenting the sub you can offer up unwanted things for free or trade.
Or even to remind people we have awesome places like the Chicago Tool Library!
Home to many languages and and many communities, I’m excited to see what uses we find for this subreddit.
Please dm if you’re willing to translate to/or write yourself something in Mandarin, or any of the many languages in our neighborhood. Feel free to reach out to me or the other mod u/FGFM with any questions, concerns, or ideas.

Anyone in Bridgeport interested in some pickup soccer? There’s a caged court at Armour Square park that would work well. Or perhaps the field at McGuane Park?
