Kitsap transit snow route texts

Did any of you get one around 7:00 a.m. stating that all buses would be on snow routes? I walked out to my normal spot and only two routes were on snow schedule, so I waited and no bus. Checked again at 7: 05am and they had put an alert on the website that all buses were now on snow route, but I never got a text. Just wondering if anyone else actually did?

good places to make friends in Bremerton

i heard Ashely’s Pub and Blue Sky are good places to make friends, but unfortunately board games are not my thing.

I’m a girl in early 20s. i like to do typical girls things like coffee and clothes shopping

i genuinely don’t know how to make new friends as adults after college.

is there any good places/ways to make new friends here?

Things to do

My wife and I will be visiting soon and I'd love to get some recommendations. We will be enjoying the Admiral Theater valentines evening (with dinner) and will have all day Saturday to look around. We are in our 50's and good for 2-4 mile hikes. So far I'm considering one of a few parks such as Stephenson Canyon, Forest Ridge Park, or Newberry Hill Park. The USS Turner Joy looks interesting. Or my dad says we should drive to the olympic forest but I don't know exactly what we'd do, scenic drive? I'm also looking for a dinner recommendation for Saturday night, someplace nice. Thanks for any recommendations.

CH-47 flying super low over town at about 6 PM all week.

I was born and raised here so I'm no stranger to military aircraft. I don't think I've seen this before though.

Every day this week, at right around 6 PM, a CH-47 Chinook helicopter has been flying over my apartment in Manette so low that it's shaking the entire building. It's not showing up on ADS-B so I can't track it. I know CH-47's routinely go between JBLM and Everett but they fly high and follow the Sound. This is not taking any obvious route to anything. It's coming from the East and heading West towards the Hood Canal when it goes out of sight, which takes no time at all considering how low it's flying.

Need recommendations for a family lawyer

I currently have a parenting plan in place that did not require a lawyer. However, my ex-wife was arrested last night on DV charges and breaking and entering (she broke my door in). Looking for a lawyer to change the current plan as I am going to attempt full custody. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Help, my kitchen knives are insanely dull and my wife has been yelling at me for months about it, where can I go to get them sharpened so she will love me again?

Please help me save my marriage. I'm not sharp enough to keep her without these knives and I'm too lazy to learn how to sharpen them myself.

Looking for friends

As the title says, I’m(21m) looking for friends. I’ve lived in Kitsap since I was 16, I’m 21 now. I used to have a good amount of friends, but nowadays I’ve become kind of a homebody/workaholic and lost contact with all of my old friends. I’ve been thinking about trying Ashley’s or Blue Sky Hobbies, but I wanted to try reaching out to the community first. Any suggestions are welcome.

Favorite Grocery Spots?

Alrighty, I’m settling into the Bremerton area. Where do you shop for your groceries? I’m looking for a few things:

  1. Cost efficient. I know what we’ve signed up for coming to live in Washington, but I’m used to having an Aldi near me, and I’m looking for something in that ballpark of prices (ideally).

For lack of supply, I’m used to paying Target prices for my groceries, and while that is fine, and dandy, it’s not the most sustainable.

  1. Proximity. Silverdale is amazing, and I’m glad it’s a stones throw away from us, but if there was something more local, that would be fantastic.

  2. Unique? Small businesses or merchants that you like. Local businesses. Ethnic stores that have good produce, or eclectic finds?

Thank you all in advance for your support. Bremerton already feels like home, and we’re grateful to be here!

hair salons with fun colors?

ulta is usually my go to but their website is shitting itself so maybe i'll give a local place a try. my biggest issue is your average salon/barber shop doesnt have a rainbow of permanent hair dyes! would also like a place that does mens cuts as people tend to try to make my hair as feminine as possible even when i beg them not to. i usually get a shaved down undercut so nothing crazy. i know seattle probably has endless lists of queer salons but i'd rather go somewhere on this side of the water if possible!

Do I just wear a wig? (I need good hair!!)

Hola, me again, your friendly/snarky neighborhood Redditor. In order to keep up appearances (and superiority complexes, ha ha ha), I am on the hunt for a decent hair salon/stylist that specializes in trending styles? For example: french bobs, 70s layers, modern shag, etc. I have had terrible luck in the past (BACE Salon in Brem, Salon 302 in Purdy, one or two spots in Gig Harbor) and am willing to pay $$. After being burned so many times I usually just wait to get my hair cut once a year when I visit my home town because the quality is more consistent and current.

