Curious if anyone is aware of any rural homes that are for rent?
I have most of Sunday to spend in and around Brattleboro. Any fun, family friendly, outdoor activities or happening this Sunday? I would drive up to 90 minutes.
Internet wasn’t helpful for activities this weekend. Maybe there is a post-Halloween hangover for outdoor festivals.
Do not be discouraged or intimidated by these idiots if you get a letter like this in your mailbox. Report it to USPS. They don't take kindly to that kind of thing.
Abusing the postal service for voter intimidation is not something to be taken lightly.
It's happening though, even here in our small and wonderful town. If you, or anyone you know, receives one of these, report it.
i live in western MA, a half-hour south of Bratt, and i just got the latest round of snailmail junk from Brattleboro Ford. they're running one of those scratch-and-win games, and the deal is that if your ticket shows a winning result, you have to go to the dealership in person to see whether the _actual_ winning number matches your printed "invitation code". any chance anyone's willing to brave the salespeople long enough to go peek at the 6-digit winning numbers? i only need the one for "slot 2".
Any recommendations for a good car camping location in the area? Ideally looking for something scenic with access to hiking trails.
Anyone have scuttlebutt on the mental health crisis/police activity earlier today?
Will any bars/restaurants be open for the early, 9:30am, Pats game this Sunday?
That’s it, with whetstone becoming that new place, was wondering where to go that’s good for poutine.
Hey! I know this is a long shot but I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere outside of marketplace, air bnb, and furnished finds, and Zillow where I could find a short term furnished apartment in or around Brattleboro? I’ve been looking to move in April and have been hit with road block after road block and I figured before I give up I would try on here to see if anyone knows someone who could help me.
Me and my friends are planning on coming this firday for a birthday. Have the trees being to turn orange, and is there any fun things to do around here?
Hey does anyone have a car that they're desperately trying to get rid of? I'm currently out of a car and I don't have credit to get a loan and I'm living practically pay check to pay check. I'll take any old shitter as long as it can drive me to work and back.
I’m thinking of moving there with my two kids
I'm looking for recommendations for moving service that can help load up a truck. I've had bad experience in my last move so curious what companies folks had a good experience with?
I have T-mobile and it's truly awful. I rarely get service outside of downtown. I work near Jamaica and it would be nice to have even a little service on Rt 30 (though I may be asking too much there). I'm moving to West Bratt and its a complete dead zone for me. Any recommendations are super appreciated!
I'm living in Europe at the moment and I miss home. I started reading the Joe Gunther novels a while back, and decided to pick them up again. Its a detective series (I think about 30 installments!) by Archer Mayor. The main character Joe is a detective situated in Brattleboro, but also sometimes travels across the state. I'm starting book 3 now.
They are not masterpieces, but I think they're really good so far, for what they are. I really like hearing the names of the streets I know and getting the feeling of the town/state through a work of fiction.
Anyone else a fan? Anyone read the whole series? Thoughts?
I’m turning 26 and I currently live in the capital region in upstate NY and I’m thinking about taking a leap and moving to Brattleboro VT in the spring. Is it a place where someone in their twenties could make friends easily?
Preferably someone who isn't nearing retirement (i.e. need a longer term source). Needs to be able to handle 2-person jobs (no soloists). Current work involves new radiators & reworking existing heating zone. Thanks!
Hello I am desperately seeking a 3+ bedroom in or near brattleboro. Anyone know of anything available? Need to find something before October 1st. Thanks!
I see that Whetstone Station has gone from "temporarily closed" to having actual hours on google. Does anyone know if they are actually open? Coming to town this weekend and have always loved that place. Was bummed to hear it closed but hopefully it's reopening?
I'm traveling via the Vermonter in September but need to park a truck overnight. Is the transit center parking lot really as sketchy as the Google reviews indicate? 4 days, 3 nights to leave a vehicle. I know parking overnight not to leave valuables and leave it locked, etc. I could get the Moover from the Park and Ride but there's no return transit to get me back on a Saturday after 5:00pm. What is my best course of action?
Does the exit of the brattleboro coop into the Malfunction Junction have its own traffic light phase? Or is that shared with something else allowed to move at the same time?
Pulled out 3rd in line with the green in the left lane of the exit intending to to head south on 142, but immediately had car going the opposite direction appear out of nowhere in the way.
It worked out but trying to better understand the intersection before next time
Hello neighbors, I'll be down in your city tomorrow from Windsor County and am wondering what good place(s) are to sit and work on my laptop. I'd take meetings from my car, unless there's some drop in shared office space I could rent for the day. Hours would be approx 9-2ish. Thanks in advance!
Anyone able to recommend comfortable B and B type places or inns in Brattleboro for when you have out of town guests and not enough room to host them? Thank you!
I have two young (not yet school age) kids and am considering Brattleboro as a location for our next move. I have not been able to connect with many families about the school system and wanted to try my luck here. Any thoughts or anecdotes you can share are much appreciated!
Having a party early November and looking to hire a local bartender. Is that a thing? Thank you!
Why is it only at the Brattleboro Hannaford where you have to wait for people to check out the 150 items they put in their cart in the self check express lane. Every other Hannaford in every other state I’ve ever been, people go through self checkout when they’ve got 12 or a reasonable amount of groceries. But here on Putney Road you can bring 400 things and just check them out at your leisure one swipe at a time. I don’t understand.
Hi all! I’ll be coming up to the area for the first week of October. I’m visiting a friend a few towns over. I am a trans man~non-binary transmasc person and longtime vegan. Any recommendations for LGBTQ+ stuff, vegan food, DIY music, oddities, indie bookstores, and nature are highly appreciated. What would you say are “must do/see/eat” activities?
It’ll be my first time in Vermont and I’m really looking forward to it. :)
I’m part of a University of Cambridge research project, and we’re studying how the internet is regulated—who decides what you see online and how much control you should have. Right now, we dont have any participants from Vermont. We really want to hear from all of the States. It’s really important to get some local voices included in this global study!
We just need 6 minutes of your time, and its completely anonymous. Your input could help shape future internet policies that impact us all.
Thanks so much for considering this and helping to make sure Vermont is represented!
Just seems like cars are always being broken into by addicts in town, houses burglarized etc way more than in the past. For fucks sake they are even breaking into cars at the fire stations now. I’m looking for something more than “acab” or “BPD sucks”. I feel its something a little more systemic than that but I haven’t lived in bratt for about 2-3 years now and just want a bit of context to whats happening to the town i once loved.
i do visit, just dont live there anymore