I like supporting local businesses, though! And soon I will resemble a mop, which will not do. Please help!! Bonus points for an IG account where I can browse the work. I always make sure to bring reference photos, and am amenable to the stylist making suggestions based on my face shape/hair type. <3

Judge Flood recommendation: remove from bench

Here are 191 pages of justification for the state commission's recommendation! https://www.cjc.state.wa.us/materials/activity/public_actions/2025/11005DecisionAndOrder.pdf

Final determination by the Supreme Court. "If the commission admonishes, reprimands, or censures a judge, the judge may timely seek de novo review in the supreme court."

ChatGPT summary:

This document is a formal decision by the Washington State Commission on Judicial Conduct regarding Judge Tracy S. Flood, who serves as the Bremerton Municipal Court Judge. The commission investigated allegations of misconduct under the Code of Judicial Conduct and found clear and convincing evidence of violations, including disrespectful treatment of staff and attorneys, and mismanagement of court operations.

Summary of Key Findings:

  1. Behavioral Misconduct:
    • Judge Flood's treatment of court staff and attorneys was condescending and dismissive, contributing to a toxic workplace.
    • This behavior resulted in the complete turnover of two sets of court staff and caused operational dysfunction, with delays in hearings, improper handling of court funds, and failures in processing legal documents.
  2. Impact on the Court:
    • The dysfunction negatively affected public trust in the court system.
    • Mishandled cases included domestic violence no-contact orders, probation monitoring, and timely processing of warrants, creating risks for public safety.
  3. Allegations of Racism:
    • Judge Flood claimed that complaints against her stemmed from racial bias as the first Black woman to serve as judge in Bremerton.
    • While acknowledging the reality of systemic racism, the commission found no evidence that her race was the basis for the complaints.
  4. Efforts to Resolve Issues:
    • Despite opportunities for training, coaching, and expert assistance, Judge Flood rejected much of the support and maintained that her actions were justified.
  5. Commission's Conclusions:
    • The panel concluded Judge Flood violated judicial rules requiring impartiality, competence, and respectful conduct.
    • Her lack of acknowledgment of wrongdoing and failure to correct her behavior were considered aggravating factors in determining sanctions.

The decision underscores the judge’s responsibilities to maintain professional and ethical standards to preserve the integrity of the judiciary. The commission is expected to impose sanctions, but the specifics were not fully detailed in the provided excerpt.

Can I bring a bike on the foot ferry?

The one that goes between Bremerton and Port Orchard. I checked the website and couldn't find anything that talks about bikes and that specific ferry so I'm hoping someone here knows.

Dog Walking @ Night

This is for all you Bremerton dog owners . . .

Seeking suggestions for good places to walk my dog after dark. I live on a small cul-de-sac, and the main road has no sidewalks, virtually no street lights, and heavy traffic with a shocking number of drivers employing excessive speed and bad judgement. All the parks close at dusk, and this time of year it is usually well after dark when I get home from work.

Any safe, well lit areas where I can have a peaceful stroll with my doggo at night?

Commercial fridge disposal

Hoping somebody might be able to point me in the right direction. Some lowlife dumped a 4’x3’ stainless steel commercial fridge in my driveway and I’m trying to figure out a way to get rid of it. WM is charging an astronomical amount, as are most of the junk removal companies. Looks like the transfer stations and some of the other recyclers shy away from commercial appliances and items containing refrigerant. Anyone have leads on where I might be able to dispose of this item?

FAFO lol

**Edit to add “FAFO Kitchen” is the name of the restaurant

Look, I love to hate. I’m genuinely curious why people are creaming their jeans for this weird restaurant?? There’s four tables and they’re open two days a week and the menu isn’t even interesting? I don’t need to pay $250 to watch someone cook my steak? And sorry not sorry but why does a chef need to “build a brand”??? His logo is tacky and he put it all over his wine bottles?? Bro just tell me what wine I am drinking because it sure as shit isn’t yours lol. He was washing dishes in a restaurant after culinary school (AS HE SHOULD with literal no experience?? We all gotta work our way up my guy) per his own About section on his website and was literally like “why is no one moving me up😤” so he just got a bunch of money somehow to open his own “restaurant” so he can con people into paying an arm and a leg for an experience. Lol. Oh and then afterwards YOU get to hang out with HIM, omg! We should be so blessed!!

What an egotistical knob. I’ve worked for guys like this who open a restaurant on a whim for the notoriety of it. Nothing on his menu is inventive or creative it’s just what lowbrow Kitsap wannabe foodies would be impressed by. He literally bought his way into the industry instead of working for it and is getting applauded for it and it’s ANNOYING ok? Ok thank you for reading bye
